    Trastevere Stripes

Located in Rome’s wonderfully scenic and beautifully bohemian Trastevere neighbourhood, this welcoming apartment is just the ticket for those looking for an authentic stay neighboured by traditional trattorias, craft beer pubs and artisan shops galore. Housed in a coral-coloured building along a cobblestone street, you’ll find this charming home laid out over two floors with a beamed mezzanine bedroom and an eclectically designed living area downstairs, replete with terracotta tile floors and plenty of rustic charm. Start mornings with fresh coffee and locally bought pastries at the cosy dining table and spend evenings on the striped sofa with a glass of Italian wine. Soft Shading

Before we even arrived at Soft Shading, we were struck by the location. It’s so close to the Trevi fountain that the only danger is you’ll end up stuck among all the tourists. It’s very new inside, and the modern fittings contrast nicely with some of the original structural features, like the ceilings. The only drawback is the slightly inadequate living room, upstairs, and without space for a full house, but as it’s right in the middle of the city, you won’t be spending much time in. *There's no real living room, certainly not one that can hold nine people*The dining table is only big enough for four people *The shower in the third bedroom is only 190cm high – tall guests might have to duck a little*One guest will have to sleep on a sofa bed*There are a total of 17 steps from the street level to the actual entrance of the property Air ConditioningBlack-Out BlindsBreakfast IncludedBuzzer / Wireless IntercomCentral HeatingChild Friendly...More Details

    Nauticalia

Nauticalia is set just a couple of hundred metres from Piazza di Spagna, giving it the perfect location for people who are in Rome to do a bit of that famous sightseeing. That’s not the only thing going for it, as the apartment boasts some lovely design elements, such as the frescoed ceiling or the marine theme in the bathroom, and the huge beds will keep you comfortable. The kitchen, despite having some wonderful exposed brickwork, is pretty small and basic, but there are so many places to eat in the area that you won’t even notice. *The kitchen is enclosed in a cabinet so it's pretty small*The wi-fi works but can be slow as you get further from the router*Guests 5 and 6 will be on a sofa bed in the living room Air ConditioningBuzzer / Wireless IntercomCafetiereCarbon Monoxide DetectorCentral HeatingCoffee MakerCooking EssentialsDishwasherDryerEspresso MachineExtra Pillows and BlanketsFree Parking On StreetFreezerFridgeHair DryerHang...More Details

    Roman Haven

This third-floor apartment is perfectly placed for getting to know Rome, boasting a private balcony overlooking the street. There is the potential for some noise and parking outside may be tricky, but you'll have public transport nearby and attractions like the Basilica of Santa Maria are an easy walk away. The kitchen is fully equipped but quite small, and storage throughout is limited so we think it's best for short breaks or work trips. At full capacity, two guests will sleep on the comfy sofa bed, and your host can provide a free cot and high chair to make travelling with little ones a breeze. *Parking in Rome can be tricky, so we recommend sticking to easily accessible public transport where possible. *This home is in an apartment building in a central location, so there is a chance you might hear some outside noise during your stay. *Your host can provide a free cot and high chair here if you're travelling with little ones. Moda Gialla

Sitting just north of Vatican City and Rome’s Prati neighbourhood, this colourful apartment offers an ideal base from which to explore the area’s most famous sights. Laid out over two floors and bursting with vibrant shades of yellow, red and blue, this stylish base invites sociable mornings around the table – over fresh espressos and locally bought pastries – and chilled out evenings on the sofa, a glass of Italian wine in hand. The bedrooms have been stylishly curated with funky feature walls and comfortable beds, while the pair of bathrooms with their plethora of plants ensure mornings get off without a hitch ahead of a busy day of sightseeing. Speaking of exploring, make a beeline for upscale Prati with its high-end boutiques, alfresco wine bars and gourmet restaurants, and discover the historic Castel Sant'Angelo, 1 kilometre away. Pantheon Vista

It’s hard to define the ‘perfect’ location in Rome, but Pantheon Vista makes a good go of it. Overlooking the famous dome, it’s just a stone’s throw from sights like Campo de’ Fiori and institutions like Caffè Sant’Eustachio. The interior is elegant, although the lack of natural light in the kitchen is a shame given the lovely cabinets and fittings. Two of the sofas double up as single beds, and the host is happy to have a party of four, but we think it might get a bit cramped and there’d be very little privacy, so only recommend it for two people. *There are no bedside tables*The layout of the flat makes the kitchen quite dark*Tall guests beware - the highest shower is 195cm*Wile the host is happy to have four guests, we think that it would be most comfortable with two Air ConditioningBlack-Out BlindsBuzzer / Wireless IntercomCentral HeatingChild FriendlyCoffee MakerCooking EssentialsDishwasherDryerFridgeHair DryerHangersIronKitchenK...More Details

