    Authentic Italian village house

Take a break from the heat and the bustle of the big city of Rome and experience living and remote working in an authentic Italian village, in your cozy home in Nemi. Nemi is located in the Alban Hills, a quiescent volcanic complex just outside (approx 20 km southeast) of Rome. The hills, especially around the shores of the lakes, have been popular since prehistoric times, and there are numerous villages and towns, . the Castelli Romani. Boasting wonderful views over the Roman countryside from its perch high above the lake with which it shares its name, beautiful Nemi is one of the Castelli`s must-visit destinations. The tiny historic centre is a character-filled tangle of narrow streets unfolding around imposing Palazzo Ruspoli and the adjacent piazza. Besides the spectacular panoramas, Nemi`s real draw is the local variety of strawberry: smaller than your average fragola, these little gems are bursting with flavour and can be...More Details

There isn’t much that’s more Italian than a Vespa, and Farobasso has two of them. These are the most eye-catching vintage objects in the apartment, but there are many more - the host has tied the theme together nicely. The entire place has been recently redone, and you can tell from the excellent condition it’s in - the bathrooms in particular feel spotless. However, Farobasso is a way out of the historic centre. It might be well-placed to visit the Vatican, but to get to the Trevi fountain, or the Colosseum, you might be tempted to commandeer one of the scooters. *Despite being well-placed for the Vatican, Aurelio isn't a very central part of the city*The wi-fi isn't very fast*The small balcony feels as if it could be put to better use*Guests 10, 11 and 12 will be on sofa beds - two in the living room and one in the master bedroom Air ConditioningBalconyBathtubBlack-Out BlindsBuzzer / Wireless IntercomCentral HeatingChild FriendlyCof...More Details

Located in a narrow street between Piazza di Spagna and Piazza Navona, Kalos is a great home if you want to explore Rome on foot. The insides of this home are immaculate and in spite of mixing several different styles, they create an atmosphere of comfort and luxury. You'll get a beautiful view of the city's skyline from the windows, and if you like an alfresco coffee in the morning, Kalos boasts not one, but two balconies. Take note –three of the five guests will be sleeping in the master bedroom without privacy between the two beds. * There's no lift access to this second-floor home, and there are steps inside as well* We spotted some chipped paint right next to the shower in the second bathroom* At full occupancy, there isn't enough space for everyone to sit on the balconies at the same time*The home isn’t stocked with basic kitchen ingredients or cleaning supplies to get you started * You will need to bring your own toiletries for ...More Details

    Antique Rainbow

When you’re staying in the centre of Rome, it’s pretty much impossible to wander without having to stop in awe to look at historic landmarks or beautiful architecture. And this is especially true of Spagna. As this apartment is only a six-minute walk from the Spanish Steps, eight from the Trevi Fountain, and the same distance to the Pantheon, you'll be left feeling overwhelmed in the most wonderful way.Just off the bustling Via del Corso, this home is set in a typically Roman building. Past the main entrance, an elegant courtyard welcomes you inside – as does your dedicated concierge. They’ll be on hand to help you arrange city tours, as well as airport transfers and most importantly, restaurant recommendations. But before heading off for fine dining, take a look inside the apartment.Stepping into the living space feels like entering a gallery. The owner’s antique furniture, art, and trinkets pepper the room, bringing an old-world elega...More Details

    Maggiore Melody

This apartment near Porta Maggiore is an ideal option for a fuss-free stay. It's not right in the city centre, but nearby bus and tram links can connect you to most of Rome. Though somewhat basic in design, the loft-style layout will suit friends and families – as will the huge terrace, where you can share a bottle of wine and reminisce under the Roman sun. Plan to catch up on work during your visit? Remote working is a breeze with two dedicated desks. *If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a free cot on request.*The bed in the main bedroom is on a small platform. There are also a few steps down to the study area.*One of the single beds is a pull-out trundle, making it a better fit for children.*We think the terrace could use a refresh. It looks a little tired.*This home was purpose-built for rentals, so it's not the most soulful or charming space. Air ConditioningBalconyCentral HeatingCoffee MakerCot / CribDish...More Details

