This Tuscan villa offers breathtaking views of the surrounding vineyards from its hilltop position. And while the traditional interiors here may not be everyone’s cup of tea, the multiple living spaces mean there’s always a quiet nook to have some time to yourself. For us, though, the outdoor area really caught our eye. Generous gardens offer plenty of room for little ones to run around and burn off some energy. This clifftop villa caught our eye for its views across the Tyrrhenian Sea. Located in the coastal town of Punta Ala, you’ll have direct access to the water, via steep private steps from the garden (the trek back up isn’t for the faint-hearted). There are two living rooms here (although the design may not be everyone's cup of tea), and all of the bedrooms are en-suite, so it’s a great option for a group. We love the outdoor spaces most of all – you’ll have a choice of spots to enjoy a morning espresso, alfresco lunch, or sundowner while admiring the panoramas. Location-wise, you'll find a beach, a golf course, and Punta Ala Marina all within a few minute's drive. *If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a cot for free. A sixteenth-century villa in the hilly outskirts of Florence that, at times, has been both a stables and a nightclub, Thermae is one of the most spectacular places we’ve seen in Italy. Its restoration has been a labour of love for the host, Giovanni, and the way that he’s incorporated technology into the original structure is simply impressive. There’s too much to describe here, but know that everything's been taken care of. This traditional Tuscan home is located in the stunning Chianti hills. Made up of two stone farmhouses rented as one, it’s a great choice for a family reunion or group getaway. You’ll be doubling up on living rooms, kitchens, and dining rooms so there’s plenty of space for everyone, and two of the bedrooms have three beds – perfect for families or children.
