    Master of Light

There’s no place like home… Until you’ve stayed in Master of Light that is. Casual luxury at its finest, it’s Copenhagen at its best. The location is extraordinary – you’re right besides Nyhavn, the city’s most famous postcard motif. And we can’t get over the design. Alexander clearly has a passion for Danish design, with works by Bang \u0026 Olufsen and Hans J. Wegner adorning every corner. There’s also a fantastic rooftop terrace with a nine-person hot tub, sun beds and a lounge arrangement, plus fantastic views of Copenhagen's historic buildings. *The roof terrace is only accessible via stairs *Alexander also offers an extra hot tub package with bathrobes and additional towels at a price of 1500 DKK per day Air ConditioningAmazon PrimeBalcony / Rooftop TerraceBathtubBuzzer / Wireless IntercomCentral HeatingCot / CribDishwasherDryerFireplaceFreezerFridgeHair DryerHome Cinema SetupHot TubIronIroning BoardKettleKitchenLaptop Friendly ...More Details

Right on the bank of Peblinge Lake, this apartment's location is hard to fault. Being this close to water is as idyllic as it sounds – we loved starting our day with a stroll along The Lakes. If you're looking to explore Copenhagen's scenic streets yet still want to be close to all the action in the centre, this is the spot to be – The Round Tower, Rosenborg Castle and the Strøget are less than twenty minutes on foot, while gastronomic delights and cafes await around every corner. We adored the old building, and although the interior is more modern, it's got all the Danish atmosphere you would expect. Everything is decorated in a neutral colour scheme with some vintage French farmhouse touches. The breezy kitchen is well-stocked for cooking, the bedrooms are as comfortable as they are stylish and the bathroom is large and glossy. After a wander around the city, rest weary legs on the squishy sofa and relax with a glass of wine, admiring...More Details

    The Old Coal Crane

The word “wow” came up a few times when we visited this place… A former coal crane located in Nordhavnen (the old industrial harbour area), it’s an incredibly special place that offers an out-of-this-world experience. Set up for pampered living in exceptional surroundings, it consists of three levels of unique luxury. One with your living quarters – the bed is heavenly. Another with a huge meeting room and bathroom – the bathtubs have some of the best views we’ve ever come across. And two terraces – one for enjoying magnificent sunsets, the other tailor-made for sunrises. *The immediate area isn’t the livelist – it’s about a 30 minute metro ride to the centre of the city*The hotel-style kitchenette isn’t meant for cooking up a storm – there’s no oven or hob*Be prepared for a lot of up and down – it’s split across three floors with lots of stairs*The host doesn’t accept children unless they are over thirteen years old*The meeting room a...More Details

    The Art Director

The Art Director is swanky in every way. A 1920s villa, it’s one of those homes that seems to have come straight out of an interior design magazine. Brimming with bright, natural light, it packs marble floors in the bathrooms, a regal staircase, and a mix of modern and classic design furniture. A family home with a capital F, it invites you to spend time with your loved ones – whether that’s in the garden, the home gym, the table tennis room, or the eye-catching dining room. Charlottenlund isn’t quite central Copenhagen (it’s more suburban), but it’s well-connected to the city centre by way of the S-train. *Charlottenlund is not central – you have to take a train to get to the city centre, which takes about twenty-five minutes*It’s a lived-in home – expect to share the home with the hosts’ belongings (toys, toiletries, clothes)*Two out of the three bedrooms are set up for children*If you’re staying for a longer period, the hosts would ...More Details

    The Emerald Scallop

Carefully curated, The Emerald Scallop really reflects the host’s personality. Brimming with characterful details like the wall of art, gold plated walls and plants, it’s full of personality and charm. The bedroom is secluded and quiet with views onto the communal backyard, which is accessible to guests. We can’t get enough of the bathroom – just look at that scallop sink, gold ceiling and emerald seashell floor. Frederiksberg isn't the centre of Copenhagen, but it's a posh neighbourhood with plenty of upscale restaurants and quiet streets. * This second-floor home doesn’t have a lift, so you’ll be climbing the thirty-two steps with your bags* The host isn’t much of a film fanatic – there’s no TV in this home* There’s only one bedroom so guests 3 and 4 would be on a sofa bed in the communal area* One of the bedrooms, belonging to the host’s daughter, isn’t available for guests to use Buzzer / Wireless IntercomCentral HeatingDishwasher...More Details