    Naive Melody

Between the old Jewish Quarter and the riverside alleys of Regola, Naive Melody is at the centre at what was the heart of medieval Rome. It was in spotless condition when we arrived, and if you were inclined to stay in, rather than explore the neighbourhood, there’s a 70” TV with Netflix to keep you busy. No one lives in the flat full time, but this isn’t necessarily a problem as Giulia, your host, is a delight – really helpful and forthcoming. *The entrance to the building is a little hard to find, but you'll get precise instructions from Giulia.*Don't try to water the plants – they're artificial.*Guests 3 and 4 will be accommodated in the sofa bed in the living room.*There's a restaurant downstairs, so expect to hear some noise into the early hours.*The bedroom curtains here don't fully block out the sunlight. Luce Verde

Housed in an elegant building dating back to 1949 and designed by architect Angelo di Castro, this bright apartment has recently been renovated, offering a comfortable, central base from which to explore Rome’s historic sights. You’ll immediately notice the ample natural light bathing the entire open-plan living space. Large windows and French doors leading out onto a private balcony make the interiors glimmer. Enjoy your morning coffee on this outdoor spot or perch here with a sundowner before discovering the local trattorias on your doorstep. The bedroom, meanwhile, is pared back and effortlessly stylish and offers a handy desk space for those needing to catch up on work. When you’re ready to explore your surroundings, make a beeline for the beautiful Villa Borghese and its manicured gardens (a thirteen-minute walk) or stroll twenty-two minutes to the iconic Trevi Fountain. You’re also just a four-minute walk from Porta Pia – designed...More Details

    The Modern Roman

You'll find this modern apartment just a short walk from the Spanish Steps. As far as sightseeing goes, this is the place to be – pretty much all of Rome is within easy reach, whether exploring on foot or hopping on public transit. Back home, the two bedrooms offer luxe en-suites – one with a freestanding bath, the other with a roomy light-up shower. The kitchen lacks a few essentials, but space-wise, it's big enough to rustle up a meal or two. But, seeing as you're in the birthplace of pasta, we suggest sampling the delicious cuisine in the nearby restaurants instead of cooking. *The second bathroom has dual access from the bedroom and the hallway.*There's an elevator in the building to reach this home's entrance on the first floor. However, there are some steps inside the actual apartment.*The wi-fi can be temperamental here. It might be worth bringing a personal hotspot device with you if you know you'll need to access the internet....More Details

    Gateway to the City

This apartment places you in central Rome and is ideal for work trips and weekend breaks. While the living area is small and storage is tight, both bedrooms are comfortable with fold-out futons for fifth and sixth guests. The location does mean there is the potential for some outside noise, but right on your doorstep, you'll find restaurants and a train station for getting around. There's also on-site parking available for a fee. You're in for a convenient and simple stay here – your host can help arrange airport transfers and someone will meet you when you first arrive to ensure you get settled and answer any questions. *At full capacity, two guests will sleep on fold-out futons – there is one in each bedroom. *Your host can provide a free cot and high chair if you're travelling with little ones. *This home is in an apartment building in a central location – there is a chance you may hear outside noise during your stay. *The stove in...More Details

    Sing Me A Song

Enjoy the quiet side of hip Trastevere, when you stay at this lovely apartment. Nevertheless, there are also plenty of pubs, typical Roman restaurants, and colourful markets on your doorstep to explore. Or head to St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican City and marvel at its Renaissance style splendour (twenty minutes on foot). As soon as we stepped through the front door, we felt at ease here and, better yet, at home. It's clear that this is a loved place with tons of personal touches and quirky details, such as the vintage typewriter. We love this apartment's original floors and high ceilings, as well as the master bedroom with its salmon-pink walls and four-poster bed. Get some fresh air in the garden, then relax on the sofa with a glass of Italian wine. This place is perfect for a couple or solo traveller. *Guests three and four will have to sleep on the sofa bed in the living room*A travel cot is available upon request*Heavy packers ...More Details

