    Stones On The Ceiling

Home to Rome's main train station and the Basilica Papale di Santa Maria Maggiore, Esquilino is a multi-cultural hub with plenty of authentic Roman charm. Here, you can enjoy casual dinners at the local trattorias, sip espresso and people-watch in Piazza Vittorio and shop for international ingredients at the local markets. It's more laid-back than other neighbourhoods, but you can't beat the location – the Colosseum is only a twenty-minute stroll away, and there are plenty of subway stations, so getting around the city is no problem. Inside, the apartment is a warm and welcoming respite from the bustling streets outside. The traditional stone ceiling is an absolute showstopper, and the soft furnishings and natural colour scheme only add to the wow factor. While the living area is decidedly rustic, the sleek kitchen is completely modern, and it has everything home cooks will need. Whether you're munching on breakfast around the dining ta...More Details

  • Wide Awake

Showcasing traditional Roman character, in contrast with contemporary design and furnishings – this home is packed with both personality and practicality. Set in a historic building of the '800s, the apartment's restored windows and doors alongside an exposed brick wall set the scene for a charming stay in Rome. Besides the original features, we'd describe the interiors as urban-chic, with most of the furniture and finishings made from eco-friendly, locally sourced materials. Think precious natural stone, quality wooden flooring and authentic tiles. We particularly love the luxurious curtains and rugs that add warmth and create a cosy ambience, while vintage chandeliers, lamps and other accessories offer bags of charm. With stunning park views from every room, start the day with nature as the daily songbird will be your wake up call. Nestled just a four-minute stroll away from the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, this peaceful spot pro...More Details

    Notte Cavaliere

Situated directly on the riverbank, this apartment offers stunning views of the Tiber and the Ara Pacis Museum from the big windows and two quaint balconies. The balcony is a dream – we loved starting our day with an alfresco espresso and ending the evening with a glass of wine as the sun went down across the city's rooftops. The design inside veers towards sleek simplicity, and although it may lack a little bit of pizazz, we appreciated how comfortable the squishy sofas and plush bed were after a long afternoon on our feet. And the use of space is pretty ingenious – for instance, the compact kitchenette is hidden behind a set of folding wooden doors. It's small, so we wouldn't suggest rustling up Italian feasts but it'll do the job for light bites and quick breakfasts before heading out for the day.And trust us, you'll be doing a lot of exploring here. Just moments from Palazzo Borghese (three minutes, to be precise) and a ten-minute s...More Details

    Latin Love

This apartment in Trastevere is ideal for those keen to drop off their bags and head out into the city to explore. Sure, at full occupancy two people will have to take the sofa bed in the living room, but it won’t be at any real expense of lounge space. The terrace is an added bonus here, just the spot for an evening glass of limoncello – it is slightly overlooked by neighbouring homes, but that’s unlikely to worry you as the Italian sun warms your skin. *Parking in Rome can be tricky, so we recommend sticking to the easily accessible public transport where possible. *At full occupancy, two guests will be sleeping on the sofa bed in the living area.*Air conditioning is available in the living room only. *There's no lift here. You'll need to be able to climb stairs to reach the entrance of the home.*The terrace is overlooked by neighbouring homes, so lacks a little privacy. *The ceiling in some areas is on the low side – it might not su...More Details

    Colour Field

The bright, vibrant hues are the first things that strike you about this funky apartment. There’s a cohesion between the colourful design of the different rooms, yet at the same time, each maintains its own character. Through to the living room, where abstract artwork adorns the striking red wall and eclectic objects fill whitewashed bookshelves. While the statement art pieces and bright decor add interest, they're not the only things we love about this home. In fact, the light-filled kitchen with elegant ghost chairs is the perfect spot for starting the day with a continental breakfast. We also really like the marble floors throughout the apartment, and the granite kitchen backsplash – in fact, in most parts of the flat – the attention to detail is praiseworthy. Step outside of the building, to find yourself in the cultural heart of the world's most ancient city. Positioned between the Villa Medici and Trevi Fountain, whichever way you...More Details

    Roman Holiday

Located on a picturesque cobbled street just off of Via dei Coronari – one of Rome’s most historic streets – this quiet apartment is full of character and history. From its beamed ceilings to the original carved stone cubby window in the master bedroom, the building’s past blends beautifully with modern comforts to create a comfortable, stylish stay. We love the main room’s frescoed lilies and the stone arches above the doorways. Our favourite feature, however, is the private terrace where a table and chairs invite alfresco breakfasts over espressos and sunset spritzes before a night out in one of the countless trattorias in your Navona neighbourhood. Speaking of your surroundings, you couldn’t be better placed to visit some of Rome’s most famous sights, including the Piazza Navona (a four-minute walk), the Pantheon (a ten-minute walk) and the Trevi Fountain (a fifteen-minute stroll from your door). The Vatican too is within easy reach,...More Details

