    Artist's Haven

Once owned by famous painter Albert Jill, this apartment lies in the heart of Rome. The decor is a bit dated and children and toddlers aren't permitted, but we think friends or families with older children will settle right in. The wi-fi isn't the strongest in all rooms so it's perhaps not the best for remote working, but Jill's unique art adorns the walls and the location is wonderful. You'll be on a quiet cobblestone street, but you may still hear some non-disruptive outside noise from the city. Within walking distance, you'll find an array of shops, restaurants, and attractions like the Pantheon and Trevi Fountain, with public transport nearby for getting around. *Parking in Rome can be tricky, so we recommend sticking to easily accessible public transport.*This home isn't suitable for toddlers or children, but babies may be welcome – your host can provide a free cot, and you'll need to request this in advance.*You can expect to bum...More Details

    Latin Poetry

On the third floor of an 18th-century building in the heart of Rome, you'll find this gorgeous apartment. With plenty of Italian charm, it's a million miles away from a soulless city hotel room, and we think you'll settle in within no time at all. The owner of this magical spot was inspired by his love of photography when designing the interior, which carefully balances old and new influences. You'll love the bright and airy living space, where you can plan your itinerary over a glass of Chianti, and the smart kitchen which is sure to inspire you to whip up some pasta. The study is full of books on a range of topics, and you can catch up on your own work at the smart desk space. And, in the bedrooms, you can admire the pretty Fornasetti wallpapers before enjoying a great night's sleep. If you're arriving by train, or want to use Rome's public transport network, then you'll be happy to know that Termini station is just five minutes away....More Details

    Verdant Verde

This stylish apartment is right around the corner from Termini, Rome's biggest train station, so there's no doubt that the transport links are excellent. But many of the must-see sights can also be reached on foot, including the magnificent Basilica Papale di Santa Maria Maggiore five minutes away and The Colosseum just a little further, about a twenty-minute stroll. After fueling up on pasta and gelato at Mercato Centrale Roma across the street, set off for the Trevi Fountain, The Pantheon and The Spanish Steps, all reachable in under half an hour. When you're not off exploring, shopping or sipping Italian wine at one of the bars in this area, rest your tired feet back at home. We love the bold green colours and funky design – picture cowhide rugs, vibrant pop art and leafy wallpaper in the bedroom. The bathroom is also one of our favourites – it has a huge walk-in rain shower that's the perfect way to relax after a busy day. And this ...More Details

    Gateway to the City

This apartment places you in central Rome and is ideal for work trips and weekend breaks. While the living area is small and storage is tight, both bedrooms are comfortable with fold-out futons for fifth and sixth guests. The location does mean there is the potential for some outside noise, but right on your doorstep, you'll find restaurants and a train station for getting around. There's also on-site parking available for a fee. You're in for a convenient and simple stay here – your host can help arrange airport transfers and someone will meet you when you first arrive to ensure you get settled and answer any questions. *At full capacity, two guests will sleep on fold-out futons – there is one in each bedroom. *Your host can provide a free cot and high chair if you're travelling with little ones. *This home is in an apartment building in a central location – there is a chance you may hear outside noise during your stay. *The stove in...More Details

    Grandezza Romana

There’s no better way to embrace the history of Rome than to stay in a former 17th-century palace. This apartment’s building embraces the spirit of the “grandezza romana” with its ornate doorway just next to a local pizzeria and marble statues in the ancient stairwell. Stepping into the apartment itself you’re met with grand, high ceilings and a traditional parquet floor. Old double doors let the space flow from the living room, to the dining room and a bijou little kitchen. You’re in a prime location here too. Apart from the buzzing pizzeria literally on your doorstep, there is myriad local trattoria serving up plates of carbonara and tiramisu in the historic streets around you. It’s a seven-minute stroll to Piazza di Spanga (where the Spanish Steps are) and the Trevi Fountain is one minute's walk away, showing just how central this apartment is. *The kitchen is sunny but rather compact, but there are plenty of restaurants on your doo...More Details

    Luogo d'Olive

Perched next to the synagogue and the river, Luogo d’Olive is right at the heart of the old Jewish quarter. It’s full of designer furniture, from the Mangiarotti dining table to the Stilnovo chandelier, and this gives it a sense of luxury. However, the abundance of natural light stops any of the design from feeling too heavy or overwhelming, which is always a bit of a risk when decking out a flat with such high-end things. *There's a lift but it starts on the first floor, so you'll have to climb one flight of stairs. *Two guests will be on a sofa bed in the living room. *The bathroom doesn't have any windows. *Given the home's central spot, expect to hear some street noise throughout your stay. *This is a much-used home and so shows some signs of wear and tear. Roman Dream

