    Starry Eyes

Just a few steps away from the hive of activity that is the Campo de’ Fiori square and its market lies Starry Eyes, a spread-out apartment with ample space for large groups of friends and friends. Brightly lit, the tall windows overlooking Corso Vittorio Emanuele and Piazza San Pantaleo let in plenty of light throughout the day and fill the space with fresh air. Step out onto the corner balcony as you sip your morning coffee and watch the world go by. We particularly love the antique dining table – be sure to share an Italian feast of dreams when it comes to mealtimes. Despite the home's central location, you'll find peace and quiet here, making it the perfect escape to return to after a day of pizza-fuelled sightseeing. Having said that, you won't have to venture far to discover the treasures of Rome – as you'll be stationed just 500 metres away from Piazza Navona and 600 metres away from the Pantheon. *You may experience a bit o...More Details

    Centurion Rose

With high ceilings, tonnes of space and beautiful floors (both stone and parquet), Centurion Rose eschews flamboyance for a more elegant, sober aesthetic. The flat isn’t particularly bright – Via Palermo outside is narrow, and has high buildings – but there’s enough light to get by, and the street is beautiful enough that we’ll forgive it. Everything, from the kitchen chairs, to the curtains, to the rainfall shower, is high quality and it all makes sense – functionality isn’t an afterthought. *Not much natural light gets in *There's no TV in the living room – instead it's in the bedroom *Guests 3 and 4 will be on a sofa bed in the living room *City taxes are not included in the price of the stay and will be collected in person upon check-in Air Conditioning Bathtub Black-Out Blinds Buzzer / Wireless Intercom Central Heating Dishwasher Dryer Fridge Hair Dryer Hangers Iron Ironing Board Kitchen Kitchen Utensils Laptop Friendly Worksp...More Details

    Parchment Scrolls

Parchment Scrolls oozes classical Roman style. There’s a wonderful mix of antique elements, like the ceiling beams or the painted doors, and more modern fittings that give it a sense of balance. It’s also in a fantastic position, in the cobblestone lanes of Ponte, and right opposite the grand Church of San Biagio. All of these blessings manage to outweigh the only real problem, which is the second bathroom. It doesn’t have the best ventilation, and the shower is only 190cm high, but we think that it’s forgivable given the rest of the space. *The air conditioning is only in the bedrooms and living room *The second bathroom isn't especially well ventilated - there's just a small extractor fan *Guests 5 and 6 will be on a sofa bed in the living room Air Conditioning Bathtub Black-Out Blinds Blender Board Games Buzzer / Wireless Intercom Cafetiere Carbon Monoxide Detector Central Heating Cleaning Products Coffee Maker Cooking Essential...More Details

    Baroque Waters

When we say that this home is a stone’s throw from the Trevi Fountain, we really mean it. Or should we say a coin’s throw? Watch where you’re aiming that penny, because this apartment is just steps away from Rome’s most striking water feature. In a quiet lane away from clamouring tourists, this spot has world-famous attractions, but with a local vibe. Stepping in to look around the decor, you notice a delightful mixture of old and new. Keep an eye out for chunky wooden beams, parquet floors, and original masonry as you settle down on antique furniture. Then there’s a somewhat contemporary Scandi look, with minimalist bedspreads, stepped bed frames, and modern, white shelved walls. These shelves are packed with literature and art books. Take your pick from the collection and perch in the study – with its twisted gold column, hardwood furnishings, and vintage typewriter, you’ll feel every bit the European intellectual. A stroll in the imm...More Details

    Meadowlark

Just off Via Veneto - the glamorous, but fading, heart of La Dolce Vita - Meadowlark has a welcoming structure with a few nice, unique touches, like the arched window frames. There’s also a small balcony, and while it can get a little noisy from the traffic below, it’s still a lovely spot for breakfast. As a whole, it needs a bit of love - the kitchen in particular, and a few of the carpets are a bit dusty - but there’s enough quality in all the fittings that we can look past that and appreciate Meadowlark for what it is. *The kitchen is big but it's not in the best shape - the water pressure is a bit weak and the stoves were a little tired *The smaller bathroom doesn't have any windows *There's a busy street outside so get ready for a bit of traffic noise during the day *Guests 5 and 6 will be on a sofa bed in the living room Air Conditioning Balcony Bathrobes Buzzer / Wireless Intercom Central Heating Child Friendly Coffee Maker C...More Details

