    The Roman Vision

Steeped in over a hundred years of history but looking modern enough to have stepped out of a design catalogue, this home combines old and new to create a comfortable space for families. The back garden has seating for everything from alfresco meals to reading in the egg chairs. Though it's a little further from the sights – walk to the Colosseum in fifty minutes or take public transport in less time – the distance makes it more peaceful. Still, you can get to all of Rome's best bits. But be aware that if you're walking, the hill back up to the house might not be kind to tired legs. *At full occupancy, two guests will be sleeping on the sofa bed in the living area.*It's worth noting that the mattresses here are on the firmer side, so not everyone will find them comfortable.*If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a cot and high chair for free. You'll need to request them in advance.*There are stairs to climb here.*...More Details

    Sandalwood - Bergamot

The best thing about this city-centre home in a historic Roman building? It has to be its view of the Trevi fountain, the waters of which are, at the most, twenty metres away. While this is a tourist-trodden landmark, you'll certainly have pride of place when you stay in this traditional apartment.Admirers of wonderfully kitsch decor will love this home, where ditsy patterned wallpaper and antique furniture take centre stage. You'll also find all the practical necessities in the well-outfitted kitchen and comfortable bedroom. After a long day of walking over the seven hills of Rome, this is the perfect spot to kick back and enjoy a good night's sleep. You're well placed to visit the plethora of iconic monuments and landmarks in this historic capital. The Pantheon is just an eight-minute walk away, while you can reach the must-see Colosseum in twenty minutes on foot. You'll pass plenty of pastry shops and cafés en route to refuel. *This ...More Details

Although In Motion seems like a simple home at first glance, it hides a lot of interesting details. It feels as if the rooms were designed with the guest in mind, so aside from the minimalist essentials, you're left with a lot of space to move around, which helps maximise the natural light as well. But there's another side to this home – the perfectly harmonised colours and the well-curated art prove that it's been designed with care and subtlety. Located next to a tram stop on the ancient Via Flaminia, you'll have easy access to the centre. * There is no coffee machine in this home* There is no elevator to this third-floor home – those with limited mobility or heavy suitcases beware* Four guests can sleep in this home, but the last two will need to settle for the sofa bed in the living room* The bedroom has no natural light unfortunately Air ConditioningBoard GamesBuzzer / Wireless IntercomCarbon Monoxide DetectorCentral HeatingChild...More Details

    Fountains of Fun

Moments from the Trevi Fountain, this apartment is a true Roman gem. It's in the heart of the city, so you'll be well-placed here to shop, dine, and sightsee. Even the apartment building, Palazzo Antamoro, has historic ties – it dates back to the mid-1600s and features the Bernini Fountain in its picturesque courtyard. Inside, the two living areas are contemporary and comfortable, and one has a sofa bed for flexible sleeping arrangements. But if you're anything like us, you'll make a beeline for the terrace – it's the perfect spot to enjoy an Aperol Spritz as the sun goes down. *At full capacity, two guests will sleep on the sofa bed in the second sitting room.*If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a cot, high chair, and children's tableware on request.*You'll have access to a shared back garden here. Stay in the centre of Rome and still feel like a local – it sounds almost like an oxymoron, doesn’t it? But at this apartment, just off the main track between the Pantheon and the Jewish Quarter, you’ll find yourself an easy three-minute walk from the Pantheon, five minutes from Piazza Navona, eleven minutes to the Trevi Fountain and twelve minutes to the Roman Forum. But unlike other parts of the city, locals don’t avoid your street – in fact, they dine right near it. Explore the best of Rome from this bright, charming home. We love the parquet flooring and the small but perfectly outfitted patio – it’s the ideal spot for an evening aperitif. If you crave more sunshine, the apartment has access to a shared rooftop patio with beautiful sunset views. And at the end of a long day spent exploring the Eternal city, you’ll find thoughtfully laid out bedrooms with lovingly restored antique furniture. *The air conditioning is only in the li...More Details

