Despite its position in an old, atmospheric square near Campo de’ Fiori, Falconry has been renovated recently, and most of the furniture has been made to measure, making the whole place feel very well crafted. Everything fits together, from the parquet floor to the various lamps, and even the terrace is taken care of, and not an afterthought. High up among the rooftops, it feels like a little refuge from the hectic city below. *The lift only goes up to the sixth floor, so you'll have to climb the stairs for the last stretch*Two people can sleep on a sofa bed in the living room*The bedroom is on the small side Air ConditioningBalconyBlack-Out BlindsBlenderCarbon Monoxide DetectorCentral HeatingCleaning ProductsCoffee MakerCooking EssentialsDishwasherDrying RackExtra Pillows and BlanketsFire ExtinguisherFirst Aid KitFreezerFridgeHair DryerHangersIronIroning BoardKettleKitchenKitchen UtensilsLaptop Friendly WorkspaceLibrary of BooksLift ...More Details

Unpretentious and reassuring, Shoreline is comfortable, and the kind of place where things work without any fuss. It’s on the lower ground floor, so views are out of the question, but while it’s not overly bright, it’s not really any different to any number of the old flats in narrow streets closer to the centre of the city. However, as it’s in Monteverde, the streets are wide and lined with trees, the traffic much calmer, and the tourists far away. *The flat's on the lower ground floor, so it doesn't get much natural light, and there's no lift to get down to it*The second bedroom is more of a study with a single sofa bed in it – we marked it as a bedroom to show it wasn't in the living room, but it's worth being aware of*There's another sofa bed in the living room that two people can sleep on*Eugenia would only like to rent this flat out for periods of two weeks or longer Air ConditioningBaby BathBlack-Out BlindsBuzzer / Wireless Int...More Details

A high-quality offering in every sense, this home is in one of the most enchanting parts of Rome, along the River Tiber. Many of the must-see Roman sights are in walking distance, such as the Pantheon, just a fifteen-minute stroll away. The Colosseum and Trevi Fountain are under a thirty-minute saunter, while Piazza Navona, one of the most beautiful squares in Rome, is a mere ten-minute wander. For a night out, the bohemian area of Trastevere with its hip trattorias and craft beer pubs, is a quarter of an hour away on foot. It’s certainly not all about the location though, this apartment has some fantastic features. The possibility of a DIY spa day, with the whirlpool bath and the sauna is particularly exciting – perfect after a day of walking around the city’s sights, so pour a glass of prosecco and relax in luxury. We adore the love and care that has been lavished on this apartment by your host, Antonio, from the French barbed oak flo...More Details

    Pensieri Stupendi
Let's not beat around the bush: the star of the show here is that unparalleled view of the Pantheon and the bustling piazza. It's an incredible sight, and it's all yours to enjoy from the small balcony. But to reduce this gorgeous flat to the view alone is a massive disservice. It's a real stunner, both inside and out – think plush sofas built for lounging, sleek marble countertops, luxurious bedding fit for royalty (which are turned daily for free), and of course, that beguiling printed wallpaper. We can go on and on about how much we adore this flat – don't even get us started on those chequerboard floors – but the fact that you can arrange services like massages and champagne on arrival make it even better. And the location speaks for itself. You are truly in the heart of the city, surrounded by markets, shops, cafes, restaurants, ice cream parlours – you name it, you're near it – while sights like the Piazza Navona and Trevi Fountai...More Details

    Bacco - Diana
In a characterful corner of Trastevere, just around the corner from the Tiber, Bacco \u0026 Diana is slightly detached from both the tourist crowds around the Trevi fountain and the nightlife by Piazza di Santa Maria. Of course, this is Rome, so it’s by no means silent, but the slight respite is noticeable. And while the layout of the flat means that there isn’t much light in the living room, it’s still a welcoming space, and the lack of separation between each of the spaces mitigates any sense of being enclosed. *As there's no lift, you'll have to take the stairs to the first floor*While there is a very small outdoor space, it's not big enough to relax in*The TV in the living room is very small*Some parts of the flat are quite dark*Two people can sleep on single sofa beds in the living room, but as there are no doors between that, the bedroom, and the kitchen, anyone sleeping there wouldn't have much space Air ConditioningBalcony / ...More Details

