There isn’t much that’s more Italian than a Vespa, and Farobasso has two of them. These are the most eye-catching vintage objects in the apartment, but there are many more - the host has tied the theme together nicely. The entire place has been recently redone, and you can tell from the excellent condition it’s in - the bathrooms in particular feel spotless. However, Farobasso is a way out of the historic centre. It might be well-placed to visit the Vatican, but to get to the Trevi fountain, or the Colosseum, you might be tempted to commandeer one of the scooters. *Despite being well-placed for the Vatican, Aurelio isn't a very central part of the city*The wi-fi isn't very fast*The small balcony feels as if it could be put to better use*Guests 10, 11 and 12 will be on sofa beds - two in the living room and one in the master bedroom Air ConditioningBalconyBathtubBlack-Out BlindsBuzzer / Wireless IntercomCentral HeatingChild FriendlyCof...More Details

    Villetta Romana
Up on a hill in the breathtaking Roman countryside, this 19th century cottage combines rustic charm with modern comforts and a stunning setting. Nestled amongst pine trees in an estate overlooking the Marcigliana Nature Reserve, you are totally ensconced in nature and privacy. Original 19th century facets of the cottage have been preserved, like the wooden beamed ceiling, diamond paned windows, and stone fireplace, while down a grassy slope there is a private outdoor swimming pool with views down to the River Tiber. Start the day with a refreshing dip, before enjoying breakfast al fresco at the outdoor table. The cottage is on the outskirts of Settebagni, and cafes, shops and supermarkets can be reached within ten minutes on foot. The centre of Rome is easily reachable – just thirty minutes away by car, or forty five minutes door to door by train. For anyone who wants to explore the delights of a big city while having the serenity and s...More Details

  • Wide Awake
Showcasing traditional Roman character, in contrast with contemporary design and furnishings – this home is packed with both personality and practicality. Set in a historic building of the '800s, the apartment's restored windows and doors alongside an exposed brick wall set the scene for a charming stay in Rome. Besides the original features, we'd describe the interiors as urban-chic, with most of the furniture and finishings made from eco-friendly, locally sourced materials. Think precious natural stone, quality wooden flooring and authentic tiles. We particularly love the luxurious curtains and rugs that add warmth and create a cosy ambience, while vintage chandeliers, lamps and other accessories offer bags of charm. With stunning park views from every room, start the day with nature as the daily songbird will be your wake up call. Nestled just a four-minute stroll away from the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, this peaceful spot pro...More Details

    Principe of Life
With Roma Termini station just around the corner, this is the perfect spot for those visiting Rome for a weekend trip. It’s a neighbourhood bursting with restaurants, bars, and cafés, and well-connected to trains, trams, and the metro, located just a six-minute walk away. Most importantly, you'll find all of Rome’s biggest sites close by too. Wander the bustling streets leading you to the Colosseum, just over twenty minutes away on foot, making a pit-stop first at the famous Roman ice cream parlour, Fassi dating back to 1880 and located rather dangerously just long from your apartment. And despite its central location, you’ll be surprised at how quiet this home is, thanks to the communal inner courtyard that welcomes you the moment the grand lobby doors of this historic building open. But there’s nothing dated about the interiors of this completely renovated home. The owners have kept the space sleek and modern to make the most of the n...More Details

    The Street Festa
In the buzzing neighbourhood of Monti, this apartment would suit a group of friends or family who want to be in the heart of Rome. The surrounding streets are a lively medley of bustling bars, restaurants, and ancient ruins – the Colosseum and Roman Forum are a short walk away. Back home, the furnishings are a little dated and two guests will squeeze in on the living area's sofa bed. Still, it makes an ideal base for sightseeing – even if the kitchen is small and there's a tendency for street noise in this ultra-central locale. The cherry on top is the access to a communal rooftop terrace overlooking the ancient rooftops of Rome. *Two guests will be on a sofa bed in the living room, which is quite a squeeze. We think this works best for a group of six.*This apartment is on the third floor of a building without a lift. You'll need to be comfortable climbing a lot of stairs to reach the entrance.*Given the central spot, expect to hear so...More Details

    Bacco - Diana
In a characterful corner of Trastevere, just around the corner from the Tiber, Bacco \u0026 Diana is slightly detached from both the tourist crowds around the Trevi fountain and the nightlife by Piazza di Santa Maria. Of course, this is Rome, so it’s by no means silent, but the slight respite is noticeable. And while the layout of the flat means that there isn’t much light in the living room, it’s still a welcoming space, and the lack of separation between each of the spaces mitigates any sense of being enclosed. *As there's no lift, you'll have to take the stairs to the first floor*While there is a very small outdoor space, it's not big enough to relax in*The TV in the living room is very small*Some parts of the flat are quite dark*Two people can sleep on single sofa beds in the living room, but as there are no doors between that, the bedroom, and the kitchen, anyone sleeping there wouldn't have much space Air ConditioningBalcony / ...More Details

