    Assynt House
An interesting fact about this Grade-II listed Georgian mansion is that it played host to President Franklin D.Roosevelt and his wife Eleanor on their honeymoon tour of Scotland. Over a century on, the home is still a true one-of-a-kind that will make any special occasion totally unforgettable. Surrounded by six acres of woodland and gardens — it's not uncommon to see a couple of deer in the morning mist and sheep grazing on the hillside — guests will get a taste of the air of seclusion the moment they drive up to the front door. Inside, it's a mix of handsome wood panelling, roaring fireplaces and lots of comfy furnishings — whatever the weather outside, we can ensure you that you'll never be anything other than cosy here. There's a complimentary daily housekeeping service, along with lots of extra options, including full catering, a welcome greeting with the sound of bagpipes, and a local guide who will show you the best this area has...More Details

    Sweet Green Grass
If you’re looking for a show-stopper home for your next get-together, this manor house in the heart of Dumfries and Galloway could be the one. With a games room, library, and formal dining room, there’s plenty of space to socialise. And when you want to relax, head to the private sauna or book a massage in the treatment room. As well as a guest kitchen, there’s a commercial kitchen here – a private chef can be arranged if you fancy a night off dinner duty, or even want your entire stay catered. Outside, the grounds are just as impressive with four acres of formal gardens, a secret courtyard, and an alfresco dining terrace to enjoy. *While not all of the bedrooms and bathrooms are photographed, expect the style and quality to be consistent with the rest of the home.*The ground-floor bedroom is fully accessible for wheelchair users, including an en-suite wet room.*The superking beds can be configured as twins if required – you’ll need to...More Details

    Doorway To Elphame
In 1450, the first tower of this historic Scottish house was constructed by monks. It still forms a part of the house to this day. Embedded scallop shells and long-buried charms tie the history of this place with the fae folk. Each bedroom retains the feeling of a medieval castle with its stone fireplaces and hand-carved four-posters beds, but some have been updated to the turn of the 20th century with William Morris wallpaper. Walking through the social spaces is like a private tour of a preserved castle. The vaulted old kitchen feels as though a 15th century monk could walk in at any second, but there’s a 21st-century modern kitchen on the first floor for those that prefer a gas stove to a cauldron on an open fire. Further along the vaults you’ll find a games room and an antique toilet in the WC. A series of drawing rooms and sitting rooms each have their own distinct character from the bookcase-lined library to the pine-panelled loun...More Details

    The Laird's Garden
Featuring on “most stylish stays in the UK” lists, this 1960s home sits within acres of walled gardens, landscaped in the 18th century and built by Napoleonic prisoners of war. Mid-century on the outside, the interior is an ode to decadent manor homes with a vast library of books, oil paintings of the Dalrymple family and collections of private artefacts that should be in a museum. You won’t find any “don’t touch” signs though – guests are encouraged to pick fruit and veg from the kitchen garden, rack up a game of snooker in the games room and make use of the grand fireplaces with wood from the neighbouring forest provided. The coastal golf town of North Berwick is a ten-minute drive away and you can practice your pitching on the golf pitching range in the garden. *Most of this home is on ground level with wide doors so may be suitable for those with limited mobility*In a remote location, having a car is recommended and there is plenty...More Details

    The Baron on the Hill
Covering an impressive 1800 acres of moorland just for hiking, the sheer scale of the estate is enough to make it feel majestic without the towering rise of the baronial-style home itself. When both come into view together on the winding drive up to the house, it’s breathtaking. And stepping into the home is a similar experience – take in the mix of chandeliers, fireplaces, and four poster beds. It’s stately, but with plenty of opportunity for relaxation. Whether that’s sinking into the sofa after stoking the fireplace, or wrapping up and walking the moors on a crisp morning. Perhaps it’s luxuriating in a bubble bath with a glass of prosecco, or cooking up a storm in the well-equipped kitchen. Regardless, this home is willing to give whatever you need to take away from your holiday. Wander down to Dunnet Bay and the village, but whatever you do, don’t forget to stop off at the world-famous Rock Rose gin distillery. For a pub lunch, you’...More Details

    The Enlightened
When your neighbour is Edinburgh Castle, you can be pretty certain that your home is in a prime spot in the city. Living right in the heart of the Old Town certainly has its perks, with Princes Street Gardens and the Grassmarket both less than ten minutes from your front door. But with such busy days on the horizon, you’ll also need somewhere to recline and relax. This grand apartment is set on one of Edinburgh’s most esteemed addresses. Even the street name is soaked in culture and history – named after the Enlightenment poet, Allan Ramsay the Elder who built the first structure here in 1733. And as soon as you step inside, you can see how culture and creativity have transcended the centuries. We love the opulent and elegant interiors, where a cream colour palette meets plush fabrics and faux furs. Of course there are still traditional features like four-poster beds, an iron fireplace, and sash windows with striking city skyline views, b...More Details