Packed with curiosities that reflect the eye of a globetrotter, vintage furniture combined with modern staples and a knockout view of St Peter’s Basilica, this home certainly stands out from the crowd. The level of care your host has put into the interior is impressive. Every last detail is considered, from the linens to the layout and the state-of-the-art whirlpool bathtub with colour therapy and audio system. The east-facing balcony is soaked with sunshine in the mornings, so breakfast alfresco and take your time with a cup of coffee. Your apartment is situated in the upmarket Prati district, a ten-minute walk from trendy wine bars, luxe boutiques and gourmet restaurants. Reach the hallowed edifices of Vatican City in thirty minutes by foot or ten minutes by taxi. And the towering Castel Sant'Angelo is a twenty-five-minute walk away or thirteen-minute bus ride. *This home is on the eighth floor with a lift *Your host kindly asks to r...More Details

    Centurion Stag
Set on one of the most characterful streets in Monti, there’s a surprising sense of calm in this apartment. You’re right in the thick of it here, with the Colosseum a fifteen-minute walk in one direction, and twelve minutes to the Trevi Fountain in the other. The surrounding streets are brimming with pizzerias, local trattoria selling carbonara by the mound and pavement cafés spilling into piazzas. Yet the apartment itself is a haven of calm. In true Italian style, the sofa is leather and depictions of Rome on the gallery-white walls are a reminder of exactly where you are. A sleek, modern kitchen has everything you need to rustle up a plate of pasta for dinner. Or, you can head out to the many eateries in the area. You’re spoilt for choice in Monti. *All of the windows face onto the internal courtyard, so there's no view to speak of*The flat doesn't get a lot of natural light – there are only three windows in the whole place*Two peopl...More Details

    Centurion Brick
Few places in Rome capture the imagination like Monti’s warrens of independent shops and neighbourhood trattorias. Centurion Brick is on one of the main district's thoroughfares, and while the streets below can get busy, that’s a small price to pay for such a great spot. You're also just a thirteen-minute walk from the Colosseum. From the lively locale to the traditional buildings, there's a real authentic vibe around Monti that we really love – it's the perfect stay for those looking to peel back the curtain on the world's most ancient city. Another thing worth knowing is that there are actually several flats in the building, so Centurion Brick can actually work for much larger groups, assuming that some of the other places are free at the same time. Inside, the home is fresh and functional with sleek mid-century furnishings, Roman-red wallpaper and elegant Kartell chairs. It's a great option if location is your number one priority and...More Details

    Centurion Sea
Sometimes when looking for a place to stay in a foreign city, you have to make a decision about what to prioritise, but this Roman apartment has all the bases covered. It’s in a great location in Monti — one of our favourite parts of the city, famous for vintage shops and undiscovered restaurants — but the interiors are just as much of a draw. The frescoed ceilings are perhaps the most striking element, a welcome nod to the history of both the building and the area, but the brightly coloured walls and touches of modernity — such as the transparent dining chairs and strikingly blue master bathroom — are also appreciated additions. The winning touch is the small balcony just off the kitchen, which has a charming view of the internal courtyard. *Even though the building has a lift, there's a short flight of stairs before you reach it so this home might not be suitable for guests with reduced mobility*Two people can sleep on a sofa bed in ...More Details

Yantra is so close to the Vatican that we recommend you carry your passport with you whenever you go out – you never know when you'll be tempted back to Musei Vaticani for some exquisite art or to the Sistine Chapel for another look around Michelangelo's frescoed masterpiece. A stroll through the immediate neighbourhood of Prati will bring you back to the present day in stylish fashion with its hidden wine bars, upscale boutiques and trendy art nouveau decorated streets. Upon your return, you'll find a cosy interior with antique objects and a sense of yesteryear charm. While the rustic adornments add interest, we love the quirky wallpaper prints in each bedroom as much as we do the Roman simplicity of this cosy home. There are all the usual mod cons needed for a comfortable stay too, so if you're looking for an authentic experience in an enviable location, then this stripped-back pad is a great option. *At capacity, two people will be ...More Details

