Great space although not overly huge we were able to fit our family of 5 in here. Was so handy to have a washing machine and kitchen when travelling with kids! Free WIFI was such a bonus too, makes finding you way a lot easier! Mr B was more than helpful. Would stay again.

We loved staying at this apartment. Close to the train station, which was one stop away from Shibuya. Great location for shops and restaurants, and felt like we experienced the real Japan. The apartment was well equipped and the portable wi-fi was invaluable. Owner was very helpful as well.

We stayed in two of Bruces' apartments during our two week stay in Tokyo and they were well situated and well furnished. Bruce gave very helpful information about the area and the pocket wifi that was supplied was invaluable. Thank you Bruce!

Loved the cosy apartment. Loved the fact that everything that we needed was available! Stove, dishes, cutlery, iron, washing machine, even a vacuum cleaner(so we could vacuum-pack our clothes!)
It was really close to the train station which was important because I had young children with me. It was really easy to get around from the train station.
Apartment was on the a street that was full of eateries and mini marts. So you'll never be hungry.

Bruce was very easy to deal with from the beginning - he helped us arrange a cheap shuttle from the airport and made sure we had everything we needed when we arrived. The place was very clean and presented exactly as shown in photos. The property includes a wifi unit that you can take with you when you go out. It was our saviour! Tokyo has very few street signs, so we came to rely on GPS via the connection from the mobile wifi device. The apartment is a two minute walk from Ikijeri Ohashi station, which is just one stop from Shibuya Station - you can get anywhere from Shibuya. It made everything very easy! If you're starving and exhausted, hop across the road to the Chinese Noodle place - they serve up huge bowls of noodles for a good price.

Stay there for 7 days and the location is convenient with a family mart next door, along a stretch of eating street and a 5mins walk to the metro station. Bruce provided details on getting to his apartment and very helpful on directions to different places. We faced some issues and called him during our stay, he came within 15mins to help to resolve it. The Wifi he provided is useful too..Thanks alot

This was my first time in Tokyo and overseas! I was very happy with this apartment! A friend and I stayed here for 21 nights and it was very cheap and comfy, the bathroom was small but that's what you get in japan! I did manage to smack my head on the toilet door handle a lot too, so watch that!! haha
Bruce was great to communicate with, through emails he replied very quickly and he let me know everything i needed to know and was super helpful, he sent helpful videos on how to get out of the train station and then to walk to the apartment, we had to do a self check in and it was very easy!
The location was great it was a super short (about 2 minutes) subway ride to Shibuya which from there we could get everywhere we needed to go! The little street we were on was really nice too, lovely restaurants, family mart next to the building we were in, alcohol stores, drug stores, a bakery and a few other little shops! The walk from the station to the apartment was really short too.
The pocket wifi was a life saver too! It making getting around so much easier, the plug for the wifi charger is also a samsung port and both of us having samsungs we could charge our phones too!
Also watch the bathroom door, the lock is a push button on the inside and my friend or i accidentally pushed the button then closed the door before we went out one day (no key for the bathroom in the space), it was about 9pm when we got home and needed the bathroom to discover that it was locked! We had no idea what to do so we emailed Bruce, thinking that maybe he could come open it in the morning or advise us where a key was or how to open the door, about half an hour later we get a knock at the door and it was Bruce! We were so thankful and he then went to jimmy the door open with a knife, ahaha!
Overall the stay was very good! We stayed in summer too so it was around 30+ degrees everyday and the aircon worked a dream
I would definitely recommend anyone to stay in one of Bruces apartments! 10/10!

We stayed in this apartment for one week (3 of us) and enjoyed it very much, the location was fantastic as previously mentioned in other reviews it is just 1 train stop from Shibuya or a 15 min walk, the little street was full of restaurants so you did not have to go far for a meal in the evening, our favorite was the pork curry restaurant., also a great little bakery nearby and FamilyMart next door.
The WiFi device that is included with the apartment was a godsend, we took it with us every day so we had access to maps etc. The washing machine was handy as we had been traveling two weeks before arriving at the apartment, however drying the clothing was a bit of a challenge until we found the Laundromat 1 min away.
Bruce was very helpful, showed us how everything worked in the apartment upon arrival and where to shop.
The only downside was the size of the apartment – it is too small for three persons, next time we would book one of Bruce’s larger apartments.