    Latin Love

This apartment in Trastevere is ideal for those keen to drop off their bags and head out into the city to explore. Sure, at full occupancy two people will have to take the sofa bed in the living room, but it won’t be at any real expense of lounge space. The terrace is an added bonus here, just the spot for an evening glass of limoncello – it is slightly overlooked by neighbouring homes, but that’s unlikely to worry you as the Italian sun warms your skin. *Parking in Rome can be tricky, so we recommend sticking to the easily accessible public transport where possible. *At full occupancy, two guests will be sleeping on the sofa bed in the living area.*Air conditioning is available in the living room only. *There's no lift here. You'll need to be able to climb stairs to reach the entrance of the home.*The terrace is overlooked by neighbouring homes, so lacks a little privacy. *The ceiling in some areas is on the low side – it might not su...More Details

    Tiramisù Treasure

Every corner of this home is brimming with character. Centrally located, it sits along a quiet alleyway just steps from Tivoli’s main street, nestled amidst ancient architecture and exuding authentic charm from the outset. Its interior has been lovingly restored to complement the grandeur of its medieval setting, furnished with an eclectic array of upcycled furniture and antique decor. High ceilings, sweeping archways and heaps of natural light create a free-flowing ambience primed for relaxation. We especially love the ornately tiled kitchen, fully equipped with all the appliances needed for home cooking and even a cappuccino machine. Delightfully peaceful, this home’s outdoor space beckons you to unwind in the splendour of your surroundings. After restful slumbers, step outside onto the courtyard, shaded by lush foliage, or head up to the terrace to sip your coffee in the sunshine, admiring mountain views before a day of adventure. Viola Cavaliere

This hidden gem, located on the banks of the River Tiber and across the way from Castel Sant'Angelo, is the perfect resting point for a fun-filled Roman adventure. With bright, airy spaces, smartly compact settings, and stunning views, all guests need to do is kick off their shoes and relax before heading out in search of culture and history. When it comes to the beautiful charm of the home, we especially like the curated book collection with works by Jane Austen and F. Scott Fitzgerald. The apartment is in walking distance of Piazza di Spagna, with its many restaurants and bars, making sumptuous breakfasts and candlelit dinners easier than ever.Since many of Rome's most iconic sights are right on your doorstep, touring is a breeze, with the Museo del'Ara Pacis and Mausoleo di Augusto being no more than a four-minute stroll, the Pantheon a mere eight-minute walk, and the Trevi Fountain rounding up to thirteen minutes, among many others,...More Details

    City Vines

A vineyard view isn’t what you expect from an apartment in the heart of Rome, but that’s what you get at this home. The study (or second bedroom) overlooks the vines of Rome’s Botanic Gardens, as though you’re in Tuscany or Chianti rather than the hip suburb of Trastevere. Bars and local trattoria fills the buzzing streets, but this apartment is a haven of calm amidst it all. The interior is a modern medley of soft green and grey, while the exterior boasts the traditional wooden shutters of medieval Italy. Big, arched doors in the master bedroom open up to a private terrace, dappled with greenery and set up with a couple of deckchairs and a drinks table. There’s also a terrace off the living room, with dining for four – perfect for an aperitivo before hitting the bars of Trastevere. *The second bedroom doubles as a study with a single bed and an additional bed available*There's an additional living room with a kitchenette and sofa bed*...More Details

    Gateway to the City

This apartment places you in central Rome and is ideal for work trips and weekend breaks. While the living area is small and storage is tight, both bedrooms are comfortable with fold-out futons for fifth and sixth guests. The location does mean there is the potential for some outside noise, but right on your doorstep, you'll find restaurants and a train station for getting around. There's also on-site parking available for a fee. You're in for a convenient and simple stay here – your host can help arrange airport transfers and someone will meet you when you first arrive to ensure you get settled and answer any questions. *At full capacity, two guests will sleep on fold-out futons – there is one in each bedroom. *Your host can provide a free cot and high chair if you're travelling with little ones. *This home is in an apartment building in a central location – there is a chance you may hear outside noise during your stay. *The stove in...More Details

