    Authentic Italian village house

Take a break from the heat and the bustle of the big city of Rome and experience living and remote working in an authentic Italian village, in your cozy home in Nemi. Nemi is located in the Alban Hills, a quiescent volcanic complex just outside (approx 20 km southeast) of Rome. The hills, especially around the shores of the lakes, have been popular since prehistoric times, and there are numerous villages and towns, . the Castelli Romani. Boasting wonderful views over the Roman countryside from its perch high above the lake with which it shares its name, beautiful Nemi is one of the Castelli`s must-visit destinations. The tiny historic centre is a character-filled tangle of narrow streets unfolding around imposing Palazzo Ruspoli and the adjacent piazza. Besides the spectacular panoramas, Nemi`s real draw is the local variety of strawberry: smaller than your average fragola, these little gems are bursting with flavour and can be...More Details

    Take Me Away

Where do you start with this graceful yet modern apartment? Maybe the view of the Colosseum? Perhaps the unusual but brilliant combination of classic, vintage, and glam? Or we could talk about how well-equipped the place is, from the smart electrics system to the luxurious rainfall showers? Serve breakfast around the charming dining table and pour yourself a coffee from the complimentary pod machine. Stroll around the palazzo, taking in the rustic beauty of the place. Sink into the sofa in the master bedroom, admiring the floral design and beauty of the boiserie with a quiet cuppa. We’ll just say that it’s a fantastic home, in a beautiful building, in one of the best areas in the city. Just a fifteen-minute walk to the Colosseum, under thirty minutes (on foot) to Trevi Fountain, as well as being surrounded by authentic bistros, fine-dining restaurants and classy cafés – the limoncello is never far from hand here. *The door to the lift ...More Details

    Renaissance Romance

Spread across three floors and boasting a private terrace, this Trastevere apartment is an absolute winner. If you're anything like us, you'll make a beeline for the outdoor space – it's the perfect spot to enjoy an Aperol Spritz while gazing at the neighbourhood's rooftops. Inside, the antique furniture and character features give the whole pad a traditional feel – but that's all part of the charm. With two lounges, a dining room, and a collection of cosy bedrooms, you'll also have plenty of space. We love the location, too. This is one of Rome's prettiest (and oldest) districts, home to artisan shops, local trattorias, and a bohemian atmosphere that's hard to resist. *This home is in a building without an elevator. The entrance is located on the second floor, and the apartment itself is spread across three levels.*Some of the antique furniture here is a little dated and may not suit everyone's tastes.*This home does not accept groups...More Details

    Over the Tiber

Placed right in the beating heart of the upmarket Prati district, and just steps away from the Vatican, it’s hard to imagine a better location for this stylish apartment with a terrace. Regular visitors to Rome will know that Prati, perched above the Vatican and across the Tiber, is the place to be. Within its wide, sweeping avenues and elegant buildings, there's high-end shopping and cool restaurants aplenty, but less of the crowds. Back at home, you’ll be surprised how spacious and light this home feels, thanks to those lofty, exposed beam ceilings and doors opening out onto a terrace (a rare treat for a property this central). Start your day by firing up the coffee machine as you wait for breakfast to be delivered straight to your door (all included in the stay). Then head outside for a tête-à-tête at the bistro table as you hatch plans for your day ahead. Just don’t hang around too long, the Eternal City is waiting. *Luggage drop-o...More Details

    Looking Backward

Escape to Rome in this charming apartment, ideal for a romantic break. The unique round bed is the home's centrepiece, and while there isn't a regular TV here, the projector screen turns the living space into your very own home cinema. The kitchen is small and best suited to light snacks, but there's an array of restaurants right on your doorstep for tucking into the local cuisine. Hotspots like Rome's Botanical Garden, the River Tiber, and the ancient Pantheon aren't far to walk, so you won't need to worry about driving here. If you do wish to explore a little further afield though, you'll find public transport nearby. *Parking in Rome can be tricky, so we recommend sticking to the easily accessible public transport where possible. *This home is on the third floor with no lift, so climbing stairs will be required here.*This home is in an apartment building in a central location, so there is a chance you might hear some outside noise d...More Details

    Northern Wood

In one of the prettiest streets of the city, Northern Wood is not far from the Campo de’ Fiori market, as well as vast numbers of good restaurants and bars. The simple and linear design not only fosters a sense of calm, but also brings to mind a Scandi-rustic feel, with the original stone floors and the wooden ceilings. Two Wheels

This apartment may be in the heart of Rome, but there’s something distinctly country-chic about the decor. Period pieces – dressers, doors and the kitchen table – are all rough white-washed and feel rustic. The sound system is vintage, and the armchairs in the living room are upholstered in gloriously kitsch floral patterns. The jewel in the crown of the apartment is the sprawling outdoor terrace, which has sofas in sunny spots for a dose of vitamin D, and shaded nooks under parasols for when the heat gets too much. The bamboo pergola covered a couple of outdoor gas hobs, so you can cook and dine alfresco. Flowers and pot plants bloom for every corner and climb trellises for a bit of privacy. If you want to know just how central you are, just head out to the downstairs balcony and spot the Colosseum at the end of your street. *There's no lift and the flat is on the third floor of the building*We found a few scuff marks on the walls, pa...More Details

