Icons of industrial design meet distinctive art pieces created by the host’s father in this charming flat located in Winsviertel, a small neighbourhood within fashionable Prenzlauerberg. Filled with natural light and modern silhouettes, this two-bedroom home is suitable for young and old - small toys and single beds keep the children happy, while the wine cooler and balcony with stunning views of the TV Tower are for the adults. * The layout of the flat is not ideal - to enter the master bedroom, you need to walk through the children's bedroom* It can sleep up to 5 people, but 3 of the guests would have to be children* Everything's managed from afar, so there can be delays in response time due to time differences * The kitchen is on the smaller side* Even though there’s an elevator in the building, you will still need to climb 18 stairs to reach the flat * Watch your head on the sloped ceilings in both bedrooms Air ConditioningBalcony...More Details

    Dance on Air

Brimming with books, artsy trinkets and Rothko-esque paintings, this Mitte flat is the kind of home that starts conversations. Once owned by an artist, there's a unique layout and a creative flair here that we loved when we visited. It's a blend of different styles, yet it works – vintage antiques mix with minimalist furniture, wooden countertops sit on stainless steel cabinets and, in the heart of it all, are the huge windows showing off the mammoth trees of Arkonaplatz Square across the street. On sunny days, enjoy your morning cup of coffee and breakfast roll on the balcony, watching as Berlin comes to life. Location-wise, you won't have to travel far to experience the authentic flea markets, buzzing restaurant scene and trendy galleries in this lively part of Mitte. Instead of walking to the main attractions, make like the locals and rent a bike from the cycle hire stations in the Kulturbrauerei or hop on the tram and be in the city...More Details

Furnished with a homely mix of mismatched pieces, funky artwork and pops of colour, this apartment is a cool-looking space that’s a pleasure to hang out in. The living area is generous enough to entertain you and a couple of friends, while the large couch with footstool calls for relaxing under a blanket after a busy day exploring your buzzy Mitte neighbourhood. Pull up a blue velvet chair to the dining table and tuck into a traditional German breakfast or munch on a brötchen in the fresh air on your private balcony. Grab a coffee-to-go from a nearby café and take the leisurely thirty-minute stroll to Museum Island. Or, hop on the S-Bahn for five minutes to the unmistakable Brandenburg Gate and leafy Tiergarten – perfect for picnics in the sunshine. *This home is on the third floor and even though there’s a lift, there are a few stairs to climb to reach the entrance of the apartment*Your host kindly asks for no shoes to be worn in the ...More Details

    Sculpture Culture

An elegant home in a friendly neighbourhood, this place mixes Italian palazzo style interiors with typical Berlin cool. Masterfully designed by the owners, some of its unique features include a photo wall by a Chicago artist who stayed in the apartment and classical sculptures – most of which the host bought from Italian film director, Franco Zeffirelli. In an attractive Jugendstil building in trendy Prenzlauer Berg, there's fabulous architecture, art and culture all around. Inside, period features and quirky artistic touches make for a real experience, above and beyond your usual rentals. Cook your meals in the smart, modern kitchen and eat either in the charming little dining nook or out on the home's balcony. But it's not a problem if you don't feel like eating at home, with literally hundreds of restaurants within easy walking distance. In a quiet spot, but close to public transport, it's a breeze to explore the city from this littl...More Details

    On The Beat

Located in Mitte just streets away from the Kreuzberg border, you’re in a well-connected and charming part of Berlin with plenty of cultural offerings, green spaces and cosy coffee shops. Ideal for a couple or solo traveller looking to explore the city from a central spot, this studio is designed in a vibrant, colourful way with charming artistic details that bring out the best sides of its compact space. We love the calming blue walls here that add a dash of elegance to the proceedings and the farmhouse-inspired kitchen with its Piet Hein Eek crockery. The retro-inspired furnishings give the home an effortlessly cool vibe with a comfortable window-side reading chair that beckons to be relaxed in with a good book and a cup of coffee. Our favourite spot, however, is the private balcony with its views of St Michael’s Church. Whether you’re starting your mornings off here or ending the day with a sundowner in the fresh air, you’ll love hav...More Details

    Musical Genius

Sitting atop a modern building, Musical Genius flows over Friedrichshain and provides an unobstructed bird-eye view of the modern city. It’s minimalist in style, which only adds more character to the antique family heirlooms that are so well-maintained that it looks as if they were created yesterday. Every corner of this home tells a story as it’s packed with personal touches like the beautiful fashion sketches and artworks created by the host’s children. Musical Genius also comes complete with a harp and piano for you to use - and let’s not forget about the sauna. * When we visited, we noticed some scuff marks on some of the walls* This is a lived-in home, so expect to share some of the space with the host’s belongings* Bedroom two isn’t up to the same standard as bedroom one - in many ways, it feels more like a communal space than a bedroom* Even though the kitchen is fully-equipped, it might be a bit too small if you’re looking to c...More Details

