Michelangelo was a great host of the beautiful flat in Budapest. The unit has a great location and a stunning view. Moreover the appartment had a great athmosphare and tidy rooms. It was easy to find it and I got excellent guide by email and phone. Thanks for the unforgetable holiday.

If you are looking for an apartment in Budapest in a great, central location, then look no further. The apartment offers secure, spacious accommodation and was ideal for our group of 5 guests. The service we received from the owner was excellent, and we had no problems in finding or gaining access to the apartment. On arrival the apartment was clean and welcoming. Wi-fi access was also provided. The apartment is located on the top floor of the building (hence the views), but the handy elevator was well used by us during our stay. The apartment overlooks the formidable St Stephen's Basilica, and the views to Gellert Hill and Castle HIll - especially at night - are amazing. The apartment is close to many transport links, and the 'hop on, hop off' bus tour stops. It's so convenient as a base to explore the many bars and restaurants; and we particularly enjoyed strolling up Andrássy Way to Heroes' Square and the Széchenyi thermal baths. Although being so close to all of this, the apartment offers a quiet space in which to relax when you're not out and about. The apartment really contributed to the enjoyment of our trip, and we would definitely stay here again. Thank you!

I would not hesitate to recommend this apartment to anyone. My wife and I stayed in Budapest at this apartment for 6 days. From contact communication and meet up to check out was flawless. The location and view of St. Stephan's and the surrounding areas are perfect. It is one block from the main Metro of all of Budapest, with great restaurants and CBA shops on the same block. The apartment was spotless as well and has a lift. It was only the two of us but the living room had either 1 or 2 pull out sofas so 4 could easily stay. Made our stay in Budapest one of the best on our 4 city tour!

The apartment is newly renovated, the furniture is stylish and antique, yet extremely functional and practical. The kitchen is fully equipped and brand new and, being a good cooker, I appreciated that: it was easy to prepare a dinner, and it was fabulous to dine with the amazing Castle view. Finally, the position is the best you can have in town, everything is walking distance. Michelangelo, the manager, is a friendly, communicative and very helpful Italian guy. Don't look further for your stay in Budapest!

Wonderful apartment in the heart of things - right across from St. Stephen's Basilica. Michelangelo and Babszi were great with communications and greeting us and helping provide suggestions. Very generous-sized apartment for two people. Could accommodate four, but two would be on couch in living room so as a couple we really appreciated the space. We also appreciated the AC in the apartment since outside temps were 35C (95F) almost every day! Comfortable bed, beautiful views from windows. Although the apartment was at the top of the building ("Attic" has a meaning, after all), there was a lift so you don't need to schlep yourselves and your luggage up and down stairs. Our only complaint was late night street noise. We're in our 60's, so we don't stay up late. But clearly the younger generation does. If you're sensitive to noise, bring earplugs. Otherwise, no complaints.

This apartment is heavenly for two, would probably be great for two couples as well. Completely agree with previous comments on fabulous location and metro connections (walking, trolley, subway…). We stayed over the Christmas Holiday and the apartment was very cozy and warm—charming! Gorgeous holiday lights outside the windows (not only on the basilica) brightened the dark winter evenings. We found the apartment’s set-up to be excellent, it’s spacious for one thing, and the tables, chairs, and other furnishings while practical and efficient for daily use, are also lovely, with warmth and character. Michelangelo is a wonderful host. He is right on top of things and amazingly helpful for anything at all that you might need. Do have him arrange travel from airport, it’s a good price and makes such a smooth transition into life at the apartment. This apartment is highly recommended!

Very good location. Budapest a fun city to visit. Michelangelo was very helpful and informative. Very responsive to our needs. The only problems were a few infrastructure issues, ie air conditioning. Michelangelo aware and working on getting everything fixed. We would stay there again. 4 1/2 stars.

