This bungalow has a quiet charm that can be hard to find in vibrant Venice. Built in the early 1900s, this cottage-like retreat takes you back to a carefree time where you hardly realise you're in the sprawling metropolis of Los Angeles. As you arrive under the leafy trellis, you’ll want to stop for a cool iced tea on the wooden slatted porch. Sitting out at this shady spot, the delicate, grey-blue painted exterior and white detailing reminds you of ocean surf lapping the sand. Inside, while clean, fresh, and modern, we love unique touches like the decorative brick fireplace, and record sleeves on the walls such as Janis Joplin, bringing that sixties California feel into the home. More beach vibes continue the more you look – the host even provides beach towels for guests, plus sand toys for the little ones, so you’ll be ocean-ready from the offset. Venice Beach and its famous boardwalk is a five-minute walk from your beautiful bungalow, while Santa Monica Beach is just over two miles away. You can cruise over there by car, hire a bike, or take a walk from your neighbourhood – a pleasant stroll past health-food cafés, surf boutiques, and beach-side restaurants.