We had a lovely stay in Bruce's apartment! Conveniently located one subway stop or about 15 minutes walk from Shibuya, which is a bustling centre for shopping, restaurants, cafes, bars and public transport. The nearby suburb of Nakameguro is a great little spot for restaurants and bars, too, which I had never explored before! The apartment is comfortable and well equipped with everything you could need. It is easy to find from the station and right next door to a handy convenience store. The pocket wifi is an added bonus as you can look stuff up as you go! Bruce was very helpful and responded quickly to all emails. I'd highly recommend one of Bruce's apartments to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in Tokyo!

My wife and I rented this apartment for 2 weeks as part of our honeymoon and we cannot recommend Bruce or his apartment enough!
Before we even got to Japan we were given every possible piece of information you could ask for, including options for travel from either airport to the apartment, how we would like to check in, where to get food if you arrive in the evening (life saver since we got to the apartment at 1:30am) and the address of the apartment in English and Japanese in a print out in case you get lost.
Bruce even made a personal appearance to check in with us to make sure everything was okay, you can't ask for better service than that!
On to the actual apartment, it's in the perfect spot just 1 train stop from Shibuya (you can also walk if you feel up to it) and is an excellent launching point for any destination you want to see. It really allows you to experience daily life in Japan.
If you are tired from a big day of exploring, coming home to this apartment is a treat as there is everything you need nearby; a FamilyMart, Ramen hut, Sushi, several(well hidden) cocktail bars, 7/11, chemist, even a McDonalds if you really must.
Everything was well presented and very clean. Some people may have a concern with the size of the apartment but we were very comfortable and never once felt cramped or that it was too small.
As I said in the title Bruce really made this feel like home and we can't wait to come back.

I had stayed in an apartment of Bruce's before, and it was fine. But this one was just super. It was furnished exactly as described and pictured, but looked even better in person. As previously, Bruce removed the second bed for me so I could enjoy more space. Location could not be better, sandwiched between Shibuya and Nakameguro. An amazing street--you could have an authentic Tokyo experience without ever leaving it! Restaurnts, shops, convenience stores, the Meguro River, a lovely park...all right there. I couldn't even take advantage of everything I wanted to. Bruce met me promptly upon my arrival and helped with my luggage, showed me the apartment, and chatted for a bit. He made sure I understood how everything functioned and assured me that I could always contact him if needed. This is not high luxury, but a super clean, attractively furnished, home-away-from home in an ideal neighborhood. Want to feel like a Tokyo local with the city at your fingertips (there's a subway station on the corner)? Then this is the place for you. I plan to rent it again, for my son, and for myself. Thanks Bruce! You're the greatest!

First of all I just want to mention that after this wonderful experience, I will continue to work with Bruce when we stay in Tokyo. His follow up and delivery was impecable and always availble in case we needed anything. Aside from being a great person to meet, he gave us all the tips and tools we needed to get around Tokyo. The WiFi card was a life saver during our entire stay as we were able to connect to the internet (locate top restaurants) and have GPS everywhere we went. Getting around would have been a lot harder as we do not speak or read Japanese.
This quaint little apartment in Nakameguro was very perfect for a cozy stay with its neat decoration, heated beds, soft comforters and excellent matresses. We felt as if we were actually living the Tokyo life here! Aside from being clean and tidy with all we would need (clean towels, plates, glasses, etc), it is in a nice gated building located in a really classy part of town (turned out to be one of my favorite Tokyo neighborhoods) with lots of cool restaurants around.
Just one stop away from the major Shibuya station, we had a total blast here and highly recommend this place for real Tokyo living!
Great apartment, Bruce. Thank you!

