Bowler is very comfortable, and has clearly been designed to tailor to large groups, whether that be friends on holiday, or people on a business trip. Each room has a TV, which makes up somewhat for the lack of any real living room. That’s the big factor with the flat – the lack of communal areas beyond the kitchen. Simply put, Paparazzi is stylish, well-kept and right in the middle of Rome. Domenico is incredibly attentive as a host, and always ready to help, and while there are a few issues that we found, the majority were unavoidable given the age and positioning of the building (fairly slow wi-fi, for example), and the positives far outweigh the negatives. The apartment has been redone recently and you can really tell, particularly in the bathrooms, which feel very modern and sleek. *The apartment's in a narrow alleyway, so it doesn't get much natural light*Not every bed has a bedside table*When we visited there were a few of signs of carelessness – a couple of bulbs had gone and the sugar was in an open packet*There's no lift in the building, so be ready to haul your bags up the stairs*Not all windows close fully – expect to hear some street noise from below*We think the kitchen could be stocked with more crockery and utensils Air Conditioni...More Details

Any discussion of Savannah has to start with the roof terrace, a little rectangle of serenity nestled in the rooftops of Trastevere. There is furniture up there and even a canopy, so you can relax while hiding from the midday sun. The interior is simple but charming, with a working fireplace in the living room - perfect for those cosy winter nights. Tastefully decorated with a good balance of rustic features and modern furniture, this apartment offers a quietly impressive base in the heart of the eternal city. The living room mixes exposed brickwork and wooden ceiling beams with contemporary wooden flooring and a huge smart TV, while there's even a four-poster bed in one of the bedrooms for guests to argue over. If you don't win that squabble, don't worry — the other two both have ensuite bathrooms and wall-mounted TVs. The location offers the best of both worlds, too. It's not on the main tourist routes, so still retains an element of authentic Roman character. However, some of the city's must-see sights are within easily walkable distance, too. Set within a stunning fifteenth-century building, the home is spread over three floors, accessible via a beautiful spiral staircase that eventually emerges in between the three bedrooms up on the second floor. The interior is a largely pared-back affair, with a definite nod to Scandinavian simplicity, but without veering into the impersonal. While the Tiber isn’t actually visible from the front door, but it’s only one street over, and the Castel Sant’Angelo is just a few minutes' walk on the other bank. There isn’t much that’s more Italian than a Vespa, and Farobasso has two of them. These are the most eye-catching vintage objects in the apartment, but there are many more - the host has tied the theme together nicely. The entire place has been recently redone, and you can tell from the excellent condition it’s in - the bathrooms in particular feel spotless. However, Farobasso is a way out of the historic centre.
