    Centurion Pink
Sofa beds in apartments are often optimistic, a way to shoehorn in a few more people and get a few more bookings, but it’s a different story with Centurion Pink. Although two guests would be in the living room, it’s practically a bedroom in its own right (albeit without doors), so the flat is easily big enough for six. There’s a welcoming atmosphere as soon as you step in the door, and while there are a few flourishes, the interior amplifies the feeling of calm. *There's no dishwasher.*The showers are both 185cm or lower, so tall guests may have to duck.*Two guests will be on a sofa bed in the living room.*City taxes are not included in the price of the stay and will be collected in person upon check-in.*Depending on preference, you might not find the hot water to be hot enough here. While you’d initially not expect anything out of the ordinary, once you step off the street you can see why Elmer is so special. Beyond the pretty internal courtyard, there are small, multi-coloured accents all over the place, from the figure of a bull on the shelf to the kitchen tiles and the beautiful bathroom sink. It is on the small side, but two would be perfectly comfortable (it can hold four, but you’d have to be ready to share your personal space). *There isn't a lot of privacy in the flat - there are no doors between the bedroom, hallway and bathroom*There's no espresso machine because the host thinks that making a coffee in a moka is an integral part of the Italian experience*Guests 3 and 4 would be on a sofa bed in the living room*The TV doesn't have English channels Air ConditioningAmazon PrimeBalconyBlack-Out BlindsBreakfast IncludedBuzzer / Wireless IntercomCarbon Monoxide DetectorCentral HeatingChild FriendlyCoffee Make...More Details

    Luce Verde
Housed in an elegant building dating back to 1949 and designed by architect Angelo di Castro, this bright apartment has recently been renovated, offering a comfortable, central base from which to explore Rome’s historic sights. You’ll immediately notice the ample natural light bathing the entire open-plan living space. Large windows and French doors leading out onto a private balcony make the interiors glimmer. Enjoy your morning coffee on this outdoor spot or perch here with a sundowner before discovering the local trattorias on your doorstep. The bedroom, meanwhile, is pared back and effortlessly stylish and offers a handy desk space for those needing to catch up on work. When you’re ready to explore your surroundings, make a beeline for the beautiful Villa Borghese and its manicured gardens (a thirteen-minute walk) or stroll twenty-two minutes to the iconic Trevi Fountain. You’re also just a four-minute walk from Porta Pia – designed...More Details

Being on the top floor of an apartment building often, although not always, brings two perks — good views and plenty of daylight. This home in the Campo Marzio neighbourhood of Rome delivers on both fronts, with large windows gazing out over the city's rooftops. We have a lot of good things to say about the interior, from the sumptuous four-poster bed to the sleek black kitchen. There's even a terrace on which to start the day with coffee and breakfast. Location-wise, a first-time visitor to Rome couldn't wish for better. Many of the big-hitters are within walking distance, while there's also a fresh food market around the corner from the building should you want to stock up on authentic ingredients for an Italian feast. *There's a very slight slope to the floor in some rooms*As you're right in the heart of Rome, you can expect a lot of tourists on the streets below, although it does quieten down at night*The apartment building has a l...More Details

We know that wandering around Rome can become exhausting rather quickly, and quite frankly we think you'll want a place to take in a bit of Aria Fresca. But don't fret because we've got just the answer in this beautiful and bright apartment just moments away from the Spanish Steps and Piazza Lucina. Glass Bonbon
Embracing Rome's identity as the world's oldest city, Glass Bonbon stands out for its stunning classical interiors featuring marble floors, antique furniture, glass chandeliers and traditional tapestry curtains. Elegant Roman touches adorn every room and incorporate Rome's vast history into the home's design. We particularly love the main living room's parlour-like entrance which gives way to an open space and its own bureau – perfect for guests who work remotely. Looking up at the high ceilings, notice the stunning artistic plasterwork – you'll discover that many of the original architectural features have been restored and protected over the years. When you've soaked it all up at home, it's time to venture and explore more of Rome's extensive history and breathtaking architecture. You'll be a twenty-five-minute metro journey from the city's iconic Colosseum and the ancient ruins of Rome, and even closer to Castel Sant'Angelo – a twelv...More Details

