The Matira beach house was more than we expected. The location is perfect on the narrow Matira peninsula. Having the sunrise in the morning on the terrace with the lagoon and the Sofitel Motu in front during our breakfast was marvelleous. The house is big, functional and very well equipped for us, and appropriate for a family with children or 2 couples. The private beach in front of the house with its garden is exceptional and the public beach for sunset is at 100m away. We have also appreciated the kindly interaction with the neighbors who are charming and respectful of your privacy.

The Matira Beach House delivered everything we expected. One of best properties we have ever rented. Very private and clean and quiet. Walking distance to 2 food shops, car and boat rental. The beach was amazing. One of the best snorkelling spots in Bora Bora, the Coral Garden, is a 10 minute paddle straight off the beach. The house came with 3 kayaks which were great. Would rent here again.

This is a very nice, updated beach front house with a very responsive owner's staff.. The house is on the narrow Matira Beach peninsula. The private sandy beach is very nice and immediately next to the Hotel Continental over water hotel - a great place for a meal out. About 300 feer away is the only real public beach on Bora. Since it is on the opposite side of the peninsula, the wind is opposite - want still and hot, walk 300 feet. Want it a little cooler, stay put. The house had no problems and is beautifully decorated. The house is in a residential neighborhood and we met two of the neighbors - very friendly, nice folks, but respectful of your privacy. We were very happy with the rental. Bora Bora is beautiful, but a bit disappointing to us. Everything is private and access is not available to most of the beauty without a boat. You won't see much without paid guides. Thus, the house may be the only one with very nice beach access and a look at part of Bora. Our thanks to the owner's business staff (they own a couple of Bora businesses) who were great. Thank you Ettiene, Patrick and Hero.

This is by far the best rental property in Bora Bora. We travelled with our 3 young children (8,5 and 4) and the house was fully equipped with everything we possibly needed. We had a warm welcome from the boat and were taken to the house by a lovely gentleman who couldn't do more to assist us. The house itself is in a fantastic location right on the beach, close to shops and a stones throw from restaurants. After doing a tour of the island we saw some of the other properties that we were looking at staying in and we were so very pleased we chose this house. By far the best one!! There are 2 kayaks at the house that we used to explore the coral garden which is opposite and is one of the tour destinations. We went everyday to feed the fish and we all loved it. If we were to go back to Bora Bora we would definitely stay here again. I cannot express how much this property made our holiday, it really wouldn't have been as good anywhere else. Fantastic!

The house was better then the pictures. Plenty of room for two couples. The frontyard had a lawn and steps from the Matira beach. Best snorkeling on the island. The bedrooms are air conditioned. The kitchen has everything you need to cook. Even a American refrigerator with an ice maker. Nice store for supplies around the corner. Good restaurants in walking distance. The views of the ocean from the house were sensational.

We had a much to brief stay here and loved it. Great house right on the beach, cool breeze, aircon in the bedrooms and stunning snorkeling right in front. We were met at the airport by Hiro who delivered us to the house a later took us on a guided 4WD tour of the Island. Very friendly and helpfull. The manager, Patrick, was also very helpful and we were told to call him anytime with questions or problems. Good old fashioned hospitality in a spectacular part of the world.

Spent two glorious weeks in paradise with all the luxuries of home. The house was fully stocked with everything. The only thing you need is food and toiletries. Don't pack too much. It's equipped with a washer and dryer. The beach is beautiful and clean. Sit out on the patio and watch the sun rise and walk across the road and watch the sun set. Picked up at the dock in Vaitape and driven directly to the house. The only negative thing I have to say is the ants in the kitchen . The solution: put everything in the refrigerator or in closed containers .

Great communication before travel and was picked up at the ferry dock just as detailed. We asked were taken to the grocery store for food provisions on the way saving us a trip. The house was just as described and fully equipped with everything we needed. Lots of conveniences close by. The property had only a 1 person kayak and that's the one thing I would ask the owner to upgrade so that at lease a couple people could explore together. We speared a crown of thorns starfish to help save the coral of the lagoon. Neighbors walking let us know we did a good thing. Had a nice conversation with them and gave them our leftover food before we left as they were good neighbors. Thank you for letting us enjoy your home.

