While the glorious, blue Ionian Sea laps the shore at the local marina, a five-minute stroll (passing waterside restaurants and diving centres) will take you home to a similarly coastal abode.

This modern, mid-century villa has quite a striking appearance. But surrounded by lush foliage and palm trees, it’s almost hidden from sight. Its gently undulating, curved roofs mirror the shape of the calm waves of the neighbouring sea. And to add to this theme, a glistening infinity pool sits in the garden. While you might spend a lot of time on the pool terrace, sipping chilled prosecco and listening to the waves, the kids can keep entertained in the playground. Or better still, your host can arrange an array of excursions, activities, and even babysitting services.

When you're not out and about, the cosy, homely interiors of your apartment will make you feel truly welcome. Vintage wooden furniture and 60s-style dining chairs take centre stage in the lounge. With old-fashioned touches like crocheted table linen and a tartan armchair, it’s easy to feel like part of Nonna’s family in this villa.