Instead of the very heart of Trastevere, Sky Queen is a little bit to the north. This is actually a fantastic location – you can avoid the hordes of revellers, and the Vatican is easy to reach, while the river is just at the end of the road. A quieter option in a lovely location, this home is perfect if you're looking for an authentic stay – with all the big attractions within a half-hour walk. The double-height ceiling and the large windows make this place bright and breezy, which is surprisingly rare for this neighbourhood as the narrow streets and old buildings often conspire to keep sunlight away. There's a sense of history, with beamed ceilings, and a modern twist thanks to the mezzanine bedroom floor and the floating stairs. A comfy sofa takes the prime position in the open-plan living space, with a handy desk area and a contemporary kitchen tucked away under the mezzanine. *The bed is on a mezzanine level that's open to the li...More Details

    Trajan's Hideaway
You’ll find this charming apartment on the narrow, atmospheric Via dei Coronari (officially one of the world’s ten most beautiful streets), right in Rome’s historic centre. It’s just a two-minute stroll to buzzing Piazza Navona where cafés and restaurants spill out onto to pavement and ancient fountains still trickle away. Just across the River Tiber, a fifteen-minute walk takes you to the endless museums and Sistine Chapel at The Vatican. Housed in a building dating back to the 1500s, this apartment still radiates old-world charm which can immediately be felt by the 19th-century aedicule at the entrance. The wooden coffered ceiling and herringbone floor harks back to a bygone age and gilded mirrors and antique furnishings complete the feeling that you’ve stepped into an opulent home in the 19th century. Though it may seem like you’re staying in a museum, the practicalities have been thought of as well, with a full kitchen for your morn...More Details

    Urban Duet
If you're a group heading to Rome, or perhaps two families travelling together, this home offers a colourful, arty alternative to run-of-the-mill apartments. With their own entrance accessed through an outer gate and a small outside space where you can sip coffee in the morning, they've been recently renovated with artistic flair. The one-bedroom apartment sleeps up to four, thanks to a sofa bed in the lounge, and this one is mainly decked out in red and black. High ceilings and a brick-effect wall make for a bright, fun place to put your feet up at the end of the day, and we particularly love the neon sign and touches of Americana. Meanwhile, the other apartment is an ode to monochrome, with modern, designer furniture and a minimalist feel. Both have open-plan living spaces with dining tables and fully-equipped kitchens, and both have sleek, stylish bathrooms.Just a short stroll from the nearest Metro station, it's just a couple of sto...More Details

    Roaming Rome
Part of the joy of visiting Rome is being in the thick of things – busy side-street eateries, crowds clamouring to see the sights, and dodging Vespas as you explore the city. This property is in the perfect location. There are two apartments, making this ideal for groups of friends who want some space. The first is decorated with an eye-catching nod to Pop Art and street artists like Banksy, while the second taps into the romance of Rome with soft pastel shades and an elegant feel. You’re close enough to everything to explore on foot, but for those days when the heat is a little too much, you’ll be glad to be a three-minute walk from the Lepanto metro stop. You’re also in an area rife with restaurants, cafes and bars, so you don’t need to travel far for an exquisite meal or a chilled glass of wine. We like to start our day with a spot of people watching. Walk twelve minutes to Piazza del Popolo for a cappuccino with a view. From there, m...More Details

    Grandezza Romana
There’s no better way to embrace the history of Rome than to stay in a former 17th-century palace. This apartment’s building embraces the spirit of the “grandezza romana” with its ornate doorway just next to a local pizzeria and marble statues in the ancient stairwell. Stepping into the apartment itself you’re met with grand, high ceilings and a traditional parquet floor. Old double doors let the space flow from the living room, to the dining room and a bijou little kitchen. You’re in a prime location here too. Apart from the buzzing pizzeria literally on your doorstep, there is myriad local trattoria serving up plates of carbonara and tiramisu in the historic streets around you. It’s a seven-minute stroll to Piazza di Spanga (where the Spanish Steps are) and the Trevi Fountain is one minute's walk away, showing just how central this apartment is. *The kitchen is sunny but rather compact, but there are plenty of restaurants on your doo...More Details

