Formerly a stonemason's workshop, who worked on local churches, schools and Ampleforth Abbey, this home has now been fully renovated for a comfortable stay. There's a wood burner in the double-height living room for cosy evenings in and a small courtyard for taking in the Yorkshire air. Opposite the cottage, you’ll find a café – there’s also a grocery shop within a five-minute walk and a couple of pubs. The market town of Helmsley, with its castle, gardens and a wide range of shops, pubs and restaurants, is just a five-minute drive too.
*A complimentary hamper is provided containing tea, coffee, sugar, milk, and a few goodies.
*The galley kitchen is quite compact.
*Although this home is all on one level, there are two internal steps.
*Children over 10 years old are welcome. There is a sofa bed in the sitting room which is suitable for a child (over 10 years) – contact your host.
*The bed can be made up as two twin beds on request. This home is short on wardrobe space, so we'd recommend packing light.
*There's a telephone with an honesty box here.
*There is free parking.
*Your host has a property next door, and you may be able to book them together to accommodate larger groups – please ask for more information.
