Our family group of seven stayed at Villa Anouska for a ten day break. The layout of the house is absolutely perfect for a group wanting a great space to come together, but also seeking privacy. Extensive and very scientific research determined that Anouska has the best ocean pool along this stretch of coast: a glorious place to take a dip, no matter what the weather (and of course, there is always the lovely pool at the front of the house). We would second the recommendation to stock up at the supermarket on your way in, so that you can settle in for a few days and enjoy the house. Yes, the road is a little rough! If you have the right vehicle it is not really a problem (it seems like utes are the way to go). Or just don't go anywhere - why would you :) ? Help was on hand whenever we had a question and nothing was too much trouble. Such a lovely holiday; I'd happily recommend Villa Anouska to anyone.

I recently stayed with my husband and 2 other couples. From the minute we arrived we relaxed into "island time". Villa Anouska is the perfect antidote to a cold winter- from the salt water pool to the rock pool, luxurious bedrooms with king size beds, comfy lounges and outdoor seating and of course the barbecue. Access by road is bumpy but bearable. We hired quad bikes which was a great way to see the island. Tips we received from the managers Christiana and Toga by email were very helpful as you need to stop at the supermarket on your way from the airport to the Villa. I would recommend booking Christiana to cook for you at the Villa as it was one of the highlights of our stay. Lovely experience- can't wait to come back.

We were a group of 4 couples and this Villa was amazing. The grounds are well on the way to recovery following the cyclone but the house was spotless and well presented with no damage. Plenty of options for cooking or a BBQ and spacious room for relaxing and entertaining. The road to Port Vila has suffered and is 45min of rough road. The driver Seth was very helpful and arranged transport at whatever time we needed and for all 8 of us. We didn't get to sample Christiana's cooking will have to do it next time. This is a place to lay back , enjoy the surroundings and relax. Thanks for a wonderful stay

This wasn't the first time we have stayed at Villa Anouska, and we hope it won't be the last. Just arriving at Port Vila, Vanuatu, evokes the essence of the South Pacific - the silky air and the rich smells are instant triggers for a change of pace. But it's when you arrive at the gates of the Villa that the dream really comes true. To say the place is magical may be a cliché, but I can't think of a better way to sum it up. It's not bright lights and constant action - it's sparkling mornings and balmy nights and the murmur of the Pacific breakers always in your ear. Books, relaxation, a glass of wine ... the house and the hospitality are elegant, simple, and oh so stylish. We can't recommend the holiday highly enough.

What a gorgeous home in a gorgeous location - perfect for entertaining or simply lazing on one of the many daybeds. We spent the weekend at Villa Anouska after staying at a resort in Port Vila and it was a welcome respite. Each of the four king bedrooms has an ensuite, so this is the perfect place for couples sharing, or a large family. The huge living area is comfortable and welcoming - even with kids you feel you can completely relax and chill out. The white sand beach and shallow natural pool are great for kids, or to keep a closer eye on them, the in-ground pool right in front of the open plan living room is simply stunning. This house is decked out for events too - catering for about 50 people with everything you could possibly need for a wedding or birthday. There really is no downside to Villa Anouska - you're only 20 minutes from town should you need anything, there are two restaurants within beach-walking distance and the house has onsite caretakers to clean up after you! Just total bliss really!

