Having received the status of Basilica in 1984 the cathedral is a favorite destination for all visitors to Fort Kochi. The promenade is a nearby attraction that provides leisure with the Chinese fishing nets adorning the walkway to the beach, the sunset can be enjoyed here and one can catch a view of the fishing boats and ships that pass through the channel.
