Pyrenees in Paradise
From the mighty peak of Canigó, to the gentle walking trails of the lowlands, the Pyrenees mountain range is a rather spectacular place to spend a holiday. With gorgeous, traditional towns peppered throughout, there’s a postcard-ready scene around every corner. This is especially true of your duplex apartment in Vielha. Less than 50 metres from the Sant Miquèu church, this striking setting couldn’t be any closer to home.
Renovated in 2016, this original mountain abode still shows signs of old-world Catalonia. We love the lofty sloped ceiling in the living space, with its solid wooden beams. But then freshness comes through from a modern, white colour scheme and understated furniture. While this is the perfect place to kick off your walking boots and sip rich red wine, you might find it hard to tear yourself away from the window views.
Each vista presents a breathtaking scene of mountains and the old town – you can even explore this in more detail with your host’s generous offering of tour guides and recommendations. Of course, that’s if not you’re not too occupied with the ski slopes. After a long day shredding powder, you’ll love coming home to this cosy spot and soaking in the bath to end the evening.
