    The Roman Melodica

Situated in the Trastevere neighbourhood, this apartment is a perfect pick for a couples retreat. As you’d expect from a studio, space is limited here, but it’s well-equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay and is an ideal base from which to explore the Eternal City. The balcony is an added bonus, just the spot for breakfast before heading out for the day – although with restaurants and cafes lining the streets locally, dining out is always on the menu for an authentic taste of Italy. *Parking in Rome can be tricky, so we recommend sticking to the easily accessible public transport where possible. *Given the home's location, expect to hear some street noise throughout your stay. *Air conditioning is available here, with a minimum temperature of 20?. *This apartment overlooks neighbouring homes. The views aren't the most inspiring and it lacks a little privacy. *Your host doesn’t accept bookings from groups of young peo...More Details

Head to Piazza di Santa Maria, just a five-minute stroll away, where you'll find the 12th-century Basilica di Santa Maria with its stunning Cavallini mosaics. Or, it's under a half an hour walk to the iconic Trevi Fountain. Back at your apartment, French colonial antiques meld with the owner's Parisian heritage and the Roman atmosphere. This place is full of soul and, with all the colours and plants, it's a festival for the senses. After a busy day, get some rest on the beautiful four-poster bed and dream of the wonderful Eternal City. *The lift only works with a key.*While there is a bed in the conservatory, it's better as a place to relax than to sleep.*Child-friendly amenities s...More Details

Although In Motion seems like a simple home at first glance, it hides a lot of interesting details. It feels as if the rooms were designed with the guest in mind, so aside from the minimalist essentials, you're left with a lot of space to move around, which helps maximise the natural light as well. But there's another side to this home – the perfectly harmonised colours and the well-curated art prove that it's been designed with care and subtlety. Located next to a tram stop on the ancient Via Flaminia, you'll have easy access to the centre. * There is no coffee machine in this home* There is no elevator to this third-floor home – those with limited mobility or heavy suitcases beware* Four guests can sleep in this home, but the last two will need to settle for the sofa bed in the living room* The bedroom has no natural light unfortunately Air ConditioningBoard GamesBuzzer / Wireless IntercomCarbon Monoxide DetectorCentral HeatingChild...More Details

    City Vines

A vineyard view isn’t what you expect from an apartment in the heart of Rome, but that’s what you get at this home. The study (or second bedroom) overlooks the vines of Rome’s Botanic Gardens, as though you’re in Tuscany or Chianti rather than the hip suburb of Trastevere. Bars and local trattoria fills the buzzing streets, but this apartment is a haven of calm amidst it all. The interior is a modern medley of soft green and grey, while the exterior boasts the traditional wooden shutters of medieval Italy. Big, arched doors in the master bedroom open up to a private terrace, dappled with greenery and set up with a couple of deckchairs and a drinks table. There’s also a terrace off the living room, with dining for four – perfect for an aperitivo before hitting the bars of Trastevere. *The second bedroom doubles as a study with a single bed and an additional bed available*There's an additional living room with a kitchenette and sofa bed*...More Details

    Vintage Rome

One glimpse at the view from this penthouse’s rooftop terrace, and you’ll know you made the right choice. You’ll be able to admire 360-degree panoramas of Rome and the Tiber River from the rooftop, whether you’re enjoying an alfresco workout or feasting on a private chef-prepared meal. The apartment is elegant and attractive, and comes equipped with everything you might need for a sophisticated city break. If you can tear yourself away from the terrace, you’ll find yourself a twenty-minute walk from Rome’s most famous sights, including Vatican City and the Spanish Steps. What more could you ask for? *There’s a secure garage with space for two cars at this home. *Your host kindly asks that you respect the quiet hours from 11pm-7am. *There’s a desk here for those working remotely during their stay.*This apartment is on the fifth floor of the building and the lift goes to the fourth floor – you’ll need to be able to climb ten stairs to st...More Details

    Centurion Honey

You can tell fairly early on that a lot of thought has gone into the decorating of Centurion Honey. It’s comfortable, with most of the amenities and appliances you could need, and the sofa bed doesn’t feel like a compromise, which is something of a rarity in Rome. The interiors are simple, but the calming tones give a sense of serenity that contrasts with the bustle of the Monti streets below – a welcome respite. *Two people can sleep on the sofa bed in the living room – some guests find it quite firm, but it's in good condition*The dining chairs are classic Kartell models, but some guests find them a bit on the hard side*As there's a hot water tank, it's possible that several long showers in a row will use up all the hot water*There's no window in the kitchen*City taxes are not included in the price of the stay and will be collected in person upon check-in Air ConditioningBalconyBathtubBlack-Out BlindsBuzzer / Wireless IntercomCentr...More Details