    The Charms of Rome

Nestled in the heart of Rome, this apartment is all about the location. It’s just a short walk to the Pantheon, Piazza Navona, Spanish Steps, and the Trevi Fountain – all of the city's must-see sights. That said, while the traditional style may not be everyone’s cup of tea and some areas could benefit from a refresh, we love the added extras here. The living room projector promises an authentic movie night experience, while the terrace is just the spot to enjoy an evening aperitif. There's even a desk in the loft if you're in town on business. Just keep in mind the third bedroom is very small, so a maximum of five adults are allowed. *This home can accommodate up to six guests, with a maximum of five adults. Speak to your host for more details. *Given the central spot, expect to hear street noise throughout your stay. *Neighbouring homes overlook this apartment, so it lacks a little privacy. *We think some areas could do with a refre...More Details

    Freschissimo

In most cities, paintings dating back to the seventeenth century are typically looked at from a safe distance in museums and galleries, but in a place like Rome, it's not unusual to live among historic artefacts. Take this studio apartment in the middle of Colonna, the famous shopping district. The building dates back to the seventeenth century and the remains of a fresco from that time have been preserved by the architect on one of the walls. Aside from that, the interior design is heavily influenced by mid-century trends, from the Art Deco crockery in the kitchen and the boldly patterned chairs to the Art Nouveau-inspired mirrors in the bathroom. If your four-century-old home has got you in the mood to see more of the city's illustrious heritage, you're in luck as the central location is excellent. You can walk to Trevi Fountain in seven minutes, while the Pantheon can be seen in just under ten. *There's no TV but the host will provi...More Details

    Verde Cadente

Perched along a quiet cobbled street on the outskirts of bustling Campo de' Fiori, you'll find this Italian villa apartment. While the caramel-coloured exterior and lofty ceilings inside show the bones of this period building, the rest of the apartment is expertly reimagined for modern living. Peer out through the lounge's dual aspect windows with your morning coffee to reveal charming vignettes of balconies tumbling with greenery –? precisely as you'd imagine a traditional Italian street to be. And thanks to its quiet residential locale, you'll be sure to bank a peaceful night's sleep in the pristine bedroom. When it's time to soak up the Roma culture, get off to a flying start with a stroll along Via Giulia (three minutes on foot) –? one of the most beautiful streets in Rome and the perfect spot for a sociable aperitivo. Or for something a little more refined, you're right in the heart of the gourmet district with three Michelin-starr...More Details

    Roman Rustic

This apartment is a comfortable home-from-home in Rome. It stands slightly removed from the crowds of tourists in the centre of the city, but you can still easily see the sights using public transport. The apartment is close to the Vatican City and Villa Doria Pamphili, the largest landscaped public park in Rome – it’s a wonderful spot for a picnic lunch and a stroll. The apartment is equipped with everything you might need, including a desk for those working remotely and a bunk-bed room for little ones. We love the patio, which boasts far-reaching views of the rooftops of Rome. *Bedroom three is set up with bunk beds so is best suited to children.*Your host kindly asks that you respect your neighbours and keep noise to a minimum, especially during the quiet hours of 10pm-8am. *Your host can provide a cot for little ones.*There’s a desk in bedroom two for those working remotely during their stay.*There’s no washing machine at this home...More Details

Tempus has pretty much everything going for it. Not only is it in the very centre of Monti (on a backstreet though, so it’s pretty quiet), but the design shows off a lovely mix of original brick archways and modern, almost industrial touches. The enormous kitchen island is a dream, and we haven’t come across many more inviting bathrooms than the little grotto here. It’s very bright, thanks to the plate glass windows, but these also bring about the only flaw we could find – you’re definitely in a bit of a fishbowl. *There are floor-to-ceiling windows that look out directly onto the street at ground level*The entire flat's very open and there's no privacy between bedrooms*Two guests will be sleeping in the sofa bed in the living room Air ConditioningBathtubBuzzer / Wireless IntercomCarbon Monoxide DetectorCentral HeatingChild FriendlyCoffee MakerCooking EssentialsDishwasherElectricity AdaptorsExtra Pillows and BlanketsFire ExtinguisherF...More Details