Amazing location, close to everything we needed, restaurants, supermarket. The house was neat and tidy had everything we needed, private beach access, excellent and friendly neighbours. Our only problem was unreliable pickup/drop off from the ferry wharf but overall an amazing place to stay, loved our 2 week stay, plenty of space for 2 adults and 2 teenage children.

Derinweb.

The house is located on a prime location in Bora on a gorgeous beach. We enjoyed running on the beach in the morning and soaking in the beauty of the ocean from the front yard. The house is spacious, simple and rustic, with all necessary appliances (all working), yet very clean with many personal nice touches, such as flowers everywhere, lots of towels, and many necessities. The house is high standards for the island. There are several restaurants within walking distance and they were all good and friendly. The activities we chose to do on the island were wonderful and well organized with easy pick-up/drop off from the Intercontinental next door. We went scuba diving with Bora Diving, located on the beach further down and we highly recommend them. Patrick came to meet us on time as agreed and was helpful. The little store nearby did not have much variety or selection but it was fine for basic items for our stay. We will visit again very soon! Thank you Steve and Heirama, for a wonderful and amazing stay. Your response was always quick and friendly.

We are from the USA and stayed at this beach house the second week in February with another couple. It is located right next door to the Intercontinental hotel which is a 2 minute walk to their restaurant, Tahitian show (very nice and free with dinner) and concierge that will book excursions for you. The bar does have a happy hour for a Buy One Get One drink special. Patrick is the property manager and was available by telephone which the house has in case of any problems or can be used for calling taxis and making dinner reservations (most restaurants offered free shuttle service to and from their restaurant from the Intercontinental. The house is right on the beach. A small one lane side street allows vehicles to drive up to the house and beach. There are four other houses on the same street which leads to the main road which circles Bora Bora. The house has both a double and single kayak. We were unable to use them because it rained very hard the entire week we were at the house. A motu that was used for snorkeling excursions was only a ten minute paddle straight from the house. You could see all the snorkeling excursion boats anchoring there. The beach was about 50 feet wide in front of the house and looked like it had a nice sandy bottom. The beaches all seem to be private with no trespassing signs posted by all the houses so walking the beach was limited to the immediate beach in front of the house. There was a lot of shuttle boats going constantly to the Intercontinental dock which was only 50 feet away. I am listing the pros and cons for this house: PRO: The house was roomy inside with a sofa, 2 large chairs and a day bed in the living room area. The 2 bedrooms each have A/C which worked nicely plus a ceiling fan which circulated the air. The master bath is large with a shower and rain style shower head. There was even soap, shampoo, and toilet paper in the bathroom. There is a door from the master bath to the outside with just a simple eye hook holding it close. Plenty of closet space for hanging clothes and a shelving unit for the folded clothes. The master bedroom has a window view of the beach and water. The second bedroom has no view. The dining room has a nice large table with chairs to seat six people. The kitchen has a full size refrigerator / freezer. There is a microwave, toaster, coffee pot, ricer, nice new Teflon coated pots and pans. Plenty of hot water. The nicest amenities are window screens and the brand new super large washing machine. There is also a dryer. The window screens kept the mosquitos out of the house at night. Patrick helped us out and sent someone to help us with a personal problem which required a taxi ride into the town center. He also provided us free transportation from the Maitai Polynesia Hotel that we were staying at prior to our moving into the beach house. The hotel is a ten minute walk from the beach house and has 2 nice restaurants and a nice beach. The owner also has a 3 ring binder with needed information (WI-FI password, emergency phone numbers, restaurant phone numbers, etc.) in the house which was very helpful. It would have been a very nice stay except for the seven days of downpour that we had. CONS: 1. There was only one set of keys for the front door. With 2 couples wanting to do different excursions or trips created a problem of which couple did not get a key. 2. The TV did not work. We were told that the cable box needed to be replaced which never got done during our stay. Even if the cable box tuner was replaced, the tv was in very poor condition with pink lines on the left 1/3 of the screen. It needs to be replaced. I think the owner should consider doing the following: 1. Provide a second house key 2. Install a small (non-key) safe to store money, pass ports, etc. The house can be easily entered through the sliding windows because the screens lift out easily from the outside allowing easy access into the house if the window is not closed and locked. 3. Putting operational information on the microwave, oven, tv, cable box instructions in the binder (probably English and French). 4. Install a better door lock on the main door.
