Luxury classic apt with balcony in best location
Location, location, location! Short walk to the Basilica, Parliament and the Chain Bridge. Great amenities close by, including a variety of restaurants, wine-bars, coffee shops, a French-style boulangerie and a handy supermarket just across the street. Ideal for a family or friends travelling together, the apartment is spacious, stylish and luxurious, but also comfortable and homely. The apartment block was built in 1876, and we have preserved all the classical features, such as the original folding window shutters, gorgeous internal doors/panelling and antique brass handles. There is beautiful parquet flooring throughout and high ceilings adding to the sense of space. Sympathetic to the classical charm of the apartment we strive to provide every modern convenience too. The bathrooms are designer luxury, with large walk-in showers and Philipe Starck taps. Even the loo seat is heated! The large open living, kitchen and dining area is great social space for friends or family to be together. The kitchen is modern and well-equipped and the dining table has space for 6 people. There is a large, comfortable sofa with a large-screen TV and DVD player. We provide a limited selection of DVDs for you to watch.
For the warm summer nights, there is air-conditioning in all the main rooms.
There are two balconies, the main one is to the front of the building where it's lovely to sit with your morning coffee or evening aperitif looking out over the surrounding city-scape. The other is a small, courtyard-oriented space off the main living area, designated as a smoking area. Note, the remainder of the apartment is strictly non-smoking.
Typical to Budapest, the impressive building has a large wooden front door opening on to an inner courtyard. The building was recently renovated, with pretty central gardens and a modern glass elevator.
The apartment is easily accessible for a wheelchair, despite being on a high floor.
We aim to make your stay as comfortable as possible, so can arrange airport transfers and help with any advice on the locality. This is our family hideaway in what we think is a wonderful, fascinating, historic, beautiful city. We hope you enjoy it as much as we have.
