We stayed at this house for three nights in December this year. The house is perfect for a large group of adults as we were, with plenty of space, a large dining area and well equipped kitchen. The location is perfect, just a short walk to the centre. We had a wonderful time and would definitely recommend the house. The owners Catherine and Joorst have been very easy to communicate with, and I really liked that the house had a code entry system as keys would have been a nightmare with our large group. The house was warm and comfortable and the Christmas decorations, trees and hats were a lovely touch!
We really had an amazing time in Bruges and the house was a perfect base! Thanks :)

This house was amazing, very spacious bedrooms and the dining room was great for an evening meal get together. A nice quite location within easy walking to Market Square and all that Bruges has to offer.
I booked from Australia for family in the UK there were 9 of us.
The booking process was easy and owners Catherine & Joost very helpful. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property to anyone looking for a great place in Bruges.

We loved the location of the house. So central to EVERYTHING. Dinner around two corners was Ribs 'n Beer. Passage was great and only 10 minutes walk.
We took tours with Quasimodo (who picked us up on the main road within 5 -10 minutes walk). The town centre was close as well as supermarkets, laundry, bakery (which opened at 6.30am). We really didn't use the kitchen as we bought brekkie and ate out for dinner.
Catherine was fantastic to deal with. So easy via email and ask questions. Also having the ability to enter the house without a precise time to meet was great Checking out and getting back the security was easy also. We dropped the luggage off in the house and parked the car in the free parking area (10 minutes walk).
I will mention that the bedrooms and bathrooms were upstairs (which are steep) - but we knew this coming in.
The house was clean, warm and comfy (we also enjoyed the wifi).

We travelled to Bruges by car from the UK as a party of eight, two families of Mum, Dad and two children per family. Parking the car was about a fifteen minute walk away from the property, which as the weather was dry was not a problem. The house was very warm which was most welcome as the weather was literally freezing. The house itself is large with two bathrooms upstairs. You would need to walk through one of the double bedrooms to reach one of them, as a previous reviewer stated, lending itself well for a rental for two families. (not sure if it would be suitable for four couples though)
Joost & Catherine were very helpful and came quickly to our aid when we had a problem using the electric hob. (my fault as I use gas at home)
I have to say that the house could use a massive dose of TLC, the kitchen is very tired with cracked and chipped cups in the cupboard. We found a bag of potatoes in one cupboard which had obviously been there for quite some time. The whole place really needed a deep clean (thank goodness for the dishwasher) and a lick of paint. Having said that, the beds and bedding were clean. Unfortunately we also found mice upstairs, which we had to keep secret from the children or the mini break would have become a micro break!
The house is situated just a short stroll from the centre of Bruges and the Ribs and Beer restaurant is just around the corner (the best ribs I have ever tasted). There is plenty to see and do and we really did love the town.
Sending payment for the house rental was easy and the deposit was returned to us promptly upon our return to the UK. Despite the negatives stated above, we had a lovely time, but probably not return to this property.

The house was lovely, absolutely huge and very comfortable. We were a large group of adults and one toddler. The spacious and comfortable communal areas made it really easy to spend time as a group. The location is perfect - 5mins walk from the square so a really good base. The process of renting the house was very straight forward and the owners extremely helpful, very good value for money and the security deposit was returned quickly after the stay. One thing to note is that the triple bedroom and second bathroom are accessed through another bedroom - this wasn't a problem for us but might be for a different group.

My family and I travelled from Australia to experience a European Christmas and stayed in the house for 2 weeks. There were 6 adults, 3 children and 1 baby. We found the house to be comfortable and large enough for all of us. We had many a home cooked meal and enjoyed sitting around the large dining room table. The owners Catherine and Joost were very helpful and very warm welcoming people. The house is situated very near the centre of Brugge and there is a laundry at just around the corner. This came in very handy at times. If there is one suggestion that I would make is that the kitchen could do with a few renovations but still keep that lovely warm family feel about it. I would recommend the house to large groups. Thank you Catherine and Joost for allowing us to stay.

We hired this place for a girls' weekend away - there were 7 of us.
Catherine, the owner, it very accommodating.
The place is clean and it is in a quiet street. the bedrooms are large and the living room, bathroom and kitchen facilities were great. So much better than staying in a hotel.
I would definitely recommend!

Bruges is a most beautifully preserved medieval city that can only be done justice by exploring on foot.
Catherine's house is in the most perfect position for doing this, right in the heart and just a short stroll from all the major sights. The house is old and adds to the authenticity of the experience, but has been completely renovated internally for extremely comfortable living. It is close to great restaurants, shops and bars, but has the advantage of being in a quiet street with very little traffic.
We are now planning our return visit.
Ps Whilst there, the BBC were starting to film a new 10 part epic costume drama, The White Queen, set in the 15th century and due for showing late 2013: look out for it.

