Stayed at the Gracemir for a week- not long enough! Communication with owners was very easy. Prop manager handled any issues that came up. House was immaculate and you had everything you needed. We had 2 children and another couple with us- enough space for all! You can walk to the beach or drive and explore- every beach was fantastic! You can walk to town as well. I would rent here again next time in a heartbeat!

My family and I had a wonderful time at Gracemir. The communication with the owners and the Real Estate Management company was helpful, informative and easy. The house was fully stocked, the Vonage phone and amenities were great. Location is an easy access to the gorgeous Grace Bay Beach and town.
We all agreed we would definitely return!

Wonderful villa, great location. Walk to the beach, restaurants & shopping. Had a car which made getting around easier.
Nice decor, lots of tile, light colors & island art. Everything promised was provided. Modern appliances & flat screen Tv's make you feel right at home. Nice full kitchen.
Internet hookup problem. Called villa owner & someone came over within 1 hr, Amazing for "island time". Problem with laptop not villa connection. Nice to know that you can directly contact the owner if there is a problem & it will be fixed.
Nice clean pool & hot tub. Morning snorkeling + lunch + sun bathing with dips in pool = a good tan!
Fantastic patio. Will warn you about evening insects, a common island problem. Just spray some "Off".
Walk to Coco bistro, Coyoba & others. Exceptional food & amazing atmosphere. Expensive but the quality can't be beat. Do the Conch Raviolli at Coco & Mahi with beure blanc & capers at Coyoba. Can't do both? Do Coyoba.
Can walk to the beach but drive down to Turtle Cove & snorkel at Smith's Reef (fewer people). Check a map. Follow these steps to see a variety of fish (barracuda & sting rays)don't & see just sea grass. At beach turn right, walk until you see 2 white cement posts on right. Enter water & swim out about 50 yards.
Your stuff is "generally" safe. I brought a zip lock bag & put in drivers licence, cash & car key. Burried in sand near towel & bag. Again, never had a problem but you never know.
Villa is safe. All doors lock & there are plenty of outdoor/patio lights. Also a safe in the bathroom. Owner is from Canada but there is a local handyman who can assist you. He met me at the villa & gave me the "walk thru". Nice guy.
Wonderful week. Villa was quiet yet close enough to Grace Bay activities that you do not feel isolated. It was so clean upon arrival that I left it just as clean. Already planning 2nd trip to Gracemir!

I spent a week at the house and found everything that I needed. The house was clean and well stocked. I enjoyed that I could walk to the shops in the morning, grab my coffee and pastry and then spend time relaxing at the beach. The house is within walking distance to some great restaurants.

This is the 4th time in the TCI and first time at this property.
Previously we stayed at beach front resorts (difficult to book during high season - two bedroom suites) but the cost was very much higher. This time we decided to stay near the beach rather than on the beach and save the cash for another visit to the island.
Arrived at the airport and the pre -arranged rental car was ready to go. On exit, we just left the car at the airport for them to pick up.
Time to arrive at house less than 10 minutes - watch out for the traffic circles and the fact that they drive on the opposite site of the road like in England.
On the way to the property, pay attention as you pass the grace bay tourist area, there are many good restaurants along the way. There are also many beach accesses along this stretch and in general visitors are welcome at the hotel and condo restaurants that are located on the beach.
The house is large, open and clean with nice landscaping and all amenities of home including Tv's, Barbecue, Wifi internet and telephone for toll free us and Canada calls. It appears that the house has been totally renovated recently. The house is accessed using a digital code so no need to obtain/return any keys.
The house is located close to Grace bay tourist district and one can walk to restaurants, stores, and the beach if you really want to (about 3 to 4 blocks) but a car is useful for the stay since there is more to see on the island than just the Grace bay area. The island activities include horse back riding, reef snorkeling, submarine reef tours, water sports, helicopter tours, scuba diving, fishing (for fish and conch) and casino. There is quite a variety of open access beaches but the access signs are hard to see so it is best to get a map.
In all if you want to stay at a nice place that is very reasonably priced and close to everything this property is very good.
Likes-central location, reasonable price
Dislikes - Not directly on beach

My stay here was wonderful. The house is located in a picturesque and quiet setting. I enjoyed walking to the beach each morning; stopping at the bakery for coffee on the way back. Afternoons were spent doing a little swimming in the blue ocean and lounging on the beach. Shops were close by and evenings were spent dining at gourmet restaurants that are within walking distance.