If you're wanting to get away from it all but want to do it in comfort then this is the villa for you. Only a 20 minute drive from Port Vila, Villa Anouska is totally secluded, giving you the feeling of having the Island to yourself. The Villa itself is beautiful. Each of the four double sized rooms come with their own en-suite shower & toilet, and are are immaculately clean. The mattress was very comfortable but it was the sound of the waves on the beach that put me to sleep each night. The main room in the villa is light and airy consists of a large kitchen and dining table as well as a large collection of daybeds and couches to lounge and relax on. The high ceiling and fold away doors give it an extra sense of spaciousness. The view from the main room out across the pool and manicured gardens, towards the the rock pool and the private beach was truly spectacular, making it impossible not to relax! We were a group of six friends and it rained heavily for the first few days restricting us to indoor areas only. Despite this the villa was spacious enough with plenty of areas for socialising or solitude. I am in a manual wheelchair and found the Villa to be totally accessible for me. There are only one or two steps into the villa on arrival, which then gives you level access to the main living area, including the kitchen & dining area. There is one small step down to access the patio, pool and bedrooms. I am fairly independent and found that with a small run up I could get up the step between the bedroom and living area on my own, although I did need assistance with the stair at the entrance to the villa. The step problem could be easily solved by using a solution that I have used when staying at other villas where the stairs have been more problematic. A small ramp can be made by using a reinforced sheet or two of wood from a local hardware shop or carpenter. I didn't feel the need to ask on this holiday as it wasn't necessary but I'm sure the owner or housekeeper would be happy to assist. As for the bedroom it was very easy to get around in the wheelchair. The bathroom and toilet were easy to access and the shower was level with no lip or step on entry. Unfortunately I do not think there is enough space for an electric chair to access the bathroom from the bedroom. One thing that wheelchair users should be aware of is that one of the main forms of transport on the Island is by minivan so check if you are able to get in and out of one, or look at trying to hire yourself something different. We managed by lifting me in and out of minivans, not the most dignifies of arrivals but we managed!

We loved staying at this beautiful villa. The layout is such that even though we were 8 people, we could all have our own space if needed, even on the rainy days. We had a few days of rain and the rest was sunny but in any weather the place is just so relaxing with plenty of space. Unlike some places, the kitchen is also fully equipped which makes cooking in so much easier. One of our group was also on a manual wheelchair and apart from the odd very small step into a couple of rooms, access was amazing.

We had stayed in several large resorts during a more than 20-year love affair with Vanuatu. While they were all lovely, there was nothing to match Villa Anouska, where we have now stayed a number of times. It offers all the luxury and facilities of the big resorts and, while the pictures tell much of the story, they can't convey the special feeling of being in your own private paradise. The on-site staff, Liman and Bernard, are wonderful and they'll help make your stay hassle-free. It can be a bit hard to drag yourself away from Villa Anouska but we usually make at least one snorkelling trip to both Turtle Bay and Eton Beach, which is a bit further afield but less developed. Make sure to check that the tide's in before you set out! We also love shopping at the waterfront market in Port Vila for fabulous, inexpensive produce, and in the supermarkets for superb organic beef. We can't wait to go back!

We so loved our first holiday at Villa Anouska that we have returned four times with friends and family. From the moment we arrive at the front door and look through the open plan house to the swimming pool and beyond to the ocean, we know that we are in for another special time here. The Villa is very tastefully and comfortably furnished, with numerous seating areas inside and out, so there is no feeling of being on top of each other. All the doors are folding shuttered and the raked white ceilings with fans give an amazing sense of tropical luxury. The beds are huge super king size with crispy sheets and each separate air conditioned guest suite allows space, privacy and pure comfort. Two of the suites have an interconnecting door which really suits our family with their children. There are lots of books on the book shelves and games to play together with the family, not to mention the entertainment of crab and coconut life on the beach, so nobody gets bored. The swimming pool is well positioned to watch the younger members of our family and the private sandy beach and ocean pool is just a few steps away. Sometimes we see the local Vanuatu people fishing off the reef and if we are lucky, we might score a fresh lobster or two. Occasionally we take advantage of a couple of the local restaurants a short drive along the way, but so love the ambiance of Villa Anouska that by sunset and cocktail time on the beach, it is hard to tear ourselves away. Great cooking facilities, a large fridge/freezer and a big BBQ make it all so easy to self cater. We always hire a 4 WD because some of the roads in Vanuatu are unsealed (part of the adventure). Being mobile means we can drive into the town of Port Vila (20 minutes) for supermarket, fantastic organic beef and the local (again, organic) fruit and vege markets where we buy heaps of fresh produce for very little. The French wines are easy drinking and inexpensive. The house and garden staff are a lovely family who we have come to know and they are always very welcoming when we return to Villa Anouska. We highly recommend Villa Anouska for a fabulous holiday in Vanuatu.