    Limoncello Yellow

Grab yourself a big slice of Roman life at this immaculate river view apartment, just around the corner from the iconic piazza of Campo di Fiori. Home to one of the city's best-known markets and, by night, buzzing bars and restaurants, this square delivers all the Italian charms you're chasing. You can easily blaze a trail to Rome's biggest sights from here, too, including the Colosseo (half-an-hour on foot) and even closer, the Patheon (a fifteen-minute walk). Or ditch the crowds and hop over the bridge to Trastevere's atmospheric alleyways to seek out a nonna-esque trattoria for dinner. Back home, this newly renovated apartment feels like the perfect little hideaway after days amongst the city's hustle and bustle. Put your feet up in the light-filled living space – the leafy vistas reaching out to the River Tiber through the dual-aspect windows are a joy. While over in the two boutique-feel bedrooms, guests sharing will love the privac...More Details

    The Playhouse

Filled to the brim with unique artwork and quirky trinkets, this playful apartment embraces maximalism like there's no tomorrow. The apartment is full of colour and a sense of fun, though it's fair to say it won't appeal to lovers of neutral tones and pared-back decor. It's in an old building on one of the more characteristic streets in the charming Regola district. Several details remind you of that, such as the stone arches, vaulted ceilings and the ornate entryway at street level. Step out onto the cobbles and you're a five-minute walk from the lively Campo de' Fiori, seven minutes from the baroque beauty of Piazza Navona, and just over twenty minutes from the labyrinthine streets of trendy Trastevere. * Child-friendly amenities such as a cot, pram and highchair are available upon request*The walls are quite thin, so you may occasionally be able to hear the neighbours*The kitchen is small - it's okay for preparing snacks and light m...More Details

The vast window in Salici’s living room beautifully frames the Tiber, and the willows that line its banks. There’s also a balcony, allowing you to get even closer to the river. It shouldn’t be underestimated just how special a view like this is. The flat itself has a few years on it, clearly, but it’s been kept well in that time so it’s just like any other place that hasn’t specifically been designed to be rented out. There’s also a bit of noise from the road below, but that comes from being only a five-minute walk from the heart of the action. *The bedroom doesn't have a proper door*There's a good amount of traffic passing below so some noise reaches the flat*Two guests will be on sofa beds in the living room Air ConditioningBalconyBuzzer / Wireless IntercomDishwasherHair DryerIronIroning BoardKitchenLift AccessMicrowaveMultiple Sets of KeysTVWashing MachineWi-fi...More Details

    Dusk Herald

From Dusk Herald, the Vatican, Piazza Navona and Trastevere are all easily reachable on foot. You’ve also got the Tiber just around the corner – it’s hard to overstate just how well-placed the flat is. Inside it’s simple, but with a pretty wooden ceiling upstairs, and lots of light. The kitchen is a little beige, but we did like the geometric wallpaper. We also noticed a lot of birdsong coming through the windows, which added a lovely, bucolic feel to the place. *The upstairs ceiling is slanted and therefore very low in parts*There's no lift and the apartment is on the second floor*Most of the furniture is Ikea, and we found a few scratches on the coffee table*The ladder up to the bedroom is very steep*Two people will be on a sofa bed in the living room Air ConditioningBuzzer / Wireless IntercomCentral HeatingCoffee MakerCooking EssentialsCot / CribDishwasherDryerFreezerFridgeHair DryerHigh ChairIronKettleKitchenKitchen UtensilsLuxury...More Details

    Ochre Archway

As soon as you step inside Ochre Archway, you’re bathed in this magical glow. It feels cosy, and hits the sweet spot between hotel-like service and the character you’d expect from an apartment. The surrounds also add to the vibe - the apartment’s in a beautiful old palazzo, and the street outside is about as classically Roman as you’ll see. There are a few small defects, but the overall atmosphere is so welcoming that you won’t really notice them. *The walls aren't pristine - there are some signs of damp in the bedroom*The shower is only 190cm high - taller guests might need to duck a bit*It's only on the first floor but there is no lift in the building*Guests 3 and 4 will be on a sofa bed in the living room Air ConditioningBlack-Out BlindsBuzzer / Wireless IntercomCarbon Monoxide DetectorCentral HeatingChild FriendlyCoffee MakerCooking EssentialsCot / CribDishwasherDryerExtra Pillows and BlanketsFire ExtinguisherFirst Aid KitFridgeHa...More Details

