Les Maisons en Provence in village of Sablet, 3 Bedroom Vacation House

La Grande Maison & La Petite Maison is the perfect answer for guests who would like the village experience - but cannot find a house of this size, inside the walls of a medieval village - which can accommodate their whole group.
Together, La Grande Maison and La Petite Maison will comfortably welcome up to 8 guests, 4 couples or 8 friends travelling together. The perfect place for that vacation in France, Sablet is a hill top village nestled amongst the vineyards of the Cote du Rhone. Sablet is a living French village with bakeries, bars and some excellent restuarants. Nearby you have the historic villages of Vaison La Romaine, Seguret, Gigondas and Capentras where you can visit Roman ruins, taste the wines shop at the local markets or simply dine out while enjoying the magnificent vista.
La Grande Maison and La Petite Maison are also available for rental together or separately. Rates are provided for La Grande, rates for La Petite are approx 40% of those for the main house. There is a discount for renting both - prices on application
Both have been carefully renovated with a style that combines modern European amenities with old Provence.
La Grande Maison
As you enter from Place de L'Eglise near the Romanesque Church of St. Nazaire, you find rental villa, stylishly yet comfortably furnished with a traditional Maison Provencale character and decor
The wood burning fireplace in the living-dining room, with its rough hewn wood mantelpiece and the heavy wood beamed ceilings says, Welcome to Provence
For relaxation and keeping up with the world, a flat screened TV with Sky satellite reception to receive both French and English speaking channels, DVD, stereo and high speed internet access.
Light, bright and airy is ones first impression when you step from the Living room, through the archway into a sparkling, fully equipped kitchen. Lots of opportunity to enjoy working with the wonderful produce that is so easily available at the many markets within minutes of Sablet.
A curved staircase leads to the upper (split) level with three bedrooms and two bathrooms.
The Master Bedroom with its own en-suite with bath is located a few steps down from the second and third bedroom level and has windows overlooking the church garden
The second and third bedrooms share a large, full bathroom with a walk in tiled shower, hand basin and toilet.
Traditional wood shuttered bedroom windows look out over the village houses and across to the church lawn and garden.
The terrace is effectively at the top of the village and you can sit down and enjoy 360 degree views of the Cote du Rhone and the Dentelles while partaking of a glass of the local wine
La Petite Maison
La Petite Maison has a completely separate entry and is on the lowest level of the building and provides the perfect pied a terre for a single traveler or two people who would like to enjoy the village life whilst exploring Provence.
Fully equipped with a new modern kitchen and dining, the kitchen includes gas hotplates, electric oven, refrigerator, dishwasher and microwave.
Enjoy a cozy salon complete with satellite TV and music system. La Petite Maison has internet access in all rooms and a phone system that allows you to make phone calls to land lines anywhere in the world free of charge.
Sleep comfortably in your queensize bed with ensuite. La Petite Maison is wonderfully cool in the summer and has a large column heater which keeps the whole of the apartment warm in winter

We have just enjoyed our second visit to this magnificent property located in the village of Sablet. On this occasion, we were in La Petite Maison, a delightful one bedroom apartment thoughtfully furnished and fitted with everything you need to enjoy your time in the village and the surrounding area. The attractions in the area are many, and this apartment makes an ideal base from which to explore the region. The information provided in the property is helpful and comprehensive. If considering exploring this wonderful region of France, this would be an excellent choice. Strongly recommended.

Our family of five absolutely loved the house and Sablet. The big house is superbly renovated /restored, and has a high-quality homely feel. Little touches like handmade guest soaps and a bottle of good wine show the owners care about their tenants experience. Nadia, who checked us in, was above and beyond what you'd expect in a host, she was so helpful at any time. Sablet was magical, we stayed there a week and could have stayed a month.

This one bedroom flat is spacious, attractively decorated and practically equipped - a real home from home. It is clean and comfortable and a brilliant base from which to explore the area. The scenery is wonderful with rolling hills, vineyards and olive trees. Local markets are enticing and varied. The people of Sablet are friendly and welcoming. The bakery and Cafe de Sport were firm favourites. We certainly hope to go back again.