    Old Milton
Once the country playground of lairds and ladies, this former hunting lodge sits in the untamed wilderness of the Cairngorms. Acres and acres of grounds are home to a fishing loch with its own jetty, a professionally maintained 9-hole golf course and tennis courts. After a day of action and adventure in the great outdoors, there’s nothing better than soaking in the bubbling hot tub on the patio. Unwind with a single malt by the fire in the sitting room, or opt for an evening in the formal lounge fit for a duke, with its grand piano and wood-panelled walls. With stained-glass windows and a vaulted, beamed ceiling, the dining room reminds us of a church – a beautiful spot to gather the group for a decadent meal. The kitchen’s four-door Aga means country-style feasts are on the menu. There’s more to this home than pure opulence and Victorian splendour. It’s the small details that tie the design to the landscape, like hand-made staircases a...More Details

    Georgian Oak
Situated in Edinburgh's charming New Town, just a hop, skip and a jump away from Princes Street, this Georgian apartment is absolutely breathtaking. If you're anything like us, you'll be swooning over the sky-high ceilings, enormous sash windows and oodles of period features. When married with the bright living spaces and contemporary touches like the BOSE Bluetooth mini sound system, Miele appliances and underfloor heating, this whole place is a showstopper. Just picture yourself sprawled out on the velvet sofa in front of the crackling fire, a glass of scotch in hand. Come dinnertime, pad over to the chef's-worthy kitchen and rustle up a delicious, hearty spread to share around the large oak table – alongside a bottle of Scotland's finest whiskey, of course. After supper, unwind with an engrossing book from the host's small library, play a game of backgammon around the coffee table or enjoy a soak in the lavish bathtub before snuggli...More Details

    Rapunzel's Rest
A magical tower, rising some 48ft above the Dumfries and Galloway countryside, this unique home is just as incredible inside as it looks. Its 9ft thick stone walls have stood the test of time since 1450 – although you may notice a few musket ball holes in the exterior. Packed with history and centuries of stories – many of which the estate manager will tell you on arrival – this home is an absolute gem by the banks of the River Annan. Exploring the castle for the first time is a wonderful experience, with a wealth of turrets, nooks and staircases to discover. The showstopper here is the Great Hall, with a high, arching ceiling and a Renaissance fireplace so huge you walk inside it. Like the rest of the castle, it's dressed with antique furniture and eclectic art collected over many years by the owners. Two long sofas make for a fabulous space to relax with family and friends and, in the evening, you can light the fire and play music fro...More Details

    Lapwings - Deer
What could be better than spotting red squirrels, lapwings, house martins and geese in your private garden? Well, spotting them from the bubbling warmth of a hot tub for one. This 18th century home sits in glorious Perthshire countryside in the hamlet of Monzie. It’s a seven-minute drive to the nearest shops, pubs and coffee shops in idyllic Crieff. The surrounding countryside is home to winding walks (some from your doorstep) where you can spot deer and red kites, cycling trails, fishing and golfing. Though you may just want to stay in your secluded country paradise, playing croquet on the lawn, soaking in the hot tub or enjoying a barbecue in the sun. Inside, you’ll find several spots for the group to spread out – curled up with a book in the sunny conservatory, perched by the crackling fire in the main lounge, playing table football in the games room or perhaps even tinkling a tune on the upright piano in the dining room. The kitchen...More Details

    Bertie's Guide to Life
Located on an iconic street serialised in Alexander McCall Smith’s beloved Scotland Street books, this beautiful Georgian apartment combines nineteenth-century elegance with luxury modern comforts. Tall corniced ceilings, wood floors and an abundance of light coming in through the sash windows create an instantly welcoming feel with chic, contemporary furnishings inviting you to make yourself at home. We love the living room’s large suede sofas that beckon relaxing evenings over a glass of wine by the period working fireplace, and the large kitchen bathed in natural light that’s ready to cater celebratory feasts aplenty. The three bedrooms, meanwhile, have each been carefully curated with a sophisticated touch and boast similarly large windows that give way to New Town views. We’re particularly fond of the main bedroom’s en-suite – a spa-like space with its rainfall shower and tempting tub, the latter providing the perfect end to a nigh...More Details