    The Garden Mill

Located in a quiet corner of Rome’s bohemian Travestere neighbourhood, this stylish apartment offers a calm and relaxing base from which to explore the city’s most famous sights. Distinctly modern with its dusky blue feature wall, wood floors and contemporary decor, the open-plan living area is a sociable space in which you’ll feel right at home. Make yourself comfortable on the sofa with your morning coffee, enjoying the breeze flowing through the open glass door. Here, you’ll find three steps leading out onto a private sun-baked terrace – the ideal spot to catch some rays on the loungers or to gather for an alfresco meal around the outdoor table. The study – which acts as a second bedroom – is the perfect spot to retreat for some quiet reading or to catch up on work at the desk space with its views of the communal garden, while the main bedroom is pared-back yet elegant and boasts a luxurious en-suite complete with a rainfall shower...More Details

    On the Mount

On the top floor of an old palazzo in Ponte – this home has two beautiful terraces, with plants, tables, sun-loungers, even a sofa, not to mention the view over the rooftops of Rome. It's the perfect place for enjoying the sunset with a drink. The splendid vistas can also be admired from one of the two living rooms. We love the collection of antique books, old beams and vaulted ceilings in this elegant apartment. Out and about, have a stroll around this authentic Roman neighbourhood, with its charming streets and history dating back to the Renaissance. Pretty Piazza Navona is just a three-minute wander, while the Pantheon is ten minutes on foot. It's just over a fifteen-minute walk to attractions such as St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican City, Castel Sant'Angelo and the Trevi Fountain. Terracotta Haven

Set among two acres of olive groves and ancient trees, this country home allows for relaxation and tranquillity whilst still being well-connected to Rome, Tivoli and more. Gateway to Rome

When you think of Rome, architecture will likely come to mind, but the city is also known for picturesque gardens, a thriving art scene, and the most incredible food. This home, located on a quiet road in the Monti area, puts you right in the heart of The Eternal City and therefore, on the doorstep of all the things that make it great. Start by exploring Piazza Santa Madonna dei Monti, only a minute away, as you wind your way towards the notable sights. Sit outside of coffee shops, people watching as you sip your cappuccino from under an umbrella, before checking out the local shops. See the Colosseum, Forum, Arch of Constantine, and many more historical landmarks in all their glory just by wandering ten-minutes away from home. With so much to see, you might be rushing from one landmark to another, so take a time out with a relaxing walk through the scenic Parco del Colle Oppio – if there happens to be a gelato vendor along the way, all...More Details

    Unicorn's Mane

On a quiet street near San Giovanni in Laterano, this eclectic apartment offers a haven to return to after a day in the bustling centre. Though the neighbourhood is quiet, you’re still only a fifteen-minute stroll away from the Colosseum and Roman Forum. If you don’t fancy stretching your legs, the Manzoni metro station is a three-minute walk, putting all of Rome at your fingertips. This loft apartment is a mix of glamour and kitsch – think gilded mirrors, leopard-print throws and thick, red velvet curtains. Though the arched windows and exposed beam ceiling reassure that you’re in an old quarter of Rome. The eclectic fireplace set in a traditional mantle is a nice homely touch too. *While there is a double sofa bed, there's no separation between that and the upstairs bed, so we wouldn't recommend using it*The bathroom is really very small*Not everyone will fall for the kitsch design theme*Though there is no official, set welcome packa...More Details

    Centurion Stag

Set on one of the most characterful streets in Monti, there’s a surprising sense of calm in this apartment. You’re right in the thick of it here, with the Colosseum a fifteen-minute walk in one direction, and twelve minutes to the Trevi Fountain in the other. The surrounding streets are brimming with pizzerias, local trattoria selling carbonara by the mound and pavement cafés spilling into piazzas. Yet the apartment itself is a haven of calm. In true Italian style, the sofa is leather and depictions of Rome on the gallery-white walls are a reminder of exactly where you are. A sleek, modern kitchen has everything you need to rustle up a plate of pasta for dinner. Or, you can head out to the many eateries in the area. You’re spoilt for choice in Monti. *All of the windows face onto the internal courtyard, so there's no view to speak of*The flat doesn't get a lot of natural light – there are only three windows in the whole place*Two peopl...More Details