    A Roman Affair

This penthouse apartment grabbed our attention for its panoramic views over Rome from the rooftop terrace. Laid out over two storeys, you’ll have two living rooms and two kitchens here, as well as a choice of indoor and outdoor dining areas – perfect for enjoying a meal cooked by a private chef, which your host can arrange. Designed by accomplished artist and interior designer, Francesca Squillante Montoro (also known as Tompiy), the home also boasts bespoke furnishings, eye-catching artwork, a small gym, and a collection of lush plants. Location-wise, you’re in the Prati area of the city, known for its wide streets and gourmet restaurants, and within a twenty-minute walk of many of Rome’s iconic landmarks. *The penthouse is split across the building's fourth and fifth floors – it comprises two en-suite bedrooms on the fourth floor, and three bedrooms on the fifth floor. *If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a c...More Details

    Northern Wood

In one of the prettiest streets of the city, Northern Wood is not far from the Campo de’ Fiori market, as well as vast numbers of good restaurants and bars. The simple and linear design not only fosters a sense of calm, but also brings to mind a Scandi-rustic feel, with the original stone floors and the wooden ceilings. It’s worth bearing in mind though that the building is very old - great for a cosy atmosphere, less great for accessibility and natural light. *There is no lift to the apartment and the stairs a quite steep*The kitchen is right at the entrance and doesn't have any windows*The dark ceiling and small windows don't let a lot of natural light in*Guests 3 and 4 will be on a sofa bed in the living room Air ConditioningBicyclesBuzzer / Wireless IntercomCarbon Monoxide DetectorCentral HeatingChild FriendlyCoffee MakerCooking EssentialsCot / CribDishwasherExtra Pillows and BlanketsFire ExtinguisherFirst Aid KitFridgeHair DryerH...More Details

    Centurion Rose

With high ceilings, tonnes of space and beautiful floors (both stone and parquet), Centurion Rose eschews flamboyance for a more elegant, sober aesthetic. The flat isn’t particularly bright – Via Palermo outside is narrow, and has high buildings – but there’s enough light to get by, and the street is beautiful enough that we’ll forgive it. Everything, from the kitchen chairs, to the curtains, to the rainfall shower, is high quality and it all makes sense – functionality isn’t an afterthought. *Not much natural light gets in*There's no TV in the living room – instead it's in the bedroom*Guests 3 and 4 will be on a sofa bed in the living room*City taxes are not included in the price of the stay and will be collected in person upon check-in Air ConditioningBathtubBlack-Out BlindsBuzzer / Wireless IntercomCentral HeatingDishwasherDryerFridgeHair DryerHangersIronIroning BoardKitchenKitchen UtensilsLaptop Friendly WorkspaceLift AccessLuxury...More Details

The Flaminio quartiere sits in a bend of the River Tiber and lays claim to this classic Roman apartment. The interiors are 1930s inspired with vintage furnishings, rich dark wood accents and original terrazzo floors. After an industrious day exploring the Eternal City, we loved disappearing into what can only be described as a king-sized sofa, designed by Philippe Starck. Sip a cappuccino by the window overlooking the Monte Mario Observatory or take a seat at the dining table and enjoy a traditional cornetto. While you’re a fifteen-minute car ride to the centre of Rome, there’s plenty to do in your locale. In the summer, catch an outdoor movie at the Cinema Titian Roma, ten-minutes walk to the north, with the striking MAXXI contemporary art and architecture museum right next door. The manicured lawns of Villa Borghese are located twenty minutes south – perfect for picnics and afternoon strolls. Closer to home, you’ll find traditional wi...More Details

    Renaissance Romance

Spread across three floors and boasting a private terrace, this Trastevere apartment is an absolute winner. If you're anything like us, you'll make a beeline for the outdoor space – it's the perfect spot to enjoy an Aperol Spritz while gazing at the neighbourhood's rooftops. Inside, the antique furniture and character features give the whole pad a traditional feel – but that's all part of the charm. With two lounges, a dining room, and a collection of cosy bedrooms, you'll also have plenty of space. We love the location, too. This is one of Rome's prettiest (and oldest) districts, home to artisan shops, local trattorias, and a bohemian atmosphere that's hard to resist. *This home is in a building without an elevator. The entrance is located on the second floor, and the apartment itself is spread across three levels.*Some of the antique furniture here is a little dated and may not suit everyone's tastes.*This home does not accept groups...More Details

