    Authentic Italian village house

Take a break from the heat and the bustle of the big city of Rome and experience living and remote working in an authentic Italian village, in your cozy home in Nemi. Nemi is located in the Alban Hills, a quiescent volcanic complex just outside (approx 20 km southeast) of Rome. The hills, especially around the shores of the lakes, have been popular since prehistoric times, and there are numerous villages and towns, . the Castelli Romani. Boasting wonderful views over the Roman countryside from its perch high above the lake with which it shares its name, beautiful Nemi is one of the Castelli`s must-visit destinations. The tiny historic centre is a character-filled tangle of narrow streets unfolding around imposing Palazzo Ruspoli and the adjacent piazza. Besides the spectacular panoramas, Nemi`s real draw is the local variety of strawberry: smaller than your average fragola, these little gems are bursting with flavour and can be...More Details

    Sandalwood - Bergamot

The best thing about this city-centre home in a historic Roman building? It has to be its view of the Trevi fountain, the waters of which are, at the most, twenty metres away. While this is a tourist-trodden landmark, you'll certainly have pride of place when you stay in this traditional apartment.Admirers of wonderfully kitsch decor will love this home, where ditsy patterned wallpaper and antique furniture take centre stage. You'll also find all the practical necessities in the well-outfitted kitchen and comfortable bedroom. After a long day of walking over the seven hills of Rome, this is the perfect spot to kick back and enjoy a good night's sleep. You're well placed to visit the plethora of iconic monuments and landmarks in this historic capital. The Pantheon is just an eight-minute walk away, while you can reach the must-see Colosseum in twenty minutes on foot. Tranquillity is the order of the day here. This charming cottage is tucked away in the grounds of the San Liberato Botanical Park, with views of Lago di Bracciano and the surrounding countryside. It’s a real haven, ideal for couples seeking a romantic escape. You can look forward to absolute peace and quiet, surrounded by nature. The cottage is traditional inside, with a fireplace and wooden beams – it’s very cosy. Outside, the private terrace is great for alfresco dining, whether you’re starting your day with coffee and pastries in the sunshine or you’re barbecuing a feast in the evening. If you’re anything like us, you’ll likely spend most of your day around the pool. Swim laps or float in the shallow end, drinking in the view of the lake below. This apartment in Rome’s trendy Pigneto area might be small in scale, but it has buckets of charm and is an ideal place to stay while exploring all the wonders of the Eternal City. You’ll likely fall under the spell of this loft gem the moment you step through the door: the living area is flooded with an abundance of natural light, courtesy of the floor-to-ceiling window. You can kick off your shoes and relax on the sofa, listening to your favourite tunes. We love the artwork on the walls, the record-shaped coffee table, and the lovely and unexpected pieces dotted around. Step into the bright and inviting kitchen to rustle up a quick and delicious meal, and enjoy it either at the dining table or out on the balcony, where you can also gaze at the orange rooftops of Rome before you. Get a restful night’s sleep in the comfy bed and awake refreshed and ready for another day of la dolce vita, Roman style. *Although there is also a sofa bed...More Details

    Rome Vibes

This characterful little apartment lies right in the heart of one of Rome’s oldest neighbourhoods. Its location is second to none – with plenty of lively bars and restaurants on your doorstep and the Pantheon just around the corner, you’re right in the middle of all the action. Though some parts of the apartment, such as the entrance and bathroom, may feel a little rough around the edges, we think it adds to the charm. It’s a great home away from home to explore everything this magnificent city has to offer. *Parking in Rome can be tricky, so we recommend sticking to the easily accessible public transport where possible – though we think the best way to see the city is on foot.*The bathroom in this home is very small. That said, it has everything you need to get ready for the day. *You might encounter an issue with one of the showers here. It has been known to spray water onto the bathroom floor.*If you're travelling by plane, Rome Cia...More Details

Set within the medieval estate of Castello del Duca, there’s a poetic ambience to this apartment that feels enchanting. It’s the kind of home that inspires you to stop and simply admire the details that make it special. With views across the valley of Tiber and over to the Reatini Mountains, the fresh countryside air fills this space with an uplifting presence. And the spirit of joy continues inside the apartment. From the eclectic styling to the art and objects, every detail of this home inspires a wonderful sense of joy and curiosity. Naive Neon

