    The Sun Saint
Not far from the Vatican, this apartment is an excellent family option. Though the living area isn't the largest, there's plenty of space across the five bedrooms. The kitchen is well-stocked if you fancy a home-cooked meal, but for something extra special, your host is happy to arrange a private chef for a fee. You'll also have access to a small balcony ideal for enjoying morning espressos and sipping sundowners. Location-wise, shops and restaurants are a short walk away, as is the iconic St Peter's Square. Further afield, but still within easy reach, are the city's other famous landmarks, putting you in a prime spot for exploring. *All five bedrooms, as well as the living room, are equipped with air conditioning.*If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a cot, high chair, and children's books and toys on request.*Please note that one of the bedrooms is a triple, which is best suited to children or adults who don't...More Details

    Roman Loft
We think this industrial-style loft makes for a memorable stay in the Eternal City. The decor mixes contemporary and character features – you'll find everything from exposed brick walls and beamed ceilings to a unique glass floor that overlooks the lounge. It's got plenty of space for everyone, and the extra touches like board games and snacks are much appreciated. Plus, the location is fantastic for exploring near and far. Both the Colosseum and the metro station are within walking distance. Shops and restaurants are easily reached on foot, too. *Although there's a lift in the building, the upper floor here is only accessible by stairs.*The top-floor bedroom has a glass floor that overlooks the living area.*If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide up to two free cots on request.*The dining table can be used as a desk if you plan to work from home.*Parking isn't provided, but a car isn't needed in Rome. Roman Dream
This apartment in central Rome is full of surprises. You'll find it tucked away in a former 17th-century palace, but despite the bevvy of traditional features, the whole pad has a contemporary feel – we're talking neon signs, a crystal staircase, and all the modern comforts you'll need. Downstairs, a wellness area is ideal for relaxing, but the biggest gem of all is the private inner courtyard, perfect for alfresco aperitifs. We love the location, too. Via dei Coronari is a few steps away – famous for its antique shops – with many other landmarks reachable on foot, including Piazza Navona and the Trevi Fountain. *Pets weighing 8kg and under are allowed to join you here.*The seventh guest will sleep on a single sofa bed.*Please note that two of the bedrooms are located in the basement. These rooms are near the boiler, which can be a tad noisy.*This home has an independent entrance off of Via dei Coronari.*Daily cleaning is provided duri...More Details

    Renaissance Romance
Spread across three floors and boasting a private terrace, this Trastevere apartment is an absolute winner. If you're anything like us, you'll make a beeline for the outdoor space – it's the perfect spot to enjoy an Aperol Spritz while gazing at the neighbourhood's rooftops. Inside, the antique furniture and character features give the whole pad a traditional feel – but that's all part of the charm. With two lounges, a dining room, and a collection of cosy bedrooms, you'll also have plenty of space. We love the location, too. This is one of Rome's prettiest (and oldest) districts, home to artisan shops, local trattorias, and a bohemian atmosphere that's hard to resist. *This home is in a building without an elevator. The entrance is located on the second floor, and the apartment itself is spread across three levels.*Some of the antique furniture here is a little dated and may not suit everyone's tastes.*This home does not accept groups...More Details