We stayed at Catherine's apartment in Brugge not long ago, and I must say that we were more than satisfied. The apartment is large with lots of room for several people. It's location is on a quiet street within a short walk to the central market. Catherine was a pleasure and was quick to respond when we had questions. I have stayed at many different locations over the past several years, and would place Catherine's apartment as one of the best. Johnny Burks, United States

Myself and 8 other friends, all aged between 30-40 stayed at Catherine's beautiful big house for a weekend to explore Bruges. We could not recommend it more! We all had such a fabulous time, and Catherine could not have been any more accommodating. It was clean, spacious, plenty of wardrobe space, super comfortable beds and excellently located. It has so much character and is a mix match of old and new. It's stylishly decorated too. The 5th bedroom was in the dining room attached to the kitchen with no door which we didn't like so some people shared upstairs. For families; this wouldn't be a problem at all. There a 2 good sized bathrooms both with lovely, hot showers. The stairs are very steep, so it might not be so suitable for somebody with mobility problems but we found them to be fine. All the linen was fresh, and towels were provided too. The bedrooms are all well sized, and the one at the front of the house is huge! Outside there is a seating area that is not overlooked by anyone (the house at the back is derelict). The kitchen was really well equipped and had a lot of the basics in there for us to use. For anything that wasn't there, there is a Carte Fore supermarket a 5-10 minute walk away where we stocked up on milk, eggs, bread etc. Before we arrived I worried that there may not be enough keys for everyone in our party to come and go as they please, but this was not a problem as access to the house is done via a code system into a computer that operates the door. Location wise, it's all pretty much all there on your doorstep! It takes less than 10 minutes to get to the main square where the Belfry Tower is situated, and everything branches off from there really depending on what direction you want to head in. The house itself is situated on a really quiet street. This house is highly recommended, and we will definitely be coming to stay again! We had a brilliant weekend. Thankyou Catherine for your hospitality!

Bruges is a lovely city that is a must see for anyone heading to Belgium or Western Europe. Bruges is elevated because of the wonderful home we stayed in and the very gracious owners. We emailed Catherine the day before to see if it was available and she had responded within an hour. We were able to quickly get everything set up via email and we were in the house mid-day the following afternoon. The house is BEAUTIFUL, huge and very well appointed. It is appropriate for large groups and for children. It is a few minute walk to the main square and right around the corner is the grocer, laundromat, nightshop...RIBS n BEER (great restaurant) We fell in love with this home and extended our trip because of how much fun we were having and how comfortable we all were. I couldn't have imagined having nearly as wonderful an experience if we had stayed in a hotel. Catherine even drove us to a free parking spot and brought us back to the house. It was only a 3 minute walk, but she wanted to make sure I didn't get lost. If you are in Bruges, take advantage of this wonderful home!

The house was exactly as described, clean, tidy, inviting and close to everything. Really appreciated the owners meeting us on arrival, they were friendly and helpful. Like the towels with chocolates beside the bed (nice touch). Also with kids it was nice to have a list of emergency contact numbers on hand (even though we didn't need them) and also the nearest boulangerie, supermarket and doctor. We will definitely stay here again next time we are in Brugge.

I found this house on TripAdvisor and booked it for a week with our four children and various partners. We had a wonderful time. The locations is 10 minutes walk from the city centre and there is a small supermarket and a bakery within 3 minutes walk.
Bruges is a fabulous small city and we ate and drank very well.
Our one small problem was fixed very quickly and did not spoil our holiday. All in all, an excellent spot.

Having found this holiday home on Trip Advisor we were really pleased to discover a comfortable "home" for four days.
The house is in a fantastic location - only 10 minutes walk from the historic part of the city and a decent supermarket just 2 mins around the corner. Even though the house is in the centre of the city, its very quiet and peaceful.
The house is basic but extremely clean, comfortable and fully equipped including a very good Wifi signal. The bedrooms, lounge and dining room are of a decent size. There is also a lovely secluded garden area with seating.
Its a good size house for families and groups of friends (although you do need to go through one of the bedrooms to get to one of the bathrooms). Lots of storage space.
From enquiry stage through to the return of the deposit, Catherine and Joseph have been fantastic to deal with. Prompt with responses, welcoming us on our arrival and giving us lots of information about places to visit and where to eat. They could not have been more helpful.
There is free parking just a few minutes walk away or parking near the city centre for just a few euros per day.
I would recommend anyone to stay here. Its the perfect place to stay to explore Bruges.

We are a group of 7 adults stayed at Catherine's another property in the old town. It's amazingly comfortable and convenient! The apartment is right in the center of two main streets, so we can easily walk anywhere. One thing we are particularly impressed is the lock system. They use access code instead of real key. So we can explore Brugge separately.
Catherine and Joost are very thoughtful and provided a lot of information before we arrived. They also responded quickly to our request. All of us are very happy and satisfied staying at this "home". Highly recommend!

