Pijpeweg is almost on the countryside. It is one of the farthest streets of Brugge, lined with upscale single family homes. Next to the house there are open fields and farmhouses, and you can hear the farm animals at a small distance. The center of Brugge is only 4-5 kms away. For grocery shopping there are few good stores within 1-2 km radius. A car is quite necessary to stay in a location like this. The area is really beautiful. The house looks like an old farmhouse to which some expansions have been built later, with a good taste. The lawn on the backyard is huge, almost the size of a football field. The garden is lovely with shrubs, flowers, vines and pear trees. There is also a secluded patio with a large table and a barbeque grill. The house has ample living areas on the ground floor. The area where the dinner table is, has also a bar desk, which takes up some space. The bar is not useful for a family stay, but I guess will be very handy for having a party. The kitchen is modern and fully equipped for preparing and serving meals. Upstairs there are two bedrooms, one in each end of the house. The third bedroom is adjoining another bedroom and is good for children or teens, as it has less privacy. All spaces and furniture were in excellent shape, everything looked almost new. We were impressed how well the house was equipped. There was a TV, a music system with a selection of CDs, books in the bookshelf, washing machine, even a box of toys for children. It felt like staying in a home rather than in a vacation rental. The surrounding area is fabulous for biking. Pijpeweg extends to another road that leads straight to Damme. The network of small country roads have little traffic, and it's relaxing to pedal along the canals and in the middle of cornfields, passing by farmhouses. The landlady arranged rental bikes for a small extra cost. It was convenient to get the bikes delivered to the house instead of trying to find a good bike rental by ourselves. The rent did not include bed linen, which we paid in cash together with a 250€ deposit when we arrived. We received a receipt for the cash payment. The rental agreement was professionally and clearly formulated, and the deposit was returned in a day after our departure. Everything worked really well with the landlady. We had a very nice stay in Brugge.

My time in this cottage was entirely too short. I have rented several apartments, houses, and cottages thru the years. This is by far my favorite. The house is a perfect mix of the modern conveniences, without losing the wonderful character of an old house. The layout is perfect for relaxing in the evening with friends after a day of site-seeing. Els made sure that everything you need is readily available. Her attention to detail in design, function and hospitality are to be commended. She even arranged rental bikes that were waiting for us on arrival although we had booked on a very short notice. I hope to book another stay VERY soon! Thanks again for the amazing stay that was truly too short.

Spent a super relaxing week at this beautiful cottage during August. The owner Els is so helpful and friendly, always there if you need her. The cottage and the surrounding area is a perfect base for a chilled out holiday. The property was well equipped with everything you need when on self catering. High spec modern kitchen. The beds and linen were comfortable and good quality. Our little girl loved that her bedroom was accessed across a bridge above the dining area! The photos on the website do not truly show how large this cottage actually is. The garden alone is like a football pitch size! I adored the views early morning as the mist drifted over the back garden, then when the sun rose it was breathtaking, The owner advertises this cottage as a venue for parties too, i think its perfect for a wedding reception, a marquee would be fabulous in the perfectly manicured garden, it really is that beautiful and private! We all thoroughly enjoyed our week in Pijpeweg71 and can highly recommend it. Bruges is beautiful and the locals were all so friendly too. Thank you Els to you and your lovely family, for sharing your holiday home with us and for your kindness.

Really nice location in a quiet neighbourhood right on the eastern edge of Bruges. Very easy to get into the centre of Bruges or use this as a base to explore Flanders more widely. The house is very comfortable and finished to a high standard. Just one piece of guidance. Because one of the bedrooms is accessible only via a walkway above the dining area, I would not recommend this house to anyone bringing very young children. Other than that, it's great.