Located only a few minutes walk from the beach, and while we had a car, you can also walk to the large food store, french bakery, and many gift shops just to the west. About a 15 minute drive from the airport, just off the main carrageway.
The house has two private bedrooms, each with their own full bathrooms, and front/back doors. The main centre room has kitchen and living room with a third bathroom. This room can also be used for sleeping. Came with high speed cable internet, a vonage telephone connect for calling back to Canada (and US), plus a local phone line. There was three modern TV sets, with HD cable boxes, and internet connect box for netflix etc. The kitchen was well equipped, a very new looking Weber BBQ on the back patio made for some excellent grilled dinners. There is a small pool and hot tub in the back for thoses who don't want to spend all day at the beach. The gardens are great, and the gardener/property manager is there to deal with problems. Easy to find if coming by taxi, just tell them it is right near the Coco Bistro. Loved it, looking for to going there again.

Gracemir House is a beautiful, well kept rental home close to all amenities. The house is fully stocked with clean linen, towels, beach accessories, bikes, and pool toys. The kitchen and living room are very inviting and the bedrooms are huge with space for many people. We love the decor and homey feel to the house and yard. The pool and hot tub are a bonus. The front garden is perfect for morning coffee and after beach relaxing.

This was a great stay in a private vacation rental. We were met on the day of arrival and shown around by the property caretaker and the owner was easily available if there were any questions. Digital locks make it easy!
The house is very well maintained and was remarkably great shape after the hurricanes. We were a group of five with plenty of room, 4 queen size beds, no pullouts which my teens appreciated., there are 4 bicycles, popup sun shelters and chairs and coolers for the beach. I loved that it was easy to walk to the beach and a couple of restaurants, but I would still recommend a car, the beach is over 14 miles long an there are many great restaurants and spots to snorkel. the road is paved and is in a quiet neighbourhood. The pool and hot tub were a bonus, all to ourselves.
This property is very clean, well stocked with amenities,a Vonage phone for North-american calls made it convenient to keep in touch with home. a washer/dryer is handy as we didn't have to pack as much.Tina and Chris made some great recommendations for activities and great restaurants and we will have to return to try some more. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and the owners were great to deal with. Be confident is choosing this rental. We will be back.

It is really tough to come home to this Canadian deep-freeze after our exceptional Christmas vacation! We absolutely fell in love with Turks and Caicos and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Gracemir House. It had everything we could have asked for and more. We were especially appreciative of the peace and quiet of this lovely neighbourhood and its close proximity to the most glorious beach on the planet (not an exaggeration!) and the quaint downtown. We would highly recommend renting a car and driving this wonderful little island - our favourite stops were Bugaloo's Beach Bar (enjoy your dinner IN the ocean) and Da Conch Shack. Can’t wait to get back to Gracemir House next year!!

For Gracemir House, location is everything. It is located on a residential road behind the Coco Bistro. This makes it convenient to walk to the beach (one of the nicest stretches of Grace Bay Beach), town (to visit the grocery store, Caicos Bakery and plenty of dinner restaurants) and several resorts with excellent lunch options (we liked Infiniti Restaurant at the Grace Bay Club and Pelican Bay at the Royal West Indies). The house is spacious with two large bedrooms, three bathrooms and an open-plan kitchen, dining area and living area. The kitchen is well-equipped, really only missing a dishwasher. We liked that it had a Keurig and a refrigerator large enough to store all of our bottled water, soda and beer. The house also has air conditioning, a real plus when coming back from the beach after your hot and sweaty 10 minute walk. There is an outdoor hose to wash off sand but not an outdoor shower. There are two nice outdoor sitting areas to take advantage of the privacy the lot and blooming tropical foliage provides. The house also has everything you could need for a week at the beach – beach chairs, beach shades, a beach umbrella, pool noodles and even bikes if walking is too tiring. There was also a small pool and hot tub, neither did we use.
Unfortunately, during our weeklong stay at Gracemir, we had several issues that came up. First, there was NEVER any hot water and only two days with warm water. The owner had various reasons why this was the case, but the bottom line was that we only had warm showers twice during the week. It is not fun to wash sand out of your hair in freezing cold water! Not to mention, are your dishes really getting clean in icy cold water? If it was just no hot water, that would have been one thing, but for 24 hours we had no water at all. On vacation, we don’t want to be filling up buckets with pool water and flushing the toilets that way. Not to mention, we couldn’t wash dishes or our hands, so we used a lot of Wet Wipes. There was apparently a mix up with the billing and the owner’s water account was marked as not paid. The house did have a backup pump to provide the house with water in the event of a water outage, but the pump was broken. The plumber who came to the house to look at the pump said it wasn’t set up correctly. Then once the water was finally turned back on, a pipe burst and we came home from the beach to find the water had been turned off again, so the pipe could be repaired. UGH!
Another problem we encountered was no trash pick up the entire week we were there. That wouldn’t have been such an issue, but the trash from the people the week before us (and probably the week before them) had the bins filled to overflowing. There was no room for us to add our trash. We ended filling a spare bathroom with our recycling.
Another problem was the many bugs we had to deal with. It was particularly gross in the kitchen. We knew it was the tropics and we should expect some bugs, but this was more than we had anticipated. We have rented houses in Hawaii and another house in Provo, yet this was the only house with a bug problem. We had to keep all of our bathroom things in drawers because if left on the counter, they would be crawling with bugs. There were also large caterpillars crawling all around the floors. One died on top of the stove, so we can home one day to find the stove covered in hundreds of bugs. It’s a good thing we did no cooking in the house.
One other problem was the television situation. We were looking forward to watching the Olympics every night, but there was no cable tv (even though it was advertised to have it). The owner said she had recently cancelled cable due to the poor quality of service. The Blu Ray player wouldn’t work because the correct remote wasn’t available. We were able to get Netflix on the main tv, but never got either of the bedroom tvs to work.
Finally, the checkout process was very awkward. Earlier in the week, we had told the owner that we would be leaving at 10:30am. She was happy with that and check out time was listed at 12:30pm. On the morning we were checking out, we got an e-mail that said the cleaning woman would arrive around 9:00am to start the laundry. That would have been bad enough, but she arrived at 8:30am while we were still in the shower and began cleaning the kitchen. Once we came into the living room, she did move on to laundry and outdoor things like sweeping, but we couldn’t use the kitchen for breakfast since it had already been cleaned. After finishing up the outdoor chores, she came back inside, and we were definitely in her way even though we had 2 hours until checkout. Her little boy was also running all over the house, and we had to keep moving our things so she could clean the bedrooms, and it was very inconvenient for us as we were trying to pack. Had we known this ahead of time, we would have packed the night before and gone out for breakfast!
Any of the problems I listed would have been an inconvenience while on vacation, yet the sheer number of problems would make me hesitate to ever recommend this house to someone else. It’s in the absolute PERFECT location, and it’s a very peaceful and quiet spot, but we were displeased with many things. The owner did refund us one night’s stay, but frankly with that many problems I would have expected better restitution. This house had been listed on the VRBO site with little complaints (terrible towels and bed mattresses which is completely true) but not a word about hot water or bugs, so maybe we really did just get an unusual week. However, we’re not risking going back there again …. Even though it’s just a minute walk to our favorite Coco Bistro!