Animalia is one of those homes that manages to tell a story. All the artworks are original pieces made by the host and his father, and the beautiful vintage-style cast iron chairs are sourced from his uncle’s bar. The space could be a bit tight for six guests, but it would be perfect for a family or a small group of friends coming to experience the city.Bright and minimalist, it's a home with a spectacular view too. On the top floor and boasting not one but two spacious terraces, you can gaze across the rooftops and make the most of the evening sunshine in the summer months. The nearby church makes for an impressive backdrop and if you're hooked on views you can even visit it on a Sunday and climb its tall tower.Inside, white walls and pine floors mix with sloping ceilings, plentiful house plants and little dashes of character, to make for a relaxing, stylish city home. Rainbow Rhythms

An interesting fact about this apartment building is that the Berlin Wall would have run straight through when it was up. As such, it's a great location to see both sides of the city's history and you've got a great vantage point from the top floor balcony, which faces towards Mauerpark. Turning your back on the skyline for a moment, you'll be greeted by a bright and modern home full of fascinating curios — the intricately carved wooden bed in the master bedroom, for instance, came from a Buddhist Temple in Bali and there's abstract artwork hung on the walls that will have you stroking your chin. If it gives you the inspiration to go out and see an exhibition, Kulturbrauerei is only fifteen minutes' walk away. However, if you just want to flit between restaurants and bars, a five-minute stroll will take you to vibrant Zionskirchplatz and Kastanieenallee, two charming squares packed full of places to sit and watch the world go by. *The ...More Details

With a huge vinyl collection, guitars on the walls and an out-of-this-world sound system, there’s no doubt that Melomania is a music lover’s dream. It’s stylishly decorated with splashes of colour, relaxing balconies and a rooftop with striking 360 views of Berlin’s rooftops. And let’s not forget about the open shower. We love that everything is designed with meticulous attention to detail, making for a luxurious stay in one of Berlin’s hippest neighbourhoods. * There’s currently no home manual — you’ll have to ask for help on how to use the appliances* This is a lived-in home — expect to share the space with some of the host’s belongings* Guests 3 and 4 would be on a double bed on the mezzanine level* The fridge can currently only be opened from the top — the host is working on changing this* Kreuzberg is very hip and popular with a bar-loving, partying crowd — if you’re looking for peace and quiet, you should probably look elsewhere*...More Details

    Vinyl Union

While it’s not the most luxurious home in our collection, Vinyl Union is located in popular Prenzlauer Berg and within easy access to the many trendy cafés, restaurants and parks. We love the bright living room that’s the natural heart of the home and custom-made for socialising, although both the bedroom and the bathroom fall short of it. You’ll also find a record player and huge, varied vinyl collection that’s great for a night-in. * There’s currently no home manual, so you’ll have to ask for help on how to work the appliances * This home is located on the second floor with no elevator - be prepared for some up and down* When we visited, the wifi wasn’t as fast as we would like it to be* We also noticed some scuff marks on the walls* It is a lived-in home - expect to share the space with some of the host’s belongings* The bathroom is a bit tired-looking and could do with an update* The bed is on the smaller side BalconyBathtubBuzzer...More Details

    The Blue Angel

At the exact point where Kreuzberg meets Neukölln, we find The Blue Angel. Kreuzkölln, as the locals call it, is a blend of multiple identities - there’s the multicultural atmosphere, the hipster bars, and a mix of both expensive abodes and rundown buildings. The Blue Angel embodies all of it with its high ceilings and original plaster details paired with contemporary photo prints and vintage furniture in the kitchen. * Access to the bed in bedroom 3 is via one side only* The lift is not suitable for wheelchairs* When we visited, we saw some scuff marks on the walls* The balcony opens up to a busy and noisy road* The graveyard view from some of the bedrooms isn’t for everyone* Bedroom 5 is located on a slightly elevated platform in the living room - curtains can be drawn for privacy, but it’s still not super private* Expect for bedroom 2, all bedrooms are on the smaller side* The outdoor courtyard space is communal and shared between a...More Details

    The Ivory Empress

Adventurous. Nostalgic. Sophisticated. The Ivory Empress is all of that and more. Set in a building from the 1900s, its history is celebrated by the light colour palette, gorgeous wooden floors and magnificent works of art. It’s easy to see that the host has an eye for design – most things are sourced from flea markets, with each piece of art and furniture telling a story. Located right on the border between Kreuzberg and Neukölln in a neighbourhood the locals call Kreuzkölln, this five-bedroom home is in a place where hipster coffee shops meet multicultural Berlin. *Bedroom four is on the small side and only has a single bed*The beds in bedroom three are separated by a wall divider – don't expect plenty of privacy*Heavy packers beware – there’s not a lot of space for unpacking your suitcase*This home faces a busy street – if the windows are open, it might get noisy*The lift is not suitable for wheelchairs*The outdoor courtyard space i...More Details