    Ocean Eyes
It’s a journey to get to Ocean Eyes, but we promise it’s worth it. Tucked away on the fourth floor of a beautiful Navona building, it comes with an airy terrace, perfect for relaxing with a glass of wine. The immediate street is filled with antique shops – and you’re only a stone’s throw away from the beautiful Piazza Navona. The place itself is quite small (especially if four guests stay here), but we’re willing to look past that as it’s just so charming. *Not everyone will love the free work-out – it’s on the fourth floor with no lift*It sleeps four guests, but two of them would be on a sofa bed in the living room*If privacy is an issue, you might not like the fact that there’s no door to the bedroom Air ConditioningBalconyBathrobesBlack-Out BlindsBuzzer / Wireless IntercomCarbon Monoxide DetectorCentral HeatingCoffee MakerCooking EssentialsCot / CribDishwasherElectricity AdaptorsEspresso MachineExtra Pillows and BlanketsFire Exting...More Details

An apartment in the palace of one of Rome’s greatest aristocratic families – even if we set aside the location – it’s a special place. Four floors stacked on top of each other form the backbone of the flat. The bedrooms are all beautiful, done up to modern standards, but without losing their sense of history or many of their original features. There’s a balcony and a terrace, along with panoramic views from the shower that crowns the flat. It’s a stroke of genius, one of many that elevate this apartment above the rest. Once you've had your morning shower looking out over Rome's rooftops, it's time to hit the streets. The apartment is neatly sandwiched between the stunning baroque beauty of Piazza Navona and the bustling Campo de' Fiori market – with both within a couple of minutes' walk – and close to a host of other Roman sights. Cross over Ponte Garibaldi, and you'll find yourself in trendy Trastevere in a little over ten minutes, whi...More Details

    Principe of Dreams
Close to Termini station (under a twenty-minute walk or just over a ten-minute ride), this home is perfect for those seeking a quick trip to the Italian capital. This multicultural neighbourhood has great connections to trains, airports, and, most importantly, all the big attractions. Wander over to the Colosseum and the Roman Forum in around twenty minutes, while it’s under half an hour on foot to the Trevi Fountain. For dining out, you’ll find traditional trattorias, as well as Asian and African restaurants aplenty (let the concierge here make reservations for you). Back at this recently remodelled apartment, the bathroom and kitchen are sleek and modern – whip up a carbonara and enjoy it at the dining table. We love the bedrooms here – each has its own individual design touches, they are calming and exactly what you need after a long day of sightseeing. *Although there is a lift, guests will have to walk up half a floor to reach the...More Details

    Principe of Life
With Roma Termini station just around the corner, this is the perfect spot for those visiting Rome for a weekend trip. It’s a neighbourhood bursting with restaurants, bars, and cafés, and well-connected to trains, trams, and the metro, located just a six-minute walk away. Most importantly, you'll find all of Rome’s biggest sites close by too. Wander the bustling streets leading you to the Colosseum, just over twenty minutes away on foot, making a pit-stop first at the famous Roman ice cream parlour, Fassi dating back to 1880 and located rather dangerously just long from your apartment. And despite its central location, you’ll be surprised at how quiet this home is, thanks to the communal inner courtyard that welcomes you the moment the grand lobby doors of this historic building open. But there’s nothing dated about the interiors of this completely renovated home. The owners have kept the space sleek and modern to make the most of the n...More Details

    The Lighthouse Keeper
Set in a beautiful square, beside Piazza Navona, this charming home is close to the thick of things while still being off the beaten track. The cobbled alleys could be from a fairy tale and the Chiostro del Bramante is just around the corner. Recently renovated, it's a period apartment with a great deal of character – it's said to date from 1400, after all. Inside you'll find wooden beamed ceilings, shuttered windows, stone walls and tiled floors, along with a mix of antique furniture and more modern pieces. Comfortable and practical, both bedrooms have a dedicated bathroom and there's a well-equipped kitchen if you're planning to cook at home. But here you'll be surrounded by great places to eat and drink, as well as all of Rome's biggest attractions – so you may find you're not at home as often as you might think. The Castel sant'Angelo is within a ten-minute walk and The Vatican is around half an hour on foot. *The second bedroom ha...More Details

    Cielo Cavaliere
Housed in a beautiful rose-coloured 19th-century building, this comfortable apartment in Rome’s Spagna neighbourhood puts you in an ideal position to soak up the city’s history. Pared-back and decorated with a contemporary touch, this home offers a comfortable base with many a lovely detail that will help you feel rested and relaxed. We love the glossy marble floors that add a touch of luxe here and the shelves brimming with books that invite gentle reading on the sofa with an espresso or an aperitif in hand. The bedroom’s private balcony gives way to views over the Tiber River, while the sleek bathroom is a treat to wake up to each morning for a refreshing shower or a luxurious bath to end the night. When it comes to sightseeing, you’ve got plenty to see and do within easy walking distance, including Piazza Navona (a nine-minute walk), the Pantheon (a ten-minute walk), Villa Borghese (a twelve-minute walk) and the ever-romantic Trevi...More Details