    Cobblestone Hideout
Location, location, location! This apartment is a perfect base for exploring the very best of the Eternal City. Your Roman retreat is right in the heart of the historical centre, on a beautiful cobbled street no more than a fifteen-minute amble away from Campo de' Fiori, Piazza Navona, and charming Trastevere. Perhaps most importantly, you're just off Via Giulia – a roughly half-mile-long cobbled street that's lined from end to end with beautiful churches, elegant palazzi, maze-like antique shops, and some of the fanciest homes in Rome. It's also well-equipped with eateries – I Sofà Bar Restaurant \u0026 Roof Terrace is set to impress with great views and even better food or you can rub shoulders with Rome's great and good at specialist seafood establishment Assunta Madre. If the idea of a quiet night in appeals, the high-end appliances in the kitchen have got you covered, while the home cinema in the double room is ideal for watching l...More Details

    Verdant Verde
This stylish apartment is right around the corner from Termini, Rome's biggest train station, so there's no doubt that the transport links are excellent. But many of the must-see sights can also be reached on foot, including the magnificent Basilica Papale di Santa Maria Maggiore five minutes away and The Colosseum just a little further, about a twenty-minute stroll. After fueling up on pasta and gelato at Mercato Centrale Roma across the street, set off for the Trevi Fountain, The Pantheon and The Spanish Steps, all reachable in under half an hour. When you're not off exploring, shopping or sipping Italian wine at one of the bars in this area, rest your tired feet back at home. We love the bold green colours and funky design – picture cowhide rugs, vibrant pop art and leafy wallpaper in the bedroom. The bathroom is also one of our favourites – it has a huge walk-in rain shower that's the perfect way to relax after a busy day. And this ...More Details

    Pensieri Stupendi
Let's not beat around the bush: the star of the show here is that unparalleled view of the Pantheon and the bustling piazza. It's an incredible sight, and it's all yours to enjoy from the small balcony. But to reduce this gorgeous flat to the view alone is a massive disservice. It's a real stunner, both inside and out – think plush sofas built for lounging, sleek marble countertops, luxurious bedding fit for royalty (which are turned daily for free), and of course, that beguiling printed wallpaper. We can go on and on about how much we adore this flat – don't even get us started on those chequerboard floors – but the fact that you can arrange services like massages and champagne on arrival make it even better. And the location speaks for itself. You are truly in the heart of the city, surrounded by markets, shops, cafes, restaurants, ice cream parlours – you name it, you're near it – while sights like the Piazza Navona and Trevi Fountai...More Details

    Trajan's Hideaway
You’ll find this charming apartment on the narrow, atmospheric Via dei Coronari (officially one of the world’s ten most beautiful streets), right in Rome’s historic centre. It’s just a two-minute stroll to buzzing Piazza Navona where cafés and restaurants spill out onto to pavement and ancient fountains still trickle away. Just across the River Tiber, a fifteen-minute walk takes you to the endless museums and Sistine Chapel at The Vatican. Housed in a building dating back to the 1500s, this apartment still radiates old-world charm which can immediately be felt by the 19th-century aedicule at the entrance. The wooden coffered ceiling and herringbone floor harks back to a bygone age and gilded mirrors and antique furnishings complete the feeling that you’ve stepped into an opulent home in the 19th century. Though it may seem like you’re staying in a museum, the practicalities have been thought of as well, with a full kitchen for your morn...More Details

    The Spaceship
There's much more than meets the eye when it comes to this Roman retreat. Behind its historic facade lies a striking modern apartment over two levels, recently renovated and so quirky you'll want to start taking photos before you've unpacked. Location-wise, it couldn't get much better, with Piazza Navona and the Pantheon within an easy ten-minute walk. You'll enter through a traditional shared courtyard, bursting with historic features, but as soon as you open the front door you'll spot the complex, architect-designed interior – complete with structural steels, a clever mezzanine level in the building's loft and all sorts of surprising features. Think glass sections in the mezzanine floor, a metal staircase, studio workspace, angular windows and space-age lighting. But it's practical too, with everything you'll need for a comfortable stay. *While it can hold three people, this is essentially a studio apartment with a mezzanine so it is...More Details