We had a group of 9 of us staying at the basillica apartment for the duration of a week and we had a fantastic time. The apartment is an ideal location minutes from the metro system and is practically right in the centre of the city. The views out the window of the basillica were just breathtaking. There are two fully equipped bathrooms with showers which wad ideal for our large group and the sleeping set up of 3 generous double beds and extra mattresses was better than what we had imagined it would be. Very comfortable and very clean apartment. Michelangelo was an excellent host very attentive and helpful from even before we arrived. Would recommend staying here to big and small groups alike.

We would definitely stay here again and tried to stay longer but were not able to. The apartment is nicely designed and furnished, it feels like a home and is just a relaxing place to be. We think it is the best place we have ever stayed on our travels. Because it is on the corner of the building it gets plenty of light. The views out the window toward the castle and Basilica are wonderful - just as pictured. The kitchen is well-equipped and there are cleaning supplies like laundry powder etc. We really appreciated the nice large towels and good supply of linen. We stayed for two weeks and cleaning was provided after one week. The apartment is very clean. The internet is fast and reliable. There is a charming old lift so you don't have to deal with steps with your luggage (also good if you have a disability or injury like me). The apartment is central and on a main street so you will hear traffic and people, but with the windows closed the noise is muffled and did not bother us. There is a bus that stops by the Basilica which will take you to the Lukacs baths - which we recommend; these baths did wonders for my back problem. Other transport connections are very nearby as well. There is a big selection of places restaurants in the area - especially on October 6 street. The little grocery store downstairs in the same building is great and had really nice small csiga pastries. There is a bigger supermarket not far away

This apartment is fantastic! The location and view of the basilica could not be bettered. The apartment has all the facilities needed for a very comfortable stay. Michelangelo was extremely helpful both before and during our stay, organised a taxi for us to and from the property. I had not realised how big budapest is! We stayed for six nights and still did not scratch the surface, so please do your research thoroughly before you go. Unfortunately my mum had died shortly before, so I did not get the chance to do this myself. I wholeheartedly recommend this apartment, and hope to someday return. Enjoy!

We had a lovely one week stay earlier this month at the Basilica view. It was clean and light and you could not wish for a better view or a more central location to explore all the main tourist attractions on foot. Micelangelo arranged for a taxi to meet us at the airport and he is available 24/7 if you have any queries or problems. Happily, we didn’t. The apartment has good air conditioning (which we definitely needed as we stayed during a heatwave) and has a well equipped kitchen too. Michelangelo will configure the sofa beds as you want them. Our teenage son and daughter slept in separate double sofa beds in the living room, which is huge. We cooked most of our own dinners there as we are a family of four comprising two vegans and two vegetarians. The two bathrooms have skylight windows without blinds and can get very hot. After the second day I improvised a blind with a bath towel and it stayed much cooler. We did find one excellent vegan restaurant which I can highly recommend - the Napfenyes. Not only did it prepare and serve a wonderful range of dishes, it was reasonably priced and had a superb jazz trio playing the second time we went there. My tips. We got good value from the Big Red Bus ticket (given a 3 day family pass for the price of a 2 day by the nice sales guy from Wolverhampton) particularly the two river cruises. The public transport system is cheap, reliable and easy to navigate - make sure you get a family travel pass if there’s more than a couple of you. Don’t even think about hiring a car unless travelling further afield (roads in Budapest are pretty much gridlocked) and only hire Segways if you want to look like that ‘we’re not from here’ scene from Family Guy. We enjoyed the visit to the Memento Park, but it seems to be a Marmite thing in that you will either love it or hate it. Finally, if, like my son, you want to watch a football match be aware that as a foreigner you need to take photo ID to the club first at least 24 hours before the game. We tried to watch FC Ujpest - the only team playing at home that weekend. We took our passports to the ground but found out the match was to be played behind closed doors in any case. The guy at the club didn’t speak much English but said that the fans had been ‘very bad’ at the previous game...