Before we even stepped foot in this apartment we fell in love with it. Located just beside Termini station, you're connected to the entire Eternal city, while also being only a nineteen-minute walk away from the Colosseum. You really couldn't be better placed. Inside, the home has a warm, genuine feel to it with vibrant patterned wallpapers, pops of colour and dark wooden furnishings. Sleep soundly in the charming bedrooms where plenty of natural light pours through the Juliet balconies and into the rustic yet homely interior. Take to the stylish breakfast bar for a quick coffee, before exploring the iconic sights of Rome. With great links to the wider area and Italy as a whole, if you're ever looking to roam beyond the city (unlikely, we know), a trip back into the past to the ancient site of Pompeii is an excellent excursion and is just over two hours on the train. *It's quite close to the railway station, so you might be able to hea...More Details

With enchanting views over the typically Roman neighbourhood of Trastevere, this home has a fabulous location. In the heart of Rome, strolling along its meandering medieval streets, you'll find Piazza of Santa Maria (three minutes on foot) – take a seat at one of the cafes here for a coffee or lunch. Then head over to Gianicolo Hill for incredible views of the Vatican's St Peter's Basilica, a fourteen-minute walk away. It's the same distance across the Ponte Sisto to Piazza Navona and a few minutes more to the Pantheon, while it's just over twenty-five minutes to the stunning Trevi Fountain (eighteen minutes by car).Back at this home, whip up an Aperol spritz and then have a rest on the chaise sofa after exploring the Eternal City. Everything about this palatial apartment clicks seamlessly into place. It’s luxurious, opulent even (how else do you describe the marble columns?), but retains a certain grace – a lightness that stops it from feeling over the top. That’s quite an achievement in a place with ceiling frescoes, parquet flooring, and marble arches. While the living space has a real air of elegance, the bedrooms are more modern and stylish, with whitewashed walls, gold accented furnishings and tasteful artwork (plus their own individual coffee machines). Inhabiting the space between a hotel and an apartment, you'll find plenty of other thoughtful amenities during your stay – from a private chef, housekeeping, and 24/7 concierge. Take your breakfast outside, prepared and served by the staff on your rooftop terrace, offering skyline views over the Eternal City. Single Leaf

Gilded gold mirrors, antique furniture, rustic tiled flooring – what this studio apartment lacks in space, it more than makes up for in character. It's packed with plenty of charm, and compared to other apartments of its size, the kitchen is a dream – there's a hob, an oven and a traditional Italian espresso maker to kick-start your mornings. Whether you're unwinding on the sofa with a glass of wine and your favourite Netflix show or nodding off in the sumptuous bed, this apartment feels like a cosy homestead, albeit a tiny one. A stay here will have you living like a local – there's a real sense of community in this bohemian area, and you'll feel like you're part of the action as it unfolds right in front of your window. Verde Cadente

Perched along a quiet cobbled street on the outskirts of bustling Campo de' Fiori, you'll find this Italian villa apartment. As well as being ideally located in one of the prettiest and most central squares in Rome, this apartment is also within walking distance from pretty much every major tourist attraction. For example, you'll find yourself less than five minutes' walk from the Pantheon and Piazza Navona, nine minutes from the Trevi Fountain, and twenty-five minutes to the Colosseum. You've also got plenty of eateries nearby to refuel after a long day of exploring – favourites include seafood linguine at La Tavernetta 48 and creative bruschetta and seasonal dishes at Michelin-recommended CiPASSO – both of which are within a two-minute walk. We'd suggest you pick this home based on location alone, but luckily the classically Roman interior has its own charms. It might not be one for the cutting-edge minimalist, but with high ceilings, antique furniture and tiled floors throughout, there's plenty of character on show here. Finally, there's a lovely big kitch...More Details