This apartment in central Rome is full of surprises. You'll find it tucked away in a former 17th-century palace, but despite the bevvy of traditional features, the whole pad has a contemporary feel – we're talking neon signs, a crystal staircase, and all the modern comforts you'll need. Downstairs, a wellness area is ideal for relaxing, but the biggest gem of all is the private inner courtyard, perfect for alfresco aperitifs. We love the location, too. Via dei Coronari is a few steps away – famous for its antique shops – with many other landmarks reachable on foot, including Piazza Navona and the Trevi Fountain. *Pets weighing 8kg and under are allowed to join you here.*The seventh guest will sleep on a single sofa bed.*Please note that two of the bedrooms are located in the basement. These rooms are near the boiler, which can be a tad noisy.*This home has an independent entrance off of Via dei Coronari.*Daily cleaning is provided duri...More Details

    Il Canarino

Part of a nineteenth-century palazzo building constructed in neoclassical style, this duplex apartment is actually way more modern than the exterior suggests. Large pieces of bold artwork and bright bursts of colour make the interior feel fresh and vibrant, while the minimalist staircase leading up to the cosy mezzanine bedroom is stylish as they come. It's immediately clear that the host has opted for quality when putting the space together, The yellow kitchen area was designed by Italian design firm Mudulnnova and is stocked with silverware and crockery from Villeroy \u0026 Boch. All this, and the location in the Centro Storico is outstanding, too. From the building's front door, look left and you'll see the sixteenth-century Chiesa del Gesù, while in the other direction, there's the ancient site of Largo di Torre Argentina where Julius Caesar was assassinated. The Pantheon only takes six minutes to reach on foot, too. *The bedroom i...More Details

    The Roman Cardinal

You’ll have trattorias, craft beer pubs, and independent shops on your doorstep at this apartment in the bohemian neighbourhood of Trastervere. And discovering the rest of the city will be a breeze, with many of Rome’s must-sees within walking distance. The layout of this home won’t suit everyone – the bed is on a mezzanine level, accessed via a ladder, and there’s not much space for preparing meals in the narrow kitchen. We think it’s best for a couple or solo traveller wanting to drop their bags and head out to explore. *While babies are welcome, this home isn't suitable for toddlers or children. Start mornings with fresh coffee and locally bought pastries at the cosy dining table and spend evenings on the striped sofa with a glass of Italian wine. At night, the inviting bed beckons a comfortable night’s sleep, while the shelf of books offers the perfect excuse for an easy-going morning of reading before setting off to see the sights. Outdoor space is a rarity in this historic city, but this charming home has no fewer than three terraces to choose from. Right next to the Tiber, just a fifteen-minute walk from most of the city's big attractions, you'll have incredible, 360º views – and the sunset over the Vatican is something really special. The interior is colourful and comfortable, and while it's stylish, it's easy to feel at home. It’s split over two levels at the top of a traditional building but there's a lift to take you up to your front door. All the terraces are excellent (and one is just off the kitchen so perfect for meals outdoors) but the show is well and truly stolen by the rooftop terrace. Climb the steps for one of the best views in this part of the city – it's even head and shoulders above a nearby rooftop bar. Out and about you'll find plenty of great places to eat and drink on your doorstep, and all of central Rome is easily walkable. *Although the...More Details

    Principe of Dreams

Close to Termini station (under a twenty-minute walk or just over a ten-minute ride), this home is perfect for those seeking a quick trip to the Italian capital. This multicultural neighbourhood has great connections to trains, airports, and, most importantly, all the big attractions. Wander over to the Colosseum and the Roman Forum in around twenty minutes, while it’s under half an hour on foot to the Trevi Fountain. For dining out, you’ll find traditional trattorias, as well as Asian and African restaurants aplenty (let the concierge here make reservations for you). Back at this recently remodelled apartment, the bathroom and kitchen are sleek and modern – whip up a carbonara and enjoy it at the dining table. Roman Standard

Right on the edge of Campo Marzio, Roman Standard is in an enviable position among some of the smartest boutiques in Italy. It’s tucked under the eaves, so it’s worth noting that parts of the ceiling slope down and are therefore quite low. In the end though, this adds to the cosy feel of the whole place – there’s even a fireplace to keep you warm if you’re there during winter (it’s also there in summer, you’re just less likely to need it). *There's no shower, only a bath*Antonio might not be there to greet you personally, but self-check-in is easy enough*The boiler is on display in bathroom*It's seventy-seven steps up to the door of the apartment, with no lift*The bins are at the bottom of the stairs, in the atrium to the building*Some of the rooms are under the eaves so there are parts of the ceiling that are quite low*Two people can sleep on a sofa bed in the living room Air ConditioningBathtubBlack-Out BlindsBuzzer / Wireless Inter...More Details