    La Dolce Vista
You'll find this charming apartment in Prati, one of Rome's most upscale neighbourhoods. Here, wine bars, boutique shops, and gourmet eateries line the streets, while must-visits like St. Peter's Basilica are within walking distance. The design inside is full of character, with a few contemporary twists like bold wallpaper and sleek bathrooms. It doesn't have the largest living space – most socialising will happen around the dining table – and the kitchen is compact but well-equipped. That said, we reckon you'll spend most of your time here out and about – especially since your host can arrange guided tours, cooking classes, and other fun-filled extras. *If you're travelling with little ones, your host can arrange a cot and high chair on request.*There’s no real living area here. Prati Postcard
In upscale Prati, this apartment makes an excellent base for a Roman holiday. We love this location – the area's many wine bars and gourmet eateries are a stone's throw away, as is the Vatican when you're in the mood to sightsee. Juliet balconies overlook the pretty streets back home, pairing nicely with the sleek and minimalist interiors. The sofa bed can accommodate two guests, making it ideal for short stays. You'll also have access to a private terrace – it may not have any views, but it's still a pleasant spot to unwind in the evenings. *At full occupancy, two guests will sleep on the sofa bed in the living area. The mattress is a little thing, so we think it's best for children and short stays.*The terrace is slightly overlooked by neighbouring buildings.*Though parking isn't provided, a car isn't needed in Rome. Roman Venus
Perfect for two, this apartment makes a cosy base for your Roman adventure. It's outside the city centre, but with a metro station nearby and plenty to do in the local area, you won't miss out. After all, you're about 2km from the Vatican and less than one from the greenery of Villa Doria Pamphili. Inside, you'll find a sofa bed for guests three and four, a desk for remote working, and a breezy open-plan living area. That said, our favourite feature here is the balcony - we can't think of a better spot to enjoy an alfresco Aperol Spritz. *At full capacity, two guests will sleep on the sofa bed in the living area.*As this home isn't in the city centre, we think it's best for those who are comfortable with taking public transport.*Please respect your neighbours and keep noise to a minimum between 10pm and 8am. Colosseo Cerulean
Want to be a short walk away from one of Rome's most famous landmarks? Then this apartment in Monti is spot-on. It's a stone's throw from the Colosseum and right around the corner from Basilica Papale di Santa Maria Maggiore. Shops, restaurants, and metro stations are also nearby. Back home, the blue and yellow colour scheme is instantly cheery. Your host has taken care of all the essentials, including a desk ideal for remote working. Two guests will sleep on the sofa bed (which may be a squeeze for everyone), but otherwise, it's a fantastic space to call home. *At full capacity, two guests will sleep on the sofa bed in the living area. We think space will be a tad tight with it in use, so we suggest a maximum guest count of four.*Please note that both bathrooms here are en-suite, so those sleeping on the sofa bed will need to access them via the bedrooms.*If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a free cot and clam...More Details

    Coppedè Fantasy
Base yourself in Coppedè, one of Rome's most charming neighbourhoods. It's close to several leafy parks, including the sprawling Villa Borghese, as well as an array of traditional eateries and artisan shops. Each room here is ample in size and cosy to boot – the perfect hang-out after exploring Rome. The kitchen is well-stocked to rustle up an antipasto platter, while the sofa bed offers space for guests seven and eight. There are even two balconies here with views of the city – no wonder it ticks all our boxes. *At full capacity, two guests will sleep on a sofa bed in the living area.*If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a cot and high chair upon request.*This is a quiet, residential area of Rome. Fountains of Fun
Moments from the Trevi Fountain, this apartment is a true Roman gem. It's in the heart of the city, so you'll be well-placed here to shop, dine, and sightsee. Even the apartment building, Palazzo Antamoro, has historic ties – it dates back to the mid-1600s and features the Bernini Fountain in its picturesque courtyard. Inside, the two living areas are contemporary and comfortable, and one has a sofa bed for flexible sleeping arrangements. But if you're anything like us, you'll make a beeline for the terrace – it's the perfect spot to enjoy an Aperol Spritz as the sun goes down. *At full capacity, two guests will sleep on the sofa bed in the second sitting room.*If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a cot, high chair, and children's tableware on request.*You'll have access to a shared back garden here. Gladiator Sun
While the bold colours in Gladiator Sun won’t appeal to everyone, we really like it, and it has lots going for it beyond the design. It’s right by the Colosseum, and the host, Mary, also pushes the boat out when it comes to service. It’ll be really good for people who are after a slightly more hotel-like experience. There’s a daily cleaning service and someone at reception until 11pm, as well as free laundry, great breakfast options, and recommendations of all the places tourists don’t know about. *The living has two single futons in it, rather than sofas*When we visited, the lift was down and there were ninety steps to the front door*Currently, the internet is limited to 1GB per day*There's no dishwasher*Guests 3 and 4 will be sleeping on the futons in the living room Air ConditioningBathtubBlack-Out BlindsBreakfast IncludedBuzzer / Wireless IntercomCarbon Monoxide DetectorCentral HeatingCoffee MakerCooking EssentialsCot / CribDryerE...More Details

    Gladiator Rose
This bold little place isn’t aimed at fans of neutral tones and understated design. Deep colours are everywhere, and they really help the apartment stand out from the crowd. It's not a huge space but it's extremely well laid-out and the lack of a seating area indoors is more than made up for by having a balcony with seats outside. The kitchenette is pretty well-equipped for its size and there's a little dining spot just for two. The host, Maria, really pushes the boat out when it comes to service – there’s a daily cleaning service, as well as free laundry, great breakfast options, and recommendations of all the places tourists don’t know about. If that wasn’t enough, it’s also only a couple of minutes walk from the Colosseum. *When we visited, there was no lift and the apartment is on the fifth floor – although we were told one was due to be installed (speak to the host prior to booking if you're worried)*There's only air conditioning ...More Details

