In a state dominated by vast open spaces, this Malibu beach ranch feels suitably large and expansive. Although it's only intended for two, the interior is more expansive than many family homes, with a long sofa stretching across one side of the living room and a kitchen with marble counters that will put a smile on the face of any home chef.
Your host has undoubtedly taken advantage of the amount of wall space by showing off an impressive and varied art collection, which gives the home a sense of playfulness – it almost seems a shame that guests will be spending so much time outside.
Alfresco seating looks out over a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean, encompassing Point Dume to the Santa Barbara Channel Islands. Guests also have access to a hot tub and a barbecue, so that's the evening itinerary sorted. Nearby, you can get to Zuma Beach in just a few minutes by car, while in the other direction, Zuma Ridge trailhead is just a ten-minute walk away from your front door.