    Notte Cavaliere
Situated directly on the riverbank, this apartment offers stunning views of the Tiber and the Ara Pacis Museum from the big windows and two quaint balconies. The balcony is a dream – we loved starting our day with an alfresco espresso and ending the evening with a glass of wine as the sun went down across the city's rooftops. The design inside veers towards sleek simplicity, and although it may lack a little bit of pizazz, we appreciated how comfortable the squishy sofas and plush bed were after a long afternoon on our feet. And the use of space is pretty ingenious – for instance, the compact kitchenette is hidden behind a set of folding wooden doors. It's small, so we wouldn't suggest rustling up Italian feasts but it'll do the job for light bites and quick breakfasts before heading out for the day.And trust us, you'll be doing a lot of exploring here. Tales From The Riverbank
Finding a street close to it all but not inundated with tourists is the holy grail in Rome – and that's precisely where you'll find this apartment. We call it the Goldilocks zone. But, ever the professional, your host Michele hasn’t used that as an excuse to rest on his laurels. The flat itself is in perfect condition, and while it doesn’t have the feeling of a family home, that’s often a good thing when it's not a sprawling home with space for all the host's personal items. The two bedrooms are on opposite sides of the flat, which is perfect for groups of friends travelling together, though families might want little ones closer by, or not. We understand. Sandwiched between the river and lively Campo de' Fiori, you're in a prime location to explore the city. The square is home to the city's most vibrant (and occasionally overpriced) street market (Monday-Saturday mornings). Still, this famous foodie haven is a good place to stock up on...More Details

Edoardo looks after a few places in the same building, so in a sense, it’s not a dissimilar experience to a hotel, albeit with the autonomy afforded by an apartment. Ambrosia View
Often, location is the most important consideration when choosing a home, and Ambrosia View has that down. At the end of the street (a gorgeous, cobbled alleyway), you have the Tiber, while Piazza Navona isn’t far in the other direction. The flat itself is small, but there’s no shortage of restaurants and wine bars in the area, so there’s plenty to do if you feel like getting outside. *While there is a double sofa bed, we wouldn't recommend it as it's in the same room as the main bed*This is a studio so space is at a premium*You'll have to take the stairs to the second floor as there's no lift*There's no oven or dishwasher*The only windows are on one side of the room, so it can get dark at the back Air ConditioningBreakfast IncludedBuzzer / Wireless IntercomCarbon Monoxide DetectorCentral HeatingChild FriendlyCot / CribDryerElectricity AdaptorsFanFire ExtinguisherFirst Aid KitFree Parking On PremisesHair DryerHangersHigh ChairIronKitc...More Details

Before we even stepped foot in this apartment we fell in love with it. Located just beside Termini station, you're connected to the entire Eternal city, while also being only a nineteen-minute walk away from the Colosseum. You really couldn't be better placed. Inside, the home has a warm, genuine feel to it with vibrant patterned wallpapers, pops of colour and dark wooden furnishings. Sleep soundly in the charming bedrooms where plenty of natural light pours through the Juliet balconies and into the rustic yet homely interior. Take to the stylish breakfast bar for a quick coffee, before exploring the iconic sights of Rome. With great links to the wider area and Italy as a whole, if you're ever looking to roam beyond the city (unlikely, we know), a trip back into the past to the ancient site of Pompeii is an excellent excursion and is just over two hours on the train. *It's quite close to the railway station, so you might be able to hea...More Details

Finding somewhere that can comfortably sleep eight (and ten, at a stretch) in the Jewish Quarter isn’t as straightforward as you might think. Finding somewhere that can comfortably sleep eight and has a view as good as Teatro’s is even harder. It looks down onto the Largo di Torre Argentina, which holds the ruins of four temples and Pompey’s Theatre. It’s a fantastic spot, and Teatro makes the most of it, with a simple design intended to not interfere. *Even though this in a restricted-traffic zone, it's very busy outside and you can expect some noise*The fake plants in the living room feel a bit unnecessary*While as many as ten people can stay here, there are only two bathrooms (as well as a separate toilet)*As is quite common in Italian homes, the washing machine is on a balcony outside*Two people can sleep on a sofa bed in the living room Air ConditioningBalconyBlack-Out BlindsBuzzer / Wireless IntercomCarbon Monoxide DetectorCentr...More Details