    The Cool of Rome

A mere five minutes' walk from Campidoglio and Piazza Venezia, the prime position of this Rome home is incredible, but perhaps what's more impressive is that despite the central location, guests here get the run of an expansive palazzo that wouldn't look out of place in the Italian countryside.Spread across three levels, you're actually looking at two independent apartments stacked on top of the other, although it's perfectly easy to share these spaces if you're coming in a large group. The first is on the ground floor, where you'll find high ceilings, a large dining room and a pair of wooden doors that lead out to an equally spacious terrace complete with plenty of shady seating. The next two levels above this comprise the second apartment. The same contemporary approach to design has been embraced, but there are a couple of standout features up here — namely the Jacuzzi and sauna in the master bedroom that you have to hope the occupant...More Details

    Roman Primer

Located on the second floor of a period building, this apartment is well-placed for exploring the city. At full capacity, one guest will sleep on the double sofa bed in the second bedroom – we think this home is well-suited to a couple looking for a romantic break, or friends travelling together. The private balcony, while small, has enough room to sit out with a drink or an alfresco snack. The kitchen is equipped with modern amenities for cooking up delicious meals, but you'll find restaurants and shops within easy walking distance, along with hotspots like the Pantheon and the Campidoglio and Capitolini Museums. *Parking in Rome can be tricky, so we recommend sticking to the easily accessible public transport where possible. *Your host can provide a free cot and high chair here if you're travelling with little ones. Violet Haze

Just a four-minute walk from the Roman Forum and nine minutes from the Colosseum, it makes sense that this home, located in Monti, is set in the first neighbourhood of Rome where the city is said to have been founded. Today you’ll find winding cobblestone streets, craft shops, bustling bars and traditional restaurants lining the charming alleys and squares that end in beautiful churches and Roman ruins alike. Returning home, the stately entryway to the building feels like a grand hotel, and inside your apartment, you’ll find an authentic space bursting with style. Exposed wooden beams and Roman arches are paired with elegant furnishings and your host’s careful eye for detail. After a day on your feet, kick back on the plush purple sofa before retiring to your bedroom – which even has its own little cloister. You’ll also have a private patio, with a beautiful stone fountain and plenty of greenery for a breath of fresh air in the morning...More Details

    Three Stags

While you can’t actually see the Vatican walls from Three Stags, turn right out of the door and walk about twenty metres and they’re right there. It’s a great location, which is fitting as it’s a great flat. Rather than seeking to preserve a crumbling old flat, Valeria’s recently redone the whole place, updating it without losing the character of the original place. There’s tonnes of space, given that it only has one bedroom, so having a couple of extra people sleeping in the living room is no problem (though three might be a squeeze). *Two people can sleep on a sofa bed in the living room. Roman Pastoral

Roman Pastoral is unlike anything else in our Roman collection. It’s an enormous villa in the countryside outside the city, among hills and forests and volcanic lakes. The gardens are something else, set over multiple levels with lawns, trees, a pool, a reservoir, even a place to play football. The interior is a bit old-fashioned, but honestly, that’s kind of the point. You can imagine that you’re a nineteenth-century noble, retiring to their country house for the summer. *Parco dei Castelli Romani, where this house is, is about a forty-minute drive from the city*The size of the house and the thick walls mean that the wi-fi doesn't extend to any of the bedrooms*A full-time housekeeper lives nearby*The pool is not accessible all year round, but from June to September*You won't find a manual or handbook for this home, but your host should be on hand if you have any issues BalconyBarbequeBathtubBeach / Pool TowelsBlack-Out BlindsBoard Ga...More Details