    A Pile of Crowns

If you're planning a trip to Rome but are not so keen on the traditional homes that make up a lot of the options, we would point you in the direction of this contemporary apartment.Against an effortlessly cool backdrop of stark white walls and tiled flooring, much of the interior design embraces industrial-chic trends, from the bare lightbulbs hanging from the ceiling and the chalkboard on the kitchen wall to the bright yellow stools at the kitchen surface. We're also big fans of the Basquiat artworks and the sleek bathroom. In keeping with this stylish interior, the home sits on the trendier side of the Tiber in the neighbourhood of Trastevere, full of fashionable trattorias and photogenic alleyways. If you fancy giving in to your inner tourist at any point, many of the big-hitters aren't far away. Both Piazza Navona and the Pantheon can be seen in twenty minutes' walk, while Castel Sant'Angelo takes just over a quarter of an hour on fo...More Details

There isn’t much that’s more Italian than a Vespa, and Farobasso has two of them. These are the most eye-catching vintage objects in the apartment, but there are many more - the host has tied the theme together nicely. The entire place has been recently redone, and you can tell from the excellent condition it’s in - the bathrooms in particular feel spotless. However, Farobasso is a way out of the historic centre. It might be well-placed to visit the Vatican, but to get to the Trevi fountain, or the Colosseum, you might be tempted to commandeer one of the scooters. *Despite being well-placed for the Vatican, Aurelio isn't a very central part of the city*The wi-fi isn't very fast*The small balcony feels as if it could be put to better use*Guests 10, 11 and 12 will be on sofa beds - two in the living room and one in the master bedroom Air ConditioningBalconyBathtubBlack-Out BlindsBuzzer / Wireless IntercomCentral HeatingChild FriendlyCof...More Details

    Rome Vibes

This characterful little apartment lies right in the heart of one of Rome’s oldest neighbourhoods. Its location is second to none – with plenty of lively bars and restaurants on your doorstep and the Pantheon just around the corner, you’re right in the middle of all the action. Though some parts of the apartment, such as the entrance and bathroom, may feel a little rough around the edges, we think it adds to the charm. It’s a great home away from home to explore everything this magnificent city has to offer. *Parking in Rome can be tricky, so we recommend sticking to the easily accessible public transport where possible – though we think the best way to see the city is on foot.*The bathroom in this home is very small. That said, it has everything you need to get ready for the day. *You might encounter an issue with one of the showers here. Giardino Celeste

Sitting within Rome’s suburban Trieste neighbourhood, this beautifully curated apartment offers something of a luxurious novelty in the city – a large, gorgeously leafy garden. Tucked between high walls and filled with a wild assortment of potted plants and lush trees, you’ve got your pick of sunny and shaded spots to choose from. There’s a barbeque here too for alfresco feasts, while the picture-perfect conservatory with its cacti, long glass table and chic velvet chairs invite the best of both outdoors and indoors for celebratory soirées. Inside, nature is beautifully incorporated into the decor with a plethora of houseplants and hanging ivy, as well as colourful pieces of art decking the walls. Located in a narrow street between Piazza di Spagna and Piazza Navona, Kalos is a great home if you want to explore Rome on foot. Between Regola and the medieval alleys of the old Jewish Quarter, this gorgeous apartment is set within a 14th-century building tucked out of the way in the heart of historic Rome. The interior is perfectly pieced together and designed with your needs in mind. We were big fans of the interior design, particularly the accent wallpaper that makes the green theme pop.A well-equipped kitchen elevates your self-catering options – though with all that fantastic food on your doorstep, who's cooking? Aperitivo might have a small footprint, but it’s unusual in that it’s a real house, spread over three floors, from the ground to the (magical) roof terrace. It’s been put together with a lot of care – this much is evident – and a lot of the furniture has been cleverly made from repurposed materials, such as the chest of drawers that used to be an old trunk. Finding this sort of place in the middle of Monti isn’t easy, and we’re very happy to have come across Aperitivo. *Rosella, the host, would prefer that any stay were a maximum of ten days*One of the bedrooms has quite a low ceiling – you're unlikely to bang your head but don't jump around*After four consecutive showers, the hot water needs a bit of time to replenish itself*Both showers are only 190cm high*Two people will be on a sofa bed in the living room*The second bedroom has limited storage space*Expect to see some signs of general wear and tear here*At full occupancy, there isn...More Details

    Tiramisù Treasure

Every corner of this home is brimming with character. Centrally located, it sits along a quiet alleyway just steps from Tivoli’s main street, nestled amidst ancient architecture and exuding authentic charm from the outset. Its interior has been lovingly restored to complement the grandeur of its medieval setting, furnished with an eclectic array of upcycled furniture and antique decor. High ceilings, sweeping archways and heaps of natural light create a free-flowing ambience primed for relaxation. We especially love the ornately tiled kitchen, fully equipped with all the appliances needed for home cooking and even a cappuccino machine. Delightfully peaceful, this home’s outdoor space beckons you to unwind in the splendour of your surroundings. After restful slumbers, step outside onto the courtyard, shaded by lush foliage, or head up to the terrace to sip your coffee in the sunshine, admiring mountain views before a day of adventure. The bedrooms enjoy their own en-suites, and high-speed wi-fi is ideal for getting some remote work done during your stay. You can expect to hear some outside noise here due to the central location, and parking will be tricky.