Between Regola and the medieval alleys of the old Jewish Quarter, this gorgeous apartment is set within a 14th-century building tucked out of the way in the heart of historic Rome. The interior is perfectly pieced together and designed with your needs in mind. We were big fans of the interior design, particularly the accent wallpaper that makes the green theme pop.A well-equipped kitchen elevates your self-catering options – though with all that fantastic food on your doorstep, who's cooking? Finally, a gorgeous blue bedroom lends a sophisticated air to the apartment and an air of calmness and serenity to help you slip off speedily.Down at street level, you'll find several cafes and restaurants just around the corner, while trendy Trastevere is just a five-minute stroll across the Ponte Garibaldi. Elsewhere, the historic shopping street, Via Giulia, is 500m from your front door, while the likes of Piazza Navona, the Pantheon and the Rom...More Details

    Two Wheels

This apartment may be in the heart of Rome, but there’s something distinctly country-chic about the decor. Period pieces – dressers, doors and the kitchen table – are all rough white-washed and feel rustic. The sound system is vintage, and the armchairs in the living room are upholstered in gloriously kitsch floral patterns. The jewel in the crown of the apartment is the sprawling outdoor terrace, which has sofas in sunny spots for a dose of vitamin D, and shaded nooks under parasols for when the heat gets too much. The bamboo pergola covered a couple of outdoor gas hobs, so you can cook and dine alfresco. Flowers and pot plants bloom for every corner and climb trellises for a bit of privacy. If you want to know just how central you are, just head out to the downstairs balcony and spot the Colosseum at the end of your street. *There's no lift and the flat is on the third floor of the building*We found a few scuff marks on the walls, pa...More Details

    Roma Roma Mia

Enjoy a negroni sbagliato cocktail on this home’s sunny terrace, with its views of the rooftops of the Eternal City, located a few metres from Piazza Navona and Castel Sant'Angelo. Housed in a historic 1600s building, this apartment has charming, whitewashed beams, herringbone wood floors and plenty of natural light. We adore the egg-shaped bath in the ensuite, perfect for a long, luxurious soak after exploring all that Rome has to offer. There’s so much to see within a short walk. Castel Sant'Angelo, St. Angelo Bridge and Piazza Navona are all five minutes on foot, while the Pantheon is ten minutes. If you fancy a spot of shopping, Corso Vittorio Emanuele II is an eight-minute saunter. A little further on, St. Peter's Basilica and the Trevi Fountain are both around fifteen minutes. The Vatican Museums and the Roman Forum, on the other hand, are a twenty-five-minute stroll (or a ten-minute ride). *A breakfast hamper is provided here*Chi...More Details

This beautiful home is the epitome of everything Roman. Stylish and sophisticated, it's been designed to represent what this city is all about. A mix of period features and a sleek, modern finish (particularly in the kitchen and bathrooms) have made for an upscale stay that’s brought to life with personal touches. The living space is comfortable and inviting, with an artificial fireplace that illuminates the space and a huge TV inset into the wall, a tall window and a wall painting at the dining end – making for the perfect spot to enjoy a few glasses of red together. Bedrooms are smart and bright, and the murals add character and recall the city’s many frescoes. Vatican City, Castel Sant’Angelo and Piazza del Popolo are all just a fifteen-minute walk away, while the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain and Campo di Fiori are just twenty-five minutes on foot. St Peter's Terrace

Housed in a prestigious building, set just footsteps from the Vatican City, this central apartment offers a relaxing stay in the heart of Rome's ancient history. Surrounded by excellent restaurants, friendly café-bars, bookshops and bakeries, this desirable location means you can do most of your sightseeing on foot. Whether you're walking over to the Vatican museums, St Peter's Basilica, or the Colosseum, it's all well within reach. Back home, we particularly like the funky wallpaper print in the bedroom, while the contemporary furnishings make for seamless modern living. But the real standout here is, of course, your private terrace, complete with sun loungers, a swing and dome views of St. Peter's. All that's left to do is unpack your bags and spill out onto the terrace for an early-evening aperitivo, before hitting the lively streets below. *At capacity, two people will be sleeping on a sofa bed in the living room *This apartment is...More Details