    Lady Gouldian

With its exposed beam ceilings, wood floors and large windows, this colourful home just outside the Vatican seamlessly blends rustic charm with modern comforts. The living room is a laid-back affair with large plump sofas to lounge on while reading a book from the open shelves or admiring the eye-catching art that pops in rainbow hues against the white walls. We love the bright dining area where a glass table sits beneath the chandelier, and the open kitchen that makes socialising a breeze. The bedroom here is simple yet elegant, with an en suite boasting a rainfall shower with views of the courtyard and a bathtub with chromotherapy lights to ramp up your soak's serenity. With St. Peter’s Square just a five-minute walk away, you’ve got culture and history right on your doorstep. That said, with your host able to arrange at-home massages, private chefs, restaurant reservations and tickets to the city’s top events, your home gives you a s...More Details

    Luogo d'Olive

Perched next to the synagogue and the river, Luogo d’Olive is right at the heart of the old Jewish quarter. It’s full of designer furniture, from the Mangiarotti dining table to the Stilnovo chandelier, and this gives it a sense of luxury. However, the abundance of natural light stops any of the design from feeling too heavy or overwhelming, which is always a bit of a risk when decking out a flat with such high-end things. *There's a lift but it starts on the first floor, so you'll have to climb one flight of stairs. *Two guests will be on a sofa bed in the living room. *The bathroom doesn't have any windows. *Given the home's central spot, expect to hear some street noise throughout your stay. *This is a much-used home and so shows some signs of wear and tear. *The shower pressure here isn't the strongest. A Pizza My Heart

This studio space in the centre of Rome is all about location. Situated just an eight-minute stroll away from Termini Station. Meaning you'll have the city of Rome and all of its history, culture and amenities at your fingertips. Equipped with every home comforts you could need, this spot will serve you wonderfully as a sleek and modern base to return to after a day of exploring the city. Discover the sights on foot, knowing that you'll have this contemporary living space to take refuge in when your feet can no longer carry you. Catch your breath from the vast array of Roman sights with a film night in the living room – or a quick apperitivo, if you're keen to get back out to see the city by night come evening time. We particularly love the stunning parquet floors, the high vaulted ceilings and large mirrors found throughout the space – it's this attention to detail that sets the home's modern designs apart from the rest. With most...More Details

    Shutterbug

A standout highlight of this charming studio, formerly the penthouse of the 1920's villa, has to be the large and sunny terrace (with a view to boot). It's a rare find in the busy metropolis that is Rome. There are sun loungers for taking in a few early morning rays, and a dining table that’s perfect for coming together with some nibbles and aperitifs as the sun drops over the rooftops of Monteverde Vecchio’s leafy residential streets. Stepping inside, you’ll find a bright and airy space thanks to the high ceilings reaching up into the eaves. And whilst this is studio living, it’s wonderfully well-kept, with everything you need in the compact, cleverly designed separate kitchen. Not that you’ll be doing much cooking with so many authentic Italian coffee shops and restaurants on your doorstep. And when the ancient ruins and vibrant street life of downtown Rome finally lure you, do like the locals and hop on the tram located just a five m...More Details

    Roman Gold Leaf

Just steps away from Rome's Termini train station, this apartment is in a really convenient location. The Papal Basilica of Saint Mary Major, the Roman Forum, the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps are all within walking distance too. There’s also a range of pizzerias, trattorias and cafes surrounding this home which has an open-plan living space with a modern kitchen. This room also sleeps two guests on a sofa bed when needed – the apartment is perfect for a city break. *At full occupancy, two guests will be sleeping on the sofa bed in the living area. *One of the beds is a raised double bed, accessed via a ladder. *There are one or two internal steps here. *If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a cot for free. You'll need to request it in advance. *Given the home's central spot, you may hear some street noise during your stay. *Parking in Rome can be tricky, so we recommend sticking to easily accessible pub...More Details

