quiet little room in ViborgI'm a French artist living in Denmark, to be close to my children.... The house is located in the outskirts of town, roughly 15-20 minutes walk from the center, in a quiet residential neighbourhood. It's at the end of a dead end street, so there is no traffic around the house. I live alone some of the time. My 2 boys are with me about half of the time. They are 13 and 8, and are very sweet and pretty quiet, so you won't be bothered by the noise. At home we speak English, French and Danish. The bedroom is small but cosy. There is a little toilet and sink next to it, which will be for your use only. I have a nice little garden, lovely to enjoy the sunny weather (when it happens!). There also is a treehouse in the garden, I actually sleep in it with my kids once in a while and you can use it if you want. You are welcome to use the kitchen to cook your meals or to hang out. When my kids are not here you can also use the living room and the ...More Details

Where Gulls FlyThe Danish concept of hygge is hard to describe, but we think this charming home has that cosy feeling in spades. Multiple plush seating areas invite you to kick back and relax as the wood-burning fire crackles – the perfect respite after a wander along the coast. The quaint garden looks like something out of a storybook, with its craggy rock paths, blooming flowers, mushroom-shaped decorations and small water feature. When the sun is shining, we can't think of a better spot to savour a glass of Stauning Whisky and drink in the fresh air – if the weather is less than ideal, the covered terrace or nautical-themed summer house will do nicely, too. Add in the private sauna (it seats up to six) and the jacuzzi tub in the main bedroom and we think this lovely hideaway is a gem.The location is great, too. The Ringkøbing Fjord is famous for its sandy beaches, lush nature reserves and attractive coastal villages – one of which is Hvide Sande, a...More Details

Tall TreesHidden in Jutland's moody woods, this contemporary home offers a tranquil retreat in an atmospheric setting. Complete with a log-burning stove, outdoor hot tub and cosy attic alcove, the timber cabin is both stylish and laid-back, ideal for friends or family looking to escape the city and get out into nature. The decor is typically Scandinavian – think feature seating, muted tones and pale wooden accents. Light pours into every room through floor-to-ceiling windows that look out onto the tree-dotted garden. Weather permitting, take a seat on the deck and enjoy lunch with a view – once the cold sets in, the outdoor fire pit will keep you warm.If you couldn't decide between a forest or coastal getaway, you can experience both here. The closest beach is just a twenty-five minute walk away, and there are plenty of expansive strands to explore along the coastline. The Little Mermaid's SongLocated in the area that Hans Christian Andersen famously called “the Belly of Copenhagen” this apartment boasts not only a fantastic central location but also two balcony spaces for cityscape views. Catch up with any work emails at the dedicated workspace or use the desk to plan the day ahead. Explore the fairy tale city that inspired Han Christian Andersen and visit the Little Mermaid statue, which is just a nineteen-minute walk away.Wander nine minutes from your door and you will reach Nyhavn harbour where you can admire the colourful seventeenth-century buildings, sip a cool beer as you watch the docked boats bob on the waters, dine in a restaurant as you listen to a local jaz...More Details

ArigatouA bohemian atmosphere meets Japanese zen in this striking home. We particularly love all the original features including the wooden beams, exposed brick walls (and even the creaky floors), which mix beautifully with the hosts’ collection of books and vintage furniture. Since the apartment was renovated in 2013, it has been featured in several lifestyle magazines for its charming design aesthetic. Spread across three floors, unique quirks include the rather rustic ladders that take you up to the second and third floors. Curl up in a cosy corner with a book in hand and live the scene of what seems like it could be a fictional dream. Alongside world literature, the host also supplies guests with access to gym equipment, should you wish to keep up with your fitness routine while visiting Copenhagen. Around the apartment, the immediate area feels very local – the Christianshavn canals are just two minutes away, and so are plenty of restauran...More Details

Rod - ReelNorth Jutland’s Jammer Bay is a vast body of water offering a calmer setting than dramatic cliffs and fjords. Along its shores, fishing villages line sandy beaches and picture-perfect camping spots. Lyngby is one of these – your home is located just five minutes from the local beach and a six-minute drive from the larger town of Løkken (not that we think you’ll want to stray that far away).Danish holidaymakers love this sunny isle, where houses like yours are the perfect abode for activities as well as relaxation. In a nod to traditional architecture, the apex roof and bright terracotta slates create a cheery scene, surrounded by lush green lawns. But you can notice the sophisticated edge, even from the outside – solar panels and a glass balcony give you a subtle sign that this house is all set for modern luxuries.