    Blonde Venus

On the top floor of a beautiful 1900s building, we find Blonde Venus. We love its roomy terrace with views of Berlin, perfect for warm summer evenings - as well as its location in funky Kreuzkölln, which lies in the intersection of Kreuzberg and Neukölln. This three-bedroom home has a lot of charm, especially when it comes to all the intact characteristics that allude to the building’s past. * Neither of the bathrooms have low-voltage plugs * The lift is not suitable for wheelchairs* When we visited, we saw some scuff marks on the walls* Because the home isn’t baby-proof, the host has decided to rent it out to adults and older children only* Bedroom 3 is on the smaller side* Tall people be aware - the shower in bathroom 2 is only 195 cm tall* The double bed in bedroom 2 can be pulled apart to make two single beds* There’s no AC - and since it’s the top floor flat, it can get hot in the summer months* Kreuzkölln is on the up, but it's n...More Details

    Café Electric

Inside a beautifully renovated 1920s building, we find Café Electric. It’s located at the exact point where Neukölln and Kreuzberg meet, a micro-neighbourhood that the locals call Kreuzkölln. Even though it’s a small space on paper, we don’t get that impression once we step into the luminous living room that feels a little like a tree house. It's complete with cosy sofas and a mix of unique art and design lamps, and it's also got a nice collection of board games that makes for a fun night in. * Neither of the bathrooms have low-voltage plugs * The lift is not suitable for wheelchairs* The outdoor courtyard space is communal and shared between all residents of the building* Because the home isn’t baby-proof, the host has decided to rent it out to adults and older children only* The graveyard view from some of the bedrooms isn’t for everyone* The balcony opens up to a busy street and can be noisy at times * Kreuzkölln is on the up, but i...More Details

Touch of Warhol is a cosy flat nestled between Kreuzberg and Neukölln in a neighbourhood the locals call Kreuzkölln. It’s up-and-coming, so expect hipster-esque hotspots full of artsy Berliners mixed in with these rough edges. This three-bedroom home is perfect for the artistically inclined, especially if you appreciate pop artists like Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein. The building is from the early 1900s and it’s been lovingly renovated with modern amenities, old-school board games and charming details aplenty. * The lift is not suitable for wheelchairs* The outdoor courtyard space is communal and shared by all residents of the building* The home isn’t baby-proof, so the host has decided to rent it out to adults and older children only* The graveyard view from some of the bedrooms isn’t for everyone* The balcony opens up onto a busy street and can be noisy at times * Kreuzkölln is on the up, but it's not quite like Kreuzberg yet* Whe...More Details

Though compact, this home's free-flowing layout ensures comfort. The interior is contemporary and inviting, cloaked in neutral tones and boasting high ceilings, hardwood floors and chic decor. The amount of green space surrounding Abstrakt is a real rarity in the city. As you walk past lush lawns to reach the apartment, there's an undeniable sense of tranquillity. Baroque Chronology

Baroque Chronology is the kind of eclectic home that you can only find in Berlin. Part Baroque dream, part DDR-era building, it’s a place where contrasts meet to make something new. With antique Swarovski chandeliers, a Berlin mural, vintage mahogany furniture, and the 1980s style jacuzzi, it’s got a theatrical feel. Baroque Chronology might not be for everyone, but curious minds and people looking for luxurious beds will feel right at home here. * This home isn’t located in Berlin’s most charming neighbourhood - but it’s only a short ride from Alexanderplatz and the centre of Prenzlauer Berg* This is a ground floor flat and there is not a huge amount of natural light* There are two beds in the second bedroom* If full occupancy is reached, there’s only one bathroom for all six guests* This is a characterful flat filled with weird and wonderful things – if you are a minimalist at heart then this isn't the one for you BicyclesBlack-Out ...More Details

    Sun Salutations

Sun Salutations is flooded with positivity. It’s a calming and welcoming one-bedroom home in edgy Friedrichshain with lots of natural light. We love the fantastically high ceilings and how every little detail is brimming with a thoughtful and easy-going feel. Especially suited to travellers inspired by Buddhist philosophies, yoga and spirituality, this home genuinely encourages you to take a step back, relax and slow down. * Tall people be aware - the shower is only 180 cm high* This home is on the third floor with no elevator – be prepared to climb some stairs* There’s not a lot of space for hanging your clothes in the bedroom* There’s currently no fan in this home – it might get hot in the summer months* Guest 3 would be on a sofa bed in the living room* Due to previous experiences, the host has requested that no children are allowed inside the home* If you’re a light sleeper, you might want to look elsewhere – there are no blackout ...More Details

    The Estelle

The Estelle has something of a dreamlike quality. It’s hard to put a finger on what it is exactly that makes it so, but it is noticeable. The treehouse in the shared garden adds something to this sense of wonder – maybe it's the jubilant sounds coming from neighbourhood children playing. Inside everything is cool and calm, and while the decor is on the minimalist side, there’s been a serious effort to keep the design coherent, and it feels very much of Berlin. *The flat's on the ground floor of the building, so there's no view to speak of*While there is a garden, it is shared with the other tenants in the building*As many as five people could be sharing one not-very-big bathroom Black-Out BlindsBoard GamesBuzzer / Wireless IntercomCarbon Monoxide DetectorCentral HeatingChild FriendlyChildren's DinnerwareCleaning ProductsCoffee MakerCooking EssentialsCot / CribCourtyardDeskDishwasherDryerFanFire ExtinguisherFirst Aid KitFreezerFridgeHa...More Details