    Bouquet of Flowers

A flat roomy enough for ten people right in the city centre is pretty much unheard of, so imagine our surprise when we found this gem. With five stylish bedrooms and an amply-sized living area meant for socialising, there's enough space here for a big group to spread out and get comfortable. The kitchen isn't massive – we'd only recommend it for cooking breakfast and other light meals – but we liked the vanity area outside the bathrooms, where you can prep hair and makeup without hogging the loo. There are other touches, too – USB plugs by all the beds, an Apple TV in the living space for at-home movie nights and no single-use plastic. This building has the highest eco-certification (A15) and it's run on renewable energy, so it's as good for the environment as it is stylish. Best of all is the location – Strøget is just around the corner, with restaurants, shops, cafes and bars all right on your doorstep. You're only two minutes away fr...More Details

    Cowboy Poetry

Parts of Cowboy Poetry feel like a British pub (complete with a cool Italian globe bar and leather armchairs), while other parts carry unique references to the 1850s building that the home is located in. Both Masculine and Scandinavian, Cowboy Poetry has a lot to offer, especially in terms of its appealing location in posh Frederiksberg. Even though the home doesn’t have a coherent design aesthetic, it’s clear to see that it’s a treasured home with plenty of character. * Even though this home has a tumble-dryer, it’s currently not working* When we visited, the wi-fi wasn’t as fast as we would like it to be* You can only access the bed via one side* This is a lived-in home, so be prepared to share the space with some of the owner’s belongings* The walls could do with a lick of paint* The bedroom is on the smaller side* Response time from the host can sometimes be a bit longer due to him travelling when he’s renting out his home * There’...More Details

    Parallelogram

Parallelogram is sophisticated in that Scandi chic way that we just love. It elegantly blends wooden furniture, green plants and photos taken by the host himself to form a modern minimalist home with plenty of charm. You are a five-minute walk from Nyhavn and all of its cultural attractions. If you feel like experiencing the city in a different way, you can also sit down on the sunny balcony with a cup of coffee and watch Copenhageners go about their day. * The communal garden is shared between all residents of the building* Both bathrooms are on the smaller side* Guests 7 and 8 would be on a sofa bed in the living room* When we visited, some of the curtain rails were broken – the host is aware of this* There aren't enough seats at the dining table for all guests to sit down and enjoy a meal together at the same time Baby BathBalconyBarbequeBathtubBlack-Out BlindsBuzzer / Wireless IntercomCarbon Monoxide DetectorCentral HeatingChangin...More Details

    Doing Good

This Copenhagen apartment has all the hallmarks of sophisticated design. There’s a sleek black kitchen with trendy copper details, pared-back rooms with moody feature walls and industrial-style windows that bridge the gap between private and communal spaces—they’re even draped with heavy, velvety curtains for moments when you want some privacy. Step out of your front door and straight into the city centre. You’re within touching distance of speciality coffee houses, the pedestrianised Strøget with its endless stream of shops and high-profile kitchens serving cutting-edge dishes. A two-minute walk will take you to the Kongens Have—the manicured lawns are a prime spot for sun worshipers on warm days and the huge flower beds are a glorious sight in the summer months. *This home sleeps nine people – one of them would ideally be a child (due to the small size of the extra bed in the master bedroom)*A cot and a high chair can be provided upo...More Details

    A Baronial Touch

With a modern but cosy design, A Baronial Touch is a relaxing home in the busy heart of Copenhagen. The location is incredibly central – the Round Tower is right around the corner, and Strøget (Copenhagen’s main shopping street) is a few minutes’ walk away. We loved the bright, tiled bathroom and the smoked glass lamps in the communal areas. Though the seating capacity isn’t very generous – and the single bathroom could be a problem for bigger groups – this is certainly a comfortable place to come back to after a long day. *The apartment isn't very spacious, so it can feel cramped if you're using the sofa bed in the living room *There's only one bathroom, which could be a problem at full capacity*It's on the ground floor so some noise from the neighbours passing through is inevitable*As it's on the ground floor the natural light isn't optimal* This listing represents several apartments – we can't say which you'll get, but they are al...More Details

