Our family stayed at Sue's place and truly enjoyed our time there. The property was more than adequate with plenty of space for our large family...even had a table big enough to seat us all. It was very clean, warm and cozy with good internet. We visited Omaha Beach while there and enjoyed stopping in a few French bakeries for some sweet treats. Sue was a wonderful hostess...very patient as we had a major delay in our journey, providing some basic groceries upon arrival and even washing some laundry when the washer malfunctioned. Wish we could have stayed longer. Tell the "black sheep" we said "Hello!" :)

Had a lovely stay here. Big house, nice dinign room, fully-functioning kitchen and good bedrooms. Handy for lots of places: we visited St Malo, Mont St Michel, Caen, Bayeux, the D Day beaches and the Suisse Normand.
Nothing was too much trouble for the hosts. Would happily recommend.

We were four bikers who used the gite as a base to tour Normandy and Brittany. It was warm welcoming and secure. Everything we could have wished for. Sue the owner could not have been more helpful. The roads around this part of Normandy are real biker country and I would recommend this gite to anyone touring this area. Mortain the nearest town has good bars and restaurants, it is also well worth a visit as we did to walk the trail provided by the local tourist centre. Book you will not be disappointed.

Lovely house and setting. Very well equipped with plenty.of seating and kitchenware. Very clean and welcoming and Sue and Anthony are very helpful and good company. Nothing was too much trouble. Pool table was a great success and our grandson aged 4 loved playing with the toys at the house and with the owners little boy. Garden is very nice and we enjoyed feeding the donkeys, goats and horses. Nothing not to like. Thank you both again. Wendy & family

What a fabulous time we had here!
La Ransonniere De Bas is a credit to Sue, the owner.
It`s a real home from home, every need has been taken into consideration and we wanted for nothing.
A very peaceful setting, I loved sitting out in the morning taking in the surrounding beauty whilst enjoying a cup of tea.
There is plenty to see and do in the area, we had lots to keep us occupied throughout our two week stay!
I travelled with my husband and teenage sons and they all loved the added bonus of the pool table in the Gite!
Sue was more than helpful and if there was anything you needed to know she would be there to help more like a friend.
we had such a good time that it was hard to leave and hopefully we will return.

On arrival we had a kind welcome from Sue. The accommodation was everything we wished for and more. All rooms were immaculate and well presented. The kitchen was more than equipped which amazed us as everything we went to find that we needed was there... a big ask for a family of seven and we love to cook too!
We explored many places during our stay so we found Mortain a great place to be. Our stay was for two weeks and we hadn't covered all we could have.
Through our holiday Sue couldn't have been kinder, a perfect host who is there if you needed her beyond her call of duty.
This is a special place we will remember always. A great holiday. Thank you to Sue and her family.

Thanks again for your hospitality, kind attitude and attention to our group!
We stayed at La Ransonniere de Bas for one month mid June – mid July, 2013. We just loved the place! The house is great, very clean, spacious, comfortable for accommodating our group of six people, three adults and three teenagers. We all enjoyed our bicycle rides around local fields, playing badminton and various games at the lawn and feeding your sweet animals! The location of the house is perfect for visiting beautiful and picturesque places both in Normandy and Brittany. We traveled a lot and our favorites are Fouger, Deauville, Dinan, St Malo and St Michel, of cause.
So we liked everything about our stay in Normandy and we wish Susan and her family all the best!

A group of four of us stayed at this cottage for 4 nights and found it a really wonderful place to stay. It was spotlessly clean on our arrival and the very friendly host had provided fresh bread, cheese and milk for us too which was very kind. The bedrooms are all well laid out, well furnished and comfortable with 2 good bathrooms and a very large living room. There was a good Wi-Fi signal and we also made use of the TV, DVD and pool table. The location is easy to find and the nearby town of Mortain had some really good restaurants to try. Overall a really good holiday and would definitely recommend to others.

A wonderful gite suitable for young children with everything supplied with cots, high chairs and stair gates. Anthony and Sue were so helpful and caring. Good central area for visiting Mont San Michelle local villages and towns and beaches. For cyclists and walkers a nearby track goes for miles in either direction. Our family had a wonderful holiday here and I would recommend it to everybody.

The accommodation has space to spare inside and out, with Sue as your host who is a Massive animal lover, is very Friendly and helpful in equal measure.
The accommodation is Rural but the village of Mortain is only 10 mins away by car has a Carrefour and an Aldi Store.
There is a little country walk from the main Car park adjacent the camp site in Mortain which takes you passed the Cascades waterfalls which are lovely.
The House sits adjacent to the cycle/walking paths which are great on sunny afternoon for a jaunt into the countryside, Sue also had a number of Mountain bikes we could use whilst staying there.
Top places to visit in easy driving distance are Mont Saint Michel, Bayeaux (the town and the Tapistry), St Malo , Cancale (for Mussels/Oysters) and Ange Michel -
a theme park, all are worth a visit.

We enjoyed an excellent week staying at La Ransonniere de Bas.
Sue and Anthony were excellent hosts and the accommodation itself was very clean, comfortable and well equipped.
The lovely garden was ideal for sitting in evening and enjoying a glass of wine following a busy day exploring the local area. The accommodation is situated in a quiet and tranquil area and great for endless miles of walking or cycling along the old railway, just google Veloscenic cycle route.
We visited the beach at Genets and Mont saint-Michel, well worth visiting along with Domfort.
A number of shops are situated nearby for getting in food, fuel etc.
Overall a fantastic stay, and many thanks to Sue for making us so very welcome once again, will defiantly be back for another holiday.
