In the warren of alleyways that tangle their way between Piazza Navona and the Tiber, even the approach to Isolda feels essentially Roman. Once inside, you’re surrounded by heavyset original features, which draw you further into the atmosphere. The downside of these old buildings is the lack of natural light, but when that’s the case for every home around, it feels churlish to complain. *The only bathroom is the en-suite*Two people can sleep on a sofa bed, but they wouldn't have much space*Despite the fantastic location, there's no view to speak of* For those who like supported sleep - the mattress here is on the softer side*For longer stays, we recommend bringing your own toiletries - there will be a basic amount to get you started*Some parts of this home may feel a little dated and worn*There is limited storage here - we recommend packing light Air ConditioningBalconyBlack-Out BlindsBuzzer / Wireless IntercomCentral HeatingChild Fr...More Details

The Roman Vision
Exposed Elegance
Curia is full of contrasts – aluminium staircases and heavy wooden ceilings, antique marble window frames and pop art prints, dark furniture and white walls. It’s idiosyncratic, and all the better for it. Outside are the ruins of Largo di Torre Argentina, keeping you close to Rome’s heritage (it’s believed to be the spot where Julius Caesar was assassinated). And while the apartment’s not in absolutely perfect condition, this is very common among old Roman buildings and nothing to be alarmed about. *This home is in a central location, and some guests reported hearing street noise throughout the night – something to be aware of if you're a light sleeper*Some guests found the heating and air-conditioning to be a bit temperamental*The lift is very small – you'll struggle to get a person and a suitcase in there*There are a few small signs of age around the place, though nothing major*Both upstairs bedrooms are fairly open to the bedrooms b...More Details

The understatement on display in this historic house allows some of the warm, textural elements of the design – like the exposed beam ceiling, tiled floors and concrete steps – to sing. Set within a stunning fifteenth-century building, the home is spread over three floors, accessible via a beautiful spiral staircase that eventually emerges in between the three bedrooms up on the second floor. The interior is a largely pared-back affair, with a definite nod to Scandinavian simplicity, but without veering into the impersonal. While the Tiber isn’t actually visible from the front door, but it’s only one street over, and the Castel Sant’Angelo is just a few minutes' walk on the other bank. Elsewhere, you're around five minutes from the ever-popular Piazza Navona and ten to the lively morning market in Campo de' Fiori. *Child-friendly amenities such as a cot, highchair, stairgate and dinnerware are available upon request*The master bedroom ...More Details

History emanates from the walls of this cosy little home in Navona. The structure itself has been well preserved and looked after, with its crossbeam ceiling and wooden doors retaining their rustic charm. Recently renovated, you'll find all the usual mod-cons needed for a comfortable stay too, with a light-filled double bedroom and swanky en-suite bathroom that features a luxurious rainfall shower. While the compact kitchen is better suited for preparing light bites and breakfast, the coffee making station in the living space more than makes up for it. Through to the bedroom, you'll notice the lime green colour scheme, abstract wall art and an antique study area for those keeping one eye on work during their stay.