    Technicolour Voyage

It’s hard to put a home like Technicolour Voyage into words – it simply needs to be experienced. Brimming with all kinds of art from international artists as well as some of the host’s own works, walking around this home is a dynamic experience filled with excitement, tactility, liveable and interactive pieces of art. This home is experimental to its bone, and it directly calls into question what art is. If you’re a curious soul with an eye for art, we’re sure you’ll feel right at home at Technicolour Voyage, and perhaps you’ll even spark up a conversation or two. * There aren’t any black-out blinds in the master bedroom – if you’re a light sleeper, you should look elsewhere* It’s a lived-in home with plenty of character, so expect to share the space with many of the host’s belongings from clothes to interactive artworks* Some of the furniture is worn and has some stains* Bedroom two is located on a loft - it's not suited for children ...More Details

    Timber House

This truly unique home is set over three floors with high ceilings, exposed beams and classically Danish design elements throughout. First built in 1755, it's been transformed into an incredible space that perfectly suits modern living. Brilliantly located in an area buzzing with activity, the building helps to block any noise from the outside world – providing you with the best of both worlds. You enter the home through a little courtyard to find the first couple of floors taken up by well-appointed bedrooms with soothing neutral colour palettes that help you drift off at the end of the day. However, it's the open-plan top floor that is the undoubted star of the show. It's an ideal space for socialising as you hang out by the kitchen counter and relax in the chillout area before sitting down for dinner at the large, ten-seater dining table. And if you'd like to treat yourself to a meal out, you've got too many options to mention within...More Details

    A Note to Go

The waterside vistas seen from the private balcony of this contemporary Copenhagen apartment had us hook, line and sinker – and that was before we'd even seen the home's design-savvy interiors. Alongside the two elegant bedrooms, there's a cosy TV snug with a sofa bed for the last two guests – great for children or teens, but it won't suit everyone. Housed in an exclusive waterfront development, it's worth noting there are ongoing building works nearby. But for such an unbeatable location, we can let that slide. Hop over the canal to postcard-pretty Nyhavn Harbour or soak up the hip cafe culture of Christiania – it's all just a stroll away. *This home sleeps six guests, with the last two guests sharing a sofa bed in the TV snug. We think this room is better suited to short stays or children sharing. Outside the snug room, you’ll find an open wardrobe for storage. *There is some construction work happening in the building and surroundin...More Details

    Twentieth Century

Twentieth Century oozes old-time grandeur with a modern twist. It feels extremely personal as it’s brimming with trinkets – we especially love all the items that the host collected when she lived in Japan. Awe-inspiring and monumental in every way, it is also a loved family home. Located in the upmarket part of Frederiksberg, it’s the kind of home that invites you to spend time with your loved ones – whether that means slowing down in the garden, cooking a feast in the kitchen, or relaxing in front of the fireplace, we will leave up to you. *There’s only one shower to share between all guests*This is a lived-in home – expect to share the space with some personal belongings (photos, toiletries, clothes)*There’s a pull-out bed in bedroom two and three – it can be made into a double bed if need be*Bedroom four also doubles as the office – and it comes with a Murphy bed*There are two beds in both bedroom two and three – great for children,...More Details

    The Gantzel Studio

Let’s start by saying something obvious from the outset – this Copenhagen penthouse is one of the most impressive apartments we’ve ever seen! Louise's eye for design, detail and hosting is extraordinary – she can even arrange for a private chef if that’s something you’re in the mood for. The home's interior is pure Scandinavian chic, with plenty of natural materials, sculptural light fittings and elegant furniture throughout. Through to the bedrooms and the neutral decor and blackout curtains making switching off at the end of the day an effortless experience. And if you thought that was the end of it, wait until you see the huge rooftop terrace – at over 2,500 sqft, it has to be one of the largest in the city. Its sheer size combined with views of the water, old Copenhagen, and the many modern buildings in Islands Brygge ensure that we can’t think of anywhere we’d rather be. And while it's true you won't be staying right in the heart o...More Details

    The Olive Tree Loft

This penthouse apartment is located right on Strøget, the main pedestrian street in Copenhagen, making it ideal for visitors who want to explore the city on foot. Climb up to the top of the building and once you arrive, and you'll find a wonderfully light and welcoming space that's full of Scandi-style and designer furniture. The lovely kitchen and living space are great for socialising over some smørrebrødands and a glass of wine, and the gorgeous wooden floors and high windows add an extra level of charm. However, our favourite part of this home is the romantic little nook in the bay window where you can look out over the city's spires and rooftops. Back on ground level, you can stroll to Tivoli Gardens, the famous 19th Century amusement park, in less than ten minutes, while the iconic Nyhavn waterfront is a fifteen-minute walk away. * There's no elevator and there are quite a few steep stairs to climb to reach the apartment* In true...More Details