    Rome Vibes
This characterful little apartment lies right in the heart of one of Rome’s oldest neighbourhoods. Its location is second to none – with plenty of lively bars and restaurants on your doorstep and the Pantheon just around the corner, you’re right in the middle of all the action. Though some parts of the apartment, such as the entrance and bathroom, may feel a little rough around the edges, we think it adds to the charm. It’s a great home away from home to explore everything this magnificent city has to offer. *Parking in Rome can be tricky, so we recommend sticking to the easily accessible public transport where possible – though we think the best way to see the city is on foot.*The bathroom in this home is very small. That said, it has everything you need to get ready for the day. *You might encounter an issue with one of the showers here. It has been known to spray water onto the bathroom floor.*If you're travelling by plane, Rome Cia...More Details

Selva definitely has the feel of a holiday flat, rather than someone’s full-time home, but that shouldn’t necessarily count against it. It also has a trump card over most other places in the centre of the city – the feeling of peace. (Though this is, of course, relative – in these parts of the city there are always tourists.) What really elevates the stay, though, is the level of service you get from Richard. He and his team can help you plan things to do during your trip – very useful given the overwhelming number of things to do and see in Rome. *When we visited, the sliding door to the lift was a bit sticky – don't be alarmed if it needs a bit of welly*There's no TV in the living room, just in each bedroom*The kitchen felt a bit disorganised in general*While there is a double sofa bed in the living room and in the main bedroom, eight people at once feels like too many for the flat Air ConditioningBuzzer / Wireless IntercomCarbon Mo...More Details

    Chestnut Mare
Lazio might not get the plaudits of Tuscany or Umbria, but it's still a beautiful region of Italy – just look at the hilltop views from this home's excellent outdoor space, which offers both a dining terrace and swimming pool to keep visitors happy during the warmer months. The home itself used to be a stable and while there's none of the period charm you often find with restored buildings, we think that it's a solid – if slightly unremarkable – place to rest your head for a week or two. *There are three bedrooms in the main house and an additional bedroom and ensuite bathroom in a separate annexe*Both buildings are spread across a single storey*Your host can provide a cot and high chair for free upon request*The swimming pool is only available for use between the last Saturday in April and the first Saturday in October*There's ample space to park on the home's driveway*Though there isn't a dedicated desk here, the dining table doubles...More Details

    Red Grapes
Tucked away on an incredibly picturesque alleyway, this beautiful apartment is set in a 16th-century building located between Piazza di Spagna and Piazza del Popolo. You’ll be just an eight-minute walk from the beautiful Borghese Gardens and five minutes from the iconic Spanish Steps. It’s an area known for its artists and antique dealers, art galleries and trendy restaurants – it also happens to be the neighbourhood Roman Holiday was filmed in. Inside the home, you’ll find a space that conserves its original beauty – high ceilings and light wood parquet floors – at the same time as it is equipped with every modern comfort. The antique wood period furnishings date back to the beginning of the last century and are family heirlooms, giving the home its distinguished air, while the cosy sofa and tasteful artwork warm the space and make it especially inviting. We love the pristine modern bathroom, and the bedroom is bright and roomy – after...More Details

    Il Canarino
Part of a nineteenth-century palazzo building constructed in neoclassical style, this duplex apartment is actually way more modern than the exterior suggests. Large pieces of bold artwork and bright bursts of colour make the interior feel fresh and vibrant, while the minimalist staircase leading up to the cosy mezzanine bedroom is stylish as they come. It's immediately clear that the host has opted for quality when putting the space together, The yellow kitchen area was designed by Italian design firm Mudulnnova and is stocked with silverware and crockery from Villeroy \u0026 Boch. All this, and the location in the Centro Storico is outstanding, too. From the building's front door, look left and you'll see the sixteenth-century Chiesa del Gesù, while in the other direction, there's the ancient site of Largo di Torre Argentina where Julius Caesar was assassinated. The Pantheon only takes six minutes to reach on foot, too. *The bedroom i...More Details