    Divino Amore

Set right in the heart of Rome’s historic centre and housed in an ancient palazzo of high and mighty proportions, this place feels more like an Italian residence than a city bolthole – and we couldn’t love it more. Spread out over three floors and exquisitely designed throughout, the designers have taken the best of the period architecture (would you look at those gabled ceilings in the main bedroom suite complete with a private terrace) while bringing the rest of the home elegantly into the 21st Century. Sunny mornings call for lazy breakfasts on the rooftop terrace – the home’s hidden gem. Cradled by the crumbling ochre facades, it couldn’t feel more Italian. And if you’re impressed with the view now, wait until dusk when the cupolas of the city’s churches light up. It’s the perfect spot for aperitifs – and the well-stocked honesty bar will come in handy for those. Keep on top of fitness with the indoor spin bike, then reward your...More Details

    A Roman Affair

This penthouse apartment grabbed our attention for its panoramic views over Rome from the rooftop terrace. Laid out over two storeys, you’ll have two living rooms and two kitchens here, as well as a choice of indoor and outdoor dining areas – perfect for enjoying a meal cooked by a private chef, which your host can arrange. Designed by accomplished artist and interior designer, Francesca Squillante Montoro (also known as Tompiy), the home also boasts bespoke furnishings, eye-catching artwork, and a collection of lush plants. Location-wise, you’re in the Prati area of the city, known for its wide streets and gourmet restaurants, and within a twenty-minute walk of many of Rome’s iconic landmarks. *The penthouse is split across the building's fourth and fifth floors – it comprises three bedrooms on the fourth floor (two of which are en-suite), and three bedrooms on the fifth floor. *If you're travelling with little ones, your host can p...More Details

The Flaminio quartiere sits in a bend of the River Tiber and lays claim to this classic Roman apartment. The interiors are 1930s inspired with vintage furnishings, rich dark wood accents and original terrazzo floors. After an industrious day exploring the Eternal City, we loved disappearing into what can only be described as a king-sized sofa, designed by Philippe Starck. Sip a cappuccino by the window overlooking the Monte Mario Observatory or take a seat at the dining table and enjoy a traditional cornetto. While you’re a fifteen-minute car ride to the centre of Rome, there’s plenty to do in your locale. In the summer, catch an outdoor movie at the Cinema Titian Roma, ten-minutes walk to the north, with the striking MAXXI contemporary art and architecture museum right next door. The manicured lawns of Villa Borghese are located twenty minutes south – perfect for picnics and afternoon strolls. Closer to home, you’ll find traditional wi...More Details

    Olympic Sports

If you love sports, then this apartment’s location will appeal – it’s within walking distance of the Olympic Stadium and the Campo Centrale for tennis fans. The River Tiber is also a short stroll away, while the National Museum of 21st Century Art is reachable on foot. This home has a kitchen and dining area, but there’s no lounge. If you’re here for work, though, each good-sized, comfy bedroom has a desk (and a modern en-suite). This place is an ideal alternative to a hotel. *There are steps up to the communal entrance, but there is a chair lift for guests with mobility issues. *You won't find an oven here – though there is a hob and microwave. We think the kitchen is better suited to prepping lighter bites than large meals. *Parking in Rome can be tricky, so we recommend sticking to easily accessible public transport where possible. Romance in Rome

Tucked into the old town, this intimate home offers a shaded sanctuary away from the Italian capital. Sitting on the ground floor in an enviable location, you have all the wonders of the city on your doorstep. Begin each day with a refreshing soak under the rainfall shower, then take a book from the kitchen shelf and put your feet up on the sofa. Regola is a waterside neighbourhood, built by the River Tiber. With plenty of places to eat and drink nearby, this church-dotted district has beauty everywhere you turn. Shop for books and antiques, or admire the architecture along the historic Via Giulia. Study the Roman ruins at Largo di Torre Argentina, then head to the Pantheon. Over the bridge, Vatican City awaits. There, you can see the world-famous frescoes by Michelangelo. This space is ideal for couples seeking a romantic getaway in the heart of Rome. With beamed ceilings and window shutters, the stylish apartment marries traditional...More Details