    Gladiator Reef

Gladiator Reef is not one that will appeal to people who are after neutral tones and understated design. There’s a mix of bright colours all over the place, and this gives the space a bit of individuality. The host, Mary, also pushes the boat out when it comes to service - there’s a daily cleaning service, as well as free laundry, great breakfast options, and recommendations of all the places tourists don’t know about. If that wasn’t enough, it’s also only a few hundred metres from the Colosseum. *When we visited, there was no lift and the apartment is on the fifth floor. Teal on the Tiber

Halfway between Trastevere and Campo de’ Fiori, and footsteps from the banks of the River Tiber, this apartment is enviably located. Inside, the place has been tastefully finished with relaxation in mind. Furnishings in rich brown are complemented by pops of teal and subtle gold accents. There’s a comfy L-shaped sofa that calls for reclining with a good book and a dining nook should you fancy taking your meals at home. Take a walk through Rome’s historic streets. You’ll reach the Spada Gallery and the old-school trattorias of Via del Pellegrino in five minutes by foot, the Moor Fountain in ten and the Pantheon in fifteen. To reach the Roman Forum and the Colosseum, catch a taxi and arrive in just over ten minutes or opt to wander through the city and reach them in a leisurely thirty. *The wi-fi can be a bit weak at times *The apartment is on the second floor and there is no lift *Guests 3 and 4 will be on a sofa-bed in the living room ...More Details

Edoardo looks after a few places in the same building, so in a sense, it’s not a dissimilar experience to a hotel, albeit with the autonomy afforded by an apartment. Eternal Trastevere

Ideally situated in Trastevere, this fuss-free base is an excellent starting point for sightseeing. Many of the city's must-see landmarks, including Camp de' Fiori and the Pantheon, are within walking distance. Even better, you've got a bevvy of art galleries, boutiques and trattorias nearby – after all, there's a reason this neighbourhood is considered the most charming in Rome. While the interiors here are rather dated, the brick ceilings and arched doorways add some character. The bedroom includes a desk for remote work, while the living room has a sofa bed for two guests. It's not the biggest, but it'll do the trick for an Eternal City getaway. *At full capacity, two guests will sleep on a sofa bed in the living area. *The bathroom has double access from both the bedroom and the living area. *The traditional decor here might not be to everyone's taste. Once belonging to a Duke, you can almost feel the history and drama played out within its majestic walls. The portico arches remain to elegantly space out the open-plan apartment, while everything else has been reimagined to deliver all the creature comforts, including a smart kitchen space to rustle up a light bite to eat.Pad out across the cool, terracotta tiles onto the suntrap shared courtyard for alfresco breakfasts. It Will Be So

Brilliantly situated in Monti, one of Rome's most ancient neighbourhoods, this top-floor apartment is truly something special. There's no question that the private terrace is the crown jewel of the place. With a charming bistro table and an abundance of sunshine, it's the perfect spot to start the morning with an espresso and a pastry – and of course, end the evening with a bottle of Italian wine as the world passes by below you. Elsewhere, you'll find two quaint Juliet balconies – not ideal for sitting, but the view of the bustling street below is as Roman as it gets. The rest of the apartment is filled with light, packed with character and super stylish. Curl up on the cream-coloured sofa and watch a flick on Netflix, rustle up homecooked pasta in the kitchen and work from home at the desk in the second bedroom. Bowler is very comfortable, and has clearly been designed to tailor to large groups, whether that be friends on holiday, or people on a business trip. Each room has a TV, which makes up somewhat for the lack of any real living room. That’s the big factor with the flat – the lack of communal areas beyond the kitchen. If you’re okay with it (or would even prefer it), then there’s little else to say, as everything is kept very and it’s hard to see how the place could be improved much. *Depending on the time, the check-in might take place in two stages – the first remote, and an in-person welcome the next morning*There's no lift in the building – you'll have to climb the stairs to the second floor*Nothing in the way of basic ingredients is provided*There isn't a living room – just a kitchen with a dining table*Even though there's a sofa bed in one of the bedrooms, eight people at once in the flat would feel like a lot*There's no washing ma...More Details

    Fingertips

Fingertips is in a great position, close to both the Jewish Quarter and Campo de’ Fiori, the home of Rome’s most famous market. The layout of the flat makes it quite a flexible proposition – if the living room needs to be used as a bedroom, it can be closed off from the other communal areas, and you wouldn’t know it wasn’t permanent (except for the sofa bed). Prati Postcard

