    On Balance
With its New York-like appeal (think exposed brickwork), paired with a minimalist aesthetic and black-and-white photography, it’s needless to say that On Balance is special. It’s a little small (you have to share one bathroom), but we’re willing to look past that minor detail. More importantly, On Balance is in a great location. Tucked away in between some of Berlin’s most famous, and most important, sites, it’s great for travellers looking to explore the city’s historic side. You’ll find lots of art galleries, museums, and the Berlin Wall Memorial within walking distance. *This home is located on the lower ground floor, so it doesn't get a lot of natural light*The kitchen is small and equipped with only the basics*Two of the bedrooms have limited storage space Black-Out BlindsBuzzer / Wireless IntercomCentral HeatingDishwasherFanHome Cinema SetupIronMultiple Sets of KeysNetflixTVUnderfloor HeatingWi-fi...More Details

    The Ivory Empress
Adventurous. Nostalgic. Sophisticated. The Ivory Empress is all of that and more. Set in a building from the 1900s, its history is celebrated by the light colour palette, gorgeous wooden floors and magnificent works of art. It’s easy to see that the host has an eye for design – most things are sourced from flea markets, with each piece of art and furniture telling a story. Located right on the border between Kreuzberg and Neukölln in a neighbourhood the locals call Kreuzkölln, this five-bedroom home is in a place where hipster coffee shops meet multicultural Berlin. *Bedroom four is on the small side and only has a single bed*The beds in bedroom three are separated by a wall divider – don't expect plenty of privacy*Heavy packers beware – there’s not a lot of space for unpacking your suitcase*This home faces a busy street – if the windows are open, it might get noisy*The lift is not suitable for wheelchairs*The outdoor courtyard space i...More Details

With a huge vinyl collection, guitars on the walls and an out-of-this-world sound system, there’s no doubt that Melomania is a music lover’s dream. It’s stylishly decorated with splashes of colour, relaxing balconies and a rooftop with striking 360 views of Berlin’s rooftops. And let’s not forget about the open shower. We love that everything is designed with meticulous attention to detail, making for a luxurious stay in one of Berlin’s hippest neighbourhoods. * There’s currently no home manual — you’ll have to ask for help on how to use the appliances* This is a lived-in home — expect to share the space with some of the host’s belongings* Guests 3 and 4 would be on a double bed on the mezzanine level* The fridge can currently only be opened from the top — the host is working on changing this* Kreuzberg is very hip and popular with a bar-loving, partying crowd — if you’re looking for peace and quiet, you should probably look elsewhere*...More Details

    The Blue Angel
At the exact point where Kreuzberg meets Neukölln, we find The Blue Angel. Kreuzkölln, as the locals call it, is a blend of multiple identities - there’s the multicultural atmosphere, the hipster bars, and a mix of both expensive abodes and rundown buildings. The Blue Angel embodies all of it with its high ceilings and original plaster details paired with contemporary photo prints and vintage furniture in the kitchen. * Access to the bed in bedroom 3 is via one side only* The lift is not suitable for wheelchairs* When we visited, we saw some scuff marks on the walls* The balcony opens up to a busy and noisy road* The graveyard view from some of the bedrooms isn’t for everyone* Bedroom 5 is located on a slightly elevated platform in the living room - curtains can be drawn for privacy, but it’s still not super private* Expect for bedroom 2, all bedrooms are on the smaller side* The outdoor courtyard space is communal and shared between a...More Details

    Blonde Venus
On the top floor of a beautiful 1900s building, we find Blonde Venus. We love its roomy terrace with views of Berlin, perfect for warm summer evenings - as well as its location in funky Kreuzkölln, which lies in the intersection of Kreuzberg and Neukölln. This three-bedroom home has a lot of charm, especially when it comes to all the intact characteristics that allude to the building’s past. * Neither of the bathrooms have low-voltage plugs * The lift is not suitable for wheelchairs* When we visited, we saw some scuff marks on the walls* Because the home isn’t baby-proof, the host has decided to rent it out to adults and older children only* Bedroom 3 is on the smaller side* Tall people be aware - the shower in bathroom 2 is only 195 cm tall* The double bed in bedroom 2 can be pulled apart to make two single beds* There’s no AC - and since it’s the top floor flat, it can get hot in the summer months* Kreuzkölln is on the up, but it's n...More Details

    The Acrobat
Boasting a sought-after location in the beating heart of Berlin Mitte and a stone's throw from Prenzlauer Berg, this stylish home provides an idyllic base for families and groups of friends. Here, you're a four-minute stroll from Rosenthaler Platz, with its bustling array of cafes, art galleries, eateries and bars, and handy public transport links. You'll find this home tucked away in a leafy row of elegant, pastel-hued architecture. Inside, it's a timeless combination of high ceilings and parquet flooring, adorned with contemporary decor and a vibrant colour pallete. We love the open-plan living space, with its fully-equipped kitchen, dining table and cosy corners for relaxation, including a plush l-shaped sofa and little reading nook. Slide open the floor-to-ceiling glass doors and discover the sleek private balcony. Offering pretty views of the courtyard below, this is your very own secluded sanctuary from Mitte's hustle and bustle. A...More Details