I had the joy of staying at Vila anouska in March 2014 with a group of friends. The house itself is stunning, high ceilings, beautifully styled and meticulously maintained by the charming housekeeper Lemin. From every room you could hear the sound of the waves and look out to see the garden and private beach and I found that incredibly relaxing. Most of the week was spent swimming in the pool and in the rock pool in the private beach and taking walks and runs along the surrounding beaches. An unexpected bonus was the extremely well equipped kitchen and we made some fantastic meals using produce from the Port Vila markets and some of Lemin's home grown vegetables. We did venture out on a couple of days to explore a bit more of the island and to do food shopping but the majority of the time we all opted to stay at Villa anouska during the day to relax and enjoy the stunning property. There was also plenty of room for the six of us to sit together or have our own space at the villa, with big couches and chill-out areas all over the property, including a shaded bed-swing right on the beach! We ate out a few evenings and a highlight was Ripples restaurant, run by an australian couple. It's a gorgeous open air restaurant perched right on the water front amidst tropical gardens and just a ten minute walk from the Vila. Vila anouska is one of those properties that far exceeded the photos and my expectations. It was an ideal choice for our group of friends who needed a totally relaxing break in a stunning location. It turned out to be the highlight of the whole trip to Vanuatu and I couldn't imagine returning to Vanuatu and not staying there.

There couldn't be a more stunning location in Vanuatu than anouska, where you wake up every morning to the most crisp beautiful light and stunning azure sea imaginable. Everything from the decor to the service is impeccable. This is true luxury of a kind that must be experienced to be understood.

We've stayed at Vila anouska on several occasions and have never been disappointed. The space is wonderful and it is the ideal house to share with others as there numerous private spaces that separate guests and allow for some quiet time away from others. The pool is a delight and being attached to the main house makes it easy to supervise children (essential as there's no pool fence but then the unfenced beach is just a few metres away) and plenty to amuse them while relaxing in the sun. If you like cooking the kitchen is very well equipped and has every appliance you need to cook for family and friends. And there are so many places to eat - inside, on the expansive verandahs, in the garden under the trees or on the beachfront in the faré which seats 16 people and has a built-in BBQ adjacent. Or BBQ on the verandah with the big stainless steel gas version. The bedrooms and bathrooms are all like self-contained suites with huge beds and en-suites with seats, lounges and day beds. The live-in staff family are so helpful and it's a joy to have the house and garden attended to every day without ever feeling interrupted. The house is kept in pristine condition with heaps of linen and beach towels, and seating for plenty of guests both in the lounging and outdoor areas as well as the various dining spaces. We took a helicopter tour on one trip and the chopper arrived right on the private beach to take us on a sightseeing trip - magic. Couldn't recommend highly enough.

I recently spent 10 magical days in this amazing villa. It is my seventh holiday at Villa anouska, proof that once you have stayed here you are well and truly hooked for life. Arguably the best designed Villa in Vanuatu not only for comfort and luxury but also for functionality. This huge compound easily accommodates 8 people comfortably, offering different relaxation and entertainment zones from the private white sandy beach with reef pool to the wet edge resort pool and surrounding terraces to the overwhelming main cathedral ceiling pavilion, there is so much room for everyone without getting in each others way. Where else can three generations from one family all holiday together and all be content. The in house staff are amazing and float about seamlessly tending to housekeeping and gardening as if they are not there at all. If you are a foodie orientated family like mine is, it is a culinary dream. The local grass fed organic beef is up there with anything I have ever eaten and the local fresh seafood needs no advertising. Barbecuing fresh local lobster, prawns and fish on the beachfront bure while downing a few holiday cocktails and wines watching the sun go down is what life's all about. If you are looking for a relaxing family holiday or a romantic getaway, in a breathtaking luxurious private beachfront villa, then you will not be disappointed, and as I was hooked from my first visit be prepared to be hooked for life!

This beachfront home is pure luxury, from the beautiful king-sized beds and linen through to the lovely pool and private beach. Our family of four felt like royalty, with staff to clean up after us. This house is away from the busy tourist areas, but still a relatively easy drive to the island's attractions. We hired our own 4WD (recommended to negotiate gravel roads), but the house staff are happy to drive you around. Stock up at the French supermaarket on your way from the airport (the pastries, meat, fruit and veg are second to none) and settle in for a luxurious stay. Anouska has everything that you need, and then some.