    The Gates Of Rome

This is a special home, found just outside of Rome within the picturesque Marcigliana Nature Reserve. This renovated home was a fortified village in medieval times. Its location on a hill meant then that it was safe from invaders – now it means there are incredible views of the nature reserve on one side and the rich Roman countryside on the other. Best of all, it’s only a ten-minute walk from the train station, so you can pop in and out of Rome whenever you like. The property is set within a private park, so oak, olive and pine trees surround the home – strolling through the grounds is a peaceful way to start the day. You might then like to swim in the pool, again taking in the views, and soaking up the tranquil atmosphere – it’s hard to believe you’re so close to Rome. Stroll into town for lunch at the local pizzeria, and take your time – things move a little more slowly here. When you want to speed things up, head into Rome. The trai...More Details

    Key to the Eternal City

With arresting views of Castel Sant'Angelo, and completely surrounded by some of the most iconic tourist attractions, this home is a must for anyone looking to explore all that Rome has to offer. A ten minute walk across Ponte Vittorio Emanuele II – a historic bridge originally built to connect the city of Rome to the Vatican – and the River Tiber, will take you straight to the renaissance St. Peter's Basilica. Speaking of renaissance, there’s also a Leonardo DaVince experience at his dedicated museum a six-minute walk away. With plenty more on your doorstep, including cafes and restaurants that are perfect for not only sampling local cuisine, but also observing the Italian lifestyle, you won’t find yourself short on things to do. Even though beauty can be found wherever you go out on the streets of Rome, the home itself has a fair share to offer as well. Out on the terrace, we encourage you to watch the sunrise over the castle, and cit...More Details

    Urban Duet

If you're a group heading to Rome, or perhaps two families travelling together, this home offers a colourful, arty alternative to run-of-the-mill apartments. With their own entrance accessed through an outer gate and a small outside space where you can sip coffee in the morning, they've been recently renovated with artistic flair. The one-bedroom apartment sleeps up to four, thanks to a sofa bed in the lounge, and this one is mainly decked out in red and black. High ceilings and a brick-effect wall make for a bright, fun place to put your feet up at the end of the day, and we particularly love the neon sign and touches of Americana. Meanwhile, the other apartment is an ode to monochrome, with modern, designer furniture and a minimalist feel. Both have open-plan living spaces with dining tables and fully-equipped kitchens, and both have sleek, stylish bathrooms.Just a short stroll from the nearest Metro station, it's just a couple of sto...More Details

    Donato's Cloisters

It’s not often you get the chance to stay in as beautiful a building as Chiostro del Bramante and its stunning sculpture museum. Built in the 1500s, the building now hosts an art gallery, restaurant, cafe and bookshop where you’ll get discounts at during your stay. Wander around and take in Donato Bramante's Renaissance work, visit the adjacent Santa Maria della Pace and witness Raphael’s famous Sybils and then step out onto the beautiful Piazza Navona for a spot of sightseeing. As well as being right outside one of Rome's most beloved squares, you're only an eight-minute stroll to the Pantheon and a fourteen-minute walk to the Trevi Fountain. Back to the home itself, you'll find a bright and airy open-plan living space that makes great use of the layout with stylish panel dividers. It's a minimalist, Art Deco-inspired interior with white sofas, reclaimed furnishings, abstract artwork and a pastel pink and orange colour scheme – we love...More Details

    Eternal Style

This stunning estate is located in Campagnano just northwest of Rome, a region known for its idyllic rolling countryside where historically Romans would sojourn when escaping the heat of the city. Today, you’ll find this villa offers you the same chance to experience the best of both rural Italy and the magic of the Eternal City. Here, you’ll enjoy the perfect mix of indoor and outdoor living, delicately balanced between the home’s modern yet warm décor and extensive manicured garden. In the morning you can head outside to the open patio with your coffee and pastry to decide on the day’s events. Swimming and sunbathing out at the pool? Enjoying a barbecue in the stoneware-paved wooden portico? Wine and cocktails on the lawn? If it’s touring you’re after you can plan your trip into the city, or choose instead to make your way West towards the Tyrrhenian coast with its seaside towns and trendy beaches. *The villa's pool is open from the l...More Details