If you want the best view in Budapest, an outstanding location for the Central City, Andrassy Utca, Erzsebetvaros, Terezvaros, and Josefvaros, then you could not choose a better apartment than this. The views of the Basilica, Castle View, and Gellert Hill are spectacular. The apartment is furnished with sturdy pre world war one antiques. The apartment is within easy walking distance of Budapest Nightlife, but is completely quiet.

This time we went to Budapest with our kids age under 4 and nanny. The locations of the flat is great - you can walk everywhere you want- no need to take metro even with small kids. The view of Basilica from the window is simply beautiful. Apartment was very clean and well taken care of. I really enjoyed great coffee from one of Krups coffee expresso makers. Lift is fast and ok. Building also clean. Noise from the street did not bather us much. Contact with the owner was very easy and nice. I really advise this flat - it is rather rare in Budapest to get such a good service! regards, Iweta&Vas

The flat is very spacious and offers a superb view of the basilica, the town and also the castle in the background. It's equipped with a large number of facilities (washing machine, hairdryer, towels...) so that you don't have to carry them, which is appreciable. Finally, the flat is very well situated : near to the Jewish neighborhood with lots of bars, close to Andrassy utca and other shopping street and just behind the basilica.

It was seven amazing days in beautiful city. One of the reason why our stay was memorable is because we had perfect apartment in center of the city with amazing view on famous Szent Istvan Bazilika and the Buda Castle. Beside this fantastic window view, apartment was very clean, with lot of space, the furniture is antique and rooms are cosy. Michelangelo, the owner of the unit, and his friend and contact person Peter were amazing hosts, very friendly and willing to help us. Location is great because you can reach every important street of the city. Lot of good bars are very close to the apartment but most important is that Szimpla pub is very near so you don't need any public transport. I definitely recommend this apartment for anyone who is going to visit Budapest.

The apartment is perfectly placed to visit Budapest. Opposite St Stephen's Basilica it has a fantastic view of the city over to the Castle as it is on the top floor (with an elevator). Inside it is well laid out, very clean & thought has been put in to providing little touches that make a stay comfortable - the Krups coffee machine was particularly welcome! We are especially grateful to Michelangelo as he managed to fit us in at short notice & responded to emails quickly. We definitely recommend this apartment & while we stayed for a long weekend it would also be comfortable for a long stay.

Simple attic apartment (though with elevator so no worry about stairs) in the center of Budapest. Located 1/2 block from the Metro, across the street from the Basilica and 5 minute or less walk to all of the major tourist attractions on the Pest side (and an easy walk to the things on the Buda side of the Danube). View from the rooms over to the Basilica. Location could not be better. Plenty of space for the two of us. Easily would accommodate 4-6 people. Apartment is clean and simple. Has two full bathrooms (though one is a bit of tight squeeze to shower because of the angle of the roof - attic apartment). Kitchen functional and while we didn't choose to cook their are any necessary pots and pans. Landlord communicates well and has great recommendations for eating options in the neighborhood. He also had useful information about arranging taxi service to and from the airport including how to get a taxi in the early hours of the morning. Would stay in this apartment again and will recommend it to anyone who is traveling to Budapest.

We attended a family wedding at the Bacilica and the apartment was perfectly located across the road for our 7 day stay in the city. We arrived very late at night and we were very kindly let in at 1am in the morning. The apartment was clean and well stocked with linen. The building was close to everything with good restaurants, convenience stores and atm's close at hand. We organised a late checkout which helped us to maximise our time in the city. The view from the window was beautiful and we would highly recommend this as a place to stay in beautiful Budapest. Washing machine was very much appreciated and an excellent refrigerator and dishwasher made life easier. Building was secure and easy to find.