    Far Horizons

Simply charming, you'll be captivated by the quaint Roman charm from the moment you arrive here. Minimal designs and modern furnishings create a fuss-free, compact space ideal for long weekends and short stays in the city. While painted radiators, geometric mirrors, and ceramic cacti all bring character, pops of colour seen through the mismatched chairs and cushions make waking up here refreshingly easy. Set away from the more touristy areas, the home is situated on Via Tiburtina, a road with history going all the way back to the third century BCE, and these days it’s a bustling thoroughfare, always packed with locals going about their business. Get to know the public transport system and hop on the underground metro or bus routes to reach Rome's best known historic attractions, with most sights averaging around a twenty-five-minute commute from this home. That being said, you'll never be far from authentic Italian eateries and restaura...More Details

    Artist's Haven

Once owned by famous painter Albert Jill, this apartment lies in the heart of Rome. The decor is a bit dated and children and toddlers aren't permitted, but we think friends or families with older children will settle right in. The wi-fi isn't the strongest in all rooms so it's perhaps not the best for remote working, but Jill's unique art adorns the walls and the location is wonderful. You'll be on a quiet cobblestone street, but you may still hear some non-disruptive outside noise from the city. Within walking distance, you'll find an array of shops, restaurants, and attractions like the Pantheon and Trevi Fountain, with public transport nearby for getting around. *Parking in Rome can be tricky, so we recommend sticking to easily accessible public transport.*This home isn't suitable for toddlers or children, but babies may be welcome – your host can provide a free cot, and you'll need to request this in advance.*You can expect to bum...More Details

    Cielo Cavaliere

Housed in a beautiful rose-coloured 19th-century building, this comfortable apartment in Rome’s Spagna neighbourhood puts you in an ideal position to soak up the city’s history. Pared-back and decorated with a contemporary touch, this home offers a comfortable base with many a lovely detail that will help you feel rested and relaxed. We love the glossy marble floors that add a touch of luxe here and the shelves brimming with books that invite gentle reading on the sofa with an espresso or an aperitif in hand. The bedroom’s private balcony gives way to views over the Tiber River, while the sleek bathroom is a treat to wake up to each morning for a refreshing shower or a luxurious bath to end the night. When it comes to sightseeing, you’ve got plenty to see and do within easy walking distance, including Piazza Navona (a nine-minute walk), the Pantheon (a ten-minute walk), Villa Borghese (a twelve-minute walk) and the ever-romantic Trevi...More Details

    Left Unspoken

Clean and minimalist are often used as euphemisms for uninspirational and bland – a safe choice that won’t offend but won’t excite either. However, your host Luca has managed the not insignificant task of creating a simple, calm interior that still manages to evoke emotion. It’s also practical – with two bathrooms, it feels like the sofa bed is a feasible option rather than thrown in to inflate the guest count. The location is a twenty-minute walk from the Vatican and convenient for exploring further afield on the metro, with the likes of the Colosseum within a twenty-five-minute journey. With elegant buildings, neatly designed streets, and residential charisma, Prati mixes the charm of classic Rome with the pace of a bustling business district. *Two people can sleep on a sofa bed in the living room* Child-friendly amenities such as a cot, baby bath and highchair are available upon request*There's a short flight of steps before you rea...More Details

    Asymmetric

Asymmetric has a good combination of modern fittings (particularly in the bathroom and kitchen) and historical features, like the ceiling beams. It manages to express a sense of place – there’s something ineffably Roman about it. What really elevates the stay, though, is the level of service you get from Richard. He and his team can help you plan things to do during your trip – very useful given the overwhelming number of things to do and see in Rome. *Depending on the time, the check-in might take place in two stages – the first remote, and an in-person welcome the next morning*While there is a lift, it's out of bounds so you'll have to take the stairs to the third floor*The wi-fi wasn't very fast when we measured, and the TV is terrestrial only*There's no washing machine or dishwasher in the kitchen, nor any basic ingredients*Both the bedroom and the bathroom are windowless*There are no bedside tables*Even though there are two sofa ...More Details

