Berries Coach House

The Coach House is a detached self catering, high quality, very well appointed holiday rental, ideally suited to a wide range of guest requirements, including singles, couples, or even a family of 4 when using the additional double sofa-bed provided. According to many of our delighted and returning guests, the Coach House is exceptionally well positioned, being in a quiet and tranquil setting with excellent views of the Long Mynd, yet only a 10 minute walk to the very center of Church Stretton.
The accommodation comprises a very spacious open plan lounge dining area with a fully fitted country style kitchen. The high vaulted ceilings, dormer windows, and French Juliet balcony with views over the Long Mynd, makes for the most pleasant and relaxing holiday accommodation, from which to enjoy your adventures and excursions around the Shropshire hills.
The double bedroom has a beautiful en suit bathroom with bath, shower & toilet. There is also a separate toilet and sink easily accessible off the entrance hallway. In addition there is a utility area with sink, washing machine, and tumble drier. There is an outside tap & washing point with hose-reel, perfect for cyclists with dirty mountain bikes. Prominently situated overlooking the town of Church Stretton to the West, Berries Coach House is ideally situated for individuals, couples small family's or a small group of friends. The location lies amongst the Shropshire hillsides and the designated area of outstanding natural beauty. The location is ideal as a hub for walkers and cyclists to explore the unspoilt local countryside including the Long Mynd Wenlock edge, or as a base to explore amongst others the mediaeval Historic towns of Shrewsbury and Ludlow and the World Heritage site of Ironbridge and surrounding areas - a world heritage site claiming the birthplace to the industrial revolution and amongst other accolades, the worlds first Ironbridge. I suggest that the property is also highly suited as a retreat to writers and artists alike. Berries coach house is a detached property securely nestled near to the owners residential property yet affording excellent privacy. The property is set in private and beautifully presented grounds with views through the French doors and the Juliette balcony to the town and hillsides of Church Stretton. The property is but an 8 to 10 minute stroll into the town, with excellent amenities, shopping and eateries. The property itself is presented to a tasteful and high standard, with much subtle and thoughtful attention to detail provided by the welcoming owners. I would recommend Berries Coach house as a holiday let without any doubt, excellent. J.

We stayed here whilst doing the Longmynd hike. The accommodation was superb, wanted for nothing, very well fitted out with quality furnishings and equipment. The view from the balcony doors was beautiful, lovely artwork from the owners on the wall and delicious welcome cakes! Very cosy in evenings, with all the mood lighting and the chaise lounge was a hit after all our walking. The owners were so friendly and accommodating and offered to drive us to and from our walk if we so required. Many thanks

This is a great cottage to rent with fantastic views over church stretton and the long mynd. We found this a lovely warm and cosy place to stay but with very good, up to date amenities. Very useful having full washing facilities, and being a walking area, excellent to have a proper entrance hall with space for walking gear. Very welcoming and helpful hosts and we will be staying there again very soon.

Berries coach house is ideally situated towards the end of a small cul de sac, a ten min walk to church stretton with easy access to lots of beautiful walks on the Long Mynd and beyond. Very quiet location, noisiest thing was the birds in the morning. The accommodation is a detached property in the grounds of the owners house, as such Sylvie and Mark provide a warm welcome with fresh flowers, fruit and homemade cakes. The entrance has a good size area for walking boots and coats etc. The main living space is located on the upper floor and the living room has stunning views over the Long Mynd. Watching the sun set from your sofa was a real treat. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils for cooking. The bed and duvet are super soft and comfy. The place was always nice and warm and has plenty of natural light flooding in. Sylvie was able to provide a travel cot, high chair and stair gate which saved us bringing extra items for our 9month old son. We have really enjoyed our weekend away and would definately recommend to friends and family. Judging from the visitor book they attract many repeat visitors and the comments are always glowing. Thanks Sylvie and Mark

We have just returned from a great holiday staying in the Coach House. We were really lucky with good weather and found it relaxing staying in such a lovely place. I agree with all the comments written about the property already. Silvie had a nice kind touch of providing us with fresh cut flowers, fresh bread, cakes and other treats. Church Stretton is a great central base with lots of lovely towns and attractions nearby as well as being an ideal place for walking on a low level or up on the hills. I would definitely recommend this property and Shropshire.

This is a lovely self catering coach house. We arrived to find fresh flowers on the table, milk in the fridge and very tasty cakes on the kitchen side. The house is warm, comfortable, clean and well equipped. I would highly recommend anyone to stay here. Definitely value for money.

Beautiful views over the Long Mynd, very well equipped, with everything that we needed, and just a short stroll to the centre of Church Stretton. It was a shame we were only staying for a couple of nights not long enough in this lovely property.