    Sistina Ark

In interior design circles, this apartment in northern Rome would be described as industrial-chic — illumination comes from minimalist light-bulb fittings, you can store clothes in repurposed cabinets and trunks, and the floor is covered in faded tiling. In the middle of the space sits a comfy, no-thrills bed. Everything about the space screams function — it was designed by the host, who is also an architect — and a stay here will help you have a seamless experience in the Italian capital. As well as offering daily cleaning, the location puts you within a short walk of some of the city's main attractions. Vatican City can be reached in five minutes on foot, while in the other direction, Castel Sant'Angelo and Parco della Mole Adriana are both a ten-minute walk. *The building doesn't have a lift, so you'll have to take the stairs to the first floor — this might not be suitable for guests with limited mobility*As the flat's tucked away a...More Details

    The Roman Flower

Warm and welcoming, this apartment makes for an excellent base for those seeking a slower pace in Rome. It’s just a few steps from Villa Borghese and its pretty gardens, close to the most popular tourist spots but without the crowds. You can easily explore the city using public transport, though you don’t need to travel far for great food – Pinciano Market is only 20 metres away. The Falling Stones

Elegant and unique, this home makes for an excellent base in Tuscany. It’s in the village of Impruneta on the outskirts of Florence, surrounded by countryside, olive groves and vineyards – it also borders the Chianti Classico region. The centre of Florence is only 13 kilometres away, making day trips a breeze. The decor is traditional, with antiques at every turn, so it may not suit everyone. But for a break to Italy that feels a little like stepping back in time, it’s a great choice. *There’s free uncovered parking approximately 100m from this home.*At full occupancy, two guests will be sleeping on a sofa bed in the living room.*This is a traditional home full of antiques – the decor won’t be to everyone’s taste.*This home is on the first floor of a building with no lift, and is spread over two levels. Just a seven-minute walk to Trevi Fountain and the famous Spanish Steps – you really couldn't be better placed in the Eternal City. A wander around the immediate neighbourhood will take you to designer shops and hidden wine bars for a glass of Barolo. In a quiet courtyard that's away from the bustling tourists, there's a local and authentic feel to the home while still being close to the city's most beloved attractions. Back inside, you'll find a fresh and functional space benefitting from plush leather sofas and a stylish white dining area with tasteful artwork adorning the walls. But the real draw of this home is the shaded terrace – complete with an elegant dining area. We can think of no better way to start the day than with a basket of pastries and your morning coffee out here. *The terrace is shared with another home (a...More Details

    The Colosuite

This stylish apartment sits right in the heart of Rome, less than a five-minute walk from the Colosseum. The host loves local art and this passion can be seen throughout the home. The furniture has been made by Italian craft companies and unique art pieces adorn the walls, including a number of different frescoes — the one in the place of a window in the living room is a reproduction of a similar piece found in the Villa of Livia. We love the bold wallpaper prints in the bedroom too, creating an artsy yet cosy spot to unwind in the evening. This is just one of the nods to Rome’s ancient history, alongside the framed plaster casts hanging on the walls. The windows look out onto an internal courtyard, which lends a peaceful air of seclusion to the living space. There's even a small closed balcony with hanging plants if you want a breath of fresh air with your morning coffee. Aside from the aforementioned amphitheatre, this address is also...More Details

    The Roman Nights

This cosy apartment in San Lorenzo is perfect for couples looking to explore Rome. That said, it can sleep up to four guests – but two will draw the short straw and be sleeping on the sofa bed in the living room. It’s also worth noting that the bedroom is on a mezzanine level, so at full occupancy, privacy is limited. With a stripped-back, fuss-free style, it may not be to everyone’s taste, but with easy access to public transport, it’s ideal for exploring the city. *Parking in Rome can be tricky, so we recommend sticking to the easily accessible public transport where possible. *The bedroom is on the mezzanine level and semi-open to the space below, so privacy is limited. The ceiling in some areas is on the low side on this level – it might not be suitable for taller guests.*At full occupancy, two guests will be sleeping on the sofa bed in the living area.*You won't find an oven here – though there is a hob. We think the kitchen is be...More Details