The picture tells the whole story. The house is everything an island holiday house should be.We went with four adults and three kids. There's plenty of room for solitude and plenty of room for getting together. All the appliances are top notch and the decoration understated and elegant. We barbecued every night and swam in the pool most of the day when we weren't reading or asleep.. The kids had a ball collecting hermit crabs and exploring. There are lots of restaurants and bars to relax in and Port Vila is only fifteen minutes away by car.The supermarkets are full of delicious local meats and imported French specialties and even wine is reasonably priced. The house has live in help so beds are made and everything is sparkling clean. You will need to hire a car to make the most of the stay.We enjoyed every minute of our holiday.

This luxurious abode is thoughtfully designed and very well appointed. It has a breathtaking view straight on to the ocean over its own beach, which is captured by all rooms in the house. Everything is there, right down to the milk frother for your morning coffee. The view accompanied by the sound of the ocean and the incredible comfort ensures that it occupants have to surrender into complete relaxation. An amazing holiday suited to families, up to four couples - anyone who wants the ultimate holiday experience.

We have just returned from 10 days in Villa Anouska with our three children (5, 7 and 9 years). We feel like we hit the jackpot with this property. When you walk through the front doors it is breathtaking, looking straight out over the ocean. We chose to use two, of the four bedrooms, that had an access door linking them. Otherwise each bedroom is separate to the living space and locked at night (which is great for couples, but we felt we needed access to the kids). The pool is not fenced, but a great addition to the house and if you have competent kids around water. Having said that, the rock pool located on the beach right in front of the house is perfect for little snorkelers to see a great array of little tropical fish. We even saw dolphins swim past! A lovely lady, Liman, lives on the property to care for the house. We weren't aware of this and were not expecting it but she was very happy for us to take care of ourselves and be available to help when we needed it. Overall a great holiday and highly recommended for families or couples holidaying together.

We had 6 nights at Villa Anouska and absolutely loved it. You really feel like you are staying in your own holiday house. As well as all of the excellent facilities, there are lots of little comforts like board games for inside and Frisbees for outside. The housekeeper (Liman) was also excellent. If you want a home where you can really relax we could not recommend this more highly. We were 4 adults and 2 children, so having 4 double bedrooms with ensuites gave us all the accommodation options we needed. Returning to Villa Anouska is going to be a family tradition for us - and only just over 3 hours from Sydney. Amazing.

We stayed at Villa Anouska for one week in September 2018. The photos and description simply do not do it justice. There are no tricks here; it is simply a wonderful large villa with a huge (and surprisingly deep in parts) in-ground pool with its very own beach frontage. The four bedrooms each have their own en-suite and two have TVs (these were the only TVs we saw, be aware there is no communal lounge room TV but you're probably not visiting Vanuatu to watch TV the whole time) The property is self-catered so you will need to pick up some essentials on the way from the airport, but there are also two additional dining options within walking distance (Tamanu and Ripples) There is a lovely on-site housekeeper (Limann) who cleans and keeps the place tidy. Because almost everything was perfect we will just go over the very few cons: This property is so isolated from Port Vila down a series of dirt roads with a LOT of pot holes. We got used to the drive, however after a week we were reluctant to keep going back and forth. You would be foolish not to rent your own vehicle unless you don't feel comfortable driving (in which case you will be on the hook for taxis at around AUD50 and will be waiting for at least 30-45 minutes each time you call) The WiFi on the property is non-existent during the day until around 7PM when it is fast and unlimited until around 6AM. This was a little bit annoying because of our modern reliance on phones, but again, not in Vanuatu to surf the net all day. Salt water! You will find many beachfront properties have warnings about salt water/salt spray, and this property is no exception. Don't leave anything of value outside; our books and magazines got a bit sticky by the second or third day. Not a huge deal, but something to be aware of. Nature! Because of the property's proximity to the beach and its open plantation-style shutters it is only natural insects and small creatures are drawn to the villa. The main ones we saw indoors after-hours were geckos (completely harmless) and the odd flying insect. Close up the villa windows/doors at sunset and use the nets around the beds in the bedrooms if you have any concerns. You will not regret staying at Villa Anouska!