Location, location, location! We love that Gracemir is within walking distance to the beach, grocery store, shopping and many restaurants.
This was our second visit to Gracemir, this time travelling with 2 other couples. We found the house to be perfectly set up for 3 couples. There are 2 extra large bedrooms and a very comfortable Murphy bed in the central kitchen/dining/living room area. Each couple had their own space and full washroom, which was greatly appreciated.
We enjoy preparing most of our meals at home so made full use of the well-stocked kitchen. We shopped at both of the IGA grocery stores on the island. The occasional lunch or dinner out was always delicious. We ate at the Conch Shack, Shark Bites (drive to’s) and Bella Luna (walk or drive to). We opted to rent a car this visit so we would have the ability to explore the island a little more.
The internet went down one morning and we were very impressed with how hard the owner worked with the internet provider to get it back up and running in short order.
You really only need to pack your bag and camera to visit Gracemir. It was so nice to have beach chairs, sun huts, snorkeling equipment and 4 bicycles available to us at the house. There are also both terry and microfiber beach towels.
Grace Bay has the most beautiful beach. The sand is like flour, soft and cool under foot. The ocean is truly turquoise you have to see it to believe it!

Gracemir was a wonderful base for our family vacation, allowing us to explore and follow a schedule that best suited our family. It's a lovely and well equipped home with everthing necessary for a relaxing and idependent stay. We were able to walk, cycle or drive easily from this location. The deck was perfect for my early morning coffee and reading after a quick bike ride for fresh croissants. The space and internet access allowed both our children to keep up with group project work while we avoided the heat of the day. The garden (wtih butterflies, lizards, birds) is beautiful and the pool provides a cooling and private alternative to the beach. I enjoy cooking as able to do so happily and easily.
Katrina was especially helpful in providing information and being available to answer any questions that came up.
I would definitely return to Gracemir! Loved it.

My husband and I travelled down to The Turks & Caicos for the first time this April. What a celebration of his 50th birthday, he did not even know he was going to the Carribean until the day of travel! ;) Gracemir provided all we needed and so much more. Fabulous time. As a regular traveler to interesting destinations in hot climates, relaxing into a home and new place requires flexibility for cooking, amenities close by, and clean accommodations with helpful people. This destination met this every part of our trip. Lots of space (sometimes I could not find my husband - he was always found soaking in the warm pool), kitchen stocked with utensils which we used to keep costs reasonable, lots of towels, and helpful staff when needed. Great place, economical way to spend a period of time in the most beautiful island in the Carribean and the #1 beach in the world. Thank you and we will be back again...next year with more friends! PS..the flowers and grounds are kept so well, the Boganvilla of so many colours and palm trees over the pool area create such a nice privacy to the pool area and surroundings. Really pretty!