We stayed at La Grande Maison in late June and early July 2012 and found it perfect for our needs. We spent one week with family and another with an old friend and found the house was just right for four or five people at a time, comfortable and roomy enough that we never felt we were right on top of one another. The combination of lovely old house and mods cons was just right. The village of Sablet is vastly underrated by most guidebooks, if not left out altogether. Yes, one can walk to beautiful Segueret and Gigondas, but Sablet has a quiet charm all its own, with the added bonus of a grocery store, pharmacy, etc. Bar des Sports (aka "Bruno's Place") is a lot of fun, and Bruno is a real charmer. The surprise find is a new place at the town center called (if memory serves) L'Instant Présent, an unassuming little outdoor crêperie that serves simply magnificent food. (Also highly recommended are Les Abeilles in town and Les Collines, near Vaison la Romaine, the latter well worth the 20 minute's drive.) If you go, be sure and walk the path to Segueret which is, as advertised, one of Les Plus Beaux Villages de France. It also houses one of the best little dessert restaurants (La Maison d'Eglantine) you'll find anywhere. Hats off to Tony and Mary Byrne for helping create a wonderful, inviting home-away-from-home in beautiful, sunny Provence!

This wonderfully restored villa provides five star accomodation high in a small village; a wonderful base from which to explore the many wonderful sights and attractions in the area as well as providing a very comfortable location in which you can relax and soak up the wonderful ambience of the village. The villa ia located in a quiet area within close walking distance of the village square, with the market, two bakeries, restaurants, bar, etc just begging for you to linger and sample the way of life. The Grand Maison has three bedrooms and provides plenty of space for a group of friends to stay without being crowded. The Petite Maison is perfect for two. A wonderful place to stay, and our week was finished all too soon. We will be back, this time for longer, to enjoy this wonderful villa.

We enjoyed a delightful week at Les Maisons en Provence in Sablet. Les Maisons is beautifully restored, immaculate, and included every thing we needed or could even think of for our family. Even our gourmet cook never found the kitchen lacking! Our group included our son, daughter-in-law, and teen-age grandson. Upon arrival our grandson toured the house, ending on the roof-top deck to exclaim, "I could live here!" The rest of us felt that way too, but our French is minimal. That turned out to be NO problem at all. The village residents couldn't have been more friendly, helping us with directions, greeting us as we came and went, bidding us "au revoir" as we departed. From the time we contacted them about Les Maisons, Tony and Mary Byrne could not have been more helpful. The information they sent us about how to use the appliances was the best we've ever received--directions as well as photos. They also included suggestions about sites to see, restaurants, and much more. Sablet is a perfect spot in which to experience Provence. It's an easy jaunt to almost all the sites one wants to visit. The local grocery has plenty of food if you want to eat in after all-too-much-lunch; and there are several outstanding restaurants (some within a short drive, others only a short walk) that should not be missed for dining out. Our only regret is that we did not have enough time to fully enjoy all the pleasantries Les Maisons has to offer. We hope to return and spend more evenings on the deck enjoying every minute of the beautiful sunsets, then cozy up before the fireplace in the wonderful country French ambiance of the living room. Indeed, we could live there!!

We stayed in the Petite Maison for a week in September 2010. There was just the two of us so it was a perfect size apartment. It has a good sized lounge area and kitchen/dining area with all the necessities provided. It has a lovely ambience. The only downside is that bedroom is off the kitchen/dining area and cannot be closed off which is only a problem if one person wants to go to bed and the other wants to potter in the kitchen. High speed internet is available and phone which can ring land line numbers anywhere in the world - a great bonus for us to catch up with family and friends. The villa is at the top of the the village of Sablet and we would not recommend driving up to drop off bags - the "streets" are too narrow. After we dropped ours off we left the car in the village carpark and walked the short between the villa and the carpark. The village is quite central to other towns and villages in the area of Orange and Vaisson La Romaine so there is lots to see in this northern area of Provence. There are enough shops in the village to provide for all your necessities. Everything was neat and clean when we arrived and Ros (our greeter) was very accommodating and helpful. We had a great stay and would recommend this apartment to other couples.

