Stunning Apartment in Villa Near Rome
Charming Tranquility
Despite a small footprint, Saguaro makes great use of the space it has. The mezzanine creates a feeling of openness while the colours brighten the place. We also really liked Iacopo, who we found really patient and helpful (even for a Plum host). The area is an interesting one, and depending on your point of view, could be considered a downside, as it’s a bit out of many of the main tourist hotspots. It is, however, an opportunity to experience Rome as a Roman would, free from the crowds and vendors. *Even though the apartment's on the ground floor, you have to go up and down some steps to reach the front door*The shower doesn't have a door, just a curtain*Guests 3 and 4 will be on a sofa bed in the living room Air ConditioningBicyclesBoard GamesBuzzer / Wireless IntercomCarbon Monoxide DetectorCentral HeatingCoffee MakerCooking EssentialsCot / CribDishwasherEspresso MachineExtra Pillows and BlanketsFire ExtinguisherFirst Aid KitFree ...More Details

If you want to discover hidden Rome, this elegant penthouse in lively Trastevere is perfect. Head to Piazza di Santa Maria, just a five-minute stroll away, where you'll find the 12th-century Basilica di Santa Maria with its stunning Cavallini mosaics. Or, it's under a half an hour walk to the iconic Trevi Fountain. Back at your apartment, French colonial antiques meld with the owner's Parisian heritage and the Roman atmosphere. Have a coffee in the conservatory or take a seat on the roof terrace for views of the neighbourhood – it's the perfect place to have a chilled glass of Italian wine. This place is full of soul and, with all the colours and plants, it's a festival for the senses. After a busy day, get some rest on the beautiful four-poster bed and dream of the wonderful Eternal City. *The lift only works with a key.*While there is a bed in the conservatory, it's better as a place to relax than to sleep.*Child-friendly amenities s...More Details

The vast window in Salici’s living room beautifully frames the Tiber, and the willows that line its banks. There’s also a balcony, allowing you to get even closer to the river. It shouldn’t be underestimated just how special a view like this is. The flat itself has a few years on it, clearly, but it’s been kept well in that time so it’s just like any other place that hasn’t specifically been designed to be rented out. There’s also a bit of noise from the road below, but that comes from being only a five-minute walk from the heart of the action. *The bedroom doesn't have a proper door*There's a good amount of traffic passing below so some noise reaches the flat*Two guests will be on sofa beds in the living room Air ConditioningBalconyBuzzer / Wireless IntercomDishwasherHair DryerIronIroning BoardLift AccessMicrowaveMultiple Sets of KeysTVWashing MachineWi-fi...More Details

Verdi's Aria
Aperitivo might have a small footprint, but it’s unusual in that it’s a real house, spread over three floors, from the ground to the (magical) roof terrace. It’s been put together with a lot of care – this much is evident – and a lot of the furniture has been cleverly made from repurposed materials, such as the chest of drawers that used to be an old trunk. Finding this sort of place in the middle of Monti isn’t easy, and we’re very happy to have come across Aperitivo. *Rosella, the host, would prefer that any stay were a maximum of ten days*One of the bedrooms has quite a low ceiling – you're unlikely to bang your head but don't jump around*After four consecutive showers, the hot water needs a bit of time to replenish itself*Both showers are only 190cm high*Two people will be on a sofa bed in the living room*The second bedroom has limited storage space*Expect to see some signs of general wear and tear here*At full occupancy, there isn...More Details

Five-hundred Olive Trees
With a combination of old-fashioned furniture and modern flourishes, Silk Road manages to retain an understanding of Rome’s history without getting bogged down in recreating the past. It’s not a simple balancing act, and for the most part, Silk Road pulls it off. And, as should go without saying, having the Pantheon about 100m away is not to be sniffed at (as long as you can handle the tourists that accompany it). *Given how close the Pantheon is, there's a lot of movement outside at all hours, as well as the noise you'd expect*The windows in the second bedroom are high up and hard to open*A lot of the flat gets quite dark if you rely on natural light*The bathroom is a lot more simple than the rest of the flat, and the shower's only 190cm high*As there are a lot of antiques, Alex would prefer not to have children staying Air ConditioningBuzzer / Wireless IntercomCentral HeatingElectricity AdaptorsFanHair DryerHome Cinema SetupIronLift...More Details

Vatican Oasis
Simple yet practical with an emphasis on comfort and privacy, rather than any delusions of grandeur, this home offers a humble stay that provides a relaxing atmosphere to return to after action-packed trips out in Rome. Where the apartment really comes alive is in the personality of the space. Strange as it might seem, the home has something of a sense of humour and playfulness that manifests itself in the design and decorations. Mid-century furniture creates a rather European set-up as it's clear from the moment you step inside that you're on holiday in Italy. House plants, terracotta bedroom walls and quirky artwork set the scene for an authentic stay with bags of character. Since Rome's world-renowned sights are all within close reach, you'll have an idyllic base from which to explore the city with ease. Take a ten-minute stroll to Villa Borghese or hop on the easily accessible bus and tram lines to visit tourist attractions further ...More Details

Hope - Glory
An apartment in the palace of one of Rome’s greatest aristocratic families – even if we set aside the location – it’s a special place. Four floors stacked on top of each other form the backbone of the flat. The bedrooms are all beautiful, done up to modern standards, but without losing their sense of history or many of their original features. There’s a balcony and a terrace, along with panoramic views from the shower that crowns the flat. It’s a stroke of genius, one of many that elevate this apartment above the rest. Once you've had your morning shower looking out over Rome's rooftops, it's time to hit the streets. The apartment is neatly sandwiched between the stunning baroque beauty of Piazza Navona and the bustling Campo de' Fiori market – with both within a couple of minutes' walk – and close to a host of other Roman sights. Cross over Ponte Garibaldi, and you'll find yourself in trendy Trastevere in a little over ten minutes, whi...More Details
This beautiful home is the epitome of everything Roman. Stylish and sophisticated, it's been designed to represent what this city is all about. A mix of period features and a sleek, modern finish (particularly in the kitchen and bathrooms) have made for an upscale stay that’s brought to life with personal touches. The living space is comfortable and inviting, with an artificial fireplace that illuminates the space and a huge TV inset into the wall, a tall window and a wall painting at the dining end – making for the perfect spot to enjoy a few glasses of red together. Bedrooms are smart and bright, and the murals add character and recall the city’s many frescoes. Vatican City, Castel Sant’Angelo and Piazza del Popolo are all just a fifteen-minute walk away, while the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain and Campo di Fiori are just twenty-five minutes on foot. Plus, the immediate neighbourhood is known for its great shopping and its numerous cafes a...More Details