    Phosphorescence

The living room of this central Rome apartment is an instantly welcoming space, with the building's historical features, such as the double-height ceilings, herringbone terracotta tiles, and exposed brickwork, cleverly incorporated into what is otherwise a modern interior. We appreciated some of the hi-tech features, like the accent lighting and the video projector in the loft space that's perfect for a movie marathon. It’s the kind of home that could keep you occupied even if you were housebound, so it almost doesn’t seem fair that so many of the Eternal City's most iconic sights are within such easy reach and will no doubt occupy much of your time. Trevi Foutain, for instance, can be walked to in eight minutes, while the Pantheon is half that distance in the opposite direction. *The dark ceilings and small windows mean that there isn't a lot of natural light about the place, although there's plenty of ambient lighting to compensate*...More Details

    Forza Vita

This unique home is ideal for large groups. It’s a whole building divided into four separate apartments, so up to eighteen guests can stay together while also having their own space – though four guests will be sleeping on sofa beds. The steep stone stairs aren’t suitable for those with reduced mobility – or heavy suitcases – but those stairs mean that the views from the outside spaces are pretty special. Best of all, you’re just a short stroll from the Pantheon and Piazza Navona, with all the sights of the city within easy reach. *There’s free on-street parking here*Your host can provide a cot for little ones*This home is comprised of a building divided into four apartments with two double rooms each *At full occupancy, four guests will be sleeping on sofa beds*There are lots of steep stone stairs to climb here and no lift – this home may not be suitable for those with reduced mobility*There’s self-check-in at this home Air Condition...More Details

    Cesare's City

A short walk from Vatican City and right around the corner from the Ottaviano Metro stop, this apartment places you in a prime position for exploring some of the city's top highlights. Set on the third floor, you'll benefit from pleasant views of the lively streets below, while being far removed from the hustle and bustle. Inside, the open-plan layout and colourful decor create a lovely space to hang out and socialise with your group – as long as two guests don't mind sleeping on the sofa bed in the living area. *At full occupancy, two people will be sleeping on a double sofa bed in the living area.*Parking in Rome can be tricky, so we recommend sticking to easily accessible public transport where possible. Any discussion of Savannah has to start with the roof terrace, a little rectangle of serenity nestled in the rooftops of Trastevere. There is furniture up there and even a canopy, so you can relax while hiding from the midday sun. The interior is simple but charming, with a working fireplace in the living room - perfect for those cosy winter nights. The bathroom is a little basic - especially if it’s being shared by four - and it’s worth noting that there is no lift in the building, but otherwise Savannah is a lovely base in Rome's most bohemian neighbourhood. *Get ready for some climbing - there's no lift and the apartment's on the second floor*The stairs to the terrace is quite narrow with a low ceiling*If the apartment receives all four guests, they'll have to share one bathroom Air ConditioningBalconyBlack-Out BlindsBuzzer / Wireless IntercomCarbon Monoxide DetectorCentral HeatingChild FriendlyCoffee MakerCooking EssentialsCot / C...More Details

    Starry Eyes

Just a few steps away from the hive of activity that is the Campo de’ Fiori square and its market lies Starry Eyes, a spread-out apartment with ample space for large groups of friends and friends. Brightly lit, the tall windows overlooking Corso Vittorio Emanuele and Piazza San Pantaleo let in plenty of light throughout the day and fill the space with fresh air. Step out onto the corner balcony as you sip your morning coffee and watch the world go by. We particularly love the antique dining table – be sure to share an Italian feast of dreams when it comes to mealtimes. Despite the home's central location, you'll find peace and quiet here, making it the perfect escape to return to after a day of pizza-fuelled sightseeing. Having said that, you won't have to venture far to discover the treasures of Rome – as you'll be stationed just 500 metres away from Piazza Navona and 600 metres away from the Pantheon. *You may experience a bit of no...More Details

    Roman Standard

Right on the edge of Campo Marzio, Roman Standard is in an enviable position among some of the smartest boutiques in Italy. It’s tucked under the eaves, so it’s worth noting that parts of the ceiling slope down and are therefore quite low. In the end though, this adds to the cosy feel of the whole place – there’s even a fireplace to keep you warm if you’re there during winter (it’s also there in summer, you’re just less likely to need it). *There's no shower, only a bath*Antonio might not be there to greet you personally, but self-check-in is easy enough*The boiler is on display in bathroom*It's seventy-seven steps up to the door of the apartment, with no lift*The bins are at the bottom of the stairs, in the atrium to the building*Some of the rooms are under the eaves so there are parts of the ceiling that are quite low*Two people can sleep on a sofa bed in the living room Air ConditioningBathtubBlack-Out BlindsBuzzer / Wireless Inter...More Details