In upscale Prati, this apartment makes an excellent base for a Roman holiday. We love this location – the area's many wine bars and gourmet eateries are a stone's throw away, as is the Vatican when you're in the mood to sightsee. Juliet balconies overlook the pretty streets back home, pairing nicely with the sleek and minimalist interiors. The sofa bed can accommodate two guests, making it ideal for short stays. You'll also have access to a private terrace – it may not have any views, but it's still a pleasant spot to unwind in the evenings. *At full occupancy, two guests will sleep on the sofa bed in the living area. The mattress is a little thing, so we think it's best for children and short stays.*The terrace is slightly overlooked by neighbouring buildings.*Though parking isn't provided, a car isn't needed in Rome. A metro station is just a short stroll away, and much of the city is within walking distance.*This home doesn't accept...More Details

    I Am Spartacus

Those visiting Rome for the ancient marvels and historic sights won't find a location much better than this. It’s 100 metres from the Colosseum and the ruin-filled park of Colle Opio is your next-door neighbour. Wandering the surrounding streets it seems like every corner is home to an ancient church between family-run trattoria and gelaterias. The apartment is housed in a beautiful 18th-century building, and stepping inside you feel the opulence of an old-world parlour. Velvet seats at the bistro table, a velvet sofa piled high with cushions and suspended candelabra create the opulence, while the exposed stone and timber beams keep one foot firmly in the building’s history. Chess can provide the evening’s entertainment, which feels fitting amidst the gilded mirrors and oil paintings. Heading up the striking mesh-metal staircase, the master bedroom has a pretty arched window with a window seat providing the perfect spot for a bit of hol...More Details

    Dusk Light

This home has a brilliant location – it overlooks the beautiful 17th century Palazzo Barberini and its gardens. You’ll be adjacent to official government buildings and the Quirinale, while sightseeing is easily within your reach – the Trevi Fountain is an eight-minute walk away and the Spanish Steps are just twelve minutes away on foot. Inside the home, you’ll find a space that’s been impeccably styled with an eye to true luxury. Bathrooms are filled with travertine marble, bedrooms have dazzling views over the gardens and the beautiful high-ceilinged living room is the perfect spot to unwind. While the home may not have a kitchen, breakfast is provided and you can fix yourself an espresso to enjoy by the window overlooking historic buildings and greenery. There’s a small desk for getting work done, but when it’s time to relax the bedrooms are especially inviting, with luxe sheets and plush pillows to usher you into a deep slumber. *Ev...More Details

    The Silver Dove

Situated on the famous street Via Merulana in the San Giovanni district, this is an excellently located home in a lively bourgeois area with good transport links to the rest of the city. The rooms are large and bright, all recently renovated with minimal modern design. The style of the home is more industrial than cosy thanks to the steel kitchen, prevalence of clean lines and minimal contemporary lighting, but that doesn’t compromise the comfort of the home. We did notice that the WiFi was notably slow, however, which might pose a problem for some guests. * The lift up to the apartment is old and a bit cramped* As it's on a busy street, there is a certain level of outside noise in the home* The Wifi is weak Air ConditioningBaby BathBalconyBathtubCentral HeatingChild FriendlyCoffee MakerCooking EssentialsCot / CribDishwasherExtra Pillows and BlanketsFridgeHair DryerHigh ChairIronIroning BoardKitchenKitchen UtensilsLaptop Friendly Work...More Details

    Antique Rainbow

When you’re staying in the centre of Rome, it’s pretty much impossible to wander without having to stop in awe to look at historic landmarks or beautiful architecture. And this is especially true of Spagna. As this apartment is only a six-minute walk from the Spanish Steps, eight from the Trevi Fountain, and the same distance to the Pantheon, you'll be left feeling overwhelmed in the most wonderful way.Just off the bustling Via del Corso, this home is set in a typically Roman building. Past the main entrance, an elegant courtyard welcomes you inside – as does your dedicated concierge. They’ll be on hand to help you arrange city tours, as well as airport transfers and most importantly, restaurant recommendations. But before heading off for fine dining, take a look inside the apartment.Stepping into the living space feels like entering a gallery. The owner’s antique furniture, art, and trinkets pepper the room, bringing an old-world elega...More Details
