You'll spend just as much time in the garden as you will inside the home, with a barbecue grill and hot tub where you can relax and enjoy the surrounding views of the mountains and city with a drink, or dine alfresco on the terrace. Inside you'll find beautiful art adorning not only the walls but the surfaces too, with all the modern creature comforts you might need and then some. Relax under a hot shower, and step out onto luxurious heated floors before making your way to the living room where you can use the telescope for some stargazing at night. Depending on the time of year, this home is the perfect spot to watch the Northern Lights, and you don't even have to travel. Just sit back in the hot tub and watch the lights dance across the night sky.
The house is surrounded by stacked stone walls, and the walkways are created from lava that was produced by the Hekla volcano eruption in 1963. In the garden, you'll also find the private outdoor sauna, built like an old Icelandic turf house from the 1700s. This gorgeous and unique building has enough space to stretch your legs and a large window facing the house so you can still enjoy the views and watch the Northern Lights with full privacy from the neighbours.
The prime location of this home means you'll be out of the crowds and the hustle and bustle of the capital city, but still only a fifteen-minute drive away from downtown Reykjavik. Discover all the wonders the city has to offer, go whale watching in the seas or try out the fabulous local cuisine, whether yourself or through a walking food tour of the city. Visit famous sites like the stunning Hallgrimskirkja church and the Jökulsárlón glacier on the south coast. Whatever you decide to explore and do, you can guarantee there will be something for everyone with this beautiful home at the heart of it all.