    The Flying Classroom
This home is made of memories – not only Caspar’s but also the school that the 170-year-old Altbau structure used to house. Both rustic and eclectic, it combines Berlin’s rough-around-the-edges aesthetic with industrial elements, crystal chandeliers, Ostbahnhof tiles, and vintage oil paintings. To put it simply, there’s a story behind every single item in this home. A dynamic, creative space that we can’t get enough of, it’s split across three levels – we guarantee you’ll discover something new and surprising at every corner. *We couldn’t find a home manual when we visited – the hosts are in the process of preparing one*Not everyone will love the free work-out – it’s split across three floors, and you also have to climb eighty-nine steps to get to the front door as there’s no lift*This home doesn’t accept toddlers or children *Neither of the bathrooms have doors – make sure you’re comfortable with the people you share this home with B...More Details

    Work It Out
We're loving the bohemian-chic approach to this urban pad, placed in Berlin's traffic-calmed Friedrichshain neighbourhood – where indie boutiques and casual cafes create an alternative, artsy vibe. There are three stylish bedrooms with dedicated office spaces in each one, making the home ideal for business trips and friendly get-togethers with one eye on work. Stylish decorative details are everywhere to be seen, with intentional yet minimalist decor creating a relaxed atmosphere. Gather the group together for some German apple pancakes in the sleek communal area as you hatch out the day's plan. With so much to see and do, make sure you factor in less work and a lot more play to your stay here. We recommend starting with a half-hour walk through the surrounding area to the historic East Side Gallery, before hopping on the metro to sprawling Kreuzberg – beloved by students and locals alike for its quirky thrift shops, cafe culture and la...More Details

    The Reformer
Part of a beautiful Altbau, we loved the nooks and crannies that give this home a cosiness that can be hard to find in apartments of this size and with such high ceilings. All of the living spaces are connected, making it an extremely sociable space, but the cherry on top is the Pilates studio, which guests are more than welcome to use (though we recommend taking a lesson from your host first). With two children’s bedrooms, The Reformer is probably best suited for a family and it’s therefore only fitting that the neighbourhood is just as family-oriented. *Not everyone will appreciate the free workout to the first floor of this apartment with no lift*This is a lived-in home so you can expect some signs of wear and tear and few scuff marks*Unfortunately, there is only one full bathroom so be prepared to share the space*Two of the bedrooms are set up for children*You have to walk through bedroom 2 to reach bedroom 3 BathtubBreakfast Incl...More Details

    Café Electric
Inside a beautifully renovated 1920s building, we find Café Electric. It’s located at the exact point where Neukölln and Kreuzberg meet, a micro-neighbourhood that the locals call Kreuzkölln. Even though it’s a small space on paper, we don’t get that impression once we step into the luminous living room that feels a little like a tree house. It's complete with cosy sofas and a mix of unique art and design lamps, and it's also got a nice collection of board games that makes for a fun night in. * Neither of the bathrooms have low-voltage plugs * The lift is not suitable for wheelchairs* The outdoor courtyard space is communal and shared between all residents of the building* Because the home isn’t baby-proof, the host has decided to rent it out to adults and older children only* The graveyard view from some of the bedrooms isn’t for everyone* The balcony opens up to a busy street and can be noisy at times * Kreuzkölln is on the up, but i...More Details

    Rock The Boat
Always dreamt of living on a boat? Well, now’s your chance. Found on the Spree, Rock The Boat offers an experience out of the ordinary (it can even be rented with a crew for an additional touch of luxury). The interiors are masterfully designed by Davide Rizzo, and the attention to detail shows – we loved the cosy fireplace, airy bedrooms, and the collection of antiques decorating every corner. It’s simple really, we can’t say no to a place like this – especially when it involves such stunning and calming views of the water. *This is a houseboat – we recommend guests prone to seasickness to look somewhere else*We couldn’t find a home manual when we visited*Location-wise, it’s not the best – Mitte is about a thirty to forty minute journey by way of public transport BarbequeBathtubCentral HeatingCooking EssentialsDryerFire ExtinguisherFireplaceFirst Aid KitFree Parking On PremisesFridgeHair DryerHangersIronKitchenKitchen UtensilsLaptop ...More Details

    Touch of Warhol
Touch of Warhol is a cosy flat nestled between Kreuzberg and Neukölln in a neighbourhood the locals call Kreuzkölln. It’s up-and-coming, so expect hipster-esque hotspots full of artsy Berliners mixed in with these rough edges. This three-bedroom home is perfect for the artistically inclined, especially if you appreciate pop artists like Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein. The building is from the early 1900s and it’s been lovingly renovated with modern amenities, old-school board games and charming details aplenty. * The lift is not suitable for wheelchairs* The outdoor courtyard space is communal and shared by all residents of the building* The home isn’t baby-proof, so the host has decided to rent it out to adults and older children only* The graveyard view from some of the bedrooms isn’t for everyone* The balcony opens up onto a busy street and can be noisy at times * Kreuzkölln is on the up, but it's not quite like Kreuzberg yet* Whe...More Details

