The town of Soplillar is located in the Ciénaga de Zapata Biosphere Reserve, which is one of the most important regions of the country since it is the largest and best conserved wetland of the insular Caribbean. It presents a rich biodiversity and a high endemism in its flora and fauna that testify the world importance of this region in which Soplillar is part, attractive and charming terroir and with great historical importance, since in the first one was celebrated Christmas Eve of the triumph of the Revolution where Fidel dined with the charcoal burners.