    Purple Grapes
A compact yet charming apartment, and right in the middle of Campo Marzio, Purple Grapes offers a lovely little retreat with a fantastic location. Although not really suitable for people with mobility issues due to the lack of lift, it would be great for couples or small families who want to be in the thick of the action. The large bedroom where antiques and modern furnishings meet will certainly prove dream-inducing, while the beautiful fresco on the ceiling is really the icing on the cake. *The building has no lift, so you would have to climb two floors of stairs.*There is only one bathroom between up to four guests.*The TV is quite small, so if that is important you might want to look elsewhere.*Since the photoshoot, the marble table has been replaced by a smaller wooden table.*The WiFi is rather slow.*The kitchen is lacking some basic cooking supplies and cooking utensils, so it might not be the best choice if you're planning famil...More Details

    Fern Fronds
While it’s not the most stunning place in the city, Fern Fronds is a really good practical option for a comfortable stay in Rome. It is small, but it was in perfect condition when we visited, and the bathrooms are great for the size. It’s also right next to the iconic Via Veneto, and while that street isn’t as glamorous as it was in its sixties heyday, the Borghese gardens, Piazza di Spagna, and the metro are all within easy reach. *Space is at a premium - this is a very small apartment*The shower is only 180cm high so if you're tall, get ready to duck a bit*Guests 3 and 4 will be on a sofa bed in the living room Air ConditioningBlack-Out BlindsBuzzer / Wireless IntercomCentral HeatingChild FriendlyCoffee MakerCooking EssentialsCot / CribDishwasherElectricity AdaptorsFire ExtinguisherFirst Aid KitHair DryerHigh ChairIronKitchenKitchen UtensilsLaptop Friendly WorkspaceLift AccessMicrowaveMultiple Sets of KeysOvenPets AllowedSelf Check-...More Details

    Left Unsaid
This second-floor apartment in a Prati building dating back to the 1940s illustrates how to incorporate some eccentricity into a home's interior design without going overboard. Colourful pieces of artwork, gold motifs and boldly patterned feature walls pop off satisfyingly against the white walls, while the silverback gorilla in the living room is a playful addition. The kitchen and bathrooms play it relatively simple in comparison but are equally notable for their high quality — we especially liked the whirlpool bathtub. The location is another plus point in our books. Castel Sant'Angelo and the surrounding Parco della Mole Adriana are only ten minutes' walk away, while Vatican City takes about a quarter of an hour to reach on foot. *Two people can sleep on a sofa bed in the living room*Although the apartment can be reached by elevator and is step-free once inside, there are three steps before you reach the lift*While there's a small ...More Details

    Roman Garden
This pied-à-terre makes for a wonderful base for Roman holidays. It’s a comfortable and convenient home in the lively Trastevere district, with all the major sights within easy reach. The incredible views of the city from Belvedere del Gianicolo are a ten-minute walk away, and you have your pick of some of the best restaurants right on your doorstep. It takes twenty-one minutes to meander along the river to Castel Sant’Angelo, and twenty-seven minutes to reach the Roman Forum – slightly longer if you stop into bars and cafes for refreshments, which we absolutely would. If the crowds and heat start to tire you, you might like to recharge your batteries at Orto Botanico di Roma. This university-owned botanical garden is a five-minute stroll from the front door, and is a haven. The apartment itself is a nice calm space, with windows looking out onto the garden below. Violet Haze
Just a four-minute walk from the Roman Forum and nine minutes from the Colosseum, it makes sense that this home, located in Monti, is set in the first neighbourhood of Rome where the city is said to have been founded. Today you’ll find winding cobblestone streets, craft shops, bustling bars and traditional restaurants lining the charming alleys and squares that end in beautiful churches and Roman ruins alike. Returning home, the stately entryway to the building feels like a grand hotel, and inside your apartment, you’ll find an authentic space bursting with style. Exposed wooden beams and Roman arches are paired with elegant furnishings and your host’s careful eye for detail. After a day on your feet, kick back on the plush purple sofa before retiring to your bedroom – which even has its own little cloister. You’ll also have a private patio, with a beautiful stone fountain and plenty of greenery for a breath of fresh air in the morning...More Details