    Visions of Amore

In a quiet backstreet just off the legendary Via Vittorio Veneto, this apartment would make an excellent retreat for a couple visiting Rome. It’s an eight-minute walk to the Spanish Steps, and less than ten minutes on foot to the Trevi Fountain. The elegant decor of this studio apartment will certainly have you tossing three coins in the fountain, hoping to return. Exposed beams and stonework create a sense of the building’s history. The stylish kitchen area with its sleek breakfast bar illuminated by Edison bulbs is particularly spacious for a studio in central Rome. Although there’s no door between the bedroom area and living area, an archway and the generally large floorspace makes it feel like a one-bed rather than a studio. *The shower walls are glass so we'd only recommend this studio for a couple or solo travellers (or really close friends who don't mind averting their eyes)*There's only one window so there isn't a lot of nat...More Details

    Bacco - Diana

In a characterful corner of Trastevere, just around the corner from the Tiber, Bacco \u0026 Diana is slightly detached from both the tourist crowds around the Trevi fountain and the nightlife by Piazza di Santa Maria. Of course, this is Rome, so it’s by no means silent, but the slight respite is noticeable. And while the layout of the flat means that there isn’t much light in the living room, it’s still a welcoming space, and the lack of separation between each of the spaces mitigates any sense of being enclosed. *As there's no lift, you'll have to take the stairs to the first floor*While there is a very small outdoor space, it's not big enough to relax in*The TV in the living room is very small*Some parts of the flat are quite dark*Two people can sleep on single sofa beds in the living room, but as there are no doors between that, the bedroom, and the kitchen, anyone sleeping there wouldn't have much space Air ConditioningBalcony / ...More Details

    The Bathhouse

In among the original hills of Rome, The Bathhouse is completely surrounded by history. On one side, the Nero’s infamous palace – the Domus Aurea – and on the other, the Colosseum and the Imperial Forums. Its position alone would sell, but the flat itself is not underwhelming. It has lovely views, and the kitchen is pretty big for a place of its size. There’s an antique desk in the corner, which although not making as much sense as a breakfast table, is far prettier. *There's a double sofa bed and a single futon in the living room, but three would be too many for the space*There's a restaurant directly below the apartment so it sometimes gets a bit noisy*The shower only reaches a height of 180cm Air ConditioningBalconyBlack-Out BlindsBuzzer / Wireless IntercomCentral HeatingChild FriendlyCoffee MakerCooking EssentialsCot / CribDishwasherElectricity AdaptorsExtra Pillows and BlanketsFire ExtinguisherFirst Aid KitFreezerFridgeHair Dryer...More Details

    Aria of the Palms

Dating back to the early 1900s, you can see the turn-of-the-century architecture in the stone steps between terraces and wooden-shuttered windows. It’s a veritable playground for those that seek relaxation in the terraced gardens, where succulents fill the perfectly positioned flower beds. Spend days floating in the sleek, modern swimming pool with its integrated Jacuzzi. Lunch can be taken at the round table on the lower terrace, while dinner can be set up on the upper terrace at the more formal spot. Sun loungers are shaded by parasols and there are two hanging egg chairs for reading in the sun. From here, you can catch a glimpse of the sea with the Pontine islands floating in the deep blue.Inside, it’s an ode to grandeur as rooms are filled with gallery-worthy sculptures and striking paintings. The Roman Writer

Conveniently located in the heart of Rome, within easy walking distance of the Pantheon and Trevi Fountain, this apartment is ideal for anyone who wants to soak up the city’s history and culture. The office, handy for those visiting on business, also doubles as a sleeping space for one guest – although, as both bathrooms are en-suites, this arrangement may not suit those who like their privacy. The kitchen is equipped for home cooking, but if you’d prefer to eat out, there are plenty of restaurants on your doorstep. *Parking in Rome can be tricky, so we recommend sticking to the easily accessible public transport where possible. *If you’ll be staying with a little one, your host can provide a cot and high chair upon request. *At capacity, one guest will sleep on the day bed in the office space. *If you need to pick up some essentials during your stay, there is a small supermarket less than a five-minute walk away. The Roman Chariot

When we imagine a stay in Rome, we think of the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps. This home's location is ideal – it's just a short walk from both, while the Colosseum is also within walking distance (with comfy shoes). Of course, with such a central location, you're probably going to hear some street noise back at this apartment. We love the beautiful frescoes on the ceilings and the retro photos of celebrities adorning the walls. At full capacity, one guest will be sleeping on a sofa bed in the living room, so this place might be best for a couple if you don't want to compromise on socialising space. *A complimetary bottle of Italian wine is provided. *Guest three would be on a sofa bed in the living room – if you're looking for a home with ample space for socialising, we'd recommend this home for two guests only. *Though there's no washing machine here, there's a laundrette nearby. *Given the home's central spot, expect to hear ...More Details