We were a party of 10 including one child and two teenagers and the house met our needs perfectly. The rooms are all a good size and the two bathrooms are fine. It's all a bit old, but there was plenty of hot water and the mixture of fixtures and fittings added to the overall quirky character. Location was fantastic, short walk into the centre. Only downside was the beds being a bit too soft for most of the party.

This was a really good find for our party of 10 - three couples, one single adult, two teenage girls and one boy under 12. We were close to the city centre and walked everywhere we went sightseeing in the city. We also found great shops and restaurants within easy walking distance. The house is old (what else would you expect in the centre of Bruges?) and has lovely character and quirkiness. We had a couple of faults occur, but the owners were at the door within 2 minutes of our calling them and they quickly resolved the problems (literally within minutes both times). They also provided an extra single bed at our request so only the couples had to share. We couldn't quite work out the beds available so had to ask, so for information, there is a double room downstairs along with the kitchen, dining room, sitting room and courtyard, the two bathrooms and four further double rooms are on the first floor, one double room and one bathroom are accessed through one of the two largest double rooms. The stairs are steep and there are steps on the ground floor so I wouldn't recommend for anyone who might find this difficult. We would definitely come here again though, in fact we hope to be back next year.

A slightly tired presentation was the only downside of the stay at this close in apartment.
Parking was expected to be an issue but with good instructions was managed.
Some improved walking maps to key services and attractions , and intelligence about opening hours and local customs eg bank holidays would be useful.

We have a number of issues with this property which we will deal with by contacting Trip Adviser directly. As a holiday home it left a lot to be desired. It could do with complete redecoration, wallpaper and floors were looking very tired. The kitchen had not been cleaned properly and we dealt with a lot of grimy corners. The best part was the garden and the house was certainly close to the city centre.
However, the property description which we used described the house as "wheelchair -yes" and this is certainly not the case as both toilets are upstairs, which are steep. There are also lots of thresholds and narrow doors which made life difficult.
As a result I used what was described as bedroom 5, which is actually the second dining area in the photos, and is separated from the kitchen only by a curtain. There is a very uncomfortable futon.
When we brought these issues to the owner, he was very unsympathetic and emailed a description from another website in which both of these issues had been dealt with but that did nothing to help my discomfort.
It would seem that either the owner or Tripadviser is guilty of supplying misleading information and we are extremely unhappy with the situation. We expect more from an organization such as yourselves.

We were provided with a nice home and ample space. The house is very charming and still has some original fixtures from the 1800's. My son and I speculated that the small doors high in the walls were hiding places for people back in time. There are plenty of bedrooms in the house. We were able to walk to most places and were able to rent bikes as well.

Les pièces sont grandes, très calmes, agréables et joliment aménagées. Il y a certes des petits défauts (maison ancienne) mais négligeables de notre point de vue. Petit jardin agréable. 5 bedroom property in central Bruges in a quiet street minutes walk from the market square. Plenty of space for our family of 7. Free parking is available only 1km away...plenty of space to unload your vehicle beside the property before parking. Great wifi, friendly helpful owners and caretaker. There was an issue with the heating system and hot water on our penultimate day which was resolved with 12 hours - can't ask for more. Missed a mark as the fittings in the shower room are a bit dated. Would certainly return!

The location is good.
The amount of space for the price is good.
Keycode entry instead of keys a bonus in large mixed group coming and going with siteseeing.
Layout of house not ideal for young children. eg: no toilet on ground floor and staircase typical of older inner city property.
I think a better description of floor plan on property details would be fairer to potential customers.
General quality of fixtures and fittings very dated and cleanliness of accommodation not of a high standard.
With a bit of investment this property would be a lovely place to stay.
Personally would not book again.

We had 8 travelers - 6 adults and 2 children. 3 of the adults were aged 70+. We stayed 8 days.
The only issue that we encountered was that bedrooms and bathrooms were upstairs, and the oldest of our travelers who had previous knee surgeries, found it challenging. But she managed. Everyone else got around quite nicely.
Having noted that, we found the accommodations to be quite comfortable. The living room had a TV with comfortable chairs, dining room had plenty of space for all 8 of us, kitchen had room to maneuver with sufficient cooking and serving supplies, and the outside chairs and table came in handy for many comfortable talks. Beds were comfortable, and plenty of towels were provided.
Prior to coming, we requested a crib and a gate at the top of the stairs to prevent a 2 year old falling. The owners made sure that on our arrival our request was satisfied.
We had several questions before our trip, and each inquiry was promptly responded to. During our stay, we had several questions and they responded to promptly. The hosts, Joe and Catherine couldn’t have been nicer.
The house was conveniently located. It was a short walk to all of the sites. Grocery and launderette were within easy walking distance.
Overall, all of our guests were very satisfied.