No monument captures the spirit of Rome quite as like the Colosseum, and being as close to the amphitheatre as this home is a real privilege. Just six minutes (on foot) to the emblematic attraction, and a traditional local area full of authentic eateries and beautiful tangerine buildings – you're perfectly placed here. Back home, you'll find a sociable open-plan living room, kitchen and dining area benefitting from sleek grey floors, tasteful artwork of the city by night and plenty of natural light pouring in. Wandering through the home, you'll notice a collection of art and literature books, quirky adornments and funky printed wallpapers in the bedrooms. There, those who are working from home during their stay will be able to power through emails at the dedicated desk spaces. The other thing that really makes the flat stick out is Simona and her hosting. She’s an absolute delight and will do everything possible to make your stay as goo...More Details

Simple yet practical with an emphasis on comfort and privacy, rather than any delusions of grandeur, this home offers a humble stay that provides a relaxing atmosphere to return to after action-packed trips out in Rome. Where the apartment really comes alive is in the personality of the space. Strange as it might seem, the home has something of a sense of humour and playfulness that manifests itself in the design and decorations. Mid-century furniture creates a rather European set-up as it's clear from the moment you step inside that you're on holiday in Italy. House plants, terracotta bedroom walls and quirky artwork set the scene for an authentic stay with bags of character. Since Rome's world-renowned sights are all within close reach, you'll have an idyllic base from which to explore the city with ease. Take a ten-minute stroll to Villa Borghese or hop on the easily accessible bus and tram lines to visit tourist attractions further ...More Details

    Left Unsaid
This second-floor apartment in a Prati building dating back to the 1940s illustrates how to incorporate some eccentricity into a home's interior design without going overboard. Colourful pieces of artwork, gold motifs and boldly patterned feature walls pop off satisfyingly against the white walls, while the silverback gorilla in the living room is a playful addition. The kitchen and bathrooms play it relatively simple in comparison but are equally notable for their high quality — we especially liked the whirlpool bathtub. The location is another plus point in our books. Castel Sant'Angelo and the surrounding Parco della Mole Adriana are only ten minutes' walk away, while Vatican City takes about a quarter of an hour to reach on foot. *Two people can sleep on a sofa bed in the living room*Although the apartment can be reached by elevator and is step-free once inside, there are three steps before you reach the lift*While there's a small ...More Details

    Left Unspoken
Clean and minimalist are often used as euphemisms for uninspirational and bland – a safe choice that won’t offend but won’t excite either. However, your host Luca has managed the not insignificant task of creating a simple, calm interior that still manages to evoke emotion. It’s also practical – with two bathrooms, it feels like the sofa bed is a feasible option rather than thrown in to inflate the guest count. The location is a twenty-minute walk from the Vatican and convenient for exploring further afield on the metro, with the likes of the Colosseum within a twenty-five-minute journey. With elegant buildings, neatly designed streets, and residential charisma, Prati mixes the charm of classic Rome with the pace of a bustling business district. *Two people can sleep on a sofa bed in the living room* Child-friendly amenities such as a cot, baby bath and highchair are available upon request*There's a short flight of steps before you rea...More Details

    The Yellow Jersey
Just a ten-minute walk from the Vatican Museums, this viable apartment works particularly well for larger groups of friends or family who value a bit more privacy than a standard flat might offer. The bedrooms are set up to be largely self-contained, with plenty of storage, and en-suite bathrooms all round. Each has its own look, although all three follow an industrial-style theme with artistic lighting and vibrant wallpaper prints – and for those keeping one eye on work during their stay, you'll find a well-designed desk space in each bedroom. There's a charming, mint-green kitchenette to whip up simple meals in and a quirky breakfast bar to map out the day's adventure. Speaking of, visit St. Peter's Basilica and the Vatican City, less than a half-hour walk from your front door. Surrounded by cheery cafés, alfresco bars and authentic restaurants, this is a glorious spot from which to experience Rome. *Two of the three bedrooms have si...More Details