Our family (2 adults, 4 and 7 year old kids from Canada) spent 5 amazing days at this apartment and in Budapest. The apartment is located in a typical traditional building with an old fashioned elevator, thick walls, nice staircase, a perfect first impression. The apartment is wonderful all around. It has everything you would ever need for a visit, whether staying in and cooking at home more or just using it as a refuge. It is in a superb location, overlooking St Stephen's Basilica and walking distance to almost anything in town but certainly downtown. The apartment is kept in an amazing state, very nicely done. Everything is very spacious, well equipped and in great condition. And the views, oh my goodness, most of our time at the apartment was spent admiring them day and night. The kitchen is fully equipped (stove, dishwasher, washer, fridge, microwave) and has seating for 4, with all the dishes and basic essentials you may want to have. The two bathrooms are great to have and are nicely finished. The bedroom and living room are both very spacious, beautifully furnished and decorated. The beds and sofa beds are spacious, especially the one in the living room which we all slept in one afternoon, and linen provided is ample. Air conditioning and wireless Internet connection work well and are great additions to everything else. Our host was always helpful and prompt to respond to any questions or concerns we may have had. They provided a lot of useful information for our stay. I really can not say enough good things about this apartment just that we wish we could have stayed longer and we know where we are staying next time we visit Budapest.

Found this apartment online and it turned out to be very nice. Furnished in beautiful antiques and plenty of room for more than 2 people. Great location opposite St. Istvans Cathedral. Great views from the windows as it was on the top floor. Also, lovely little restaurant on the bottom floor of the building. Location was convenient to all the major sites and the metro was very nearby to get to sites that were farther away. Hop On, Hop Off bus stop right across the street so that was great too. Enjoyed my stay very much. Would be nice if there had been one regular guidebook in the apartment. Had my smartphone that worked well in the apartment but not so great on the street. Went to tourist office to get more information. All in all, a great stay in a beautiful city for a very reasonable price. Michelangelo was very responsive to all emails and calls.

The owner of this unit was extremely easy to work with throughout the entire process of booking the apartment. The pictures on the site are very accurate. The bedroom is quite large and the bed is extremely comfortable. We have two teenage daughters so it was great having two full bathrooms (two showers). The other bedroom/living room is also quite spacious and the beds are large (queen size) and comfortable. There is a door to close off this room which was nice so we didn't wake the girls in the morning. This room looks directly onto St. Stephen's Cathedral and the view is quite impressive. The kitchen is small for cooking large meals, but for us it was perfect because we only had breakfast in the apartment as there are so many good restaurants in Budapest that we found we didn't need or want to cook. (besides, who comes that far to spend all their time in the kitchen?!) The location is ideal; very close to the subway (which was clean, fast and convenient), a small supermarket and delicious restaurants are right downstairs and more within a short walk away. You can walk everywhere in Budapest from this apartment, and we loved that convenience. We would definitely stay here again, and we have no hesitations in recommending this apartment!

Either the flat and the host did exceed my expectations. The panorama from flat is amazing, I really enjoyed even just to sit and stare outside. The building is located right the middle of the centre, the neighborhood is safe and every touristic attraction or nightlife spot is walking distance. I felt at home since the place is well equipped (kitchen stuff and everything else) an clean. The host, Michelangelo, was very helpful with hints about the city and letting me have the keys of the flat even if I arrived late. We just spend a fantastic week back in Budapest at the Basilica Attic - what a view! The Basilica literally right outside our living room window and the Budapest Eye outside our bedroom window. The area was safe and we could walk to almost everything or hop on the subway steps away from the apartment. The apartment was in fabulous condition. This is our 5th time renting an apartment in Europe on Trip Advisor. All the rentals have worked out great. Our host Michelangelo was fantastic. He reached out to us ahead of time to offer to help with airport transfers, met us at the property and explained everything including giving us great tips on where to go and where to eat - we used most of them and they were bang on. He followed up after a day to make sure we were doing well, texted us our departure info a day in advance and sent a nice thank you note after we departed. If we are in Budapest again we will for sure try to rent this apartment again.
