In this location it feels more like living in a quiet town rather than in a city and yet you're in walking distance to the center of town (12-15 minutes walking). If you have a car, parking in the street is for free any day, anytime. Buses between the center of town and our street run between 6:20 AM and midnight. Simple breakfast provided. Homestay in large house in semi-rural location outside the seaside town of Santa Cruz (the house is about 20 minutes' walk from the beach). I enjoy meeting guests and making them feel welcome. The house is near the historic town of Torres Vedras (a 20-minute bus journey or drive). It's within reach of Lisbon (approximately 1 hour by car, or 2 hours by public transport). There is a shared kitchen with oven, hob, and fridge space. Access to garden (and potentially terrace, depending on what room you are in). Please note, there is no TV, and I do not currently have a washing machine (although there are two launderettes in Santa Cruz, which I use often). Living just a step away from the Levada do Norte gives you freedom to be immersed straight away in nature. Quite easily you get to another part of this vast area where you will find other villages and a town. Our main town is a beautiful gem. Called Ribeira Brava it has all you need. Gym, water sports, beach, traditional creations and food at affordable prices and much more. We have our own Medical Centre with emergency area. From here you can go anywhere, sea or mountain and I will always advice you the best routes. From my house you can get to the nearest town about 10 minutes by car. To Funchal, our capital its about 20 minutes by high way. There are buses to Ribeira Brava at about 5 times a day and to Funchal about twice a day. But I will provide you with exact times.