    Roman Venus
Perfect for two, this apartment makes a cosy base for your Roman adventure. It's outside the city centre, but with a metro station nearby and plenty to do in the local area, you won't miss out. After all, you're about 2km from the Vatican and less than one from the greenery of Villa Doria Pamphili. Inside, you'll find a sofa bed for guests three and four, a desk for remote working, and a breezy open-plan living area. That said, our favourite feature here is the balcony - we can't think of a better spot to enjoy an alfresco Aperol Spritz. *At full capacity, two guests will sleep on the sofa bed in the living area.*As this home isn't in the city centre, we think it's best for those who are comfortable with taking public transport.*Please respect your neighbours and keep noise to a minimum between 10pm and 8am. Two Days of Peace
Rome is often thought of in terms of narrow, winding alleyways and hidden passages. However, the grand scale of this home flies in the face of that perceived wisdom. It occupies two whole floors of an imposing villa (there's also a separate flat that you can add into the mix) in the residential district of Monteverde, an affluent area a little detached from the tourist crowds. While the house is undoubtedly impressive, it feels like a well-loved family home rather than a museum showpiece, which lends it a relaxed atmosphere that we loved. If you want to go in search of the action, you're around a twenty-minute walk from trendy Trastevere. This pretty pocket of Medieval Rome is packed with neighbourhood trattorias serving impeccable food, stylish speakeasies with intriguing cocktail menus, and all manner of vintage and antique boutiques where you can lose a couple of hours. *Two people will be in a sofa bed in the living room, while the...More Details

    Mirror Autumn
Finding anything wrong with Mirror Autumn requires some serious nitpicking. Everything is curated, designed specifically for the space, and of the absolute highest quality. We’re particular fans of the steel kitchen, and its juxtaposition with the wooden ceiling. It’s inside the Alda Fendi Foundation – tucked behind the Imperial Forums – and beyond the obvious style implications, it also means that the building offers some serious services. Anything you’d expect from a luxury hotel is available here, and there’s even a fancy restaurant on the fifth floor. *As this is a serviced apartment, if you're after the feeling of a lived-in home, you won't find it here*Your host owns multiple apartments within this building, so the exact view, furnishings and layout might differ from the photos, but the size and standard will be the same*There aren’t many basic ingredients provided*This is all steel and cement, rather than more typical Roman desi...More Details

    Roma Roma Mia
Enjoy a negroni sbagliato cocktail on this home’s sunny terrace, with its views of the rooftops of the Eternal City, located a few metres from Piazza Navona and Castel Sant'Angelo. Housed in a historic 1600s building, this apartment has charming, whitewashed beams, herringbone wood floors and plenty of natural light. We adore the egg-shaped bath in the ensuite, perfect for a long, luxurious soak after exploring all that Rome has to offer. There’s so much to see within a short walk. Castel Sant'Angelo, St. Angelo Bridge and Piazza Navona are all five minutes on foot, while the Pantheon is ten minutes. If you fancy a spot of shopping, Corso Vittorio Emanuele II is an eight-minute saunter. A little further on, St. Peter's Basilica and the Trevi Fountain are both around fifteen minutes. The Vatican Museums and the Roman Forum, on the other hand, are a twenty-five-minute stroll (or a ten-minute ride). *A breakfast hamper is provided here*Chi...More Details

    Il Cherubino
It’s quite difficult to turn any corner in central Rome without running into a wonderfully historical landmark, ornate statue, or striking architecture. And the location of this fabulous apartment is no exception. Just six minutes from the Spanish Steps, five from Villa Borghese, and only two from the Piazza del Popolo, you’ll have no trouble seeing the sights. But the traditional Italian sights continue inside. Your bright living space features large French windows which illuminate rich, hardwood floors, chunky timber ceilings, and some captivating artworks. You’ll love relaxing on the plush sofa with a glass of primitivo in hand as the cherubs look upon you from the walls. Antique-style furniture and an ornate mirror complete this old-world Italian look, which continues through to the bedroom. We love the full wood-panelled wall, where the door to the ensuite is almost camouflaged within this rich wooden feature. After you’ve explored...More Details