    Roma Rossa

Sitting right in the heart of Rome’s historic centre with countless points of cultural interest on your doorstep, this comfortable apartment is an ideal base for those looking to make the most out of the Eternal City. Dressed in vibrant pops of red against a calming white palette, fashion meets cool simplicity in the home’s design. We love the parquet floors here that lend a note of classic charm, while the modern art hanging on the walls adds a dash of characterful flair to the proceedings. The scarlet accented kitchen is all set to host sociable breakfasts over fresh coffee and locally bought pastries, while the glass dining table is the perfect spot to gather for a celebratory Italian feast when you’re not out sampling the local trattorias. With a pair of pared-back yet wonderfully comfy bedrooms as well as sleek bathrooms to get any day off on the right foot, you’re all set for a carefree stay. This apartment is in an ideal location for culture vultures. It’s a fifteen-minute walk to the myriad museums and galleries of the Vatican and five minutes to the ancient Castel Sant’Angelo. The streets around buzz with local trattoria and pizzerias and, after sunset, the wine bars chatter to life. With all that activity on your doorstep, you’ll want a soothing haven to return to, and this pristine white apartment is exactly that. Pot plants, tapestry art and a raw wood dining table are natural accents against the otherwise pure white motif and built-in bookshelves show off a precise collection of global trinkets. Long, typically Roman windows flood the place with sunlight making it a joy to wake up and enjoy another day in the Italian capital. *The third bedroom is quite small, and doesn't have any storage space or bedside tables*Eight guests would be a lot, given the size of the communal areas and the two bathrooms*There's a small b...More Details

    Lion's Pride

When we saw this grand home in the heart of Rome, we were in total awe. The classic Italianate interiors are utter joy, with exquisite antique furniture and oil paintings from the host's family homes in Puglia and Sardinia. Large windows with original shutters look out over pretty Via Bocca di Leone off Via Borgognona, with its luxury boutiques. Entertain in style at the large dining table under the light of the crystal chandelier. Or get some rest in the bedroom painted in a rich Pompeian red – if you’re not feeling sleepy, there’s a library here with a variety of books on art and literature to leaf through. Another bedroom has French doors onto a small balcony, filled with plants, with a view onto the internal courtyard – ideal for breakfast in bed before exploring this charismatic city. This location is fantastic – it’s just a three-minute walk to the Spanish Steps and a ten-minute saunter to the stunning Trevi Fountain, while a ran...More Details

Set in the heart of Rome's lively Prati district, this stylish apartment is a real crowd-pleaser. For those larger groups of friends or extended families looking to explore the Eternal City, you'll have four bright and colourful bedrooms to relax in, knowing the cultural attractions and iconic sights are right outside. Despite the lack of seating in the living-come-dining room, each bedroom offers a unique space to unwind. Styled in a chic 50s theme with vibrant colours, bold wallpaper prints and mid-century furnishings, the rooms also come with plenty of space. Each one has its own look, filled with vintage paraphernalia, from records to typewriters (they also each have a TV – the flat isn’t entirely faithful to the 50s). The bathrooms are well-designed and metro tiled, while the kitchen’s equipped for home meals – but you’re in one of the restaurant hotspots (as if anywhere in Rome isn’t a restaurant hotspot), and there are some great...More Details

    Cornflower Lanes

Set on one of the main thoroughfares of Prati, this home has a fantastic location, with the Vatican Museums just over ten minutes away on foot. It's the same walking distance to the boutiques in Via Cola di Rienzo, as well as the Trionfale Market with its food and flower stalls. If you want to explore some more of Rome's well-known attractions, take a twenty-minute stroll to Castel Sant'Angelo, with its rooftop views over the city. Back at this home – it's comfortable and well-designed, with a calming colour scheme that is just what you need after a hectic day exploring the city. Enjoy a cup of coffee on the balcony or catch up on some work if need be (it's fully equipped for remote working). L'Esploratrice

Coppedè isn’t the best-known quarter of the city, but it’s something of an undiscovered gem. The buildings, an enthralling mix of art nouveau, Greek classicism, medieval and baroque, were all built around the same time, and designed by the eponymous architect. As a flat, L'Esploratrice lives up to the area’s reputation for upmarket homes. It’s set over two floors, and retains many of the original, early-twentieth-century features – like the granite floors and carved wooden door frames. *The entrance to the flat is on the first floor, and you'll have to take the stairs to get there*When we visited, both the TV and wi-fi were not yet installed, so we weren't able to test them*The flat's a little way from the very centre of the city*Two people can sleep on a sofa bed in the living room*The second bathroom is very basic Air ConditioningBoard GamesBuzzer / Wireless IntercomCentral HeatingCooking EssentialsDishwasherElectricity AdaptorsEsp...More Details

    Florals - Antiques

Located in a gorgeous 19th-century building, this apartment offers a truly traditional Italian welcome. With plenty of original touches and lots of soul, you'll feel at right home here in no time at all. Step inside, and you'll find a charming living space that invites you to drop your bags and get comfortable on the blue velvet sofa. There are plenty of antique furnishings around the apartment, and a beautiful stained glass piece, giving you plenty to feast your eyes on. Speaking on feasting, budding chefs can head for the pretty tiled kitchen and whip up their favourite pasta dishes to share with their fellow guests. And, there's even a fantastic balcony for morning espressos and evening glasses of Pinot Grigio as you breathe in the fresh air. The world-famous Spanish Steps are only a three-minute stroll away from the front door, and the Piazza del Popolo is a five-minute walk away. Centurion Silver