Gladiator Reef is not one that will appeal to people who are after neutral tones and understated design. There’s a mix of bright colours all over the place, and this gives the space a bit of individuality. The host, Mary, also pushes the boat out when it comes to service - there’s a daily cleaning service, as well as free laundry, great breakfast options, and recommendations of all the places tourists don’t know about. Gladiator Stripes
Decked out in intense colours and on the fourth floor with no lift, Gladiator Stripes isn’t one for the faint-hearted. We’re big fans of the look though, and it’s clear that the place is very well-kept. The host, Mary, also pushes the boat out when it comes to service - there’s a daily cleaning service and someone at reception until 11pm, as well as free laundry, great breakfast options, and recommendations of all the places tourists don’t know about. *Both sofas in the living room are really a cross between sofas, beds and benches*There's no lift in the building – you'll have to climb up four floors*Taller guests should know that the shower is only 190cm high*Guests 3 and 4 will be on the sofas in the communal area Air ConditioningBlack-Out BlindsBreakfast IncludedBuzzer / Wireless IntercomCentral HeatingChild FriendlyCoffee MakerCooking EssentialsCot / CribDryerFire ExtinguisherFireplaceFirst Aid KitFree Parking On PremisesFree Park...More Details

Despite a small footprint, Saguaro makes great use of the space it has. The mezzanine creates a feeling of openness while the colours brighten the place. We also really liked Iacopo, who we found really patient and helpful (even for a Plum host). The area is an interesting one, and depending on your point of view, could be considered a downside, as it’s a bit out of many of the main tourist hotspots. It is, however, an opportunity to experience Rome as a Roman would, free from the crowds and vendors. *Even though the apartment's on the ground floor, you have to go up and down some steps to reach the front door*The shower doesn't have a door, just a curtain*Guests 3 and 4 will be on a sofa bed in the living room Air ConditioningBicyclesBoard GamesBuzzer / Wireless IntercomCarbon Monoxide DetectorCentral HeatingCoffee MakerCooking EssentialsCot / CribDishwasherEspresso MachineExtra Pillows and BlanketsFire ExtinguisherFirst Aid KitFree ...More Details

    Red Grapes
Tucked away on an incredibly picturesque alleyway, this beautiful apartment is set in a 16th-century building located between Piazza di Spagna and Piazza del Popolo. You’ll be just an eight-minute walk from the beautiful Borghese Gardens and five minutes from the iconic Spanish Steps. It’s an area known for its artists and antique dealers, art galleries and trendy restaurants – it also happens to be the neighbourhood Roman Holiday was filmed in. Inside the home, you’ll find a space that conserves its original beauty – high ceilings and light wood parquet floors – at the same time as it is equipped with every modern comfort. The antique wood period furnishings date back to the beginning of the last century and are family heirlooms, giving the home its distinguished air, while the cosy sofa and tasteful artwork warm the space and make it especially inviting. We love the pristine modern bathroom, and the bedroom is bright and roomy – after...More Details

    Naive Neon
Between Regola and the medieval alleys of the old Jewish Quarter, this gorgeous apartment is set within a 14th-century building tucked out of the way in the heart of historic Rome. The interior is perfectly pieced together and designed with your needs in mind. We were big fans of the interior design, particularly the accent wallpaper that makes the green theme pop.A well-equipped kitchen elevates your self-catering options – though with all that fantastic food on your doorstep, who's cooking? Naive Melody
Between the old Jewish Quarter and the riverside alleys of Regola, Naive Melody is at the centre at what was the heart of medieval Rome. It was in spotless condition when we arrived, and if you were inclined to stay in, rather than explore the neighbourhood, there’s a 70” TV with Netflix to keep you busy. No one lives in the flat full time, but this isn’t necessarily a problem as Giulia, your host, is a delight – really helpful and forthcoming. *The entrance to the building is a little hard to find, but you'll get precise instructions from Giulia.*Don't try to water the plants – they're artificial.*Guests 3 and 4 will be accommodated in the sofa bed in the living room.*There's a restaurant downstairs, so expect to hear some noise into the early hours.*The bedroom curtains here don't fully block out the sunlight. Outdoor space is a rarity in this historic city, but this charming home has no fewer than three terraces to choose from. Right next to the Tiber, just a fifteen-minute walk from most of the city's big attractions, you'll have incredible, 360º views – and the sunset over the Vatican is something really special. The interior is colourful and comfortable, and while it's stylish, it's easy to feel at home. It’s split over two levels at the top of a traditional building but there's a lift to take you up to your front door. All the terraces are excellent (and one is just off the kitchen so perfect for meals outdoors) but the show is well and truly stolen by the rooftop terrace. Climb the steps for one of the best views in this part of the city – it's even head and shoulders above a nearby rooftop bar. Out and about you'll find plenty of great places to eat and drink on your doorstep, and all of central Rome is easily walkable. *Although the...More Details

