Welcome to Ville du Soleil,
You have just discovered a little gem in the Southeast corner of Crete.
The stone cottages, built on the land of our grandparents are traditionally decorated and can offer the comfort and tranquility to the ones seeking relaxing vacations. On the hill of Laggada with the panoramic view of the surrounding mountains and the Mediterranean Sea, six unique cottages, blended harmoniouusly with the surrounding landscape, will give you the opportunity to experience true relaxation and authentic hospitality.
Since 2009, the Dritsas family are proudly welcoming all their guests that are seeking for an enchanting atmosphere among wild herbs, olive trees and the turquoise waters of the pristine beaches.
We invite you to discover the hidden treasures of the area, the beaches, the walking paths and the tastes of the homemade cusine and as a family will do our very best to provide a memorable experience.
Our properties: we offer four villas and two bungalows. Each has panoramic views of the Mediterranean Sea and the nearby mountains and can accommodate up to 5 people. Built by hand, all properties incorporate the use of local stone which complements the surrounding landscape. The stone walls, wooden furniture and timber ceilings of Ville du Soleil sensitively reflect the rustic style of the area.
This traditional design provides interiors which can be cooler in the summer months and warmer during winter, thus combining the comforts of a holiday residence with the simplicity of Cretan hospitality.
The crystal blue waters of the Mediterranean and long sandy beach of Laggada are only a 500 meter walk from Ville du Soleil. Approximately 2 km further is Makrigialos with its pretty harbour, superb beaches, shops and choice of beach-front bars and tavernas.
The villas: on the ground floor is a living room with fully equipped kitchen/dining area, a bedroom with two single beds, and a WC with open shower. On the upper floor is a double bedroom, a shower and WC, a small storage room and a generous balcony with a hammock and magnificent views of the sea, the mountains and our own olive groves.
The bungalows have a living room with kitchen/dining area, a bathroom with shower, hand-basin and WC, two bedrooms, one with a double bed, the other with 2 singles. Accommodation for a 5th person is via the comfortable sofa/daybed. The small private terraces offer outdoor relaxation with beautiful views of the sea and mountains.

How to find us:
From Heraklion Airport (HER) follow the road to Agios Nikolaos. After the town of Agios Nikolaos, turn right towards the southern coastal town of Ierapetra. At Ierapetra, turn left along the coast road. After approximately 30 minutes, and after the signs of Makrygialos, turn to the sign of Goudouras. After 50 metres turn left to the sign of Goudouras, and after around two kilometres you will see “Ville du Soleil” on the left side of the Hill of Schinias.
From Sitia Airport (JSH) follow signs for Makrygialos and Ierapetra but remain on the road. After 27 km, turn left at the sign for Moni Kapsa and Goudouras. After two km, the entrance to Ville du Soleil is located on the left.
Communication : We are native Greek and French speakers with a fluent level of English and some German.

About the Area: South-east Crete is recognised as one of the last unspoiled parts of the island. The village of Makrigialos (officially spelled Makry-Gialos) has been described as ‘a little-known gem’, undiscovered by mass tourism and ideally located for exploration of the natural, historical and cultural treasures of the area such as the Lassithi plateau, Spinalonga Island, Toplou/Kapsas monasteries, the palm forest of Vai and traditional mountain villages.

My name is Kostas Dritsas and with my wife, Manuela, we are the owners
of "Ville du Soleil".
We would like to thank you first of all for your interest to visit the
South East part of Crete, and specially our family's establishment.
This part of the island is a place of exceptional beauty that is
dedicated to provide relaxing and inspirational vacation to the
visitors.
The establishment -as you could see in the site - is located on a hill with a panoramic view of
the sea, the surrounding mountains, the olive trees, and the beach
which is around 500 meters away (8'-10' walking).
The maisonette is categorized as “self-catered vacation house”,
however we are offering cotton linen and towels, as well as cleaning
services once per week, and the closing cleaning. Both bedrooms and
the living room with the kitchen are equipped with air-conditions.
To our guests we offer a welcome pack of homemade sweets and raki (the
traditional Cretan drink) as well as homemade marmalades. We also
offer cooking ingredients such as our own extra virgin olive oil,
vinegar, salt and pepper, oregano and local herbs.
My wife, Manuela and I, are always trying to provide the most
convenient conditions for everybody's holidays, and an inside look of
our area around. We show our visitors the best places to visit,
beaches to relax, places to eat, the local festivals to attend, as
well as the local gorges to walk.