Hidden behind a classic, salmon-pink facade with green wood shuttered windows, is a sleek and modern apartment for two (or perhaps a solo traveller). Halfway between the Spanish Steps and the Colosseum, this place puts the major sights of ancient Rome within easy strolling distance, alongside streets filled with carbonara-hawking trattorias and gelato shops. In one direction, it’s a fifteen-minute walk to the Spanish Steps, and fifteen minutes in the other direction sees you at the Colosseum and Roman Forum. Inside, you’ll find a living space the colour of pastel sunsets, alongside a sleek monochrome kitchen. Traditional Roman windows let the sunlight stream in during the day, and marble-effect tiles keep things cool underfoot. The big sumptuous bed was made for a peaceful night’s sleep, but the real draw is the location in the heart of Rome. *The water pressure in the shower is fine but not the best we've seen*Two guests will be on a ...More Details

Modern and minimalist, this Art Deco-inspired apartment is a well-designed pocket of calm in the heart of Rome. Just a seven-minute walk to Trevi Fountain and the famous Spanish Steps – you really couldn't be better placed in the Eternal City. A wander around the immediate neighbourhood will take you to designer shops and hidden wine bars for a glass of Barolo. In a quiet courtyard that's away from the bustling tourists, there's a local and authentic feel to the home while still being close to the city's most beloved attractions. Back inside, you'll find a fresh and functional space benefitting from plush leather sofas and a stylish white dining area with tasteful artwork adorning the walls. But the real draw of this home is the shaded terrace – complete with an elegant dining area. You can’t visit Rome without visiting the Vatican City – luckily this stylish abode is just a five-minute stroll to St. Peter's Square. It’s also only a ten-minute walk to the Vatican Museums, as well as Castel Sant'Angelo with its large roof terrace offering breathtaking views across the city. Right on this apartment’s street, there’s a range of restaurants, gelaterias and cafés to choose from – we think this is a wonderful location. After all that sightseeing, you’ll need somewhere super comfortable to return to. If you don’t fancy eating out for dinner, cook some pasta and enjoy at the dining table, next to the window with views across the neighbourhood. Casa Donatella

From floors to ceilings, this apartment in central Rome maintains a sense of originality in its decor and finishes. It blends in with its historic surrounding – the bustling Piazza del Popolo with its pavement cafés and pop-up book markets is a three-minute walk, as is the beautiful Villa Borghese. If shopping is your thing, the Spanish Steps and Via del Corso are five minutes on foot. Large families or groups of friends will find this apartment to be an excellent home base. As soon as you step into the marble-floored hall you get a feeling of old-world Italy. The hall is dotted with antiques and moving through to the living and dining room it’s all floor to ceiling bookcases and herringbone floor. We particularly love the main bathroom, sleek in monotone black and white, yet embracing the vintage with its Singer sewing machine washstand and glorious oval tub. *Note that you'll have to walk up 8 steps to the entrance of this home*A co...More Details

    Pensieri Stupendi

Let's not beat around the bush: the star of the show here is that unparalleled view of the Pantheon and the bustling piazza. It's an incredible sight, and it's all yours to enjoy from the small balcony. But to reduce this gorgeous flat to the view alone is a massive disservice. It's a real stunner, both inside and out – think plush sofas built for lounging, sleek marble countertops, luxurious bedding fit for royalty (which are turned daily for free), and of course, that beguiling printed wallpaper. We can go on and on about how much we adore this flat – don't even get us started on those chequerboard floors – but the fact that you can arrange services like massages and champagne on arrival make it even better. And the location speaks for itself. You are truly in the heart of the city, surrounded by markets, shops, cafes, restaurants, ice cream parlours – you name it, you're near it – while sights like the Piazza Navona and Trevi Fountai...More Details

    The Terrace Palermo

Classical Roman style is on full display at The Terrace Palermo. From the grand piano, the antiques, the artwork, and even the rustic structure itself send a rush to the head as you enter – it’s not the kind of place you'll forget in a hurry. It’s unashamedly ornate, and over-the-top but deliciously so. Sit down in the regal living room with a good book, while noticing the ornamental fireplace, frescoed ceiling and 17th-century paintings. Those working from home during their stay will find a traditional reading room that will have you powering through like never before. To stay here is to move into a bygone era of Roman refinement and sophistication. And this is all before you even reach the rooftop sun terrace – from here, you can look across the picturesque skyline, taking in the Colosseum on one side and the Presidential Palace on the other. It comes complete with all the different types of garden furniture, from a dining table and c...More Details