    Italian Splendour

Ideal for couples, this cosy apartment is a comfortable base in the heart of Rome. Its central location affords views of historic landmarks including the Piazza del Teatro di Pompeo and Palazzo Farnese. You’ll be just a short stroll from iconic sights including the Pantheon, and will have plenty of restaurants, boutiques, and museums on your doorstep. This apartment can accommodate three guests, with one sleeping on a Murphy bed in the living space. The interior designer has created a system of sliding doors to keep the single bedroom separate from the rest of the living room without ruining the largeness of the room permanently - however if you’re hoping for more space and complete privacy, we’d stick to a guest count of two. There is an additional mid-stay cleaning fee to pay for longer stays here. Simply put, Paparazzi is stylish, well-kept and right in the middle of Rome. Domenico is incredibly attentive as a host, and always ready to help, and while there are a few issues that we found, the majority were unavoidable given the age and positioning of the building (fairly slow wi-fi, for example), and the positives far outweigh the negatives. The apartment has been redone recently and you can really tell, particularly in the bathrooms, which feel very modern and sleek. *The apartment's in a narrow alleyway, so it doesn't get much natural light *Not every bed has a bedside table *When we visited there were a few of signs of carelessness – a couple of bulbs had gone and the sugar was in an open packet *There's no lift in the building, so be ready to haul your bags up the stairs *Not all windows close fully – expect to hear some street noise from below *We think the kitchen could be stocked with more crockery and utensils Air Co...More Details

    Left Unsaid

This second-floor apartment in a Prati building dating back to the 1940s illustrates how to incorporate some eccentricity into a home's interior design without going overboard. Colourful pieces of artwork, gold motifs and boldly patterned feature walls pop off satisfyingly against the white walls, while the silverback gorilla in the living room is a playful addition. The kitchen and bathrooms play it relatively simple in comparison but are equally notable for their high quality — we especially liked the whirlpool bathtub. The location is another plus point in our books. Castel Sant'Angelo and the surrounding Parco della Mole Adriana are only ten minutes' walk away, while Vatican City takes about a quarter of an hour to reach on foot. *Two people can sleep on a sofa bed in the living room *Although the apartment can be reached by elevator and is step-free once inside, there are three steps before you reach the lift *While there's a s...More Details

    Magnolias in Bloom

Private pool, panoramic terraces, and pretty views – what's not to love? Outdoor living is effortless at this home, thanks to a bevvy of gazebos and pergolas where you can share a glass of wine and enjoy an alfresco meal. Feeling sporty? Head down to the multi-purpose court and try tennis, volleyball, or basketball. Indoors, Italian character abounds. There are two kitchens, so you’ll have plenty of space to whip up your favourite pasta dishes. A lift connects the ground and first floor, while the attic level doubles as a hangout zone for teens. Set in Segni's countryside, this is an excellent starting point for exploring Lazio – Rome, Anagni, and the Valmontone outlet are all within driving distance. *This villa is spread across three levels. The ground and first floors are connected by a lift or external stairs, while the second floor is only reachable by steps.*There are two kitchens here.*Your host can provide a cot and high chair...More Details

Situated under a ten-minute stroll from Piazza del Popolo, this apartment has a great location. You’ll also be within walking distance of a variety of museums, the Spanish Steps, and Villa Borghese. In fact, you can see the park of Villa Borghese from this home’s large terrace thanks to its fifth-floor location in a historic building. The stylish open-plan living room is a great place to relax and it also accommodates one guest on a sofa bed at full capacity. This is a great base for your Eternal City visit. *At full occupancy, one guest will be sleeping on the sofa bed in the living area. *While the home can sleep up to four people, the maximum occupancy is three guests. *Parking in Rome can be tricky, so we recommend sticking to easily accessible public transport where possible.