Natural light fills pretty much every corner of this apartment – a real feat, considering it's tucked down a Trastevere alleyway. Inspired by Joch's Dutch roots, expect to find white-washed wood floors, crisp cream walls and cleanly-designed furniture inside. You'll feel an immediate sense of calm and serenity as you step through the front door, but there's plenty of character, too – think leafy plants, colourful cushions, shelves lined with art books and Joch's photos hanging in the bedroom. After a long day, we loved resting our feet on the blue chaise lounge with a glass of wine (Joch leaves a bottle for you to enjoy on arrival), listening to podcasts on the built-in wireless speakers and catching up on our favourite shows on Netflix and Apple TV. It's a true home from home, right in the heart of the city. And most of all, we loved the location. The Terrace Palermo

Classical Roman style is on full display at The Terrace Palermo. From the grand piano, the antiques, the artwork, and even the rustic structure itself send a rush to the head as you enter – it’s not the kind of place you'll forget in a hurry. It’s unashamedly ornate, and over-the-top but deliciously so. Sit down in the regal living room with a good book, while noticing the ornamental fireplace, frescoed ceiling and 17th-century paintings. Those working from home during their stay will find a traditional reading room that will have you powering through like never before. To stay here is to move into a bygone era of Roman refinement and sophistication. And this is all before you even reach the rooftop sun terrace – from here, you can look across the picturesque skyline, taking in the Colosseum on one side and the Presidential Palace on the other. It comes complete with all the different types of garden furniture, from a dining table and c...More Details

    Roman Dream

This apartment in central Rome is full of surprises. You'll find it tucked away in a former 17th-century palace, but despite the bevvy of traditional features, the whole pad has a contemporary feel – we're talking neon signs, a crystal staircase, and all the modern comforts you'll need. Downstairs, a wellness area is ideal for relaxing, but the biggest gem of all is the private inner courtyard, perfect for alfresco aperitifs. We love the location, too. Via dei Coronari is a few steps away – famous for its antique shops – with many other landmarks reachable on foot, including Piazza Navona and the Trevi Fountain. *Pets weighing 8kg and under are allowed to join you here.*The seventh guest will sleep on a single sofa bed.*Please note that two of the bedrooms are located in the basement. These rooms are near the boiler, which can be a tad noisy.*This home has an independent entrance off of Via dei Coronari.*Daily cleaning is provided duri...More Details

    Take Flight

There are 'holiday homes' and holiday 'homes' – while the first functions as little more than a bed for the night, the second offers you a chance to experience a more authentic, everyday experience in your destination of choice. This cosy, city-centre apartment definitely falls into the latter category, and it's all the better for it. Of course, there are places you could stay closer to the most famous tourist sights, but here you have the chance to get stuck into real Roman life. Testaccio is the historic home of Rome's slaughterhouses. Once upon a time, its distinctive offal-based cuisine was served out of necessity. Nowadays, it has been elevated to a gourmet delicacy. For lunch, walk ten minutes to Trentatre, a chic cafeteria-style restaurant that serves up wholesome, seasonal dishes at incredibly competitive prices. For food on the go, pick up a trapizzino – a pizza pocket stuffed with sweetmeats. Alternatively, grab a seat at Chec...More Details

Walk to the Vatican Museum in just ten minutes when you stay at this elegant apartment. Admire the Sistine Chapel with its 16th-century ceiling paintings by Michelangelo or take some pictures of the magnificent St. Peter's Basilica. The high-end boutiques in Via Cola di Rienzo, on the other hand, are a twenty-five-minute stroll, while Castel Sant'Angelo is just a few minutes further – check out the amazing vistas of the Eternal City from its roof terrace. Claudia, your host, can arrange tours or make restaurant reservations to ensure you get the most from your vacation. Back at this abode, rustle up a classic Roman dish like cacio e pepe (pasta with pecorino and pepper) in the modern kitchen, or get some rest in the pretty bedrooms after a busy day of sightseeing. Claudia’s friendliness and personality elevate this home beyond simply a comfortable home, and her attention to detail is impeccable. These are the kind of things that make su...More Details

As well as being ideally located in one of the prettiest and most central squares in Rome, this apartment is also within walking distance from pretty much every major tourist attraction. For example, you'll find yourself less than five minutes' walk from the Pantheon and Piazza Navona, nine minutes from the Trevi Fountain, and twenty-five minutes to the Colosseum. You've also got plenty of eateries nearby to refuel after a long day of exploring – favourites include seafood linguine at La Tavernetta 48 and creative bruschetta and seasonal dishes at Michelin-recommended CiPASSO – both of which are within a two-minute walk. We'd suggest you pick this home based on location alone, but luckily the classically Roman interior has its own charms. It might not be one for the cutting-edge minimalist, but with high ceilings, antique furniture and tiled floors throughout, there's plenty of character on show here. Finally, there's a lovely big kitch...More Details