    Roma Rossa
Sitting right in the heart of Rome’s historic centre with countless points of cultural interest on your doorstep, this comfortable apartment is an ideal base for those looking to make the most out of the Eternal City. Dressed in vibrant pops of red against a calming white palette, fashion meets cool simplicity in the home’s design. We love the parquet floors here that lend a note of classic charm, while the modern art hanging on the walls adds a dash of characterful flair to the proceedings. The scarlet accented kitchen is all set to host sociable breakfasts over fresh coffee and locally bought pastries, while the glass dining table is the perfect spot to gather for a celebratory Italian feast when you’re not out sampling the local trattorias. With a pair of pared-back yet wonderfully comfy bedrooms as well as sleek bathrooms to get any day off on the right foot, you’re all set for a carefree stay. Ivory Blooms
In the heart of the historic Rione Ponte neighbourhood, this apartment puts all of Rome's must-sees at your fingertips. Whether you want to visit Piazza Navona, The Pantheon, or St. Peter's Basilica, it's no problem – they're all about a ten-minute walk away. Back home, the double sofa bed offers flexibility if you're travelling in a larger group. The design is contemporary rather than charming, but the Juliet balcony is a nice, traditional touch (and the view is quintessentially Roman). While the kitchen is small, you'll find plenty of delicious eateries nearby – the climb up to the third floor is a great way to burn off all that pasta. *At full capacity, two guests will sleep on the sofa bed in the living area. *This apartment is located on the third floor without a lift. You'll need to be able to climb stairs to reach the entrance – we suggest packing light. *If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a cot on requ...More Details

History emanates from the walls of this cosy little home in Navona. The structure itself has been well preserved and looked after, with its crossbeam ceiling and wooden doors retaining their rustic charm. Recently renovated, you'll find all the usual mod-cons needed for a comfortable stay too, with a light-filled double bedroom and swanky en-suite bathroom that features a luxurious rainfall shower. While the compact kitchen is better suited for preparing light bites and breakfast, the coffee making station in the living space more than makes up for it. Through to the bedroom, you'll notice the lime green colour scheme, abstract wall art and an antique study area for those keeping one eye on work during their stay. Outside, there's a real authentic feel to the surrounding area that we really love. Pantheon Vista
It’s hard to define the ‘perfect’ location in Rome, but Pantheon Vista makes a good go of it. Overlooking the famous dome, it’s just a stone’s throw from sights like Campo de’ Fiori and institutions like Caffè Sant’Eustachio. The interior is elegant, although the lack of natural light in the kitchen is a shame given the lovely cabinets and fittings. Two of the sofas double up as single beds, and the host is happy to have a party of four, but we think it might get a bit cramped and there’d be very little privacy, so only recommend it for two people. *There are no bedside tables*The layout of the flat makes the kitchen quite dark*Tall guests beware - the highest shower is 195cm*Wile the host is happy to have four guests, we think that it would be most comfortable with two Air ConditioningBlack-Out BlindsBuzzer / Wireless IntercomCentral HeatingChild FriendlyCoffee MakerCooking EssentialsDishwasherDryerFridgeHair DryerHangersIronKitchenK...More Details

    Single Leaf
Gilded gold mirrors, antique furniture, rustic tiled flooring – what this studio apartment lacks in space, it more than makes up for in character. It's packed with plenty of charm, and compared to other apartments of its size, the kitchen is a dream – there's a hob, an oven and a traditional Italian espresso maker to kick-start your mornings. Whether you're unwinding on the sofa with a glass of wine and your favourite Netflix show or nodding off in the sumptuous bed, this apartment feels like a cosy homestead, albeit a tiny one. A stay here will have you living like a local – there's a real sense of community in this bohemian area, and you'll feel like you're part of the action as it unfolds right in front of your window. Trastevere is full of picturesque pedestrian lanes, excellent restaurants (there's a delicious trattoria right down the street) and craft ale pubs. Waxing Quarter
The word simple is often used as a putdown, but this apartment in the Rome suburbs is a great example of pared-back design being more than the sum of its parts. The interior is dominated by muted neutrals and light pastel colours, but it feels bright and instantly welcoming. It certainly helps that there's a lot of natural light coming in through the glass doors, which in turn lead out to a long balcony. There's seating out here, as well as a view of the green hillside which is rather peaceful — especially for the Italian capital. The same could be said for the surrounding suburb of Aurelio, which feels a world away from the touristy haunts but is actually quite close when it comes down to it. You can go from your front door to the Pantheon in twenty-five minutes via public transit if you put your mind to it. The sprawling grounds of Villa Doria Pamphilj can be reached in ten minutes on foot, too. *When we measured the Wi-Fi, we couldn...More Details