    Cliffside Haven
This beachfront tower overlooks Balcary Bay with panoramic sea views. Set amid acres of private woodland, you'll find outdoor seating spots and a natural seawater pool here. While the interior is modern with large windows, accents such as the bureau echoes this home's 19th-century history. We especially love the main bathroom for sunset soaks in the tub. But even better, stargazers will have access to the roof via a hydraulic hatch. Fancy an adventure? A car is necessary to explore Dumfries and Galloway. *This home has direct access to Balcary Bay Beach.*There's a private seawater pool here and an unfenced pond in the garden. Member of the Clergy
If you want to try and spot the ever-elusive Loch Ness Monster, this old stone clergy house that has sat on the banks of the famed body of water for over a century-and-a-half lets you do so in the utmost comfort. Inside, the rooms are filled with varnished wood furnishings, boldly printed rugs and roaring fireplaces — so you can look out the windows at the loch without feeling cold in the slightest. Other noble flourishes come in the shape of the four-poster beds and the two deep claw-footed bathtubs. There's even a small garden out the back, but you're hardly short of beautiful outdoor attractions around these parts. Urquhart Castle is a fifteen-minute drive away, while Dores Beach can be reached in twenty minutes in case you're in the mood for a bracing wild swim. Although the address feels both rural and secluded, the town centre of Inverness only takes seventeen minutes to reach in the car, too. *It's possible to hire a private che...More Details

Cosy and charming, this first-floor apartment boasts views of Edinburgh Castle. Alongside the historic panoramas, we love the sense of space here – three sumptuous bedrooms, a large kitchen, and a comfortable lounge provide ample room for family gatherings. There's even a small workspace if you're travelling on business. And, of course, the location is brilliant. You'll be a five-minute walk from buzzing Princes Street, while the Royal Mile and other Old Town attractions are just a bit further. Plan on driving? While no allocated parking is provided, a public car park is just across the street. *Two of the super king-sized beds can be arranged as singles on request. *If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a free travel cot and high chair on request. *This apartment is on the first floor and is reachable by stairs only. Single Malt
Not far from Edinburgh Castle, this apartment is in a great spot, close enough to the tourist sights but away from the crush of the Royal Mile. Despite this enviable location, it’s a surprisingly big place, and everything feels very high end. The interiors are relaxed without being too casual — traditional touches, such as the tan leather sofas and the original marble fireplace, mix well with more contemporary flourishes like the glass dining table and the plethora of artwork on display. We’d also be remiss not to mention the wonderful view of the castle, which can be reached in ten minutes on foot. Even closer is the greenery of Princes Street Garden, while there are shops and restaurants galore on nearby George Street. *This home is connected to another home, The Scottish Calf, both properties cannot be booked together*This home is on the second floor in a building with no lift, so it might not be suitable for guests with reduced mob...More Details

In a lovely part of Stockbridge with plenty of shops and cafes just a short walk away, this townhouse feels like an excellent family home. The living room benefits from a big bay window and high ceilings, but is made to feel innately snug thanks to tartan chairs and faux-fur throws. The kitchen is remarkable in an entirely different way, with loads of space and a pretty professional set-up meaning it will appeal to any budding chef. Elsewhere, we like the stained glass windows in the bathroom inspired perhaps inspired by Charles Rennie Mackintosh — let's not go into his Glaswegian connection here — as well as the pleasantly landscaped garden with seating should the sunshine break through the clouds during your stay. If it doesn't, that's no bother because there's plenty to do nearby — the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art is just over a quarter of an hour walk away, while the equally close by streets of Dean Village are a treat to...More Details

    Wood Smoke Whispers
This Norwegian log house is surrounded by the picturesque mountains around Fort William. It’s a short drive into the centre for shops, restaurants and cosy local pubs, but the main highlight of the area is the myriad of hiking and biking trails through the mountainous Highlands, including the iconic Ben Nevis. The main living room is a vision of cabin cosiness, with a working wood stove at the centre. There are books and board games galore for quiet nights spent at home and a sprawling private garden should the sun come out. With several living rooms, you won't be short on space – our favourite is the first-floor lounge with breathtaking views of the rugged scenery. *One of the bedrooms has a double bed and a single, so we think it would best suit parents with a young child or three children sharing.*Four bedrooms and two bathrooms are located on the ground floor.*Your host can provide a cot, high chair and stair gates on request.*Your...More Details

    Skies Above
Towards the east end of Edinburgh’s city centre, the architecture style starts to move away from the gothic spires of the Old Town. This home certainly isn’t far from historic landmarks, about half a mile from iconic views on Calton Hill as well as theatrical scenes at the Edinburgh Playhouse, but its character is distinctly more modern.Set in a quiet lane that's surprisingly close to the bustling restaurants and bars of London Road and Elm Row, this three-storey townhouse appears more like a cottage from the outside. Honey-coloured stonework and a cobbled street out front make this quaint, mews-like street feel more traditional than what you’ll find inside. Its layout is really quite special. At the heart of the home on the first floor, which you’ll ascend via wooden spiral staircase, we love the Scandinavian minimalist look. Huge skylights and high ceilings stretch all the way up to the mezzanine bedroom, with sloped walls and glass-p...More Details