    Hello Tropicana

Situated in fashionable Monti, this stylish home is under a minute stroll from the Forum of Trajan, the last and the greatest of the Imperial Forums. In fact, you can see its columns from the doorway of this palace. It's just a ten-minute stroll from the Colosseum and a five-minute walk from the Roman Forum, and there are plenty of chic boutiques and restaurants on your doorstep too.Inside, this apartment is as impressive as the location. You'll find characterful beams contrasting with modern furnishings, as well as tropical adornments and wallpapers. The real highlight here, we think, is the flower-festooned balcony. It's the perfect spot for a glass of Prosecco or an alfresco dinner of cacio e pepe. Later, relax on the leather sofa and plan your next day in the Eternal City. *This home is on the first floor, to access you need to climb a twelve-step staircase or you can take an elevator *Inside, there are three steps leading to the k...More Details

While you’d initially not expect anything out of the ordinary, once you step off the street you can see why Elmer is so special. Beyond the pretty internal courtyard, there are small, multi-coloured accents all over the place, from the figure of a bull on the shelf to the kitchen tiles and the beautiful bathroom sink. It is on the small side, but two would be perfectly comfortable (it can hold four, but you’d have to be ready to share your personal space). *There isn't a lot of privacy in the flat - there are no doors between the bedroom, hallway and bathroom*There's no espresso machine because the host thinks that making a coffee in a moka is an integral part of the Italian experience*Guests 3 and 4 would be on a sofa bed in the living room*The TV doesn't have English channels Air ConditioningAmazon PrimeBalconyBlack-Out BlindsBreakfast IncludedBuzzer / Wireless IntercomCarbon Monoxide DetectorCentral HeatingChild FriendlyCoffee Make...More Details

    Ambrosia View

Often, location is the most important consideration when choosing a home, and Ambrosia View has that down. At the end of the street (a gorgeous, cobbled alleyway), you have the Tiber, while Piazza Navona isn’t far in the other direction. The flat itself is small, but there’s no shortage of restaurants and wine bars in the area, so there’s plenty to do if you feel like getting outside. *While there is a double sofa bed, we wouldn't recommend it as it's in the same room as the main bed*This is a studio so space is at a premium*You'll have to take the stairs to the second floor as there's no lift*There's no oven or dishwasher*The only windows are on one side of the room, so it can get dark at the back Air ConditioningBreakfast IncludedBuzzer / Wireless IntercomCarbon Monoxide DetectorCentral HeatingChild FriendlyCot / CribDryerElectricity AdaptorsFanFire ExtinguisherFirst Aid KitFree Parking On PremisesHair DryerHangersHigh ChairIronKitc...More Details

    The Lady of Rome

This penthouse lies in the heart of Rome, with some expansive rooftop views from its cosy terrace. Ideal for small families, friends or couples looking to get to know the city, the decor is traditional and charming, though the low ceilings in some areas may not be suitable for taller guests. Parking here is paid, but if you're not driving, you won't have much problem getting around. There's plenty within walking distance, from restaurants and shops to the River Tiber and the ancient Pantheon. Public transport is also nearby, making it easy to see the sights both near and far. *Some areas of this home have low ceilings. In particular, the second bedroom has slanted ceilings and is best suited to children.*Your host can provide a cot on request.*This home is located in an apartment building in a central spot, so there is a chance you might hear some outside noise during your stay.*While there are stairs in the building (unavoidable at fi...More Details

    Fingertips

Fingertips is in a great position, close to both the Jewish Quarter and Campo de’ Fiori, the home of Rome’s most famous market. The layout of the flat makes it quite a flexible proposition – if the living room needs to be used as a bedroom, it can be closed off from the other communal areas, and you wouldn’t know it wasn’t permanent (except for the sofa bed). All in all, it’s a cute flat, with some nice period furniture, but it’s the location that really lifts it to the next level. *There's a short flight of steps to reach the front door*Unfortunately, this home doesn't have any air conditioning*If six people are staying at once, sharing one bathroom might become a little tedious*The shower is on the small side*The kitchen is a bit short of sockets*There is no TV in this home*There aren't any laundry facilities BathtubBlack-Out BlindsBread MakerBuzzer / Wireless IntercomCentral HeatingCoffee MakerCooking EssentialsCot / CribDishwasher...More Details