We had a fantastic long weekend staying in Church Stretton. The accommodation is superb - excellently located, spotlessly clean and very well appointed. We stayed with our six month old daughter and playing with her on the floor in the lounge with the fantastic views of the Long Mynd was a delight. Two recommendations from us for your stay here - visit Ludlow Food Centre which is about 20 min drive away it's fantastic. Secondly go up the Long Mind as the sun is setting - it's beautifully quiet and peaceful. In all a superb weekend.

Berries Coach House is an entrance hall on ground level, with stairs leading to very comfortable and well laid-out first floor accommodation, set in the owners' large, attractive garden. There is a spacious open-plan area including a lounge with two settees, a chaise longue and french windows with a Juliet balcony providing a lovely view of the nearby hills. There is a dining table for four and the kitchen is modern and well-equipped and it was a real treat to have Silvie's home-made bread, cup cakes and strawberry jam waiting for us on arrival, along with a bottle of milk in the fridge. The bedroom is very comfortable with a large bed and good quality cotton bedding. We found the location ideal with a 10 minute walk to Church Stretton, where we found a few interesting shops including a chocolate shop, antiques store and a deli, with weekly food market too. There are hills in all directions and the maps and location information provided makes it easy to plan walks from the front door. There are several interesting places to visit locally, eg Ironbridge, Shrewsbury, Ludlow, the RAF museum and the Stoke potteries a little further afield. A very enjoyable holiday and Sylvie and Mark were very friendly and willing to answer any questions.

From the excellent communication and the welcome pack of freshly baked bread, chocolate cake and fruit, to the well equipped and comfortable lodgings, this is a real find. 10 minutes walk to centre of Church Stretton and its train station. On a slight hill so you do get good views too. Would be first choice for a return visit to Church Stretton

The accommodation was easy to find (or would have been if the main road hadn't been closed due to an accident caused by the heavy snowfall!) The amenities were excellent, everything that you could possibly need was provided. The view of Long Mynd from the apartment was beautiful. D7ue to the severe weather we were unable to drive anywhere during our stay but it was only a short walk to the train station where (even though the service was greatly reduced) we were able to travel north and south of Church Stretton and it was cosy, warm and very comfortable in the apartment when we didn't want to venture out.Mark and Sylvie were very welcoming and provided us with milk, fruit and a very tasty homemade cake. Hopefully we can visit again sometime and explore the area properly.

A lovely well equipped self catering apartment. The open plan living is great with lots of room. The view from the juliette balcony of the sun slipping behind the hills of Long Mynd is fantastic. Very comfy bed and furniture. Good parking. Easily walkable into Church Stretton and lots of great walks to do from the front door. Whilst we didn't need the heating I can imagine it is lovely and warm in colder weather. Plenty of hot water with a fairly efficient shower.

Had a wonderful stay in Berries Coach House in Church Stretton. The location was ideal for a variety of walks, some direct from the doorstep. Also walking distance into town for pubs, restaurants and shops was relatively easy. The accommodation was just perfect and had everything possible to make our stay comfortable. The cake, milk, tea, coffee, strawberries and cereal were lovely touches to make us feel at home. The warm dry weather was a bonus. We would definitely stay again.

The apartment is the upper part of a coach-house. Only one bedroom but it`s surprisingly spacious with all mod-con, constant hot water and immaculately clean. Views of the Long Mynd from the juliet window are magnificent. Owners are on site and invariably kind, helpful and friendly. I have already booked for next year.

Had the pleasure of staying here for a week. Great place to stay, it has everything you need for self catering. It's very comfortable, clean and has wonderful views. It's a 10 minute walk to the village and a couple of minutes more to start walking Long Mynd. The owners were friendly and helpful and very kindly left us a homemade cake for our arrival. We will definitely be returning again. If you don't want to cook there's enough choice locally to eat out. If you want to head to Ludlow or Shrewsbury you can get the train down the road and it's no more than 15 minutes each way. If you're thinking of booking, don't hesitate!!

This is quite simply the best self catering accommodation we have ever stayed in. Silvie and Mark are fantastic friendly hosts and have thought of everything. We arrived late in the evening and were thrilled to find a homemade cake, locally sourced milk, fresh fruit, cereals and fresh flowers! There is so much to do in the area. We were mainly hiking but there are loads of places to visit including the excellent Acton Scott Historic working farm which is well worth going to. Church Stretton has lovely shops and eateries so eating in or out you are well catered for. Silvie is a talented artist and some of her work is displayed in the coach house. We were lucky enough to purchase a lovely painting as a souvenir of our stay. Don't hesitate to book this place - you won't be disappointed!

We stayed for a October half term break to explore the area. So glad we booked Berries Coach house. It has a lovely cosy feel to it, everywhere was immaculately clean and the facilities were excellent. Our toddler and our 6 yr old loved the toys that were provided (so that was a bonus!) and the kitchen was very well equipped. In fact, everything we needed was there and we couldn't fault it. Oh, and the views are fab too! Thank you for a lovely stay :)
