Looking to explore the English coast? This Victorian home in Salcombe is a great starting point. Minutes away from North Sands beach and only a quick walk from the quays and high street, the house has stunning views over the harbour and the verdant countryside beyond. The tiered garden is perfect for sun-worshippers and alfresco nibbles, though, with some of the other houses overlooking the back, it might not always feel completely private. Still, the house is large, comfortable and bright, with bunk beds for the kids and a main suite spanning the entire third floor – we recommend a nightcap on the adjoining balcony.
*Though a car isn't essential, there is parking for three cars. There isn't an EV charge at the home, but you'll find one a short walk away.
*There are stairs to climb here, so it won't be the best option for those with limited mobility. However, there's a ground-floor bedroom for those with limited mobility.
*South Devon is known for patchy phone coverage, so you might find that mobile signal is temperamental.
*If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a cot and high chair for free.
*Bedrooms four and five can be arranged with either two single beds or a super king.
*Other houses overlook the garden. There's a chance you might see a neighbour or two through the window, so it doesn't feel completely private.
