There's nothing like waking up to the blue ocean each morning – make yourself a coffee and step out onto the balcony to fully appreciate it and watch the boats sail by. This is the perfect moment to plan the day ahead.

With everything you need pretty much at your feet, we recommend taking a leisurely stroll to Barbati beach, where you can sit upon the white pebbles and swim in the crystal clear water or explore the secluded coves – this is considered by many to be one of the prettiest beaches in Corfu, and is not to be missed. When you start to feel a bit peckish, walk along to one of the restaurants or traditional taverns nearby to sample some of the local cuisine.

When you get home, unwinding for the evening is easy – slide open the patio doors to reveal a spacious pool deck. Take a refreshing dip to cool off and re-energise before dinner, or simply sit on a sun lounger and get lost in a good book for a while. Speaking of dinner, you'll have your own barbecue here, complete with a comfy seating area that's covered by a pergola. Throw some fresh seafood on the grill and then tuck in alfresco for a delicious and chilled-out meal. Make sure you don't miss the sunset (though admittedly that is hard here with panoramic views all the way to the Albanian mainland). Pour a glass of wine, sit back and enjoy the show.
