Tranquil Riverside Cottage

Set just above the Class 2 fishing river, La Benaize, the cottage is rural but not remote. The decking, accessed from the living area, overlooks the river. It is extremely peaceful to sit here, listening to the sound of the weir and the birds. Inside, the cottage is compact, but very comfortable; it has a truly homely atmosphere. The kitchen and living room are open plan. The bedroom has an adjacent dressing room and the shower room is reached directly from the bedroom, thereby essentially being an en-suite facility. The living room directly opens onto the raised decking where there is a swing bench, a sun lounger, and an outdoor table and chairs for two. A small flight of steps leads into the garden (approximately 350 square metres). The garden can also be accessed from the front of the property. There are many local chemins, absolutely ideal for walking or cycling. The nearest town is only 15 minutes away by car and has a butcher, baker, supermarket, pharmacy, doctor, dentist, vet and school. The nearest hypermarket is a 30 minute drive. The A20 gives easy access to all routes and to Limoges airport. There are numerous medieval towns: St Benoit du Sault, Chauvigny and Montmorillon to name a few. There are many local markets and vides greniers, plus the unmissable, 500 year old foire at Les Herolles, held on the 29th of each month.
There is off-road parking, and pets are allowed by prior agreement. A cot is available. Please, no smoking indoors.