    The Starling's Nest
Tranquillity awaits at this whimsical Italian apartment, which you’ll find tucked away down a quiet backstreet in Monti, one of Rome’s most eclectic neighbourhoods. Featuring high ceilings and immaculate wooden floors, this is the perfect place to unwind after a day of work or play in Italy's Eternal City. We particularly love the open-plan living area here and could see ourselves spending hours around the dining table, enjoying a bowl of fresh pasta alfredo and sharing a bottle of dry Frascati wine with our fellow guests. And when night falls, what better place to drift off than the secluded master bedroom, which comes with its very own ensuite bathroom, ideal if you’re after a bit of extra privacy. The interior’s not the only thing worth writing home about here though. With the Trevi Fountain, the Colosseum and the Basilica of Saint Mary Major all within easy walking distance, this place is perfectly situated for exploring the city. ...More Details

    Pencil Graffiti
The palazzo that houses this apartment is something to behold. It's a wonderfully historic building that backs onto a little square and housed renowned American expressionist painter Cy Twombly for a good part of his later life. Once inside, the apartment is simple but elegant. There are plenty of eye-catching original features on display, including the stunning exposed beam ceiling and open fireplace, It lacks the personal effects of a lived-in home, which will appeal to those who tend to find Roman apartments on the busy side, but your hosts made your comfort their number one priority – the beds (and linens in particular) feel very luxurious and make getting up in the morning that little bit trickier. Explore the labyrinth of streets and you'll find yourself a few minutes' walk from the River Tiber, a five-minute stroll from Piazza Campo de' Fiori and 550 metres from the stunning Piazza Navona. * There's no lift in the building, and ...More Details

The way Onsen is laid out makes it quite an unusual flat. You have two separate suites, each with its own kitchen (and each available to rent individually), which share a small courtyard. It’s the kind of place that, if misjudged, could be quite soulless, but luckily that’s not the case here. The design, heavy on plants and nods to Japanese culture, fits the space perfectly, and amplifies the brightness and sense of space. And while there isn’t much entertainment on offer (most notably, there’s no TV), the streets of Monti outside should provide all the entertainment you need. *The flat is made up of two self-contained suites that share a courtyard*There's no TV in the main communal area (though the bedrooms do have one)*One of the bedrooms doesn't have bedside tables*One person can sleep on a sofa bed Air ConditioningBathtubBlack-Out BlindsBuzzer / Wireless IntercomCentral HeatingDishwasherFanGardenHair DryerIronIroning BoardMicrowav...More Details

    Enchanted Olive Retreat
This elegant country house lies just outside Rome, with bus links into the city. Separated into two apartments, we think it's a great choice for families. The inside of the home is quite dated and won't be to everyone's taste, and at full capacity, two guests will sleep on a sofa bed in one of the living areas. That said, kids will love the large garden and playground and your host can provide a cot and high chair for an additional fee. Outdoors you'll find a kitchen and bathroom in a separate building, along with the barbecue grill and alfresco dining area under the pergola for some extra protection from the sun. *Not all bathrooms are photographed here, but we expect consistency in style and quality throughout this home.*At full capacity, two guests will sleep on a sofa bed in the living room.*This home is made up of two separate apartments – there are two double bedrooms and bathrooms on the ground floor, and two bedrooms and one ba...More Details

    One Fish, Two Fish
One Fish, Two Fish is small but perfectly formed, with a good sense of style and a homeliness that makes it suitable for longer stays, as well as short trips. It’s set in a pretty little pedestrian square, in one of the most characterful areas of the city which gives the space a timeless feel. There are also lots of good bars and restaurants nearby - useful given that the kitchen is probably the weakest part of the apartment. *While the fireplace works fine, city regulations mean it can't be used*There's no automatic espresso machine*Guest 5 will be on a sofa bed in the living room Air ConditioningBlack-Out BlindsBuzzer / Wireless IntercomCarbon Monoxide DetectorCentral HeatingChild FriendlyCoffee MakerCooking EssentialsCot / CribDishwasherElectricity AdaptorsExtra Pillows and BlanketsFire ExtinguisherFirst Aid KitFree Parking On StreetFridgeHair DryerHangersHigh ChairIronKitchenKitchen UtensilsLaptop Friendly WorkspaceLuxury BeddingL...More Details

Bowler is very comfortable, and has clearly been designed to tailor to large groups, whether that be friends on holiday, or people on a business trip. Each room has a TV, which makes up somewhat for the lack of any real living room. That’s the big factor with the flat – the lack of communal areas beyond the kitchen. If you’re okay with it (or would even prefer it), then there’s little else to say, as everything is kept very and it’s hard to see how the place could be improved much. *Depending on the time, the check-in might take place in two stages – the first remote, and an in-person welcome the next morning*There's no lift in the building – you'll have to climb the stairs to the second floor*Nothing in the way of basic ingredients is provided*There isn't a living room – just a kitchen with a dining table*Even though there's a sofa bed in one of the bedrooms, eight people at once in the flat would feel like a lot*There's no washing ma...More Details
