Now, this may not be the largest or the most luxurious apartment in all of Seville, but this home still scores plenty of ticks in our eyes.

For a start, the design has a fresh and contemporary feel, with the hardwood floors and stark white walls a timelessly stylish combination, especially with the addition of one or two pieces of colourful artwork. There may not be many furnishings, but there's a tastefully chic selection that all have a sense of coherence.

The kitchen is both minimalist in style and in the amount of surface space it offers guests, but, providing they wash up along the way, there's enough room and equipment for whipping up modest dinners.

We've done very well to get this far without mentioning the wonderful location. A stay here puts you within walking distance of Seville's historic centre and its well-preserved architecture, but the immediate area is still residential enough to have plenty of typically Andalusian restaurants, bars and markets.
