There is also a WC and wash hand basin. The cosy open plan lounge dominated by patio doors with stunning views over open countryside has a small kitchen area at one end which is equipped with all that you will need to whip up a hearty breakfast, an indulgent lunch or a romantic evening meal to eat either at the dining table or outside on your own raised patio where there is seating as well as a small BBQ should you wish to fire it up and cook up some of the wonderful local produce. Where ever you choose to eat the view will be amazing. You have a four ring electric hob, a fridge with small freezer compartment, a combination microwave/fan assisted convection oven/grill, a toaster and kettle and an abundance of utensils. The rest of the room is turned over to relaxation with a comfy sofa which also converts easily to a comfortable double bed, a rocking chair, an electric log burner effect fire, a television with freeview, a DVD player and also free WiFi. There are also books and games supplied. The Hideaway also has oil fired central heating. The patio doors in the lounge supply you with your own access separate to the owners entrance and you can access it by your own path along the side of the annexe. Although you share the garden with the owners they will give you all the privacy. peace and quiet you desire and as the garden is large and the land extends to 9 acres there is plenty of space to lose yourself in. There is a pretty burn that runs directly next to the side access to The Hideaway and through the garden so you can sit on the patio and listen to the relaxing sound of the water running. Many years ago there used to be a water wheel located here.
Situated just a few minutes drive from the pretty village of Tighnabruaich on the stunning Cowal Peninsula of Scotland's west coast it is in an area known as 'Argyll's Secret Coast'. Kilbride Farm is a landmark used to direct people to the most beautiful beach in the area, Ostel Bay, also known as Kilbride Bay. The stunning bay with views over to Arran is just a 15 minute walk away and accessible only on foot from the track which forms part of the boundary of Kilbride Farm. Wander down there to watch the sunset and you will often have the beach completely to yourself.

avatar Relaxing Hideaway
Rating: (4) rate
The location is wonderful for a relaxing break - 15 minutes stroll to a wonderful peaceful sandy beach at Ostell Bay where the only disturbances are the waves and possibly some Highland Cattle! The Hideaway itself is well equipped with a wonderfully comfy king sized bed. The owners were very welcoming and the home baked scones were delicious!!! Dogs are welcome. There are plenty of things to do within an hours drive including Inverary, Benmore Botanical Gardens, Tighnabruaich village, Loch Fyne Deli & Restaurant and The Barn which is five minutes drive and serves delicious cakes :). The Hideaway is perfect for a couple wanting a quiet relaxing stay.

We had a lovely stay in the Hideaway for a week in August with our two dogs. We were all made extrememly welcome by Moris and Annette. They are wonderful hosts and couldnt do enough for us. On a couple of occasions we were treated to some homemade scones which were delicious!!! The location is excellent very quiet and within 20 minute walking distance of a beautiful bay which is well worth a visit. The Portavadie ferry to Tarbert is wihin a short drive and we also used the Colintraive ferry to make a day trip to Bute. The general area surrounding the cottage is beautiful. The cottage itself was very clean and comfortable. Our dogs are quite big and we still had loads of room. We would love to return.

avatar Brilliant Holiday, Brilliant Rental & Brilliant Hosts

My wife and I stayed at the Hideaway 11-18 August 2015 - Super weather and wonderful location for seeing the surrounding beauty of the Cowal Peninsula. Moris & Annette are a lovely caring couple who will go out of their way to help you enjoy your holiday. I would describe the Hideaway as a SNUG - very romantic and homely. All the facilities are there to meet your needs - a giant bed makes for a very comfortable sleep and the bathroom facilities are great. You are about 20 minutes walk away from a FANTASTIC beach called Ostel Bay (or Kilbride Bay) - a sight to behold and enjoy looking across to the stunning Arran mountains. Moris and I share a love of music and we had a guitar jam session into the wee hours and he certainly knows a song or too - this was great FUN! Having said that, PEACE & QUIET prevails at the Hideaway and that is one of its greatest attractions - you come back from your holiday feeling relaxed and refreshed! Thanks to our fine hosts for making our holiday so wonderful - wish them both all the very best. Andrew (& Anne)

The ideal place to get away from it all. Take a short walk to the deserted beach and gaze out at the isle of Arran. the most dog friendly cottage I have ever stayed at. A cosy annex to Killbride Farm cottage with all you need including a warm welcome from Annette and Morris.

avatar Very comfortable cottage in a superb location

The Hideaway is a private and most comfortable place to stay in a superb location, just 15 minutes pleasant walk from one of the most spectacular beaches in Scotland, overlooking the imposing Isle of Arran. The owners are very kind and helpful, the cottage was clean and had all you need for a hassle-free stay. We had the most amazing weather all week and had a fabulous holiday.

avatar A great weekend away.

The Hideway is a comfortable and homely cottage. We were only there for the weekend so didn't do any cooking but looked to be well equipped . A nice little patio too which leads straight off the lounge/kitchen. Annette and Morris are lovely hosts, and very helpful - Don't turn down the home-made scones if offered - a treat you don't want to miss . Dogs are made very welcome . The beach is a nice walk away and worth the stroll for the views.

Clean and very comfortable with all the equipment you require. Take only food and toiletries. The beautiful beach can only be reached by walking and therefore few people know about it. It is like having your own private cove. That and the location is truly breathtaking and relaxing. The holiday was made however by Annette and Morris who are wonderful hosts. Friendly but unobtrusive they made us and our puppy feel very welcome. They operate the Kilbride Farm pop up cafe on certain days and Morris brought us delicious homemade quiche and salad to eat outside on our patio. Annette is a fantastic cook and as Morris is a chef we wish we had taken more advantage of their talents and requested a full evening meal - next time! We could not have chosen better for our first holiday with our cockapoo puppy. She had the run of the garden and made friends with Annette and Morris's dogs. And of course she loved running on the beach and in the sea. It was good not having to worry that she was annoying anyone and that she was safe. We would love to come back.

The location of this property is amazing with a short walk to the stunning beach. We arrived 30 minutes early and asked for access to the fridge as it was a warm day and then were heading to the beach to get out of the way on return we found the place to not have been cleaned properly in particular the bathroom and while disappointing put this down to a simply oversight. On departing I mentioned this and was blamed for arriving early which I found totally unacceptable and this left me with a poor experience. Other things worth noting was the door did not lock (advised it is just tricky) and again we were blamed for arriving early and not being shown this. Also unfortunately there was dog poo from the owners dogs not cleaned up in the garden aswell. We had an enjoyable stay in the cottage as the saying goes you get what you pay for but cleanliness and dog waste is never acceptable.

We enjoyed our evening here so much. A very warm welcome and everything we needed. We explored the near by beach for hours and finished the night at a recommended hotel for dinner. Our hosts were delightful, entertaining and genuine. We would return in a heartbeat!

Lovely location only a 15 minute walk to a beautiful sandy beach with stunning views. The Hideaway is cosy with a touch of luxury in the comfy super king sized bed and large deep bath. Attentive but unobtrusive hosts in Moris and Annette. Very dog friendly. We'll be back. In fact we're booked in again for next month.