Located on a typically quaint street in Edinburgh's New Town, this apartment is in a great location, only a short walk away from the sights of Old Town, the Scottish National Portrait Gallery and a huge range of cafes and shops to explore in the local area. The interior of this home feels homely and relaxed, sporting an earthy colour palette and high-quality soft furnishings. The mix of Georgian features and rustic vibes — tartan throws will never not be cosy in our eyes — work well with the natural light that pours in from the large windows and creates a great sense of space. The cherry on the cake is the spacious and dazzlingly white bathrooms, complete with a free-standing bathtub that's just the ticket for a long, restorative soak. *There's no elevator to reach this home on the second floor – those with limited mobility or heavy suitcases take note*The third bedroom has two single beds and would be best suited to children*You won't...More Details

    Down In The Glen
If you're looking for a holiday home with a difference then this house, in the tranquil surroundings of Glen Dye, is the perfect pick. With a range of thoughtful amenities and an excellent location right on the doorstep of the highlands, you'll settle in within no time at all. There's a distinctly quirky feel to the house, which combines rustic furnishings with more modern touches – think wood paneling meets bold framed posters. For chilly evenings, there's a stove that will keep you toasty as you sip a wee dram, and your hosts will even provide the firewood. At the back of the home you'll find a games room, along with a Swedish hot tub for long, luxurious soaks under the stars. And, there's even a vegetable patch, a sauna, and a BYOB pub on-site for you to use, and perhaps make friends with your neighbours too. From here, you can drive to the Cairngorms National Park in just twenty minutes, to experience the very best that Scotland has...More Details

Modern furnishings offset the gothic architecture and stonework at this bright apartment. Large cathedral-style windows and an open-plan living and dining area make the most of the natural light. At the same time, accents of tartan, wall-mounted antlers and a green velvet sofa make the home feel like a charming Scottish hunting lodge. Guests will have access to all the on-site facilities, including tennis courts, a heated swimming pool, and a spa. Not to mention the shared lounge, where stained glass windows cast filtered light onto red walls and purple velvet furnishings to provide a stunning backdrop to a game of billiards. Hugging the shores of Loch Ness and set on twenty acres of private gardens, you’re ideally located to explore the stunning landscapes of the Highlands. *The host can add a single roll-out child's bed in the bedroom (for an additional fee)* Access to a car is suggested to allow you to explore the beauty of the Scot...More Details

    The Gilderoy
This is a genuinely special home, with an abundance of character and sophistication, with everything finished to a high quality. The location was equally impressive, found on a quiet cobbled street just off a main busy road, within walking distance of the city centre. While the striking master bedroom came close, the living room was our favourite room in the home. It feels almost like an old school drawing room, but with an added comfort factor. There's also great attention to detail, such as the drawer of hot water bottles in the kitchen for those rainy Scottish evenings. * There's no lift in the building so you will need to climb some stairs to reach the home on the first floor * The master bedroom has an en-suite, but the other three guests will share a bathroom* The fireplaces are just decorative*The tram stop taking you to the airport is a short four minute walk from the flat BathtubBuzzer / Wireless IntercomCarbon Monoxide Detec...More Details

    The Leamington Lift
With its craggy peaks and rolling hills, you might not immediately think of Edinburgh as a canal city. But this fabulous houseboat at Lochrin Basin will defy your expectations, just fifteen minutes on foot from Edinburgh Castle. Its bright green painted exterior stands out on the water, and the interior has gorgeous, rich wood throughout. Two bright terraces on the roof deck are where you’ll sip champagne on arrival. Spacious, stylish, and unique, the VIP experience on board feels more like a yacht than a canal barge. Make use of the foot spa and electric massage chair after settling down in your fluffy bathrobe. And your host even offers luxury welcome packages full of fine Scottish fare, as well as a private chef. If you fancy heading out for cafés, dinners, and drinking, walk up to Bruntsfield in just ten minutes, or head over to Tollcross in six. Both areas are absolutely teeming with brunch spots and tasty restaurants, as well as p...More Details

    The Secret Eden
Staying on the Glen Dye estate is an immersive experience – the kind that awakens the senses and lifts the spirit. And perched on the banks of the River Dye, this beautiful Georgian house opens its doors and welcomes you into the heart of nature. Originally belonging to the caretakers who tended Glen Dye Lodge, this semi–detached home is steeped in tradition but with exceptional styling and luxurious details that add warmth. And like the magical woodland that surrounds this space, the vibe is calm and relaxing. No doubt you’ll be inspired to savour the little details that make this home truly unique. Like waking up to views across the trees and reading by the fire.