One Fish, Two Fish is small but perfectly formed, with a good sense of style and a homeliness that makes it suitable for longer stays, as well as short trips. It’s set in a pretty little pedestrian square, in one of the most characterful areas of the city which gives the space a timeless feel. There are also lots of good bars and restaurants nearby - useful given that the kitchen is probably the weakest part of the apartment. *While the fireplace works fine, city regulations mean it can't be used*There's no automatic espresso machine*Guest 5 will be on a sofa bed in the living room Air ConditioningBlack-Out BlindsBuzzer / Wireless IntercomCarbon Monoxide DetectorCentral HeatingChild FriendlyCoffee MakerCooking EssentialsCot / CribDishwasherElectricity AdaptorsExtra Pillows and BlanketsFire ExtinguisherFirst Aid KitFree Parking On StreetFridgeHair DryerHangersHigh ChairIronKitchenKitchen UtensilsLaptop Friendly WorkspaceLuxury BeddingL...More Details

    Donato's Cloisters

It’s not often you get the chance to stay in as beautiful a building as Chiostro del Bramante and its stunning sculpture museum. Built in the 1500s, the building now hosts an art gallery, restaurant, cafe and bookshop where you’ll get discounts at during your stay. Wander around and take in Donato Bramante's Renaissance work, visit the adjacent Santa Maria della Pace and witness Raphael’s famous Sybils and then step out onto the beautiful Piazza Navona for a spot of sightseeing. As well as being right outside one of Rome's most beloved squares, you're only an eight-minute stroll to the Pantheon and a fourteen-minute walk to the Trevi Fountain. Back to the home itself, you'll find a bright and airy open-plan living space that makes great use of the layout with stylish panel dividers. It's a minimalist, Art Deco-inspired interior with white sofas, reclaimed furnishings, abstract artwork and a pastel pink and orange colour scheme – we love...More Details

    Exposed Elegance

Cute and compact, this chic apartment is infused with a warm, rustic vibe. Find unique artwork on the walls and patches of brick interior dotted around white walls. Subtle splashes of colour – such as the bright cushions and plant life – bring tinges of character to the home.Resting between the kitchen and the living room, you'll discover a cute dining table capable of hosting four people. It's a cosy spot to share slices of freshly made pizza, complemented by glasses of Frascati wine. If you prefer to dine out when you're on holidays – who can blame you when you're in such a hotbed of fine restaurants – then you only have to walk for a few minutes. The surrounding streets are lined with authentic Italian restaurants serving delicious mains and sumptuously sweet desserts. If you hop on a tram or get on the metro, the city of Rome opens up with endless options. Go on a sightseeing tour, stopping off at iconic landmarks such as The Panthe...More Details

    Michelangelo's Gate

Bright and stylish, this cosy flat is in a spot-on location in central Rome – you'll find it nestled in Sallustiano, where local trattorias, worldly museums and historic landmarks are a dime a dozen. We love how close it is to all the must-see sights, including the Trevi Fountain (a twenty-minute stroll), Villa Borghese (walkable in thirteen) and the Michelangelo-designed Porta Pia (just five minutes away). Exploring on foot is easy here, especially with Castro Pretorio and Termini stations within walking distance. When you're not roaming around Rome, come home and chill out in style. Pour yourself a glass of wine and watch the hustle and bustle on the private balcony, which has excellent views of the street below. Inside, rest weary legs on the squishy green sofa, rustle up a meal in the glossy (albeit compact) kitchen or if you need to work from home, get down to business at the desk in the bedroom. The design is laid-back and, most im...More Details

    Pan's Place

Deep within the narrow, medieval streets of Rome, this period building hides a surprisingly modern apartment for up to five guests. It's not a huge space but it's been cleverly configured to make the most of what it has – and to make it feel comfortable and high-end at the same time. Decorated in on-trend whites, creams and greys, it's bright and fresh. The kitchenette is stowed away in a cupboard-like space in the living room and while it's perfect for the basics, it's not going to appeal to keen home cooks – but this is Rome, and some of the best restaurants, cafes and bars in the world are right on your doorstep. Our favourite feature of this home is the view onto the charming Piazza dei Satiri outside. And while we're talking location, the famous Campo de’ Fiori market is just around the corner. *The building doesn't have a lift, so you'll have to climb the stairs*The second bedroom has a pull-down bed and may be used as a small be...More Details