Plucked straight from your typical Italian reverie comes this picture-perfect home in the heart of papal Rome. Just a thirty-minute wander to the Vatican City and its glorious St. Peter's Basilica, this location is in a quiet and friendly neighbourhood with a local vibe. Back home, it's a real crowd-pleaser, despite not having a conventional lounge seating area. Come together around the reclaimed wood dining table – complete with elegant ghost chairs – and map out the day's tourist itinerary over a hearty breakfast. It's a well-kept, clean and comfortable space with heaps of Italian passion and charm. Walking around the apartment, you'll notice all the bedrooms come with grand four-poster beds and William Morris floral wallpaper prints that we really loved. Last but certainly not least, you'll have access to a private terrace – we could think of nothing better than watching sunsets out here with a glass of Barolo in hand. Plus, your hos...More Details

    Mirror Indigo
Design buffs need not look any further than Mirror Indigo – it’s inside the Alda Fendi Foundation, run by fashion royalty, and unlike anything else you’ll find in Rome. The ultramodern, stainless steel furniture and the antique Portuguese tiles go together perfectly, and create the overriding aesthetic of the space. It has two twin beds, rather than a double, and while the aesthetic seems spartan, each is very comfortable, and the level of service is equal to any you’d find in a five-star hotel. *As this is a serviced apartment, if you're after the feeling of a lived-in home, you won't find it here*Your host owns multiple apartments within this building, so the exact view, furnishings and layout might differ from the photos, but the size and standard will be the same*There's no double bed in this apartment, just two singles*There aren’t many basic ingredients provided Air ConditioningBathrobesBicyclesBuzzer / Wireless IntercomCentral ...More Details

    Mirror Slate
Mirror Slate is the very definition of luxury. You get the independence of an apartment but all the services of a hotel suite – everything from a 24/7 concierge and daily cleaning, to a choice of pillows and a high-end restaurant in the building. It’s actually inside the Alda Fendi Foundation – an old palazzo that has been redone as part of a high-profile project, and houses some of the operations of the design giant. It’s almost beside the point to mention the achingly stylish flat itself, but you can be certain you’re in good hands. *As this is a serviced apartment, if you're after the feeling of a lived-in home, you won't find it here*Your host owns multiple apartments within this building, so the exact view, furnishings and layout might differ from the photos, but the size and standard will be the same*If you prefer a classical Roman design, this isn’t for you*There aren’t many basic ingredients provided Air ConditioningBathrobesB...More Details

The symmetry of Castor is almost absolute. The two bedrooms are pretty much identical (except for the bedside lamps) and revolve around the central kitchen. Character perhaps wasn’t at the top of the agenda when the place was designed, but it’s very comfortable and the bathrooms are both very big for Rome. There’s also the bonus of no squabbling over who gets which room – they’re as good as each other. *There isn't a washing machine or an oven*The communal area is quite small, and there's no communal TV*Guests 5 and 6 will be on single sofa beds, one in each bedroom Air ConditioningBuzzer / Wireless IntercomCentral HeatingHair DryerLuxury BeddingMicrowaveMultiple Sets of KeysPets AllowedRain ShowerUmbrellasWelcome HamperWi-fi...More Details

Being on the top floor of an apartment building often, although not always, brings two perks — good views and plenty of daylight. This home in the Campo Marzio neighbourhood of Rome delivers on both fronts, with large windows gazing out over the city's rooftops. We have a lot of good things to say about the interior, from the sumptuous four-poster bed to the sleek black kitchen. There's even a terrace on which to start the day with coffee and breakfast. Location-wise, a first-time visitor to Rome couldn't wish for better. Many of the big-hitters are within walking distance, while there's also a fresh food market around the corner from the building should you want to stock up on authentic ingredients for an Italian feast. *There's a very slight slope to the floor in some rooms*As you're right in the heart of Rome, you can expect a lot of tourists on the streets below, although it does quieten down at night*The apartment building has a l...More Details