I'll start by mentioning that we stayed in 3 different places during our stay in Tokyo. 1st was this place, next was the Hotel Sunroute, and last The Hyatt Regency. One for quirkiness, another for middle of the road comfort and finally one for ultimate luxury, yet by far Bruce's place was our favorite. From the convenience of strolling around a neighborhood that has the coziness of regular earthy Japan, to the ultra stylish boutiques echoing of a Greenwich Village in a less hipster more literary-cool era, Meguro, and Bruce's little apartment, had us sold! Seriously, easy access to everywhere. Counter to common beliefs wifi was a problem at both hotels - but for Bruce's he provided a pocket wifi that proved invaluable, as we went far off the beaten path from thrift stores, punk rock shows, art boutiques, to beautiful shrines. We had Tokyo wired our first 4 days mainly because of choosing Bruce's place first. He was awesome, responsive, clear, and laid back quirky (Like Del Toro's character in Basquiat). The apartment is small but cozy with all the amenities we needed, very small bathroom- with a family mart next door or an upscale 7/11 20 yards the other way, open all night. A takeout sushi mart 10secs further along across from the best noodle/dumpling/all night, cozy counter/restaurant we've been to it's called "Chinese oodle estaurant" ( we've been to many from Cambodia to Taiwan to Bali, of which we are writing from right now). There is an Italian trattoria next door as well. If you make it off this street and north, try Golden Brown (the Stranglers, right!) a uniquely smart and artful beer and burger cafe , and next door to alaska for vegan treats and coffee and design savvy intuitive owners yet still not hipster more accessible and deep house, also a 10min stroll to Binx Mexican, awesome! We will be staying at at one of Bruce's bigger places or this one in the future. Highly recommended, if you get, you get it, if you don't you don't!? The Carrillo's

My partner and I stayed in this cute studio apartment for 10 days in October. We met up with Bruce at the subway station, and he guided us on the 2 minute walk to the apartment. The location is fantastic! If you have not been to Tokyo before, it is good to know that you will be taking subways and trains as your main (or only if you are like us) mode of transport. So being this close to the station is so convenient. And only 1 stop away from the bustle and excitement of Shibuya.
The neighborhood surrounding the apartment has several small, cozy restaurants. We loved the gyouza at the noodle house just up the street, and there is a 24/7 mini mart literally next door to the apartment.
The space itself is very secure and quiet. While it is a studio, the oprn floor plan made it feel roomy. The bed seemed to be a full size, but we are both not very large, so it was just fine for us. The kitchen had everything we needed as well. The bathroom is quite small, but that is normal for Tokyo, and should be expected unless you are in a luxury hotel. There was not a TV in the apartment. We aren't TV people anyway, except when in Japan is the only time I like to have it on because all of the cute commercials and fun shows. But really, it is not a big deal and in no way would prevent me from staying there in the future.
A really great touch was Bruce included a pocket size wi-fi for us, so when we were out and about we could easily go on the internet and check maps, explore our area of town, etc. That was a tremendous help. Also having a washing machine was really great for 10 day stay, it allowed us to bring less clothes, and leave more room in our bags for fun flavored kit kats, and cool presents for our friends back home.
Overall I felt this apartment provided the space, location, and price that was just about perfect for Tokyo. I cannot wait to return.

Great apartment in a really excellent neighbourhood in Tokyo. Bruce couldn't have been more helpful and the apartment had everything we needed. On the street there is a really nice sento (public bath) on the corner if you turn left out of the apartment. Take your own towels, shampoo etc. There are a number of great restaurants on the street as well. They may look a little intimidating as there is no English but don't let that put you off as the staff were all really friendly and welcoming. And the food is amazing! The bakery and ramen place have already been mentioned by others and I would particularly recommend the tonkatsu (schnitzel) place, the soba noodles place (they have an English menu). There's a really cool area (naka meguro) along the canal with trendy shops and bars. Can't wait for our next trip!