    A Lordly Touch

Set against the picture-perfect backdrop of Indre By, Copenhagen’s most central and historic district, this pristine apartment is spot on for travellers who want to be in the thick of it all. On top of being in an unbeatable location, this place delivers some serious style. Designed with a sleek Scandinavian look in mind, there's a minimalist colour palette throughout and a generous helping of natural light. Housed in a handsome period property typical of this neighbourhood, nowadays this building is home to a selection of exclusive serviced apartments. There's a 24-hour virtual concierge should you need anything – from booking a table at one of the city's most happening restaurants or organising bicycle hire for cruising about the city. And there’s much to be explored when you do hop on your bike. Around the corner in the bustling cobblestone streets, you’ll find both the iconic Round Tower and the Rosenborg Royal Castle. Heritage Haven

If you're looking for amusement on your city break, how about this home? It's just around the corner from Tivoli Gardens, a theme park with a century-old wooden roller coaster. If you're not after an adrenaline rush, gardens and fantastic restaurants are also nearby. Like the park rides, this apartment has many highs and a few lows. The lift takes you right to the top floor, and we love the characteristic beams. At full capacity, though, there's only one bathroom between eight people – you’d better work out a rota for the mornings. *The courtyard here is shared. *There are some stairs within the apartment. *The fourth bedroom, which is the smallest and often used for children, has room for a bed and not much more. *There's one bathroom for eight guests. We think it'll be a squeeze. *If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a free cot and high chair on request. *Given the home's central spot, expect to hear some stre...More Details

    The Design Show

This stunning apartment is a real one-of-a-kind in the Danish capital. Not only is it in a wonderful location (the Little Mermaid and Amalienborg Palace are only ten minutes away), but it merges historic features with contemporary Danish design in the most elegant way possible. It's a rarity to find homes this large in Copenhagen – especially complete with modern bathrooms – so we were thrilled when this one came across our desk. The bedrooms are among the most stylish we're seen, with forest green feature walls, eye-catching artwork and headboards held by leather straps. While the Crittal-style glass partition walls of the second and third bedrooms are certainly a conversation starter. On long summer days, a couple of French doors open out onto Juliette balconies so you can let the fresh air and that city buzz inside. As a bonus, this three-bedroom home is located along the Crown Prince's preferred cycling route, so you might catch a g...More Details

With the Queen Margrethe as your next-door neighbour, it’s no wonder that the two-bedroom home has a grandiose and illustrious feel. A Noble Touch

We're not going to lie – this top floor apartment is a bit of a climb. But once you reach the top, we promise the views of Round Tower and Trinitatis Church are totally worth the effort. With sloped ceilings, exposed wooden beams and original doors, the character of the building isn't lost, and the clean, minimal Nordic design only enhances the charm. We loved relaxing under the eaves, kicking back on the sofa for a Netflix night and rustling up nibbles in the sleek kitchen. Even better is the hotel-quality service, allowing you to have the best of both worlds. The virtual 24/7 concierge can answer any questions, while your hosts are more than happy to arrange reservations at some of Copenhagen's best eateries as well as bike rentals if you want to cycle. And the location? Terrific. It's in the centre of Copenhagen, right down the street from Rosenborg Castle and Kongens Have gardens. Locations really don’t get much better than this. It's rare to find a property this close by to the picture-perfect Nyhavn district, with its brightly coloured gabled townhouses. Find a sunny spot outside at a quayside café or hop on a boat for one of the many canal tours that start here. As the evening draws in, take a pre-dinner stroll along the waterfront, then duck into one of the many restaurants and bars that line the canal. You could call in on the Queen too, she lives just around the corner. And when it’s finally time to retreat inside, you’ll find a contemporary place that invites you to be social. The communal area is the heart of the home, offering plenty of space for your tribe to hang out, cook, and eat. Order of the Elephant

Ideally located and only two minutes from Amalienborg Palace, this stylish and immaculate home with plenty of space. With four bedrooms, two living spaces and an open-plan kitchen/dining area, large groups will be very comfortable here. The glass-walled bedrooms might leave you feeling a little exposed, but they are a cool design feature that adds a unique feel. As well as being close to the Queen's winter residence, you're also only a five-minute walk from the iconic canalside district of Nyhavn. It's the perfect place to while away a long summer's evening. Either with a cold one on the quayside like the locals or at one of the many restaurants overlooking the old tall ships. * Heavy packers be aware – there’s not a lot of space to unpack your suitcases in the bedrooms* Even though the glass walls are a cool design feature, it might not be to everyone’s taste to have a transparent wall between private and communal spaces* Convenient s...More Details

