A Beautiful Island Home With Stunning Sea Views

The house is a large, 4 bedroom family home incorporating 2 king rooms (one en-suite), a double bedroom and a large room with two single beds. There is the option to convert the ground floor sung into a bedroom to with a double sofa bed which allows the house to accommodate 10.
The grand lounge has a wood burning stove, reading corner and stunning views of the moor, ocean and village.
The dining room has a large, solid wood, 12 seater dining table made from the reclaimed railway sleepers from St. Pancras station when it was renovated to make room for the EuroStar terminal.
The kitchen is large and modern and there is a utility area and internal drying space for clothes or wet walkers/fisherman/adventurers.
The large, gallery hallway, is also a great space to grab a book and read in silence.
All our bedrooms and our dining room and snug are equipped with digital HD televisions.
There is a large bathroom with a walk in shower and slipper bath which also looks out over the ocean and loch.
There is a toilet located on the ground floor as well.
Outside the property there are 4 distinct garden zones. There is the large lawn suitable for a whole host of your own sports adventures or relaxing in the sun and breathing in the refreshing sea air.
There is a fenced area which acts as a sun trap on warm days. It includes a rare example of a Monkey Puzzle tree, our kennels and wood store and the designated smoking area (our property is non-smoking throughout including e-cigarettes).
Then there is our vegetable patch. Here we grow our own potatoes, carrots, herbs and rhubarb. If there is any in season we will see what we can do for you!
Finally there is the old croft. This area, uniquely preserved, has the ruins of old croft buildings that you can explore and also, usually, has a friendly sheep or two that would enjoy a slide of toast in the morning or, their favourite, a donut (plain!).
The house is the perfect place to leapfrog into an amazing island holiday away from the hustle and bustle of life. You will feel the total relaxation and isolation our house offers you.

Have just spent New Year at this wonderful home and had a great time, even if the roaring storms kept us mostly indoors! That was probably the best thing about the home. Even in the wild weather the house was a great vacation and a good escape from everyday life. The house is large and comfortable and certainly cosy. All the rooms are in great condition (and given the house is new onto the market that probably isn’t a surprise). Big bedrooms and a great dining space but overall the lounge, with its woodburner, was the best space (albeit it was so warm outside that we didn’t actually use the woodburner). The outdoor space is expansive and, even in the strong winds we could explore the adjacent croft, which is part of the home, and also take a great walk to an old ruined house along the shore. In fact it took us 5 minutes to walk to the edge of the Atlantic ocean and watch the giant rollers crash onto the bay. The hosts were great and would hope to keep in touch. You keep a great home and it deserves to be experienced by others. Could sit and look at that view forever. Overall great value for money and I would definitely take the family back to experience the island in summer. If I do, I will update my review!

We were a group of 8 including a 5year old and a baby of 4 months (and 2 black labs.). The weather turned out to be near perfect with beautiful sunrises and sunsets. The stunning beaches and changeable landscapes were so beautiful. The accommodation was perfect , spacious, comfortable and was of a high standard. There was plenty to do, including fishing on the Loch Barvas and its river. The week went past so quickly.

We were a group of 7 and we absolutely loved it here. Beautiful rooms with beautiful views of the coast as well as plenty of indoor entertainment, which was really needed because of the weather. It's also only 20 minutes from Stornoway so the shops were easy to get to. Would definitely stay here again if we make our way back to Lewis.

The views from the house are amazing, you can never tire of them. The house is only 12 miles from Stornoway so you never feel too isolated. We return year after year, its our favourite place to go, and the island welcome is what we look forward to the most.

The house is in a stunning location, beautiful view of the loch and the sea, the property has everything you need as if you were in your own home. My grandchildren loved the sheep and the baby lambs at the bottom of the garden and also feeding the neighbour's chickens, very friendly people. We will visit again..

The property is located approx 15 minutes from the main town of Stornoway which is well served with shops and supermarkets. The property itself is in a very quiet location without being remote, has excellent views over the bay. The kitchen is incredibly well equipped, the bathrooms are spotless with excellent shower and bath facilities. The owners have missed nothing when providing the facilities and have been helpful and friendly throughout the booking and arrival/departure process. Check out the Butt of Lewis and Callanais which are only 20 minutes away from the property and the white beaches at Uig which are glorious.
