Residential Chamberí might not be smack in the middle of Madrid's theatre scene, but if you're in town to relax and see it on your own terms, then you'll appreciate the quieter neighbourhood. Paquelin is a comfortable home in the heart of it, immaculate and simple. With only a few art prints on the walls (which we thoroughly enjoyed) and generally inobtrusive furniture, it's the kind of home that will best suit an adventurous family who will make it their own. The kitchen is on the smaller side, but it's still well equipped and bright. * There are several steps leading to the elevator - no step-free access unfortunately* Our home critic reported that the entrance to this building was hard to find – keep in touch with the lovely host if you have any trouble* The WiFi was a little patchy in the second bedroom when we tested* There are no curtains in this home* Although the kitchen is well-equipped with appliances, it doesn't have the bas...More Details

Murals - Mornings
Nestled in the vibrant Lavapiés neighbourhood, where you’ll find medieval streets lined with lively Indian restaurants, authentic Spanish tavernas and cultural centres, lies this minimalist apartment. Granted, it isn’t the most soulful, but if you need a practical base, it fits the brief. Since it’s a studio, all four guests will share the space – two of which will be sleeping on the sofa bed. And while the terrace is somewhat overlooked by the neighbouring buildings, it’s still a lovely spot for a post-sightseeing glass of wine. *At full capacity, two guests will sleep on the sofa bed. Since this is a studio apartment, all four guests will share the same space. *This home was purpose-built for rentals, so it's not the most soulful or charming space. The kitchen feels a little dated. *This home is in a residential building. Expect to bump into your neighbours during your stay. *You won't find a desk here, but the dining table doubles u...More Details

The Colour of Zen
Located just north of Madrid’s vibrant Malasaña neighbourhood, this modern apartment puts you in a prime position to explore the city’s historic sights, all while enjoying the many coffee shops, bakeries and vintage clothing stores around you. Inside, parquet floors, contemporary furnishings and vibrant pops of tangerine orange in the plump sofa’s throw cushions set a welcoming scene in the living area. We love the glossy finish of the glass table’s metal legs – the ideal spot to enjoy an intimate meal when you’re not out sampling the local tapas scene – as well as the large mirror here that helps maximise this petite but perfectly pretty space. The bedroom, meanwhile, is a fashionably pared-back and has been curated with a restful sleep in mind. When it comes to sightseeing, walk seventeen minutes to go shopping along Gran Vía with its beautifully striking architecture, or head to bustling Plaza de España, just over a twenty-minute st...More Details