    The Witty Musician
Located in charming Schöneberg, we love how bright and soulful this three-bedroom home is. The Roaring Twenties
Sexy with an edge of Hollywood Regency, this home couldn’t be better suited for a cosy couple in need of some glamour and luxury. Starting their journey in a restored elevator from the 1920s, guests will have an idyllic adventure before even stepping into the moody apartment underneath the gabled roof. Candid Camera
Industrial meets rustic, Candid Camera is one of a kind. Located just fifteen minutes from Volkspark Friedrichshain, you’re in a beautiful area packed with bars, restaurants and shops. It’s not difficult to see that Ludger has put a lot of love and effort into designing this space, especially when it comes to all the eye-catching decorations. With a well-equipped kitchen and a cosy terrace, it’s a great place to unwind after a long day of sightseeing. *While it sleeps six guests, the last two would be on a sofa bed in the living room*The walls could do with a lick of paint to cover up scuff marks*The windows in the bedrooms don’t open*There’s no home manual at the moment*Even though it sleeps six guests, there aren’t enough seats for everyone to sit down at the same time Central HeatingDishwasherDVD LibraryFanHair DryerHerb GardenIronMultiple Sets of KeysNetflixRain ShowerThrowsTVUmbrellasWi-fi...More Details

    The Kumiko
As soon as you walk through the front door, The Kumiko meets you with an incredible sense of zen. With its light-filled interiors and Japanese-inspired furniture, it appears calm and soothing right off the bat. We can’t get over the indulgent three-sixty views of Berlin’s skyline – even though it’s in Schöneberg, you can see the roofs of some of the city’s most famous attractions from the balcony in the distance. As part of a hotel, you can also expect a fair share of amenities, like a garden that hosts regular yoga classes and a stylish lobby. *The shower isn’t the most private we’ve seen – the only thing separating it from the rest of the space is a partitioning wall*It’s part of a hotel – access is through a lobby*The kitchen isn’t well-equipped – it’s actually more of a kitchenette as there’s no oven*The bathroom is split into two – you'll find the shower and WC in separate rooms*The host will require your credit card upon check-in...More Details

    Baroque Chronology
Baroque Chronology is the kind of eclectic home that you can only find in Berlin. Part Baroque dream, part DDR-era building, it’s a place where contrasts meet to make something new. With antique Swarovski chandeliers, a Berlin mural, vintage mahogany furniture, and the 1980s style jacuzzi, it’s got a theatrical feel. Baroque Chronology might not be for everyone, but curious minds and people looking for luxurious beds will feel right at home here. * This home isn’t located in Berlin’s most charming neighbourhood - but it’s only a short ride from Alexanderplatz and the centre of Prenzlauer Berg* This is a ground floor flat and there is not a huge amount of natural light* There are two beds in the second bedroom* If full occupancy is reached, there’s only one bathroom for all six guests* This is a characterful flat filled with weird and wonderful things – if you are a minimalist at heart then this isn't the one for you BicyclesBlack-Out ...More Details

    Show and Tell
Show and Tell is one of those homes that’s brimming with charisma. From the high ceilings to the vintage mid-century furniture and Moroccan style tiles, small treasures are hiding around every corner waiting to be found. A family home to the bone, it also houses a piano (great for playing cheery tunes) and a stylish children’s bedroom with bunk beds. Moments away from Volkspark Friedrichshain, you’re in an attractive part of Berlin that’s full of soul. *The layout is a little awkward – bedroom three can only be accessed via bedroom two*Bedroom two is clearly set up for children with bunk beds and lots of toys*The wifi is a little slow*There's a dog who usually lives here – it won't be around during your stay, but allergies might be a problem*If you’re staying for a longer period of time, the host asks that you help to water the plants*The walls could do with a lick of paint to cover up scuff marks*This is a lived-in home, expect to sha...More Details

    Making Waves
Making Waves is one of a kind. Situated just behind Berlin’s cluster of galleries, it’s also within walking distance to the architectural masterpiece that is Gleisdreieck Park. On top of being fully equipped (the kitchen is a particular favourite of ours), we also love how stylish it is. Much of the furniture is custom made for the space, and it has a tranquil atmosphere that we can’t get over. As a bonus, it has Sonos speakers in every single room – this includes the bathroom for all the people who enjoy a good sing along session in the shower. *The bed in bedroom three can be used as both a single or a small double*Get ready for a free work-out – it’s on the second floor with no lift*When we visited, the wifi wasn’t super fast*Special mention to TV lovers – there's no television in this home BalconyBlack-Out BlindsBlenderBuzzer / Wireless IntercomCentral HeatingChild FriendlyChildren's DinnerwareCoffee MakerCooking EssentialsCot / C...More Details