From having breakfast consisting of fresh bread & fruit on the terrace to watching beautiful sunsets on the rooftop while dining & enjoying the excellent local wines, we had a wonderful time during our stay at Les Maisons en Provence. The surrounding area offers many opportunities to explore & experience the various treasures of Provence.

In travelling to Southern France we were focused on relaxation, not being in a major city, being able to enjoy local food and wine and mixing with the locals. Les Maisons definitely allowed us to tick all the boxes of expectations and contributed to a memorable stay. The Villa is well situated within Sablet and is a short walk to various services. We particularly enjoyed the breads and pasteries from the very popular bakery as well as having a beer or wine at the "local" bar / restaurantwhere we could sit and watch the goings on around the smallvillage centre. The Villa itself has been set up to a high standard and really left us wanting nothing more.Clean , very comfortable , all the necessary mod cons meant a no stress and relaxed stay. Sablet village is well situated to allow for visits to many other villages and follow the market days from place to place. It iis also handy to larger centres such as avignon and must sees such as The Pont DuGarde. As wine enthusiasts we were in the thick of some well known regions such as Chateau NufDe Pape and Gigondas so were able to experience first hand what we had read and researched. To sum up: Would we recommend or return?? the simple answer - most definitely!!

From the time we arrived at Les Maisons en Provence we were greeted with a beautiful character home in Sablet which epitomised everything we had imagined and more. From a superb refurbishment with French decor, expansive views from the rooftop terrace overlooking the local countryside. Every amenity was supplied including soap, shampoo, washing powder and kitchen requirements which further relaxed us when we arrived. Every evening we enjoyed drinks and local food on the front patio which was opposite a lovely park with established gardens. We enjoyed our morning walks down to the local bakery for lovely fresh baked bread to have with our breakfast. Within 5 minutes from the front door we could walk to to the bakery, cafe, butchery, reastaurant and wine cellar. Within an hour of Sablet we found lovely villages, markets, wineries and restaurants. We were also amazed with the friendliness of the local people. Overall our week at Les Maisons en Provence was amazing and we are already planning when we can return to enjoy the experience again and explore the region further.

Directions to finding the property were clear - howver, car access is limited. It sits on top of the hill adjacent to the church. The property had just been renovated and provided all necessary living, bathroom and kitchen/dining facilities. We shared with a friend. A small roof top deck provided the ideal location for pre-dinner drinks. Whilst Sablet is small it has the necssities of life - cafe, wine shop and an excellent local restaurant. Its convenience to Avignon and the surrounding districts makes it an ideal location to stay without having to be in a larger town/city. Best part was watching the sunset from the rooftop deck. Lack of parking means that luggage and provisions have to be carried about 50 metres.

Staying in Les Maisons was a wonderful experience. The building has been renovated beautifully, and is very spacious. Staying in a medieval village was part of the charm. Sablet is easy to get to many other villages and towns, we walked to the two closest villages. There are many wineries close by and the different villages have lovely restaurants and cafes. It is the first time we have been to Europe in the Autumn and it was very beautiful. The strong wind called the Minstral was a bit hard to take, but it didnt stop us enjoying our holidays. We had the most wonderful time.

La Grand Maison is a beautiful house in a lovely village with all the
appointments of a five star villa. The house is very spacious with
first class furnishings and fittings. The outlook from the bedrooms,
and the roof terrace in particular is magnificent. The kitchen is large
with modern appliances and is tastefully arranged. The bedrooms are
roomy and the beds most comfortable. The ensuite bathrooms are also
spacious with modern fittings. We arrived during a cold snap in France
and it was very comforting to be able to have central heating and a wood
fire available to warm us and dry our clothes. The town of Sablet is
what we imagined a small period French village to be while having all
the amenities one requires to either eat out or acquire the merchandise
required to eat at home. We travelled far and wide from Sablet each day
and it was a lovely base to come back to each evening. While we enjoyed
the tavelling from our base in Sablet, it is also a perfect spot to
stay, enjoy the French ambience and unwind. The house and the village
want for nothing and we had no complaints or negatives.