Boughs is hard to do justice without experiencing it first-hand. It’s all about the living room, with its wooden beams and terracotta tiles making it a really warm and welcoming space. In comparison, the rest of the flat seems underwhelming - the kitchen’s a bit small, and the bedroom a little spartan - but most things would struggle to live up to that living room. Being on the top floor of an apartment building often, although not always, brings two perks — good views and plenty of daylight. This home in the Campo Marzio neighbourhood of Rome delivers on both fronts, with large windows gazing out over the city's rooftops. We have a lot of good things to say about the interior, from the sumptuous four-poster bed to the sleek black kitchen. There's even a terrace on which to start the day with coffee and breakfast. Location-wise, a first-time visitor to Rome couldn't wish for better. Many of the big-hitters are within walking distance, while there's also a fresh food market around the corner from the building should you want to stock up on authentic ingredients for an Italian feast. *There's a very slight slope to the floor in some rooms*As you're right in the heart of Rome, you can expect a lot of tourists on the streets below, although it does quieten down at night*The apartment building has a l...More Details

Much like its sister apartment in the same building, Green Jay has an air of nobility that surrounds it. Antique furniture, dark wooden windows, and tiled floors all combine to encapsulate the feeling of elegance, a feeling which is common in Flaminio. This isn’t the place to stay if you want to be in the very middle of the action, but you get a sense of calm and a detachment from the tourist crowds, which is more than worth the extra journey time. *The kitchen was generally well-equipped but it was missing a few smaller appliances like a toaster or an espresso machine*Three people can sleep on sofa beds in the communal areas of the flat*The building has a porter but only during working hours Air ConditioningBuzzer / Wireless IntercomCentral HeatingChild FriendlyCoffee MakerCooking EssentialsCot / CribDishwasherDryerElectricity AdaptorsFire ExtinguisherFirst Aid KitFreezerFridgeHair DryerHangersHigh ChairIronKitchenKitchen UtensilsLap...More Details

    Eternal City Painting

Sip a negroni cocktail on this home's private terrace right in front of Piazza Del Popolo, with its stunning panoramic views of Rome's historical heart – this is la dolce vita. Inside there are more of those inspiring views of the Eternal City to admire – they stopped us in our tracks when we visited – they look like paintings. The classic style living space has lovely polished wood floors, a feature fireplace and an ornate galleried landing. This home is ideal for a couple, business professional or family of three.Piazza del Popolo is a mere one-minute stroll from this home, or head to Terrazza del Pincio (four minutes on foot) – this 19th-century terrace with its fountains has fabulous views over to St. Peter's Basilica. It's the same walking distance to Villa Borghese Gardens, while Villa Medici is just over a ten-minute walk. Other attractions include the Spanish Steps, a twelve-minute saunter, and the Trevi Fountain, a twenty-minut...More Details

    Aria of the Palms

Dating back to the early 1900s, you can see the turn-of-the-century architecture in the stone steps between terraces and wooden-shuttered windows. It’s a veritable playground for those that seek relaxation in the terraced gardens, where succulents fill the perfectly positioned flower beds. Spend days floating in the sleek, modern swimming pool with its integrated Jacuzzi. Lunch can be taken at the round table on the lower terrace, while dinner can be set up on the upper terrace at the more formal spot. Sun loungers are shaded by parasols and there are two hanging egg chairs for reading in the sun. From here, you can catch a glimpse of the sea with the Pontine islands floating in the deep blue.Inside, it’s an ode to grandeur as rooms are filled with gallery-worthy sculptures and striking paintings. Art deco chandeliers in the luxe living room hark back to the villa’s origins and you can take in that sea view from the comfort of plush sof...More Details

    Lapis Lazuli

It seems beside the point to say that Lapis Lazuli isn’t in the city centre – it’s a destination itself. This is one of the most spectacular places in our collection, with every luxury imaginable, from pool, to sauna, to games room, to a working fireplace. The bedrooms are the least exciting part – they’re functional rather than eye-catching, but that’s probably just because the rest of the house is so incredible. *The house is set over three floors, so there are lots of stairs*When we measured the wi-fi, it was only 5Mbps*The bedrooms upstairs aren't completely separated*Two guests will be on a sofa bed in the living room*The window of the master bedroom looks out onto the internal courtyard Air ConditioningBalcony / PatioBarbequeBathtubBuzzer / Wireless IntercomCarbon Monoxide DetectorCentral HeatingCoffee MakerCooking EssentialsCot / CribDishwasherExtra Pillows and BlanketsFireplaceFree Parking On StreetFridgeGardenGymHair DryerHan...More Details