    Hygge Tales

Size and style come in equal measure at this Copenhagen apartment. It's perched along the famous shopping mile, and most of the must-see sights are just a stroll away. A great option for a multi-generational family stay, each bedroom is as light-filled as the next, and the living spaces are palatial by inner-city standards. It's worth noting there's only one bathroom here, and four guests will be sharing the last bedroom – fine for family sharing, but it won't suit everyone. Expect street noise from time to time, too – but that's all part and parcel of central Copenhagen living. *At full occupancy, one guest will sleep on the sofa bed in the living area. It's small, so we think it's best suited to a child. The third bedroom also has space for four people – while great for a small family sharing, it might not suit everyone. *While this home only has one bathroom, the shower room and toilet are separate, so they can be used at the same t...More Details

    Beech - Ash

This home has gone all-in on the bold and clean design aesthetic. While it might feel a bit sparse to those who prefer personal touches, the Danes don't mess about when it comes to clean lines and functionality. The bedrooms have a bright and open feel, with the master enjoying direct access to a shared outdoor space, while the second bedroom boasts some ornate wood panelling as a nod to the age of the building. It's seriously central, making it an excellent base for exploring the city on foot. With a view of Strøget (Copenhagen's main pedestrianised shopping area), you couldn't be better placed to spend some of those krone burning a hole in your pocket in all the uber-chic boutiques. Sample some of Copenhagen's history by visiting the Rundetaarn – the oldest functioning observatory in Europe is a five-minute walk – while Nyhavn's many waterside eateries are ten minutes away. * Two of the guests will be sleeping on a sofa bed in the co...More Details

    Three Daughters

Three Daughters merges old-world Copenhagen with modern family life. It has high ceilings and unbelievable stucco (straight out of a fairytale castle), and yet it feels very twenty-first-century Copenhagen. The fact that it’s a family home is evident in every corner (we noticed quite a few pen scribbles on the walls, original artworks courtesy of the three children). With its green parks and wide boulevards, Frederiksberg is great for families. Frederiksberg Gardens are very close, and Copenhagen Zoo is just a twenty-minute walk away. *Just a heads up, there are some explicit artworks dotted around this home*There’s currently no home manual, you may have to ask for help on how to use the appliances*This is a lived-in family home, expect to share the space with the host's belongings*It’s clear to see that the kitchen is loved and used – expect a few scratches here and there*Bedroom two and three are set-up and designed for children with...More Details

    Candy Shop

For design buffs, Candy Shop is like a treasure map – there are plenty of things hiding around every corner, waiting to be discovered. The townhouse dates back to 1735, so naturally, it’s brimming with history, which carefully blends with modern amenities and charming furniture. We especially love the pastels palette and the charismatic striped wallpaper that reminds us a little of the traditional Danish candy, bolsjer. Perfect for a family, this home places you right in the heart of Copenhagen – Strøget is nearby, and so is Kongens Have and Rosenborg Castle. *This home is split across four levels – be prepared for a lot of up and down*Tall people be aware – the shower in bathroom one is only 195 cm tall*Watch your heads – this is an old house from the 18th-century, ceilings can be low*Since the photoshoot, bedrooms one and two have been updated with double beds*Bedroom three is clearly set up and designed for children with plenty of t...More Details

    A Viking Treasure

As Copenhagen boltholes go, this is as central as it gets. Strøget, the mile-long pedestrianised shopping street, is right on your doorstep. All the must-see sights are within strolling distance. And should you need to be somewhere fast, Gammel Strand Metro is just a four-minute walk away. While there's plenty of space to spill out in that light-filled living room with table tennis set-up, it's worth noting the last two bedrooms are pocket-sized, with limited floor space. Also, there's only one bathroom – so be prepared for some waiting around in the mornings. But for a home this central, we can let that slide. *The last two bedrooms are quite snug, with limited storage space. The beds are pushed against both walls, making them only accessible from the bottom, and one of the bedrooms doesn't have a window, so daylight is limited. We think they're best for children or teens. *A free cot and high chair are available on request. *There's ...More Details