Where do you start with this graceful yet modern apartment? Maybe the view of the Colosseum? Perhaps the unusual but brilliant combination of classic, vintage, and glam? Or we could talk about how well-equipped the place is, from the smart electrics system to the luxurious rainfall showers? Sink into the sofa in the master bedroom, admiring the floral design and beauty of the boiserie with a quiet cuppa. We’ll just say that it’s a fantastic home, in a beautiful building, in one of the best areas in the city. Just a fifteen-minute walk to the Colosseum, under thirty minutes (on foot) to Trevi Fountain, as well as being surrounded by authentic bistros, fine-dining restaurants and classy cafés – the limoncello is never far from hand here. *The door to the lift ...More Details

    A Pile of Crowns

If you're planning a trip to Rome but are not so keen on the traditional homes that make up a lot of the options, we would point you in the direction of this contemporary apartment.Against an effortlessly cool backdrop of stark white walls and tiled flooring, much of the interior design embraces industrial-chic trends, from the bare lightbulbs hanging from the ceiling and the chalkboard on the kitchen wall to the bright yellow stools at the kitchen surface. We're also big fans of the Basquiat artworks and the sleek bathroom. In keeping with this stylish interior, the home sits on the trendier side of the Tiber in the neighbourhood of Trastevere, full of fashionable trattorias and photogenic alleyways. If you fancy giving in to your inner tourist at any point, many of the big-hitters aren't far away. Both Piazza Navona and the Pantheon can be seen in twenty minutes' walk, while Castel Sant'Angelo takes just over a quarter of an hour on fo...More Details

With solid wood ceilings and a view of a charming inner courtyard, Clematis feels very Roman. Minimalist in style (with plenty of original features), it’s great for travellers looking for a comfortable base with a historic atmosphere. Even though it’s within walking distance to important monuments (Largo di Torre Argentina, Pantheon, Piazza Navona), the immediate streets are fairly calm with an overriding local feel. *Depending on the time, the check-in might take place in two stages – the first remote, and an in-person welcome the next morning*Nothing in the way of basic ingredients is provided*Guests 3 and 4 would be on a sofa bed in the living room*Aside from the TV, there aren’t that many entertainment options*This home is on the first floor with no lift – you’ll have to climb twenty-one steps to reach the front door*Guests sleeping on the sofa bed should be aware that there are no blinds in the living room to keep out the sunlight...More Details

Simple yet practical with an emphasis on comfort and privacy, rather than any delusions of grandeur, this home offers a humble stay that provides a relaxing atmosphere to return to after action-packed trips out in Rome. Where the apartment really comes alive is in the personality of the space. Strange as it might seem, the home has something of a sense of humour and playfulness that manifests itself in the design and decorations. Mid-century furniture creates a rather European set-up as it's clear from the moment you step inside that you're on holiday in Italy. House plants, terracotta bedroom walls and quirky artwork set the scene for an authentic stay with bags of character. Since Rome's world-renowned sights are all within close reach, you'll have an idyllic base from which to explore the city with ease. Take a ten-minute stroll to Villa Borghese or hop on the easily accessible bus and tram lines to visit tourist attractions further ...More Details

    Lion's Pride

When we saw this grand home in the heart of Rome, we were in total awe. The classic Italianate interiors are utter joy, with exquisite antique furniture and oil paintings from the host's family homes in Puglia and Sardinia. Large windows with original shutters look out over pretty Via Bocca di Leone off Via Borgognona, with its luxury boutiques. Entertain in style at the large dining table under the light of the crystal chandelier. Or get some rest in the bedroom painted in a rich Pompeian red – if you’re not feeling sleepy, there’s a library here with a variety of books on art and literature to leaf through. Another bedroom has French doors onto a small balcony, filled with plants, with a view onto the internal courtyard – ideal for breakfast in bed before exploring this charismatic city. This location is fantastic – it’s just a three-minute walk to the Spanish Steps and a ten-minute saunter to the stunning Trevi Fountain, while a ran...More Details
